I've dealt with Austin Garage Doors multiple times over a couple of years, for both new garage doors, and for installation of garage door openers. It's a family run business, and most if not all the employees are related. Here's my take: - Service: I generally deal with Joe, who seems to be one of the owners, but I'm not sure of this. Each time I've contacted the company, it's been Joe that has coordinated the work. He's responsive, and fairly available, and returns calls promptly. I appreciate this. Further, he's always polite, and very professional. He also takes great responsibility for the work he does. I could tell that he's the type of person that doesn't like to let people down. - Product: Joe is very knowledgeable about garage doors, and trends in the market. He can consult on pros/cons on various types of products that best fit your needs. - Price: In my experience, they're middle of the road. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. You're probably going to get a price right in line with market for whatever you purchase. TLDR: highly recommended on basis of immediate response, professional work, subject matter expertise, and fair price! My garage inexplicably mangled itself into a crooked, immobile mess. Assessing the damage, I found snapped brackets, broken cables, & twisted rails. I'm pretty handy, so I spend the evening trying to fix it, or at least close it, but had to admit defeat. The next morning I did a quick search and ended up calling AGDS. Joe answered immediately, provided a quote, and was at my house within hours. He fixed my garage door in less than 2 hours, and at my request - upgraded to some better components. It is now smoother and quieter than it was when I moved in. I was extremely impressed with Joe's knowledge, professionalism, and dexterity. I highly recommend Joe and his services. My garage door was having some critical issues. I find him on Yelp (well, also to their credit they had their info on my garage door which they had worked on/installed for the previous owner) and he had great reviews there. I called him up on a Friday afternoon and he was able to come out the next day Saturday morning. Prompt, courteous, did not try to oversell me anything, and gave me fair options. I have a general handyman I almost used, but so glad I went with Joe because it's clear when it comes to all things garage-door related, he is an expert. He did the work in about 30 minutes, plus threw in a lock which I really appreciated - and immediately the garage door was working better than when we moved in. I got quotes from five different garage door services. Theirs was the most competitive. They showed up within 2 hours, removed the broken garage door (metal was ripped--could not be repaired), installed the new one and did a thorough adjustment. The installer had just completed over 170 garage doors for a large apartment complex and was very experienced and fast. The 16x7 door was almost identical to the prior pattern, the quality was easily as good or better, the almond color was a close match (as close as can be expected--after 20 years of fading), and the technician was very helpful in explaining when to lubricate it next, how to know if the spring ever needs to be tightened, and then he picked up and cleaned everything perfectly and towed away the old garage door. I cannot begin to tell you what a great company this is but I will try my best. The owner was very responsive. I had damage to my garage door around 11 AM and had a brand new garage door by 6 PM the same day. Miguel, who came to replace the door was friendly, professional, and work quickly and efficiently. The owner responded to my multiple text messages and even help me figure out why my garage door wasn't opening with my remote control. I had in advertently locked the controls on the garage door and didn't know it. They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied, they were very patient with all of my questions and multiple text messages. They made a very stressful situation much less stressful. Excellent experience! Called and was at my house within the hour, and gave me a straightforward estimate for repair. Our garage door and system was almost 20 years old. I decided to get a quote for a new system specifically because they didn't try to upsell me. I ended up going with the new system because after research the amount I was paying for materials and the labor was very reasonable. We called for the initial repair on a Sunday. By Monday afternoon I had a completely new door and system. The system was extremely quiet, and the new insulated door keeps my garage about 15 degrees cooler (which helps as there is a bedroom above it). My Garage door was not opening and closing smoothly so figured it just needed a tune up. I called the company that originally replaced my garage door but they were too expensive. So I called Austin Garage Door Solutions and notice they had fair pricing and good reviews. Joe came by to diagnose the issue the same day and he also notice that the spring was not holding up my garage door when you open it up manually which could lead to me burning out my unit quickly. Austin Garage Door Solutions did a great job repairing our garage door. They came out the same day and had everything completed in two hours from the time I called. They stayed in touch with me the whole time because I wasn't able to leave work to be there for the repair. The panels were partially off the rails and looked in bad shape. I wasn't sure if they were able to be saved, but they were able to save them. And now our garage door works better and is more quiet than before! I snapped a picture of the problem and they gave me an estimate over the phone as well as additional options I could go with. These guys were great! Highly recommended. I contacted the gentleman probably around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. We had a torsion spring that busted and we literally could not get in our garage. They quoted us an amazing price to replace the spring and had it repaired with 13 hrs of the call. Literally the next morning! They are awesome! I consider myself handy but my garage door failed last night and the emergency release would not work which trapped my cars. The bracket was faulty and the cable had malfunctioned.
