JD replaced our broken garage door spring on short notice. His response time was really quick. The price was reasonable and he also adjusted our garage door to stop it from squeaking without us even asking and did not charge extra for that. When I asked whether the spring for our other garage door needed to be replaced (it had not broken but was as old as the broken spring), he told us that it probably still had lots of life left since we rarely used that door. The VIP team did a fantastic job realigning our garage door. They were incredibly friendly, professional and fast. When they were explaining what the repair process was going to entail I became a little wary of the cost and time. I was mistaken. The owner J.D. is a friendly, knowledgeable man who "diagnosed" my garage's problem (A broken spring) over the phone, explained everything to me in a non-condescending way, offered me the best rates of the ten plus services I called, he arrived, worked, and completed the work in a timely manner all while being personable. On the phone I was told the price of a single spring and the price of a double spring ($100 more), when J.D. arrived he announced that he only had a double spring and would charge me only the cost of a single spring. $100 savings instantly because J.D. is a businessman and a gentleman. First off it is rare that I would give a 5 star review after giving a 3 star initially. However this is one of those occasions JD admitted he had lost track and did not try to make any excuses. Instead he came out and talked with me to make sure I understood what needed to be done and how he would go about it. He then gave me a reasonable quote and said he could perform the work the same week. He fixed the springs on both garage doors, replaced the rollers, and installed a second opener for me. The work was performed very well and pretty fast. He went above and beyond as he helped educate me on what needed to be done and the options on doing those. After explaining the situation, he firsts mention that the brand I use is no longer in business. He provides me some other suggestions before using his service and my door started working again later. However if the issue occurs again, I should give him a call. I can't wait for my other garage door to need service! A few months ago my main garage door decided to start making super loud grinding noises. It was possible there could be different root causes, so rather than mess with it, I found VIP garage. After a quick call, JD explained what was the likely cause and even suggested I could fix it myself. Which is surprising. Given that, I decided I'd let him check it out anyways. After a quick diagnosis in person, he was able to verify the root cause. Cheap part, but was not in his inventory. He called around, found it! It was late, so we had a follow up service the next day. Once he stopped by to replace the part, he decided to go above and beyond. First, he didn't even charge for the part. Second, he ended up basically remounting the garage door itself and replacing the wiring. Why? It wasn't quite perfect. He then spent even more time to get the adjustments just perfect so it closed and opened better than any garage door I've ever used. End of the day, he didn't charge for any of the extra work. Just a very reasonable flat labor rate. Needless to say, I'll absolutely be calling JD again when his services are required. read more

First let me say, the 5 star reviews are all well deserved! Our garage door came off the tracks for the umpteenth time today. Except this time my husband had injured his hand at work hours before and couldn't get it back on the tracks himself as a result. I really wasn't keen on sleeping with our garage door wide open all night so off to Yelp I went. I searched and found VIP garage doors. I requested a quote along with quotes from 4 other businesses. Within 5 minutes J.D responded with a price and a plan. He was in the area and able to come by within 30 minutes! I submitted my Yelp inquiry at 6:29pm and as I type this at 7:27p just short of an hour later our door is fixed! He was quick and efficient and resolved the issues with the door once and for all to prevent it from repeatedly coming off the tracks. We are customer's for life! The last time this happened we contacted another business who quoted us $415 dollars for the same repair (which we declined and DIY'ed our own fix). Look no further for garage door services; JD @ VIP Garage Door Services is the man you want. I was closing down household operations on the Friday before Easter at ~ 11:00 PM. When I tried to close the garage door using the Genie closer thingy, I heard a loud screech and the door, under the control of the safety mechanism, started to open again. I was able to close the door, but only to leave about 4 inches on the bottom open. Clearly, I had a problem, so I jumped on the Internet to find a repairman. We had had service some time ago, and the repairman at that time had left us with contact information for our repeat business. I tried to Google his business name, but could not locate the business. I Googled a generic "garage door repair in Round Rock" and tried to match the old phone numbers, but again no luck. So finding myself back at Square One, I checked into Angi (formerly Angie's List) and found several candidates. One by one, I looked through the list, favoring those here in Round Rock. Long story short, VIP Garage Door Services had the most glowing reviews, so I called the contact number on the VIP web site. Remember, by this time it's well past 11:00 PM, so I expected to get an answering machine. But to my surprise, an actual person answered! Speaking directly to JD, the business owner, we set up a 2-hour time window for the following morning. JD showed up within the agreed window and quickly found the problem; the wood framing had become loose which threw off the door track alinement. So JD put on his carpenter hat and for starters, screwed down the loose framing board. Once that was done, JD checked out the mechanisms on both sides of the door, found them OK, lubed them up for smooth quiet operation, and completed the job within the 2-hour time window we had set up. Cost of the job was fair for the value he provided, and he even granted me a generous veteran discount. When I looked at the VIP web site again (looking for a place to post a review), I noticed it said "Open 24/7." That proved to be true!
