The garage door needed a repair after it was reversed into. Worried I'd need to replace the entire door. Ran to Yelp to get an estimate for the repair. Top rated was VIP Garage Door Services. Gave them a call on a whim. JD asked me to send him some pics of the damage. He came out within 30 minutes. Assessed the damage and was able to fix it right after the assessment. He went above and beyond - answered my questions about the second garage door (not the door being repaired), gave great advice on insulation for the doors, he also lubricated the wheels on the damaged door. Never rushed me or the job. Very professional, very friendly/easy to talk to, knows his stuff, and can't beat the price! Highly recommend. read more

100% recommend VIP garage! Anytime someone is looking for garage door repair we always comment VIP. We have been using them for 5 years maybe? Always quick to respond, reasonably priced and customer service is top notch. We had a spring bust maybe a month after the warranty was up and without asking they honored it. They waned my business before that, but after that we are lifetime customers for sure. It's so rare to find an honest and hard working company that is about the customer. Communication is always easy too, I'm a texter I don't think my phone actually makes phone calls and they are always on top of responding and letting us know when they are on the way. read more

These guys are just the best. Integrity is the first word that comes to mind. I thought my garage door opener was broke and needed to be replaced and was prepared to pay for that. They found that it was a very simple issue and even though they could have just proceeded with the replacement, they let me know that it was a simple fix and wouldn't even let me pay them for it. I mean, who does that these days? They definitely just obtained a customer for life. And I'm trying to tell everyone I know about them. read more

JD is probably the most honest and experienced guy in the business. He gave me the run down of my problem/solution options after the springs broke and actively tried to prevent me from spending more money to get the door replaced. Then he did the repair himself in half an hour with a 15 year warranty. Priced much cheaper than the other options. read more

I recently had a fantastic experience with VIP Garage Door Services, and I can't recommend them enough! From start to finish, their professionalism and expertise were evident. What truly stood out was the transparent pricing. No hidden fees or surprises--just honest and fair rates. Plus, they offer a warranty on their work, which gives me peace of mind. JD always tells you exactly what you need, doesn't upsell you and even tells you the history of some of the garage doors (I have Wayne Dalton doors which to my surprise are notorious to work with). He really knows his stuff and is happy to share the why's of what needs to be done. He's worked on two of my houses and would call him again if I needed a repair or garage door service/repair to be done. read more

The springs on our garage door had broken. I contacted VIP and the were very quick to respond. The owner was able to service the garage door and installed new springs in a short amount of time. I will gladly use them again. read more

Incredible service and great value. JD truly knows his stuff and is very dedicated. I searched for a long time to find a wood look door that was not crazy expensive but didn't look like a five-Year-Old got at it with his finger paint collection. The Door JD sold me fit all the requirements and was far better than I expected. I did have to wait for it, but that is the nature of the world right now, so was happy to allow the time to get it delivered and installed. If you need anything for your door, this is the place to call. read more

Impeccable service as always! We have used VIP garage door services three times and each time we have been impressed with their high level of professionalism and knowledge. J.D. is easy to work with, very polite and explains everything from what went wrong to all of our options. He is very fair in pricing and does not try to rip you off. He has replaced our springs and the entire unit that opens and closes the garage door. When we call him, he always comes the same day to fix the problem or to at least check it out and return with the parts the next day if it is late and he is unable to obtain them. He works quickly and efficiently and before you know it you're ready to go again. He even honored our warranty that had just expired recently and saved us some money. The quality of work is outstanding. We highly recommend him-you won't be disappointed! read more

Prompt response, good and knowledgeable service at a reasonable cost. Highly recommend

My garage door spring broken and I contacted VIP garage door as my neighbor referred. Fast response time and I was quickly presented the options and recommendations. Price options sound reasonable and my garage door is repaired around my schedule. I highly recommend them. Very professional and excellent service. read more

Excellent and fast service. Extremely reliable and honest. Our garage doors were probably 20 years old, they needed a $300 repair, but they were on their last legs. We ended up replacing the garage doors and the garage door opener mechanisms entirely. Doors took awhile to get in due to supply issues but he honored the quotes price despite price increases 2 months later. Couldn't be more pleased. The doors open and close whisper quiet. Highly recommend. read more

Probably the easiest and most efficient repair I have ever experienced. I contacted JD through the company's website. He called me back quickly, came to the house, quoted the repair (which was VERY FAIR), warrantied his work and finished in appx 1.5 hours. It could not have gone ANY more smoothly. I wish all businesses were as efficient and friendly. Can't go wrong with JD and VIP Garage Door Services. read more

Our garage door cable broke today of all days on Memorial Day JD was able to come out quickly and repair it we are so glad we used his services. Highly recommend! read more

JD replaced our broken garage door spring on short notice. His response time was really quick. The price was reasonable and he also adjusted our garage door to stop it from squeaking without us even asking and did not charge extra for that. When I asked whether the spring for our other garage door needed to be replaced (it had not broken but was as old as the broken spring), he told us that it probably still had lots of life left since we rarely used that door. It's rare to have a business talk me out of spending more money and I really appreciate that level of honesty! We will be using VIP for all our future garage door needs. read more

My garage door had some issue and it needed a repair.. I got JD's number from one of my neighbor's. Called him to take an estimate and appointment.. He was prompt enough to squeeze me in his schedule according to my convince and gave me next day appointment . Firstly he gives free estimates. He is very efficient and professional in his work and was super quick to diagnose and fix the problem. Explained me the problem and did the overall maintenance and adjustments . Would definitely recommend VIP garage door services. read more

I was delighted with the service and quality of VIP Garage Door. They came promptly, assessed the situation, quoted me a reasonable price, and then fixed the problem. The VIP team did a fantastic job realigning our garage door. They were incredibly friendly, professional and fast. When they were explaining what the repair process was going to entail I became a little wary of the cost and time. I was mistaken. They were in and out in less than 45 min and I legitimately felt like I underpaid them for their services. By the time it was said and done, I ended up tipping graciously. We used to be able to hear our garage door open from the back of our house *cringe*. Now it's eerily quiet and we love it. Would recommend to anyone and will be using these guys again if the need comes up! read more

I sent out request to multiple vendors in the area and JD was one of the quickest responser with very competitive quote. JD was very knowledgeable and professional. Showed up on time and get the work done quick! Our garage has high ceilings. JD wasn't expecting that. But he was able to get it done with super reasonable quote. He didn't charge us extra fee for the high ceiling. However we appreciated so much and give me some tips. Will definitely recommend him! read more

All the 5-star reviews are absolutely justified. Our garage door stopped working after some storms and I reached out to this company. I spoke to John on the phone who helped me diagnose the problem--he asked me a bunch of questions about the unit, the lights, the wires, etc. He concluded the circuit board likely needed to be replaced. We set up an appointment for the next week and he replaced the part, oiled the joints and got the unit working right away. We chatted for quite a while about work and life and all things normal humans talk about. I got a call from him after he left since he had forgotten to program the remotes (thanks to our chatting). He told me what to do and I programmed them without any trouble. I highly recommend this company. They are solid. read more

JD is incredible! I sent in a quote request and not only did he respond right away, he was available to swing by and do the repair the same day. More than that, I literally discovered the problem (a broken spring), contacted him, scheduled his repair, he came over and fixed it and we were done all in less than an hour from start to finish. How could that not be 5 stars? read more

I selected VIP Garage Door Services based on the great reviews they've received from others. Our garage door needed to be replaced and JD and Luke (I think that was his name!) did a fantastic job! Here are the reasons for my well-deserved five star review: - Getting a prompt call back and JD & Luke came out the same day to measure & bring sample colors - I was quoted a very reasonable price for replacing my door - JD gave great advice and answers for questions about insulated vs non-insulated, warranties, maintenance, etc. He knows his stuff! - Door was available and was installed within a few days of my initial call to VIP. - JD & Luke arrived on time...when they said they'd be there...and finished the job in the time they had estimated (two hours). - I now have a perfect, beautiful, new garage door thanks to JD & Luke @ VIP Garage Door Services! Thanks VIP, for the great job! read more

Discovered my garage door spring was broken when I tried to leave for work in the morning. I was able to get a hold of JD at 7am. I texted him pictures of the problem and he was able to text back a reasonable estimate within a few minutes. JD came out the same day to do the repair. He arrived when he said he would and completed the repair in less than 30 minutes. JD was professional and honest. I highly recommend his service. read more

First off it is rare that I would give a 5 star review after giving a 3 star initially. However this is one of those occasions JD admitted he had lost track and did not try to make any excuses. Instead he came out and talked with me to make sure I understood what needed to be done and how he would go about it. He then gave me a reasonable quote and said he could perform the work the same week. He fixed the springs on both garage doors, replaced the rollers, and installed a second opener for me. The work was performed very well and pretty fast. He went above and beyond as he helped educate me on what needed to be done and the options on doing those. Not just the ones where he would make more money, but what would be best for my setup. He will be my go to for any future services with my garage doors! read more

Showed up as expected, diagnosed a broken spring, and informed me why it was important to move to a conventional spring assembly. Also charged me $150 (+ 100 copay) less than I was quoted from my home warranty company. When we learned the motor broke, we made an appointment to come back and install new operator. read more

Excellent work, very timely and on schedule per their estimate, and great explanation of the work they did. I recommend them enthusiastically and won't hesitate to call them again if our garage doors need fixing. read more

Honest business with a quality product. The owner J.D. is a friendly, knowledgeable man who "diagnosed" my garage's problem (A broken spring) over the phone, explained everything to me in a non-condescending way, offered me the best rates of the ten plus services I called, he arrived, worked, and completed the work in a timely manner all while being personable. On the phone I was told the price of a single spring and the price of a double spring ($100 more), when J.D. arrived he announced that he only had a double spring and would charge me only the cost of a single spring. $100 savings instantly because J.D. is a businessman and a gentleman. Trust this company. Also my garage is perfect now. read more

I had a spring break on my garage door and thought about trying to tackle the repair myself. I was recommended to VIP by a neighbor - within minutes of speaking with JD, I could tell he knew his stuff. He gave me some advice about doing it myself but quickly I realized it would be better to let the professional do it - turns out I also had frayed cables and 2 wheels that needed replacement - glad I didn't try it myself (no doubt saved me time and frustration). Great knowledge, high quality work for a fair price. Give him a call for any garage door service needs. Highly recommended! read more

First off, I'd like to thank JD for his service and extensive knowledge in this business. I first contacted him a month ago when I had issues with my garage door. After explaining the situation, he firsts mention that the brand I use is no longer in business. He provides me some other suggestions before using his service and my door started working again later. However if the issue occurs again, I should give him a call. Fast forward to yesterday and again it stopped working. Gave him a call and after a few conversations and suggestions, I had JD come out to replace my garage door opener with a new one. He was very professional and very quick with his work. Very easy guy to talk to and very patient if you have any questions. Again thank you for your help JD. read more

I can't wait for my other garage door to need service! A few months ago my main garage door decided to start making super loud grinding noises. It was possible there could be different root causes, so rather than mess with it, I found VIP garage. After a quick call, JD explained what was the likely cause and even suggested I could fix it myself. Which is surprising. Given that, I decided I'd let him check it out anyways. After a quick diagnosis in person, he was able to verify the root cause. Cheap part, but was not in his inventory. He called around, found it! It was late, so we had a follow up service the next day. Once he stopped by to replace the part, he decided to go above and beyond. First, he didn't even charge for the part. Second, he ended up basically remounting the garage door itself and replacing the wiring. Why? It wasn't quite perfect. He then spent even more time to get the adjustments just perfect so it closed and opened better than any garage door I've ever used. End of the day, he didn't charge for any of the extra work. Just a very reasonable flat labor rate. Needless to say, I'll absolutely be calling JD again when his services are required. read more

My garage door had just went out, and was referred by multiple neighbors to give him a ring. JD answered immediately and we stepped through the issues going on with my door. You can tell he has been doing this a while because he was very thorough and technical with his assessment. He gave me a couple recommendations and was out to my place the next morning. Just like his assessment over the phone, we was very thorough with this testing to ensure that nothing else was damaged or broken on the door. He was correct that a spring had broke and went straight to work on replacing my system. Overall, the job took less than an hour, he explained to me after the work done, went through a few test cycles, and passed me along his contact information and reassuring full coverage on all work done. My neighbor's were right about using VIP. Quick response, very experienced, and JD himself is just a down to earth guy. I will be recommending VIP Garage Door to all my friends and neighbors. read more

We needed a new garage door and dealing with JD was an outstanding experience, from the very first call, to the consult, to handing him the check. Quality of work is excellent and service is excellent. JD is very nice and personable. Great experience. Would highly recommend him.

I reached out to VIP Garage Door Services because my opener would not close the door. J.D. had me troubleshoot a few things over the phone, and we found a lose wire on one of the sensors was the cause. Fixed it myself with his phone help, and saved me the cost of his visit. What other business would do this... they would rather come out and charge a $120 visit fee for what was a 2 minute troubleshoot call. Next time I need a real repair, VIP is the only one I will call! His service level showed me he cares about customers, and that is #1 in my book. read more

First let me say, the 5 star reviews are all well deserved! Our garage door came off the tracks for the umpteenth time today. Except this time my husband had injured his hand at work hours before and couldn't get it back on the tracks himself as a result. I really wasn't keen on sleeping with our garage door wide open all night so off to Yelp I went. I searched and found VIP garage doors. I requested a quote along with quotes from 4 other businesses. Within 5 minutes J.D responded with a price and a plan. He was in the area and able to come by within 30 minutes! I submitted my Yelp inquiry at 6:29pm and as I type this at 7:27p just short of an hour later our door is fixed! He was quick and efficient and resolved the issues with the door once and for all to prevent it from repeatedly coming off the tracks. We are customer's for life! The last time this happened we contacted another business who quoted us $415 dollars for the same repair (which we declined and DIY'ed our own fix). J.D charged us far less for the same repair and offered far more for his price. It's refreshing to find and honest and fair business in the area. Thank you! read more

Look no further for garage door services; JD @ VIP Garage Door Services is the man you want. I was closing down household operations on the Friday before Easter at ~ 11:00 PM. When I tried to close the garage door using the Genie closer thingy, I heard a loud screech and the door, under the control of the safety mechanism, started to open again. I was able to close the door, but only to leave about 4 inches on the bottom open. Clearly, I had a problem, so I jumped on the Internet to find a repairman. We had had service some time ago, and the repairman at that time had left us with contact information for our repeat business. I tried to Google his business name, but could not locate the business. I Googled a generic "garage door repair in Round Rock" and tried to match the old phone numbers, but again no luck. So finding myself back at Square One, I checked into Angi (formerly Angie's List) and found several candidates. One by one, I looked through the list, favoring those here in Round Rock. Long story short, VIP Garage Door Services had the most glowing reviews, so I called the contact number on the VIP web site. Remember, by this time it's well past 11:00 PM, so I expected to get an answering machine. But to my surprise, an actual person answered! Speaking directly to JD, the business owner, we set up a 2-hour time window for the following morning. JD showed up within the agreed window and quickly found the problem; the wood framing had become loose which threw off the door track alinement. So JD put on his carpenter hat and for starters, screwed down the loose framing board. Once that was done, JD checked out the mechanisms on both sides of the door, found them OK, lubed them up for smooth quiet operation, and completed the job within the 2-hour time window we had set up. Cost of the job was fair for the value he provided, and he even granted me a generous veteran discount. When I looked at the VIP web site again (looking for a place to post a review), I noticed it said "Open 24/7." That proved to be true! I would hire JD again, and I heartily recommend you do the same. read more
