Called Gilbert after a friend recommended his service for the repair of the broken spring on my garage door. I had called late and night and he ask me to send pictures, so he could determine the type of spring that was needed. He was able determine that I had a heavy duty steel door and said he needed to stop by the next morning to get some measurements. he was right on time the following morning and got the information he needed to pickup the correct springs he needed from his supplier. He said he would be back after completing a couple jobs that he had scheduled for that day. He surprised me and called 3 hrs. b/f I expected him to return and said he was on his way. He even sent me a text that he was 5mins. away. He was very professional and explained all that he was going to do. the first thing was we got my truck out of the garage if I needed to go anywhere while he worked on the fix. Well , the fix ( replace) both springs with a heavy duty spring due to the weight of the garage door. he completed the job in about 40 mins. Gilbert was friendly and professional. His price was very reasonable and I HIGHLY recommend Gilbert's garage door services. read more

I am a senior with limited income. I called MATAMOROS because I couldn't open my garage door. I sent Gilbert pictures and he had one in his truck! He said it would be late but that he promised to be over. He actually texted me and was here 2hrs early! Gilbert is extremely nice! I felt bad for him while working in my hot garage. But he was quick and efficient! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with their garage door. One of the other company's I called, want to charge me almost double for something I didn't need. MATAMOROS will be my go to guy! Thank you Gilbert read more

Wow...what can I say about Gilbert and Matamoros Doors...World class service from start to finish! I scoured the reviews of different companies for weeks and landed on Matamoros Doors and was not disappointed. Gilbert was incredibly personable and friendly, knowledgeable and had fair pricing. My garage door was quite a mess from a previous owners DIY techniques, but Gilbert knew exactly how to fix and stayed later to make sure the job was completed and completed the right way! Wonderful service! Gilbert was able to repair our garage within just a few hours of calling. Thank you for your quick response on a holiday.

Called and the voicemail said we'd call you back in 15 minutes. Well, that was yesterday. Totally understand not being available all the time but A. Set a better expectation on your message and B. Check your messages. Didn't get anything back from them at all. read more

Gilbert! Our hero! Our garage doors started acting wonky as soon as we took possession of the house 3 months ago, We had to allot an extra 5 minutes just to get out of the driveway. Anyway, we called; Gilbert answered the phone himself and since he was "in the neighborhood" was at our house in a jiffy. He assessed the problem quickly, laid out repair scenarios, answered our questions and was back the next day with new parts and began work. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Quieter, smoother operation in such a short time! Here's what we like about Gilbert personally: He's got a great work ethic and is very personable besides. He took time to explain what he did and suggested follow up maintenance. He also said instead of agonizing with anything aberrant from the door, just call. He guarantees his work. Nice! read more

Gilbert was great. Took care of moving a grave from old place to new building and was quick and very professional. Thank you

I am a business owner, and I aim to do my very best to satisfy my customers even at my loss sometimes. I had Gilbert Matamoros as a customer recently. In Gilbert Matamoros service call, I initially called and left a message , I would be happy to service his ZTR. I gave him a quote of $250+Parts to go out to his location which was outside my service area. (Kyle Tx) He could not find anyone to service his area. He expressed that my fee was too high and would think about it. We spoke later and I agreed to service the unit $175+Parts. He agreed. I showed up and began to service the unit. Gilbert and I engaged in small talk about our professions. He stated that he owned his own garage door repair service company. I informed him that I have a sister who's garage door needs the springs reloaded, maybe we can barter. His reply was, " I don't show up for less than $1,000", and proceeded to show me a bunch of springs he had replaced already at a cost of $350-$600 for a set of springs. Then he said, "Only I can get these springs at a lower price. You can't buy them. They can't be reloaded, they have to be replaced". (Not true) These springs are typically rated 10,000 cycles and can have a life expectancy of up to 14 years with proper maintenance. They CAN be reloaded without replacement by a professional who has the customer in mind as opposed to their back pocket. Buyers BEWARE, Matamoros Garage Doors will squeeze your wallet with uncalled for parts and labor. Do yourself a favor and get a second quote/opinion. While servicing Gilberts mower, I completed the oil change, replaced the oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and air filter. Began to replace the blades. Removed and replaced two, the third would not release with the impact gun and was pretty tight. I informed Mr. Matamoros of the situation, and asked if he had a cheater pipe or bar so that I could wrench off the blade. He seemed irritated, and expressed it quickly by saying, " If you are a professional, you should not have to ask me for tools or help. I should be watching TV waiting for you to be finished". I replied, "Yes sir, you're right, I got it from here". I tried a while longer with no luck, the bolt was pretty tight. I informed Mr. Matamoros that his service was completed, except for the center blade replacement. Which I would return the following day with a bigger impact gun that would remove the blade successfully. Mr. Matamoros paid me $225 for the service and parts. The bill was $250, he shorted me $25, and said, "I'm mowing Saturday, get the blade replaced". I am a mobile service that caters to evening hours and when I am servicing a customer, I do not answer phone calls. The following day, I was at a service call and upon completion, I noticed that I missed a call from Mr. Matamoros, and received two text messages from him. 1st Text: July 14th @ 7:28 pm "Hey buddy, what time are you getting here to finish the job?" 2nd text: July 14th @ 9:38pm "Please do not ignore my text, i need to know what' going on, or i will find out where you live and collect my money back." I responded: July 14th @ 9:39pm "10 mins away, thanks." I showed up to his property, I replaced the 3rd blade, and texted him, at 9:55pm, "It's done, have a great weekend." Mr. Matamoros text was threatening, surprising, and raised concern and reinforced my awareness that my home was safe. I have four kids and a wife who I will protect with my life. Do not threaten me or my home. If anyone ever meets Mr. Gilbert Matamoros, you'll see that he is a very big man and can be intimidating in character as well as in conversation. If anyone needs to be careful it is the City of Kyle, Texas. Matamoros Garage Doors will scam you, squeeze your wallet for unnecessary parts and labor or worse threaten your home. I called "Pros On Call" https://prosoncall.com/. They came out to my sister house. Re-tensioned her garage door spring and charged us less than $200. That is a lot less than $1,000. Gilbert Matamoros and Matamoros Garage Doors, need to stop cheating and scamming the City of Kyle. read more

Matamoros Garage Doors is wonderful, they provided exemplary service and I highly recommend them! I got impatient with my garage door opener on the way to my birthday dinner...and broke it. I called at almost 8:30pm on a Friday night and thankfully, Gilbert answered. Though understandably, he couldn't be there that night, he listened to what had happened, explained to me what it could be and told me he would be at my house bright and early in the morning...and stopped by my house at 7am on a Saturday! He and his wife were prompt (5 minutes early), polite, friendly, professional and honest. He explained what was wrong, what I needed...and didn't try to sell me on extras. He was quick, too! I waited to have someone look at my garage because I didn't know who to call...but now I have a working, quieter garage door., so if you need your garage door looked at or fixed - Gilbert Matamoros and Matamoros Garage Doors receive my highest recommendation! read more

Called Gilbert for a quote to replace my Garage Door. Showed up in a couple of hours, confirmed the state of the garage door and explained why it would be a problem, but also that I could continue using it for a while as is. I went ahead and ordered an insulated door, and scheduled the following week for the install. They were on time, friendly , professional, efficient, and local. Highly recommend. read more

If you call Gilbert, he will appear personally to do the work. If you call a larger company with multiple employees, it's hard to say what level of experience you may get with the person who shows up at your door. Above and beyond anything else, this is a good reason to try Gilbert since he has many years of experience. He came within one day of contact with all the necessary parts to replace broken springs after sending some photos and basic measurements. I didn't bother price shopping as the quote seemed quite reasonable for all the parts and labor. Everything works great--highly professional and recommended! read more

The spring on my garage door snapped last night and I was unable to lift the heavy door by myself. Of course, my car was inside and I have to work in the morning! I called Gilbert and he got me in first thing so I wasn't late to work!! He was so friendly and helpful!! The repair was reasonably priced and he even got here early so I wouldn't be late for work!! This guy is amazing! After my son decided to hang on the garage door as it was going up, it came off the track. Called them up around 6pm and they came out within an hour. They were straight up about how much they would charge before coming out. When they arrived they suggested we replace the rollers and spring but no hard sell and said it wasn't absolutely necessary. I elected to go ahead and replace the springs and rollers since they were over 10 years old. Longer story short, glad I replaced them. Garage is amazingly quiet now and operates like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend these guys! read more

I called today since my original repair plans didn't show up as planned. After I made the appt they showed up so I canceled with Gilbert. But he was the ultimate professional! Garage door at my home was stuck after being in use for over 19 years. Called Gilbert and he was out repairing it in no time. Did great work for a reasonable price. Also got a 3 year warranty for the repairs. Will be referring Matamoros Garage Doors to all of my friends and clients. read more

My automatic garage door opener had been broken for years and I was just living with it the old-fashioned way, but then the door itself came loose from the track over a weekend. My garage door was stuck open with no way to raise or lower the door at all. No longer able to secure my belongings, I needed service quick. The very morning before the garage door broke, I was driving behind a big black pick-up truck with letters on the back- "Matamoros Garage Doors". Don't know why it stuck in my head, but I am glad it did. I called Gilbert at Matamoros Garage Doors first thing on Monday morning. 1st great service- Gilbert answered the phone, not some call service. Next great service, Gilbert was at my house within a half-hour. I was fortunate in my timing as he was on his way to Round Rock and just passing by my neighborhood, but the fact that he was willing to pull a u-turn and come check it out let me know right away that he made my phone call a priority. He checked out my door and gave me my options- at a minimum, I needed a new spring and new rollers. I asked about the motor as well and he gave me two options, a low-end and a high-end model. He personally suggested the low-end saying it was the same he had on his own home. The high-end offered a quieter operation and longer manufacturer's warranty, so I went with the high-end. Gilbert quoted my price and asked for a deposit. He texted me updates on his arrival while working on other jobs already lined up that day, and was back later that day as promised and fixed everything in a matter of hours for the price quoted. No up-sell tactics, no other technicians. Great communication and great service. He gave me a quick run-through on using my new door equipment and some maintenance tips, and left his information near the new door opener on the garage wall in case anything ever goes wrong. He was even gracious when I kept calling him "Gabriel" for some reason. It has been about a month now and everything works great. I don't think I will need his services again for a while, but I would strongly recommend him to anyone in need of garage door repair. Great local business. Thank you Gilbert! read more

I highly recommend them. I felt I had an honest review of what work was required to fix my garage door issues. It was all explained to me how everything mechanical works and that gave me good vibes about them, so I had them come out shortly thereafter and fix/install what was needed. They were professional and courteous. read more

After a little OOPS we needed a new garage door right away! I called Matamoros Garage Doors and Gilbert answered the phone on the first ring. Summary: 48 hours later I have a brand new garage door fully installed. I called Matamoros Garage Door to assess a problem I had. Gilbert answered right away. He was able to come out quickly and worked with my schedule. He called to inform me he would be earlier, and he arrived when he said he would. The problems I had with my garage door were due to a very poor installation job by Precision Garage Door. He not only fixed the problem I knew about but he found other parts poorly installed and fixed those problems too. Gilbert's quote was fair, he arrived when he said he would and he was very professional. I won't hesitate to call Gilbert again for any garage door fix or install in the future and can't recommend Matamoros Garage Door enough. read more

My garage door got stuck yesterday. I called Gilbert and he mentioned he wouldn't be able to come that night but first thing in the morning. He talked me through getting the door down for the night and we setup an appointment for 7:30 Sunday morning. He was here at 7:25 and done by 8:15. Very upfront about the pricing and there was no special call out fee for the weekend. Great job great service will definitely recommend them. read more
