She gunned her car backwards up my driveway-- with the hatchdoor open. Yep. The open hatch caught on my open garage door and ripped it off the track. (Her car didn't fare much better.) Enter George from Sevan Locks & Doors. George answers his phone! We made an appt to have the door fixed the next day. Boris came out and fixed it! Reasonable fee and excellent work. Thank you George & Boris. I found Sevan locks & doors on the BBB website. They were the only company in this area to have an A+ rating with no complaints. They are also a member of BBB which was even more reassuring. I wish there was a BBB for FreeCycle customers...

Went into the shop, which I had done business many times under the previous management, looking to…read morereplace a broken key shell (the plastic head of the key with operational buttons) for a late 90's car. Had one replaced at this very shop before, however knowing the vintage of the car I wasn't sure he would stock the part now. Arabic guy asks what do I need, and I reply exactly what I am looking for make, model, year, as well as broken part displayed. He begins to rant that I am too direct, and need to be friendlier. WHAT? He then indicated maybe he was going to choose not to offer service. I diffused his attitude with small talk and he offered to order the part at a cash discount and 1/2 the amount deposited. I agreed and was told it would be about 5 days. I got a very small cash register receipt, and left my name phone number and car model year. 19 days later, no phone call so I drop in to the shop requesting either the key part, or a refund. Different guy looks at the receipt and says "your name and number should have been on the receipt" as if that was my problem." The Arabic guy is not with us, I'll have to look into this and you come back Monday". I'm a bit heated by his surly attitude, but I'll give them until Monday. I did get a call on Monday saying we'll take care of your key. When I come in he asks me if my bank is Bank of America. What the heck, I paid cash and want cash refund, and no it is not my bank but I politely just say "no". Then as he is handing out the cash he says he could have tried again to order it for me but he doesn't want to argue. My parting words were "I did not realize we were arguing" HIs attitude was like I was trying to pull a fast one on him. The part ended being 1/8th the price on Amazon and readily available. I was lucky to get my money back. Bad attitude, poor service, and blames the customer.

I requested service to unlock a deadbolt in the home which became accidentally locked from the…read moreinside. The deadbolt is an older model and had several coats of paint on it from previous owners. I was never given an estimate upon arrival of the locksmith - only the final value at the very end which was extremely high. In addition the locksmith seemed unfamiliar with this particular task and was not interested in hearing any additional information I attempted to offer. Once he was able to get the door open he also declined removing the remains of the deadbolt (which ended up getting completely drilled through) although this would have been relatively easy for him. Additionally he had a can of WD40 which was somehow punctured and sprayed everywhere inside of my house until we took the can and put it in a trash bag and ran outside of the house. Overall I would not recommend this service.
