Noah was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. We lost one of our remote car keys and needed to duplicate another spare. Instead of just letting us buy one off of him and paying for a marked up key, he told us step by step how to buy a programmable key on our own. We only then had to pay him for programming and cutting the key, saving us a good amount of money. He didn't have to tell us any of that, but he did. He met us at our home, programmed the two remote keys we bought, cut several spare practice keys (he gave us these, which can be used in case of lockouts), before cutting one of the keys correctly. He messed up on the other, but promised to make it right with a follow up appointment. True to his word, a few days later he set up another appointment, got another remote key of his own, was able to cut it correctly, and resolved the issue free of charge. Noah is a really friendly guy, he can and will talk your ear off about anything really. To top it all off, at the end of each appointment he "sweetens the deal" by giving out complimentary fruit leather. What a guy, can't recommend him enough! read more

Writing this review a bit late! We locked ourselves out last summer after regular biz hours and were concerned we'd have to do something drastic or pay an exorbitant fee just to get back in. I called Lock and Road and am so grateful I did. I was first asked several questions to give a good picture of the situation, and then was advised of the least costly way to go about getting back in. He probably spent 8-10 mins on the phone with me giving me detailed instructions so I knew what to expect. It worked and we were so grateful for the honest advice! read more

I feel really dumb posting this but I got locked out of my house. It was a really early cold morning and I had put on my coat, gloves, and hat thinking my keys were in my purse already-Nope! I yelped for a locksmith nearby and this was the only one available 24/7. I was a little worried because all the reviews only stated autos and when we were on the phone, he didn't ask what exactly happened and what kind of locks I had - which is why I am only giving 4 stars. Even though I wished he would have been more detail-oriented over the phone, he gave me a flat rate immediately and he was very professional because he kept me updated of his arrival status. When he finally unlocked my door, he respected our privacy by staying outside. I usually carry a spare key with me just incase i locked my keys inside my car. For some reason i did mot carry a spare key. I called many places to see what their quote was and most of them said it starts at 39.99. I needed an exact price so i kniw exactly how much i was spending since in a poor student. Well, i called this company up and they only charge a flat fee of $50. Im keeping them in my phone book. Maybe its because im closer to them? Im not sure. But $50 is a good deal for me. read more

Pros: open on Sunday on a holiday weekend Cons: Customer service Needed a snapped key removed from an ignition and a new care key made. Called Lock and Road who said someone could be there in 30-60 minutes and hurried to get off the phone; this seemed reasonable for a holiday weekend. Waited the 60 minutes and no one showed up or called to say they were running late. Phoned back, the same woman who we initially spoke with rudely said we had just called a few minutes ago (though it had been the hour timeframe) and said the crew were still working on another job and wouldn't be done for 20 minutes. There was no apology and it seemed as though we were bothering them. Would not recommend. We called another company who said they could be there in 20 minutes (and were). read more

Noah is super honest and friendly. He will go the extra mile for you. He is an expert with replacement of the Scion FRS key FOB programming and the tricky immobilizer chip that is involved. I can't say enough great things about Lock and Road, aka Downtown Services. After a couple weeks of car troubles it finally broke down leaving me and my car stranded in Pioneer Square after closing time. With the assistance of some of Volume's strapping young security guards, I was able to push (read: steer) my car into a free parking spot so I wouldn't be towed on Sunday. Sunday afternoon I searched Yelp for an auto mechanic that could come take a look at my car and was available that late on a Sunday. I was directed to Lock and Road. While there were no reviews, I took a chance and gave them a call. Noah met me down on 2nd and S. Washington and was unable to get my car to start. He told me he would have to take it to the shop. I asked the dreaded question: "How much for the tow". Much to my surprise, they offered me a free tow to their shop in South Seattle! By this time it was around 6pm and Pioneer Square was dark and I was dreading the uphill march to the bus tunnel. Thankfully, Noah offered me a greatly appreciated ride to my home in Northgate. Initially, I was quoted a flat fee for the labor and an approximation for the part they had received from an affiliated parts store. My phone rang around 9 that Sunday evening and it was Noah telling me that a more experienced technician had looked at the car and determined that the problem was something different than initially suspected. While the part was cheaper, the labor would be more expensive, but still cheap. They wanted to know if I still wanted to move forward with their services, and of course I was still game. Early Monday afternoon Noah called me again and let me know that when they had gone into the car at the shop they had found that the part was not actually faulty, just a wire from that part (the starter) to the battery. The wire cost me $10 and the labor was $120. He asked if I was ready for them to come pick me up in Northgate and take me to get my car in South Park. Heck yeah I was! Noah picked me up with Yarik, the technician who worked on my car and we exchanged great conversation all the way through afternoon traffic while traveling through Seattle. When we got to the shop (which is a double garage in a residential neighborhood), not only did my car purr like a kitten, but the inside of my car had been cleaned and smelled amazing. As it came time to pick up my tab I found myself getting nervous that there had to be some hidden fee I missed; perhaps I misheard about the tow being free, or maybe I would be charged for the rides. Nope. I was charged $130 for the diagnosis, the labor, the part, a tow from downtown to South Seattle, drop-off and pick-up in North Seattle, and great conversation with two educated people. Oh yeah, and we're planning a pot lock with food from all of our various cultures. As I said at the beginning, I can't say enough great things about this place. They treat you like family from the beginning, and you can feel safe that your car is in good hands. They keep in great communication with you the entire time and make sure you know what you're paying for and why. Their customer service is really high quality and I am recommending them to EVERYONE. Not only are they a mobile mechanic, but they also offer locksmith services, tire repairs, roadside assistance, and pretty much anything and everything under the sun that has to do with your car. And they're open 24/7. What more could you ask for???? read more

Great experience with Noah. My mother carefully locked all kinds of important papers in a lateral filing cabinet, then put the key in a safe place -- never to be seen again! We needed those papers! Found Noah on Yelp and set up an appointment for the afternoon. He came precisely on time, was very personable, picked the locks (there were two of them), all for just $75. My '97 Honda Accord fell prey to a mold infestation after being encased in snow for days. I had an appointment to take it to be detailed. The day before I had turned my car on to let down the windows so it'd air out a bit while I removed all my belongings. This morning, I was all ready to go... but my car was not. It refused to start. After trying the service station around the corner, I sought some yelp help. (Since I am of the lady persuasion, I was afraid of getting ripped off.) I am so glad I did because it led me to Lock and Road's roadside assistance. The dispatch was friendly, yet straight to the point. The driver/mechanic was running a bit behind schedule, but he called me to let me know and I really appreciated that. I was never quoted a time of arrival so he really didn't have to do it. When he did arrive, he was super friendly, very informative, and very courteous. It turned out that it was not my battery, but my fuel had separated in the tank from inactivity with less than half a tank. Did not know that happened! Since he still had to charge me for coming out, he offered other services. He clean and treated my battery for corrosion, tested the alternator and waited around to make sure the car would continue running. He then also suggested ways for me to save money (like switching to Zip cars) since I don't use my car that often and answered other questions that I had about Honda maintenance in general. Then, when I thought the experience could be no better, he then pulled out a big jar of fun size chocolate saying, "here's something to hopefully make your difficult day a bit brighter." It did! When I got to work, I was so peppy! A big change from all the cursing I was doing a couple hours before lol On top of all that, I didn't have to pay anything at all because they billed my insurance directly, even though it was only $40! Fantastic! The guy even brings you snacks after he unlocks your door! Here was my situation: I was dog sitting and I was out on the deck and unfortunately I was unaware that the doorknob was locked in addition to the deadbolt above it, so when I unlocked the deadbolt I thought the door would be unlocked. Haha not the case. After being sketched out by a guy that charged me $15 dollars just to come over and then try and charge me 169 dollars to break my lock and not replace it, I bid him goodbye and luckily dialed Lock and Road's number. The guy on the phone seemed nice and honest and told me he would charge me only half the price of the other guy's rate only if he was able to open the door. Lock and Smith arrived within 40 mins of my call which was their given estimated time and acted in a more professional manor than the other company did. This I have to say made me feel extremely more comfortable since it was 1 am in the morning, and I was trying to enter into a home that wasn't actually mine. I had never had a situation happen like this to me, so being completely naive on how things should happen, I warn other yelpers to be cautious on who they call because looking back on it I see how easy it could have been to be taken advantage of. This review is long overdue, but I promised Noah I would do it. My boyfriend was in NY visiting family, and I was borrowing his car while he was gone. So...of course, being my luck, I ended up leaving the lights on and the next day when I went to start it up, the bettery was dead. It also happens to be that the key doesn't work if the battery is dead, either. So I couldn't jump the battery myself. This all happened on day that my boyfriend was coming back home....who also lives 45 minutes from me, so of course he'd need his car to get home. I came across Lock n' Road on Google, and called them since they're right by me in Northgate. The only thing that was not super great was the fact that it took them 30 minutes to come, but even still he came and fixed the car right up - Unlocking it and jumping the battery. It only cost about $50, which is not bad at all compared to other related roadside services. PLUS, Noah Strasbourger was so nice and patient. He gave me some tips and tricks about if it were to happen again/how to prevent it, too. Overall, I'm a very hapy customer! I would definitely recommend Lock n' Road. read more

I absent-mindedly locked my keys out of the car and they arrived promptly to help open my car. Not only was it relatively inexpensive ($50 vs $150 it cost at other locksmith companies) but the guy had my door open in less than 10 seconds.
