Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware - all 3 said they don't carry the blanks and cannot make the keys. So, I decided I needed to try a specialty locksmith. I took the key to Bulgar ( In Lake City area of Seattle, WA) and found out it was a high security lock/ key combo seldom used on houses - they were able to research the marks on the back and locate and special order the key blanks once I provided my personal ID. All the while they were very polite and explained it would take a few days. This was OK. I was still able to get in and out as I had 1 key - just wanted to order an extra for back up. Next Issue: I needed to replace the lock on my mailbox - I had removed the lock to bring in and match it for a replacement . I'd already been to Lowe's, Home Depot and ACE looking for the replacement. To no avail - they do not carry the right type of locks. Bulgar actually did have them in stock. Again - they are better quality locks than those carried at the local hardware stores. What a relief to finally find it after so many trips to so many stores! I could not look up the keys & mailbox lock and Key online because it had no names or numbers on it to identify it from - the pros at Bulgar even had difficulty finding it and determining exactly what it was - it is about 25 yrs old. They eventually solved my problem however. The cost to replace the mailbox lock at Bulgar is $6.95 if I install it myself which can be done with a small set of pliers and a small wrench. Versus ordering a replacement thru the USPS which requires 2 trips to the Post Office ( 65 miles to and back from my house ) and 2 trips - one to order it and one to pick up the keys once they replace it. It does not require a locksmith - your postman can do it or you can do it yourself. This is just a money maker for the USPS. People lose their keys every now and then. No matter how careful they are. It just happens. But the Bulgar guys helped me to configure a custom set up to. hook the keys to my belt or handbag so I wouldn't accidentally lose them again. This is the same set up they were using personally and it is not made up and sold pre-packaged anywhere. I now have 2 sets of them and I feel much more confident of being able to keep track of my keys while attending to multiple complex tasks. The workers at Bulgar the day I went in were very polite, knowledgeable and helpful and went out of their way to help me and save me money. They were looking for the most effective & economical solutions to my complex lock and Key problems! The situation was getting stressful for me with so many failed attempts to locate the right Locks and Keys! They did their best to put an end to my stress. They explained everything to me really well. They were very professional. I truly appreciate the level of good service I was given. It was just the kind of old fashioned service everyone would like to receive when faced with a problem like this. Helpful, problem solving and good natured and reasonably priced. A+ Service! When I left the store they even called me to follow up on the order and be sure they had ordered the correct number of extra keys I wanted. All in all - I am impressed and happy with their service . I will receive my newly ordered keys in a few days. And I will return to update my review.

I gave my keys to the young man behind the counter. He looked at them for a few seconds and told me "these are security keys with these codes and I'm unable to duplicate these and you will need to contact the manufacturer." Keep in mind, The keys had a few numbers and letters on them but it DID NOT say "DO NOT DUPLICATE" I went back to work and contacted the manufacturer and asked about the keys and the numbers/letters on them. They told me those are just the model number of the keys so they can special order them. ‍‍‍ So I guess the young man behind the counter didn't want to do the extra work and told me he couldn't copy them or he just didn't want to help me. Either way, I won't be returning or recommending them.

The trailer manufacturer thought I'd probably have to cut the whole lock panel out of the door with a torch! I spoke to Scott at Lock N Roll by phone and sent pictures, and he felt he could at least pick it open. He said he'd charge $75 if he could get it open, and no charge if he could not. Keep in mind, I am at the very far edge of his service area, so a gas fee or service call would have been entirely reasonable. Scott came out exactly on time the very next morning and not only picked the lock open, but then managed to find a key that worked for both locks!! Scott still only charged me $75 when he'd just increased the resale value of my trailer by several hundreds of dollars. Scott was fantastic to deal with as I juggled various companies to help me out. I cannot recommend any business more highly than Lock N Roll. I am still dancing around my horse trailer and Scott left over an hour ago...

Incompetent and Unprofessional. Took a set of simple car keys (old school classic) to have copies…read moremade. The first attempt to have them copies by a young woman at the Bothell location (who was unfriendly) resulted in not working on the car. I came back the next day and a young man attempted to fix them. Again, they didn't work. Not only that, but my good master key that opened the trunk, now didn't work. Obviously he copied the badly made key to my good key. I called up Chris, who went round and round with me saying that this type of thing can happen and using ridiculous word salads. He said to fix it, they would need the lock cylinder in the car and that they would have to charge me $170 diagnostics fee, either in person or if they came to my location. After talking in circles with me and me telling him that I would not pay the fee because he ruined my keys, he said to bring them back and they would fix them. Of course, they could not because he ruined the good key! So now I had to remove the trunk lock cylinder out of my classic car, which is not an easy process. Requires removing half of rear interior to gain access to trunk which is locked and can't be opened because they botched the job and ruined the good key. So I came back again the next day with cylinder, only to be told to go to their location next to Fred Meyers In Lynnwood, because the woman in Bothell didn't know how to fix them and said Chris would do it at the other store. So I went to the Lynnwood shop. They acquired that shop recently, which I always had quick and quality service on copies made prior to the new Wise Locksmith ownership. I wait in line for 15 minutes, while 2 people, one being Chris, are slowly doing something for customer in front of me. When it was my turn, Chris, acted like he never met me before and made me retell the story and the make of the car etc. I give him (against my better judgement at this point) the lock cylinder to fix the keys. Now he says it will take the rest of the day to fix the keys. I come back later in the day and he finally has the keys. He made 3 copies. Says they work. Proceeds to show me the keys will turn the cylinder...the first key he puts in won't work....so he goes back to grinding, hammering (yes, hammering) and filing by hand for another 5-10 minutes. In the meantime, while I'm waiting, I'm subjected to listening to VERY LOUD Rap music blaring from the overhead speakers. The Rap is very racist type with lyrics that constantly say the N word over and over, along with ho this and ho that. Very offensive. Listen to whatever you want in your own time, but why would you subject customers to that crap. Finally he gives me the keys back. Now I get to go home and spend a couple of hours putting my car back together. Because it is a 54 year old car, metal is old etc. While reassembling latch, which hasn't been off of car for that many years, the metal fatigues and breaks where it mounts on one side. Summary. All I wanted was 2 copies of old school replica keys (that cost money and freight). In return, I got 3 days of hassle, wasting gas, driving back and forth, disassembling my car, and putting up with absolute total incompetence, rude and arrogant phone conversations, dismissive and unfriendly interactions with employees at both locations. This cost me quite a bit of money and time running back and forth, and now I have a broken mounting bracket inside of my trunk lid that I don't see how you can get in there and weld. Potentially may need another trunk lid and painting/bodywork, which will cost at least a grand. All I wanted was 2 simple copies of simple low tech car keys. I would recommend driving for 50 miles somewhere else than to take even the most simple Locksmith 101 tasks to this outfit. I've never written a Yelp review ever. But the way I got screwed on this deal, with absolutely no remorse on their part....I signed up just to do this review.
