I was there the other day it was noonish and it said we'll be back at 12:30 I went shopping for over an hour came back 1:15 still nobody. Send me back today at 2:38 however I am not going to hang around for 45 minutes waiting to see if they will return. Can you make some standard hours and stick to it. When it says you're open 9:00 to 6:00 but yet you randomly close at 1:00, 2:00 whenever you feel like it it really hinders everybody else. I realize people have things that come up but you're going to run a business run a business. I've been wanting to come back since my debacle of the last keys to give the business a second chance however I went last week sign says will be back at whatever didn't come back. I have been clearing blackberries and brush in my yard. It is a large property & somehow I lost my…read morekeys while working on it. I needed to get some backup copies made for my front door key. Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware - all 3 said they don't carry the blanks and cannot make the keys. So, I decided I needed to try a specialty locksmith. I took the key to Bulgar ( In Lake City area of Seattle, WA) and found out it was a high security lock/ key combo seldom used on houses - they were able to research the marks on the back and locate and special order the key blanks once I provided my personal ID. All the while they were very polite and explained it would take a few days. This was OK. I was still able to get in and out as I had 1 key - just wanted to order an extra for back up. Next Issue: I needed to replace the lock on my mailbox - I had removed the lock to bring in and match it for a replacement . I'd already been to Lowe's, Home Depot and ACE looking for the replacement. To no avail - they do not carry the right type of locks. Bulgar actually did have them in stock. Again - they are better quality locks than those carried at the local hardware stores. What a relief to finally find it after so many trips to so many stores! I could not look up the keys & mailbox lock and Key online because it had no names or numbers on it to identify it from - the pros at Bulgar even had difficulty finding it and determining exactly what it was - it is about 25 yrs old. They eventually solved my problem however. The cost to replace the mailbox lock at Bulgar is $6.95 if I install it myself which can be done with a small set of pliers and a small wrench. Versus ordering a replacement thru the USPS which requires 2 trips to the Post Office ( 65 miles to and back from my house ) and 2 trips - one to order it and one to pick up the keys once they replace it. It does not require a locksmith - your postman can do it or you can do it yourself. This is just a money maker for the USPS. People lose their keys every now and then. No matter how careful they are. It just happens. But the Bulgar guys helped me to configure a custom set up to. hook the keys to my belt or handbag so I wouldn't accidentally lose them again. This is the same set up they were using personally and it is not made up and sold pre-packaged anywhere. I now have 2 sets of them and I feel much more confident of being able to keep track of my keys while attending to multiple complex tasks. The workers at Bulgar the day I went in were very polite, knowledgeable and helpful and went out of their way to help me and save me money. They were looking for the most effective & economical solutions to my complex lock and Key problems! The situation was getting stressful for me with so many failed attempts to locate the right Locks and Keys! They did their best to put an end to my stress. They explained everything to me really well. They were very professional. I truly appreciate the level of good service I was given. It was just the kind of old fashioned service everyone would like to receive when faced with a problem like this. Helpful, problem solving and good natured and reasonably priced. A+ Service! When I left the store they even called me to follow up on the order and be sure they had ordered the correct number of extra keys I wanted. All in all - I am impressed and happy with their service . I will receive my newly ordered keys in a few days. And I will return to update my review.

Came in here about a couple of month ago to have a couple of keys made for work. It's not the…read morenormal keys you can cut at a kiosk so I thought I would give these guys a try. I gave my keys to the young man behind the counter. He looked at them for a few seconds and told me "these are security keys with these codes and I'm unable to duplicate these and you will need to contact the manufacturer." Keep in mind, The keys had a few numbers and letters on them but it DID NOT say "DO NOT DUPLICATE" I went back to work and contacted the manufacturer and asked about the keys and the numbers/letters on them. They told me those are just the model number of the keys so they can special order them. ‍‍‍ So I guess the young man behind the counter didn't want to do the extra work and told me he couldn't copy them or he just didn't want to help me. Either way, I won't be returning or recommending them.

Took some key blanks I bought off eBay for my vintage Mercedes to get extra keys made. Turns out…read morethe blanks I had were the wrong ones and they didn't have the right ones in stock. But a lengthy search found blanks that did work and I was able to get my spare keys at a reasonable price. Totally satisfied!

Incompetent and Unprofessional. Took a set of simple car keys (old school classic) to have copies…read moremade. The first attempt to have them copies by a young woman at the Bothell location (who was unfriendly) resulted in not working on the car. I came back the next day and a young man attempted to fix them. Again, they didn't work. Not only that, but my good master key that opened the trunk, now didn't work. Obviously he copied the badly made key to my good key. I called up Chris, who went round and round with me saying that this type of thing can happen and using ridiculous word salads. He said to fix it, they would need the lock cylinder in the car and that they would have to charge me $170 diagnostics fee, either in person or if they came to my location. After talking in circles with me and me telling him that I would not pay the fee because he ruined my keys, he said to bring them back and they would fix them. Of course, they could not because he ruined the good key! So now I had to remove the trunk lock cylinder out of my classic car, which is not an easy process. Requires removing half of rear interior to gain access to trunk which is locked and can't be opened because they botched the job and ruined the good key. So I came back again the next day with cylinder, only to be told to go to their location next to Fred Meyers In Lynnwood, because the woman in Bothell didn't know how to fix them and said Chris would do it at the other store. So I went to the Lynnwood shop. They acquired that shop recently, which I always had quick and quality service on copies made prior to the new Wise Locksmith ownership. I wait in line for 15 minutes, while 2 people, one being Chris, are slowly doing something for customer in front of me. When it was my turn, Chris, acted like he never met me before and made me retell the story and the make of the car etc. I give him (against my better judgement at this point) the lock cylinder to fix the keys. Now he says it will take the rest of the day to fix the keys. I come back later in the day and he finally has the keys. He made 3 copies. Says they work. Proceeds to show me the keys will turn the cylinder...the first key he puts in won't work....so he goes back to grinding, hammering (yes, hammering) and filing by hand for another 5-10 minutes. In the meantime, while I'm waiting, I'm subjected to listening to VERY LOUD Rap music blaring from the overhead speakers. The Rap is very racist type with lyrics that constantly say the N word over and over, along with ho this and ho that. Very offensive. Listen to whatever you want in your own time, but why would you subject customers to that crap. Finally he gives me the keys back. Now I get to go home and spend a couple of hours putting my car back together. Because it is a 54 year old car, metal is old etc. While reassembling latch, which hasn't been off of car for that many years, the metal fatigues and breaks where it mounts on one side. Summary. All I wanted was 2 copies of old school replica keys (that cost money and freight). In return, I got 3 days of hassle, wasting gas, driving back and forth, disassembling my car, and putting up with absolute total incompetence, rude and arrogant phone conversations, dismissive and unfriendly interactions with employees at both locations. This cost me quite a bit of money and time running back and forth, and now I have a broken mounting bracket inside of my trunk lid that I don't see how you can get in there and weld. Potentially may need another trunk lid and painting/bodywork, which will cost at least a grand. All I wanted was 2 simple copies of simple low tech car keys. I would recommend driving for 50 miles somewhere else than to take even the most simple Locksmith 101 tasks to this outfit. I've never written a Yelp review ever. But the way I got screwed on this deal, with absolutely no remorse on their part....I signed up just to do this review.

I tried 6 different locksmiths in Seattle advertising they can-do BMW, but only 2 would actually meet with me to "look at it". Nick from Cascade Locksmith was flexible and willing to "try", despite the difficulties inherent to BMW's. I like his pragmatic attitude in an uncertain situation. I recently purchased a 2012 BMW Z4 E89, with only 1 working key, second key completely dead. Purchased 2 new blank keys online (Ebay) $30, but not able to connect them to the vehicle, b/c this generation of key fob requires programming (pair slaving) to the specific vehicle; about $2k+ in hardware and annual service agreements, so not worth it for one car. Dealership wanted $450/key for this same level of basic functionality, so that's all insane pricing and not happening. The "Comfort Access" function (touchless entry) will be another $300 for the second key, which it can only handle two keys. Nick says he may be able to get the "Comfort Access" working on a second key, but it will take more time than he has today. He had potential customers calling repeatedly in a panic being locked out of their cars, etc. So today is not the day for this, but he said he can come back when things calm down. Works for me.

Backstory: we recently added a digital lock on our side door. That lock was difficult to rekey, so…read morewe rekeyed out front door to match. So, we needed new house keys. The Universe has a perverse sense of humor and our problems started. I had a "vanity" key pattern I really liked. I found something close. Got it cut at Lowes. It worked in the new side door lock but not the front door. Then we discovered that one of the keys that came with the new lock also didn't work in the front door. I ordered a keyblank like the one I prefer. We tried a (different) locksmith in Everett. He cut the key, it didn't work, he declared the blank "junk" and said "throw it away. He cut me an aluminum key; half of the teeth were missing. We also had a lot of communication problems. We tried another Everett locksmith who claimed they had a blank like I wanted in stock. They didn't. I was frustrated. Today we tried Everett Lock and Safe. They: recut and filed the two almost-working keys to work in the front door AND cut me two working keys with the blanks I like. Extra points for no communication issues. If we need a locksmith or to have another key cut, this is where we will go! 10 stars!

The store has some actual safes on display and sale. Walking into the you cant help but be impressed by the wall of keys they have. I had to have a fob and key duplicated it was a tricky match from what a few other shops told me but they matter of fact ordered the right part, cut it and duplicated it. I was a bit unsure going in but when they finished duplicating I was sure everything worked even before I tested it. These folks are real professionals!
