On the day I moved in, I got locked out of my rental condo. Another locksmith came, spent 30 minutes and pronounced the lock could not be opened. That time, a friend drove all the way across Seattle to get the spare key set from the property manager. Three hours and a whole lot of frustration. This time, a neighbor called Houdini for me. The first time he came and replaced my locks when I started living in a new place and he was courteous and kind and even squeezed me in last minute on his way home from a long day of several appointments on his end. Most recently, I had an accidental lock out of my unit, and I didn't call Dean - BIG MISTAKE - the other locksmith came and his services ended up breaking an internal mechanism of my latch. Disappointed and furious at the outcome of my decision to go to anyone other than Dean, I called Dean to come take a look and to maybe rectify my situation. Dean came right away, fiddled with the latch, confirmed my lock was broken, and explained what he would have done differently as to not break it (his true professionalism shining through once again!). Dean was able to quickly swap out my latch mechanism and my door handle functioned properly once more! When Dean heard my whole ordeal with the other locksmith and how much I paid for the services (an exorbitant amount), he showed grace and replaced my latch for a more than fair amount. I am feeling a little ashamed that I had not just called Dean in the first place. His pricing has always been fair and honest, and he continues to show acts of kindness like he did the first time when he squeezed me in last minute, and most recently when he swapped my latch like it was no problem at all. While I was working on my car today my house key dropped. I walked from my door to my car (maybe a 40 foot walk) and my key vanished in that time frame. 6:15pm on a rainy Wednesday night (which is after hours for most businesses) my key broke off in the lock of my apartment door. Dean is subcontracted out by my building, which is one of the best things my building could do. I called my building, who called the maintenance manager, who called Dean and with all these people working efficiently together in a little over an hour the repair job was done. Dean is legit. I totally recommend him. He came to the rescue this morning when I locked myself out of my apartment. I was referred to him by an apartment manager friend of mine. He got back to me quickly, arrived quickly, and got me back into my apartment in under 5 minutes without breaking my door lock. He has a cool demeanor that calmed my irritation with the situation and was very friendly in addition to being fast.
