We decided to check out Loch Bar on Valentine's Day. Reservations were made weeks in advance for a table of four. Valet is available for a fee, otherwise you can do garage parking within a short walk. It was pouring rain and though the valet had umbrellas, they had me standing in the pouring rain while they got my phone number so they could send me a link to pay for my parking. They have a really nice patio out front facing Westheimer. The check in area was a little crowded especially since it was Valentine's and the weather outside, so getting through to our table was a little rough. Customer service was great. Dee was our server and he did an amazing job from start to finish. He was friendly and gave great suggestions. Our drinks, apps and entrees came out with a quickness as well. I also like that on certain days, they have live music. Even when the live music wasn't happening, they play some good jams and the place stays lively. They had it nicely decorated for the holiday as well. I started off with one of their Valentine's drink specials called You, Me, and whiskey. It was their take on an old fashioned complete with flowers inside. It was good and a generous pour. As far as the menu goes, seafood is their thing, but they have non seafood options as well. For an appetizer, we shared the Crispy Calamari. Portion was kind of small for the price but it tasted really good. For my entree, I went with one of the popular items, the Blackened Redfish. The dish was kind of sloppily plated for a fine dining establishment. To me, the dish had good flavor, but I felt the temps were off. It was just warm and I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Maybe they premade things to get the crowds in and out on a busy night. When the check came, there was a little sticker shock. The prices online and the ones posted on their actual menus are way off. Now I don't mind paying for a good meal, but they should really be consistent with what they put online and what they actually charge. They also auto gratuity even for a table of four. Just a few things that made my visit here less than stellar. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.
Loch Bar Happy Hour is a hit!!! On a random Wednesday, my boyfriend and I decided to go to this happy hour (that I've seen good things about on social media). It's always 50-50 seeing viral spots online, but I decided to give it a try since the menus I saw online seemed promising. Loch Bar is located in River Oaks - when you first pull in, you'll have to look for the parking garage behind the restaurant for free parking. The front lot is just for valet ($10 valet). The garage is not a far walk from the restaurant, you'll just need to drive up 3 floors to get to free parking/non-reserved parking. It was not busy on a Wednesday at 5pm. It's open bar seating, and thankfully there were spots at the bar. There were two menus - a special oyster menu (discounted $1 oysters, originally $1.50 on regular HH days, other specialty oysters + grilled oysters for $2.50 which is a steal) and the normal HH menu. I was SO excited to see $1 oysters! I haven't found a place in Houston that generously serves dollar oysters. They were sweet, briny, and came with toppings like vinegar, lemon, tabasco, cocktail sauce, and horse radish. I order a second round after I finished the mere 4 I initially ordered. They varied in sizes, some smaller, some big. Other items I ordered: - Brussel Sprouts 4.5/5 -- these were delish! For me, a little heavy on the honey. They were pretty sweet, but my boyfriend loved them because they were that way. The red peppers they garnish on top are spicy, as a warning lol. - Loch Burger (split between 2 people) 4/5 -- double patty burger. This burger was standard. It wasn't bad. Good for the price and juicy as well. - Cheesy Tater Tots 5/5 -- Not your typical tots, they were layered and deep fried and slightly cheesy. You only get 5 pieces, but they complemented the burger nicely. They even put caviar to top! Granted, it didn't have much texture aside from being salty, but still, very fancy. The service was great. Our waters were filled at all times, and the bartenders were attentive. Only downside was, I think they gave pull apart bread with butter to some people, but we didn't get any when we sat down. I didn't see it on the menu, so not sure if they just missed us. Highly recommend this spot for a happy hour spot to chit chat and have a change of pace to your weeknight, all without breaking the bank and having good food!
$5-$10 bites for happy hour and pretty generous portions. We came towards the end of happy hour and were seated outside on the patio. Heaters were very warm! Service outside was a little on the slower side but our food and drinks came out relatively quickly. Great ambiance for a date or happy hour! - Crushed drinks: tastes like a highball, not too strong. - Moules frites: big fan of the white wine sauce, perfect for dipping bread in. Mussels were on the smaller side and fries were a little disappointing. - Brussels sprouts: so heavenly! Loved the sweetness. - Calamari: not bad but I wouldn't order it again, was on the saltier side. - Oyster shooters: would recommend the vodka over Houston style (beer) but that is personal preference! Overall great vibes will definitely be back for happy hour.
Yum, had a great experience at Loch Bar! We stumbled in after some shopping and were pleasantly surprised to find it was happy hour on a Saturday (3-7 daily!). We were greeted by kind servers and started with complimentary pull-apart bread and butter (amazing). Our table shared the chicken and sausage gumbo (slightly too peppery for our taste, but still so good and I'd absolutely order it again), moules frites, and the Loch Bar burger. The burger was the clear standout. Piled high yet somehow light with every bite rather than overly dense. Paired with a $6 draft beer, it made for a fantastic lunch. The daytime vibe was lovely with the windows open, but I feel like this spot would shine in the evening with the lights low. Can't wait to go back!
Literally the happiest hour on earth! Move over, Disney, there's a new happy place in town! Located in the beautiful Galleria row of high end and luxurious shops and restaurants, the Loch Bar is just another place to be and be seen. Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious! The raw oysters for $1 each was the major win here. I posted the pic of the HH menu and literally ordered everything on there with no regerts. The drinks were also delicious, however, I would skip the oyster shooter with vodka. Yuck! Otherwise, the HH value, service, great tasting food and beautiful ambiance are the total package. Now, Loch it in and get your Happy!
I've come here twice now for happy hour and I love! I've actually had the same server (Dwayne) both times and he is incredible! Super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The vibe is definitely upscale. Perfect for a girls night or a date night. They even have live music on Saturday nights. And the happy hour?!? Every single day from 4-7 plus reverse happy hour from 10-1 on Sundays and Monday's I believe? So I've tried the oysters (which was my first time trying raw oysters and I think I prefer them chargrilled), the beef tenderloin (perfect), and the calamari (on the saltier side but also delicious). For drinks I've tried the sparkling house wine which I enjoyed, the lemon drops, and a French 75 which all were tasty, and more importantly, STRONG. Plus it comes with free bread which has this delicious compound butter on top - so good. Definitely need to come back to try more things on their menu :)
Loch Bar's happy hour is one of my favorites in the city. The drink deals are very good and the food is delicious. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who dislikes seafood and raw shellfish, however, since they really pride themselves on their fresh oysters. We arrived at an odd hour around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and the bar area was very busy and already almost full. I'm not sure the best time to arrive since the bar remained pretty full the entire time we were there, but I would say it is worth the wait. My favorite items were the raw oysters, the mussels and fries, and the complimentary bread. The oysters were a little inconsistent in size and we had a few with shell fragments in them, but overall the oysters were very fresh and sweet. The bread comes out soon after you place your order and the garlic herb butter paired with the slightly crispy crust is an elite combination. The star of the show for me was definitely the mussels and fries. The broth that the mussels come in is perfect for dipping the fries in (and bread if you have any left over at that point). The server that we had was very kind and made us feel comfortable. I would recommend going with a small group and ordering a lot of food and drinks. This place is a great time!
Came here for a quick girls night out ! It's been a minute since the last time I came so I was excited to be back. Service was amazing- thanks Kyanna for the recommendation on my dinner ! Drinks - my friend had the frose and I had the flight "three crush and a slush" which is all their crush cocktails and the frose (pretty good deal if i say so myself) Food - first time I came i had the lobster roll & wasn't impressed but this time around I tried the blackened redfish and it was the best decision i made that night ! Overall - i heard loch bar has a good HH so I'll be back!
" A FAMILY AFFAIR, HOME AWAY FROM HOME" My first time visiting this restaurant and it is surely wears it names well. LOCH means a lake, which offers a feeling and ambiance of relaxation and calmness. This restaurant did not disappoint in taste, ambiance or hospitality. Where do I begin sharing my heartfelt night with this amazing staff. Parking can be a hassle but you have two options, you can self park in garage located on side of building or you can valet park for $10 flat rate. The parking attendant was very kind and nice. He immediately was able to pick up on my accent and gathered my roots are from Louisiana which he shared he also is from Louisiana mainly Lake Charles. He greeted me with the utmost kind gesture, opened my door and he made me feel at home immediately. As I stepped out of car, he requested my phone number for references purposes of obtaining care as we are closing the tab and minimize the wait. As I walk up to the restaurant I cannot help but notice the patio with the beautiful and elegant esthetics. ATLAS group surely outdid themselves with this location and style of restaurant. As I walked in door, I was greeted by THE MAESTRO HIMSELF CHRISTOPHER JOHN ALEXANDER (Manager on DUTY). He immediately sat us in the first booth and I requested to be moved due to the traffic of other guest. He immediately accommodated us but I looked and felt it would have been small because I am a PLUS SIZE WOMAN. He saw the look on my face and moved quickly with asking if I was comfortable, he moved the table and asked several times if I was okay. THIS ALONE WAS A HUGE GESTURE OF KINDNESS. It can be uncomfortable at times having to ask for a larger seat. I was okay after table was moved slightly and shared with him we were celebrating two birthdays as well as all of us turned 5O this year. He kept congratulating us and welcoming us. The Esthetics and scenery is very nostalgic, western, chivalry, dark, moody and romantic. There are two bars, live music, booths, tables and smoothly lit. Then we were greeted by the amazing MACKENIZE OUR WAITRESS. She did not disappoint and we all could not stop thanking her for all of her kindness. She made each one of us feel so special. Her knowledge of the menu as well as making sure as we ordered we understood all of the ingredients would be to our liking. (A MAJOR PLUS to make sure we don't send it back unhappy). Her poise, character, smile, wit and keen sense of humor made this one the most enjoyable nights ever. COMPLIMENTARY GARLIC BREAD ROLL TO DIE FOR AND COME BACK AGAIN. OUR KRYPTONITE!!!! STARTERS CRAB AND ARTICHOKE DIP X 2. Chile after we ate it the first time we politely and quietly requested a second helping. The lump crab meat, speckled amounts of spinach for those who may not like an overpowering amount of spinach, celery, carrots coupled with parmesan cheese and FRESH BAGUETTES. ( reminder of NOLA French bread). ENTREES Lobster Pasta - Very spicy lobster cream sauce (SPICY CAJUN) pieces of whole Maine lobster and bucatini. (Need a little more lobster in my opinion). Blackened Gulf Redfish - Grilled blackened redfish, crawfish cream butter, coarse jalapeno grits, chives and crawfish. (Grits/sauce were room temperature, fish was hot). CHRISTOPHER immediately apologized and explained the plating process; however, he made it right and it was delicious. Lobster roll - Tuesday $25 roll with salad. It is very small with a great helping of Maine lobster on a soft roll. I would suggest ordering two if you are hungry or maybe adding an additional appetizer as a meal option depending on your appetite. Dessert Espresso Martini Smith Island Cake - OH MY GOODNESS. A Seventeen layer cake which includes the ganache and yellow cake (YES I COUNTED). This alone speaks volumes of a restaurant that literally provide exactly what they describe. What you read is what you get. We also received a glass of PAUL CHEVALIER BRUT in celebration of our 50th birthday which was pretty tasty and on the sweet side of the palate. Then to top the evening off CHRISTOPHER kept checking on us, remembered everyone's name and made sure to keep us smiling. He is a great asset to this company. He was even our photographer to make sure our memories were captured perfectly. Mackenzie needs to be the TRAINER because her wit, tactics and attention to preciseness was on point. She made us feel like we were at a FIVE STAR DINING EXPERIENCE. I cannot wait until we all return just to visit CHRISTOPHER AND MACKENIZE AGAIN.
Last night, I enjoyed a food adventure at Loch Bar in Houston. I've had this place on my list for a while, having visited several nearby restaurants and eyeing this one. I chose the chef's three-course sampler: cream of crab soup, oysters, and a half spicy Nashville fried chicken with mashed potatoes and honey sriracha Brussels sprouts. The bread, whose name I don't know, was very good, and for dessert, I had the butter cake. The highlights of the night were the crab soup and the Nashville fried chicken. In my opinion, the cream of crab soup needed jumbo lump crab meat to garnish it. Otherwise, the taste was on point! The fried chicken was cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside and tender inside, with spices that hit the mark. TikTok brought me here and I was pleasantly surprised. While at the dentist I realized this wasn't too far and decided to stop by for happy hour. I got there right in time because it began filling up fast. The hostess is very nice. She explained that open seating is at the first bar but to come back if I didn't find a seat. After a quick walk to the first bar I realized there wasn't any seating and she was able to squeeze me in to a seat at the raw bar. The happy hour menu has a lot of options. The $1 oysters were delicious. I ordered that to start. You have to order at least 3. From the look of the full menu they have a variety of oysters from east to west coast. My waitress Mackenzie was so helpful answering all my questions. She was very personable checking in and making sure I enjoyed everything. To start I ordered a espresso martini with Kahlúa due to her suggestion and oysters. It was delicious! For my second martini I ordered the regular espresso and that was good too followed by a burger. The service was impeccable. The ambience very chic and clean. I will definitely come back here. I would like to experience the live music and etc.
Great happy hour daily that happens daily; including the weekends! You can't beat that! The chops were delicious. Loved the Brussels and the sweet chili sauce it was in. The raw bar looked amazing although I did not get any oysters I heard they taste amazing. The fried calamari was so delicious that I had to order another one. The cocktails were also great! The service was quick and all the food was fresh! Definitely reasonable happy hour prices and deals!
Oh my! All the people that rave about this place are severely buying into the hype and must not really eat a lot of seafood. I feel like this is the #1 place I'm suggested to go to in houston and I don't see why. After a long day moving I treated myself to a lobster roll and mashed potatoes on doordash. And it came fresh so the delivery was not the issue. The lobster had no flavor (maybe im just used to Atlantic lobster?). The butter had no flavor. And the bread had no flavor. The mashed potatoes were crazy over whipped to the point they were gummy and just super strong garlic flavor. For $50 I think this was the worst meal I've had at this price point. I've only been inside for drinks before but for people to say this is the best lobster roll in houston I severely disagree. The special Eddie vs is running rn is sooo much better. read more
Food was incredible. Tasty, well seasoned, and fresh. We got the crab cake sandwich, shells and cheese, and half fried chicken. I would recommend all of them. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Our waiter (I can't remember her name) was always checking in and available as needed. The hostess was also very welcoming. The ambiance was perfect for a date night. Would definitely recommend. Also--their cake is probably one of the best desserts we have had at a restaurant--moist cake with a rich chocolate frosting. As someone who was once a self proclaimed crappy waitress, I give a lot of grace to waitstaff when I dine out. It is a hard and oftentimes under appreciated job and most servers are doing their best. That being said, my service last night was inexcusable. I sat for a while at my table before finally being greeted. By that time, I knew exactly what I wanted to order for the 3 course HRW menu and relayed my choices. My server returned with water... and then disappeared. I was not offered or given bread like the other patrons. Even when I sat at the bar during my last visit, I was given this option. A food runner brought my appetizer, the smoked salmon cake. The cucumber salad was very refreshing, but the cake itself was terribly mushy. The manager came over to speak to me and he likened it to a pate. I then waited around 20 minutes for my entree. This was also brought out by a food runner. I got the Redfish and grits and it was quite tasty. Despite the dish steaming, both the fish and grits were room temp. Only the sauce was hot. I ate my fill and then the wait began again. I was passed countless times by my server and other waitstaff without being acknowledged. I had pushed my plate black and rested my head and my hands looking around, but no one thought to check on me aside from a server assistant who refilled my water. My server had 2 tables directly in front of me that he frequently checked on, laughed with and brought drinks to. He stood at the podium and laughed with his coworkers. He made eye contact with me several times and quickly looked away. It wasn't until I stared him down as he tried to walk past me again that he finally came to my table. He did not apologize or make excuses, he didn't care. I had never been so blatantly disregarded before and it stung. I wasn't rude, I wasn't impatient. But I was alone. And black. It's hard not to assume that an assumption was made that I would not be worth his time. I tipped him, but his poor service was definitely reflected completing his self fulfilling prophecy. I have had great service and great food from Loch Bar before. In fact, both the manager and the woman that sat me last night, a woman with locks, were very kind and personable. I will return as they are a 5 minute walk from my apartment, but I will stick to the bar if I am dining alone. PS- the cheesecake was fine. Definitely premade and then topped with canned apple pie filling, but fine. There also appears to be live music which was a nice touch. read more
I came here during happy hour, and I thought the food was pretty reasonably priced. I got the gumbo and brussels sprouts and they were pretty good. The gumbo was slightly too salty but overall had good flavors and was filling. The brussels sprouts were roasted well and also had good flavor. Service was good and the interior was clean. Loch Bar has a great Happy Hour and food! We came with a group of 10 and they kept the food coming. The Happy Hour and food ranges from 5 to 15 dollars and have a range of fries, steak to Brussels which we loved. I got the gumbo, brussels and tacos unfortunately the tacos didnt make it out. The service was good but they did get a little behind on the drinks. I will def come back with a smaller group. read more

Loch Bar really delivered during happy hour. I tried the burger along with their cheesy tater tots, and both were spot on. The burger was cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a classic bar burger. The cheesy tater tots were honestly perfect: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and covered in just the right amount of cheese. My only complaint is that I wish the portion was bigger--I could've easily eaten more than five. Overall, great food, great value, and even better knowing it was all under happy hour. Definitely coming back. read more

Came here for HRW and let me tell you - it was a total deal and super worth it. Located in the upscale RO district, this restaurant gives strong NOLA vibes. Parking in the garage is free, but you can choose to valet if you're feeling fancy. Their HRW menu was set at $55. We started off with the complimentary bread with herb garlic butter melted on top which was delicious. For my three courses I ordered the striped bass ceviche, gulf redfish and crème brûlée - all portions were big and was definitely worth the price point. The ceviche had a lot fish and was served with taro chips which was nice and light. The redfish was served on delicious creamy savory grits and topped with crawfish butter. I was honestly stuffed after that but then we had still had dessert, and as full as I was I still finished the crème brûlée. My wife got the salmon toast, Maryland crab cake and s'mores blonde sundae. Salmon towas good. The crab cakes however were legit. Reminded me of crab cakes we had in Annapolis! The blondie sundae was good and was basically just a fancy pizokie. Service was prompt and very friendly. Shout out to our server Tatianna. To add, they have live music every night which adds to the Nola atmosphere. They also have a full bar. Definitely a great meal. Super worth it if you're going for HRW. We will definitely be back to try the seafood tower and their happy hour deals. read more

Loch bar is a Houston staple! I am usually able to walk in and easily get seating at the bar or in the dining area. A lot of great options on their menu, I love the bread and mussels for a light snack. Sometimes there is live music so great place for happy hour or to spend time with friends on the weekends. Also love that they have TVs by the bar during game days. read more

Came for Houston Restaurant Week menu. It was kind of hard to find the place once parked, but eventually we found it. Loch Bar is behind the La Colonial restaurant and off to the right once behind the building. We were greeted with smiles and seated quickly upon entering. The restaurant is small and intimate. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered off of the Houston Restaurant Week menu for $55 per person. For the first course we had the smoked salmon toast and potato skins caviar. Both dishes personally lacked flavor and the salmon and caviar was salty. First time trying caviar by the way. For the second course we had the Blackened Gulf Redfish and the Maryland crab cake. I enjoyed the redfish and my mom said the crab cake was okay. We did order a side of the Brussel sprouts and those were very tasty. Third course we both ordered the s'mores blonde Sundae. The dessert was decent, but could have used more than a scoop of ice cream for the cookie. My dad had the seafood gumbo and the roux tasted like gravy instead of a seasoned gumbo. I gave this restaurant a three star rating, because their dishes were overpriced and lacked flavor. I personally wouldn't visit this place again, but would recommend anyone to try it once and form their own opinion. read more

WOW! I'm actually blown away at this place. The happy hour and lobster roll deal is truly where it's at here!!! You have to be seated in a certain area for the happy hour menu so be sure to clarify that with your waiter/hostess. They were accommodating for us! On Tuesdays they do a $25 lobster roll which is truly the best! Thick chunks of real lobster meat, a great bun/roll, and delicious clarified butter. The fries that come with are also great. My husband upgraded to a Caesar salad which wasn't worth it so go for the fries or regular salad! The oysters are $1.50 on the HH menu are great. They come with the regular works and also mignonette sauce. The $5 and $10 bites on the HH are great too! We got the calamari and the potato skins and caviar bites. Even the complimentary bread with chive butter was amazing! The cream of crab soup was delectable. We ended with a passion fruit creme brulee which was great. Food and service here were great! Went here for my birthday dinner and it was the perfect dinner date. We were seated at a bar table and the bar staff was so attentive and extremely friendly, while being busy you wouldn't even know it, because they spent time with us, shared favorites, offered suggestions when asked and just made great genuine small talk. Then onto the food which was all so worth it! We actually did the houston restaurant weeks menu so we got a taste of a few things. The salmon toast to start was delicious in flavor! There's also live music which was nice background to the great ambiance of the restaurant. Definitely will be back! read more

We went to Loch Bar for my birthday this year and this is how it went. I was so excited to try the Lobster Roll, but the Lobster was so overcooked and rubbery that I couldn't even chew it. I tried the Red Fish and the Salmon, both overcooked as well. The manager came over and offered to replace my lobster roll (I was the only one who said anything in my group). I then ordered the crab cake that was baked, and it was so much better. I chose this restaurant because of the Hoiston Restaurant Weeks event that goes on every year around my birthday. They did have a great selection. Though because it was my birthday when ordering our desserts, they should've told us the birthday dessert was one we were already getting, so we didn't get it twice. Though happy that we had the options to try several things by using this event here. The courses were also not spaced out well. With the tabled being smaller we had to try to stack things on other plates to make room. The manager and waitress were really nice and professional. Though I probably wouldn't go back. There's no parking unless you want to valet, which we did only to watch them park our car right by the valet stand. We could've done that ourselves. read more

Cute quiet nice place, I sat at the bar I ordered a French 75 made with gin my bartender was gage! Gage was the perfect bartender, nice conversation and he made some great drinks! Oysters were 7/10 they were seasoned right, but I was hoping for more flavor, but overall not too bad. lobster roll 7/10 the lobster didn't come seasoned at all, which I get! So get some sauce or black pepper and salt on the side.. read more

Just wanted to jot down the middle note to myself about my recent trip to Loch- wow what an absolutely incredible time I had there! Seriously their happy hour is simply phenomenal; I genuinely think it might be the best one I've experienced in ages. Everything about the visit was just spot on the food was utterly delicious, really hitting the mark and the drinks? They were out of this world, perfectly crafted, and so refreshing definitely need to keep that place in mind for future outings.. read more

Loch Bar delivered on every front! We came specifically for the raw oysters and left already planning our next visit. They had an impressive selection from both coasts, and every oyster was fresh, cold, and briny in the best way. My personal favorites were the Pink Moon and Matagorda Pearls. Pink Moon was sweeter while the Matagorda Pearls had a saltier note. While we didn't explore the rest of the menu this time, the oyster experience alone has me excited to come back and try more. Service: From start to finish, the service was top-tier, attentive, and very welcoming. Ambiance: We sat outdoors, which was lovely. The vibe was upscale but relaxed, with a subtle buzz in the air that made for a perfect evening. You can tell Loch Bar knows how to create a refined yet inviting atmosphere. Incredible happy hour menu! This is the spot, the food service and vibes inside were unmatched. Our servers name was Seven and she explained the menu so well and was so attentive to our table!!! Complimentary bread comes out for the table. Oysters were amazing, so was the gumbo and burger off of the HH menu. Valet was $10 also a parking garage close by. Always a great time at loch bar! The food is as consistent as the service! To be honest I don't always love the live music choices but when it's good it's great! The lobster roll is an absolute must have! The calamari is a 6/10 pretty good but lacks flavor. read more

Love this restaurant! We came on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation, but was able to get seated right away. Food: 5/5 we ordered some drinks and tried out their raw bar selection + some great appetizers. Everything was delicious! If you can't decide on a drink, get the "3 crush & a slush" which is a flight of various drinks, was delicious! Service: 5/5 we asked for some substitution items on our charcuterie board and they happily obliged. Our server was helpful and gave some recommendations Ambiance: 5/5 the restaurant was high end and had a great ambiance overall. Seems to be a great spot for birthday celebrations or a special date night! We'll be back! read more
Food was amazing, very flavorful and fun combinations. The Cajun fish dish was delicious & took me right back to my childhood visiting Louisiana. The service was great and very friendly. Loch Bar really delivered during happy hour. I tried the burger along with their cheesy tater tots, and both were spot on. The burger was cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a classic bar burger. The cheesy tater tots were honestly perfect: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and covered in just the right amount of cheese. My only complaint is that I wish the portion was bigger--I could've easily eaten more than five. Overall, great food, great value, and even better knowing it was all under happy hour. Went here with friends for happy hour on Veterans Day, they took 50% off the entire tab. We tried the ceviche, calamari, Siracha Brussel sprouts and four dozen oysters. There was a short wait, roughly 15 mins before we got sat down outside. They had live music playing, and people were generally enjoying the whole vibe. read more

Came for HH to celebrate my friends bday! The place is decorated like a cigar bar meets old-timey whiskey lounge. Very chill and dark & stormy vibes. It was not crowded at all due to the rainy weather, which was great to me. Made the service fast. I appreciated the ambiance. Further into our dining experience, there was a one man band playing smooth, soulful music. It was nice. Service - out server Taylor gave us just enough attention and came through with her recommendations. But all the staff that came by our table to drop off or pick up items were good. Drinks - I stuck with the HH menu. Sadly, they have changed up their menu versus what is on their website. There are only 4 different cocktails on it now. But they still have beer & wine. First, I had Life on Mars. Next, I had So Fresh So Clean. Both drinks were great, and with HH pricepoint of $10, even better. Food- I ordered the Loch burger, and it comes all by itself. I also ordered the Moules Frites after a recommendation from Taylor. Which is mussels in butter & herbs along with 2 pieces of toasted bread. The Moules came with fries. Moules wasn't bad, I wanted the sauce to be a bit richer in flavor, but perhaps this is how the original dish is actually supposed to be, just as presented. I'm not sure? Last I got Shells in Cheese, this dish needs a makeover, no flavor! My friend, I think, for the most part, enjoyed her food. The HH Loch Burger & and Parmesan fries which are not on HH menu. And her drinks. My only complaint was that after I paid and left, and then more carefully reviewed my receipt, there was an error. They definitely overcharged me and did not give me the HH price for one of the burgers. Womp! read more
Came here on a Monday night for a birthday celebration and am sad I haven't been here before! I love the ambiance of this restaurant, the decor makes you feel like you're in New York or someplace other than Houston. The vibes are great for a date night, or girls dinner out or just a solo date! Our waitress was phenomenal, and I didn't get her name! She was super kind, attentive and informative. She gave fantastic drink selection choices from the regular and HH menu and when I wanted my drink in a coupe to feel all special, she happily obliged and all my drinks came that way going forward! It's all in the details! The food the food! My friend ordered the Moules de frites, and it was absolutely delicious. They came in some deliciousness of a sauce that you could literally just drink! I'd highly recommend as an appetizer. She also ordered the Mac and cheese, which we both thought was ok. It was hot and cheesy, but nothing special that made our minds go boom! It needs a cheese that will make the sauce creamier and maybe some lobster and boom that could really be something. We both also ordered the Loch burger and I got Parmesan truffle fries. The burger was absolutely amazing! Cooked to perfection at the med temp I ordered. It's a pretty big burger and the sauce on the burger, chefs kiss! I loved the parm truffle fries and I love that it came in a cast iron dish because they stayed hot throughout the meal! Last but not least, at 8 you start to hear this beautiful music play and realize that there's a live musician playing some beautiful jazz of the latest and greatest rnb songs. They've got music I believe every night and it was nice to have that on a Monday evening. Overall I will most definitely be back to Loch Bar to try some more amazing food and drinks! read more
