The real deal. True Cue! (Take the True Cue pledge at http://www.truecue.org/the-pledge) Drove up today from NRH to finally give LC a try at lunch. Well worth the drive. These cats have got it going on. If you know real Texas BBQ you know what you will find here. Solid Central Texas style BBQ. We ordered a pound of brisket from the point and a pound of ribs. No sides. Both were all that we are looking for in BBQ brisket and ribs. Perfection on both meats: rendering, smoke, seasoning, bark, rib meat to bone relationship, etc. Everything one expects from meats properly cooked over post oak on offset pits. Offset pits! The sauce here is quite nice and an especially great compliment to the pork ribs. Didn't ask if house made but I assume it is. Three beers on tap (Dos Equis, Shiner and wus Lite : ) along with several others in cans. No vino. Just go!

05/9/2025 Friday 11:50. Local craft is right on the road past the post office so keep an eye out. A throw back to small town Americana. A little joint with a hopping business as such the parking is not quiet enough but the dollar store will do. There was a little line, nothing too crazy. 1 person taking orders and manning the register, 4 good folks behind her preparing the various items. Everyone was moving quickly and no one seemed frazzled or stressed. It has ample seating in my opinion. They serve burgers too, but I came for the brisket and pork belly. Paired with green chili corn and baked beans. The brisket. One of the best I have ever had. Hear me out, it was not the moistest, dissolve in your mouth brisket (think Pecan lodge), but it was a good meaty, moist brisket. Had a great chew and the bark and seasoning were perfect! Not too peppery. What put this brisket at a five star for me, despite the moist aka fatty (for you real bbq folks) it was not heavy. I can put it any better than that. The fat gave it flavor and moisture but not too much. The smoke delicate but permeated the entire meat! Wow! The pork belly is sliced like brisket instead of the usual cubes. I think perhaps this is what lent to the dryness and not quite hit enough. That having been said, the flavor and smoke was spot on. I didn't mind the dryness because of the flavor. This pork belly would have been amazing hot and fresher. The sides. Creamed corn wasn't exactly creamed but good. The beans a little on the tangy side, which I like. Of course, I don't go for the sides. It is really great when I find one or two that can give the meat a run for its money! I highly recommend this place for really, really good cue.

Had the brisket, pork brisket, and my wife had the baked potato. It was the largest potato we have ever seen. Food was fantastic. Great environment. Got to meet "Rocky" the owner who was friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend this for BBQ

I'm so full I can hardly write this review!! Oh My Gosh and I happy we discovered this little gem off the beaten path! The BBQ was mind blowing! Best BBQ I have had in quite awhile. Had the Craft plate- 4 meats and choice of 3 sides. Turkey, Pulled Pork, Brisket and Pork Belly. Turkey was thick, tender and extremely juicy. Pulled Pork was a bit dry and over shredded, but still tasty. Brisket was a little tough and semi-dry. Pork belly was tender and flavorful but not overly-greasy. Sides: Baked Potato Salad was wonderful, a nice change up from regular potato salad. Chili screamed corn was surprisingly good. Mac and cheese was creamy and had just the right amount of crispy topping on it. Not a big place so during super busy time there would not be seating. Staff was very friendly and sweet. Overall very good place for a weekend lunch!!!

This place is right around the corner from the First Baptist Church of Newark, where I have been serving as interim pastor since February. I've been wanting to try it since they opened in March, but I'm only over here on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. They are closed on Sunday, so I came over early before the Wednesday evening service. I'm now full and happy. The brisket was stellar - A+! Ribs very good - A. Green chile creamed corn - B+. Baked beans - B. I would have them all again, but want to sample the other choices as well. I have gone here consistently since I moved to the area a little over a year ago and not one time have they or their food disappointed me or my family. They even catered a large party we threw on our property that had nearly 100 people there, and everybody walked away full and happy. This is the best barbecue in town, or ever. read more

What a great gem in the 287 corridor! The short drive off the beaten path is worth it for this great BBQ joint! We had the ribs, brisket and turkey and all were excellent! Ribs are heavy on the rub, we loved it but may not be for all. Brisket was moist and flavorful Turkey was perfect. Staff was friendly, helpful and fast. There is no need to drive to up to Roanoke or down to Fort Worth for the best local BBQ. Once word gets out about LocalCraft people will start knocking the door down to get some! read more

Awesome local TX BBQ! We stopped in for lunch for the first time and we're not disappointed. We both had the brisket sandwich with sides. Brisket was done perfect and there was lots of it on the sandwich. For sides he has the green beans (awesome!) and I had the corn (also awesome). Can't wait to come back and try the ribs! read more

Just finished our lunch at this awesome joint! The bbq is fantastic, so flavorful. Hubby had ribs and I had chopped brisket, mother in law had the holy-peño special. Sides were Mac n chz, potato salad, green beans, and creamed corn - all so so satisfying! The cherry bombs were to die for!! Late lunch Saturday! Delicious BBQ and sides. We are so excited to have this place close to where we live. The brisket was tender and marbled. The pepper sausage was awesome. The pork ribs were huge and tasty. We added pork burnt ends (Saturdays) and Cherry Bombs (stuffed-smoked Jalepenos with pimiento cheese wrapped in back and sauced with a cherry bbq sauce. Our sides were the creamed corn and Mac n Cheese. The corn was amazing. The Mac could have used some salt but was good overall. We pigged out and brought home leftovers. The atmosphere is typical of a BBQ place with picnic tables inside and country music playing. It's not overly smoky which I appreciate. Free, beer Saturday, so snag you a cold one from the cooler. First time here and for sure won't be the last. Very welcoming staff the lady behind the counter is the sweetest and so informative. We had the smash burger with queso fries! 10 out 10 cooked perfectly. It's exactly the kind of burger we have been looking for. This bbq is so good. I moved here to the Haslet area from Kansas City, where the bbq is top notch. This is as good or better than anything I've had there. The smoke, the texture, the brisket and pulled pork melt in your mouth. The ribs have a little kick to the rub. The chicken and turkey were moist and perfectly smoked. The sides are homemade and delish. Little family place in a sleepy town with a very kind accommodating staff. I just can't say enough. We will be going a couple of times a month. read more

My Dad heard about this place on a Facebook BBQ page and so we went to try it out today. We both got sliced brisket sandwiches and Mac and cheese. The brisket passed the no sauce test with flying colors and the bun was good and perfectly crunchy on the underside. The brisket was super tender and tasted amazing! The Mac and cheese was actually cheesy and good. Their craft root beer was delicious as well! We'll definitely back for more! read more

The food was the juiciest burger you have ever had so delicious when you held the bun there was burger juice in the bun and it melted in your mouth so good go there all the time I recommend this business love it so much. Everybody should go here to eat everybody in Rhome and Newark should eat here service was also so kind they had a sweet old lady at the front counter who helped me so much with the things it comes with, the ketchup and the sweet old lady helped me find the soda machine. read more

Heard about this BBQ place and had to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all!! We even took some more to go for the week. Customer service is awesome and the staff is so friendly. Had a chance to try the brisket is Juicy SEASONED, NO sauce needed!!! Jalepeno cheesy sausage is the bomb!!!! Pork belly.... AMAZING!!!! The sides are perfect. The desserts.... Peach cobbler... Imma have to tell my momma I found one better than hers! And that peanut butter banana pudding.... Yep! Sounds crazy but it is so freaking good!!!!!! We cannot say enough. I found your next BBQ obsession. This little place has it ALL in spades, and I'm not exaggerating. I grew up in Texas and have eaten at almost every BBQ joint that has been raved about in this state, and I'm telling you, you need to go try this place! It is a serious contender with some of the best BBQ out there! I promise you won't be disappointed! They do it right. Ribs were good and had a different tasting rub than the brisket, and BOTH rubs were good! Brisket was falling apart, well-marbled, with a solid bark, and that flavor was seriously impressive! You know it's good when I found myself shaking my head in amazement after each bite. Mac-n-cheese was good, but I did add a little salt. The creamed corn had the great green chilies flavor without much kick. I usually prefer the heat, but the flavor combo on this was smooth! I will definitely be back and bringing friends. This is a unique, "hidden treasure" in Newark, TX. We have tried almost everything on the menu, including sides (which remind you of your Mother's home cooking) - all rate an A+. Portions are large, flavor exceptional and the service is always friendly and helpful. They have added pulled pork and brisket tacos to the menu which we are anxious to try.
