Had a horrible recent experience, and we will not return. I ordered a #4 (5 wing combo) and was…read morelater told I wasn't charged for the fries. I'm not sure how that happens when ordering a combo (I paid $9.31 and the combo was $9.99), but I didn't want to make a fuss since I knew it wasn't the $10.81 with tax (I thought she gave me a student discount or something) and was open to paying whatever difference. I DID chuckle though, thinking, 'they really want this $1.00 and some change,' but I charged it to economy-- and hard times. However, I was told the fries would be an additional $2.59, which is full price. Huh? I attempted to gain understanding, which I'm sure the pressure for the additional money was coming from the man cooking vs. the lady as the messenger, but didn't understand and wasn't paying full price. Fast forward to receiving food, I was told they allowed a 1/2 order of fries since I didn't purchase them. I was done. Chyle... food was terrible. Honey mustard wings were overcooked, tasteless and drowned in sauce. My "free" 1/2 order of fries were cooked too hard for the size. No one in our party was impressed and we felt the food was extremely bland (mind you we ordered a bit of everything). Upon leaving we went straight to Jersey Mike's. This used to be a place we'd frequent if in the area, but it's gone further downhill. It's sad because we love family owned restaurants--but we will not return.

Unique tasting wings. Small, but have a very god original flavor. Must try place in Denton.read more

My 1/2 order of overcooked fries. They're too skinny to be cooked this hard.

Well, our last visit might be our last visit. When you have to get your own drink from the bar…read morebecause it's been sitting there getting warm while your server is on his phone, and when your food is finally served it's overly salty and room temperature, maybe it's time to go elsewhere. I know new owners took over within the last year, and we were hopeful the changes would be good. They've added trivia night and music bingo night (common schtick stuff to bring in business), there are a lot of new faces (staff and patrons), and prices have gone up while service and food quality are going down. Here's a business model idea: instead of packing the place with the karaoke night crowd, provide proper training for your staff to ensure stand-out food and service--that'll pack the place with regulars (like we used to be) who become the bread and butter of your establishment.

I came in not expecting much but I loved it!…read more The service, food, and food was all great. We sat down at the bar for a little lake-side lunch date and had the pleasure of being served by the lovely bartender (wish I could remember her name). I ordered a mule and grilled chicken sandwich (yum) and my partner had some beers and a fried fish plate. The portion sizes are huge which of course we loved and the menu pricing is totally reasonable too. If I find myself close by, I'll definitely be stopping be again! Perhaps on the patio next time. :)

Typically, I rate based on several visits to get an overall picture of the place, but I will bypass the rule if the experience was exceptional (#1). Mike's was downright excellent. I ate the food warm and I ate it cold, and I'm still thinking about it. I tried to save some time by ordering online and also bypass any potential lines. Thankfully, there were none when I arrived, but a very full house of happy eaters despite being well past primetime lunch hours. The staff was friendly in the front but fielding many orders at the same time. I missed the literal pick up window outside, but was happy to get a gander of what it looks like inside. There's plenty of seating for groups and the place seemed a lot cleaner than the divey narratives folks emphasized. Prices were not astronomical, as I paid $14 and $13 for an order of 4 tenders + 2 sides, as well as 2 wings and 2 sides. The tenders were nothing like a Raising Cane's with skimpy portions and high price tags, instead it was plump, crispy, and perfectly fried. The accompanying sauces (Mike's sauce + buffalo sauce) were excellent additions and complimented the crispy fries. I was extremely impressed with the mac & cheese and very flavorful, mashed potatoes and gravy. The wings were no different: soft exterior with a nice crunch, meaty chunks off the bone, and wasn't too greasy. While the green beans weren't the most memorable side, the creamy corn was strangely addicting. Next time, I'm ordering the sides separately and in a large. I can only hope the other locations are just as good and will make good effort to visit them all. It's a rare occasion to be this infatuated with a place, but I'm confident it will be the first on my return list when I'm back in Dallas again. ___________ (#1) Or exceptionally bad.

All of the sides are really good too. Tip: Order online and don't call. I called 8 times trying to get an update on my online order and they didn't answer once. When I arrived they had everything ready and it was all correct though.

Only to be stabbed in the heart when I realized Wingstop had completely gotten rid of the fries I have long known, loved, and was specifically craving. The new fries were hot and freshly fried, but nearly flavorless. The new "sweet and salty seasoning" is a far cry from what it was. Powdery, dusty and lack luster.. barely there. Not granules of sugar and salt like the old days. The potatoes seem like completely different potatoes. No skin. An unfamiliar golden brown color, and again, boring and near flavorless. Wings are still alright but I will not be coming back, because the signature fries they got rid of are what MADE the meal. Sad to know I never in my life will again get to experience REAL Wingstop® Fries. A damn shame. They also got rid of the tea machine that made my favorite green tea of course, the only thing I would get at Wingstop. Cutting costs by changing things that people love will continue to lose you customers! I hope Wingstop reconsiders their terrible decision in doing this. I would rate it a 0 if I could for the complete and utter betrayal.
