I had wanted to try this restaurant. Everything on their website looked good. I read the reviews and even though there were some bad ones, I figured I would still give it a go because it look awesome. We arrived, the place was packed. My date and I were stoked. We went in and got seated, the waitress came over took our drink order and appetizer. My date ordered a shot of Casamigos resposado tequila. One of the managers came over and said she was sorry to inform that they were out. A minute later the waitress returns with our drinks. My date asked her if the drink was Casamigos that she ordered, she said yes. Skeptical we called over the manager who informed us they were out. She went back and checked and said, she misspoke. Cool! We placed our order. We ordered the Spicy shrimp tacos, Lemon Pasta and Penne Rustica. The order arrived and the shrimp tacos were beef not shrimp. We sent it back of course. The food was ok at best. The service was dismal. Then we get the bill and one shot of tequila was more than any entree we ordered. $17 for one shot of Casamigos reposado! Not a double shot, a single shot. I was like this can't be right. I asked the waitress to get a manager and confirm, surely enough he said it was correct but he would discount the shot. No place is perfect day in and day out so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and just say this was an off night and maybe new staff. I am a firm believer in second chances, so maybe I will try again but not in the near future. PS, I am not a big drinker so I had the strawberry spritz, best part of the meal! read more

Tried this place out for the first time recently and was not disappointed! The staff from entry to table were very friendly and welcoming. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations, I ordered the margarita pizza and it was delicious! Cucumber martini was also amazing! The manager, Lopez, was pretty much in eye sight the entire time and checking on guests making conversation. I love to see managers on the floor chatting it up so that was great to see. He eventually made his way to our table and chatted for a minute and was very charming and friendly. Over all, we had a great time and we will be back! read more

Every time I am in Houston I visit Local Table and/or Local Bar. The food is delicious and huge bonus is that it relieves the travel blues by giving my body the boost it needs. Reasonable faire and drinks. Wine list is adequate and well rounded. Cocktails are great. Last but never least, the service is first rate. Servers are attentive and managers are always about, both assisting and helping. I live in Blackhorse next to the restaurant. I told my wife let's go support the local table since there a neighborhood establishment. First of all, I was charged a take out 4% fee just for the to go order. What the fuck, I'm trying to help you stay the fuck open and your scamming me 4% for doing your as a favor. Also, I ordered the chicken fried chicken, breading was good, potatoes had no sauce on them, making them dry. On top of the chicken fry was a teaspoon of sauce with a sliver of artichoke on it. On the side was crisp green beans which were eye candy, looked delicious. Then I bit into one, unfortunately I should have just looked at it because it begged for seasoning, olive oil, flavor, salt. Wife got a salad, luckily for her trained ape can put lettuce in a container, nothing elseI did share my experience with neighbors who agreed what BS it is to charge when people are trying to help keep the damn place open in the first time. I say fuck it, if you want to go eat there, go for it. Never again will they get anything from this corner of Blackhorse. Update. - the vulgarity in my review was from the disgust I felt of price gouging when I am making an effort to support your place. First of all, Not told about it when order was placed, second of all not told about it at all. I had to study the bill to even see the charge of something I never asked for. I'm not sure why I would ask for a manager, who may or may not remove the charge, when the neighborhood should know about my experience. The food is fantastic. The staff does a great job keeping the restaurant clean and observing COVID protocols. Burger, gyro pita, Baja wrap, and the club with bacon jam are all hits with us for lunch. This is a refreshing place in the suburbs to eat. Love the vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. I ordered the blue crab cakes as an appetizer and the Kale Salad with grilled shrimp asmy entree. While the crab cakes were good but overcooked. My salad was fresh, filling and fabulous. The shrimp added a hint of hickory smokiness with the sweetness of the candied walnuts and cranberries.
