We have had several good meals at Local Post. The experience has consistently been going down. Our last visit was a disaster. We watched and watched as the first part of our food sat in the window. Finally, the cook saw us watching, and sent someone out with it. The pizza was dry. The falafel burger and fries were greasy, and fairly cold. The fries did not look cooked. Again someone other than our server brought over our other pizza. That pizza was soggy. When our server finally came to check on us, her response to us showing her how the food was was, "it's not normally like that." She then gave a shrug. We just asked for the bill. Having not received a single refill on drinks, and the server's nonchalant attitude, we were ready to go. On our visit before this one, the pizza we received was not the pizza we ordered. Due to the pizza having ingredients on it that we do not eat, we had to ask for our order to be corrected. Waiting for a new pizza made our visit take almost two hours. We did not really have that much time. That time, our server was extremely apologetic. It took us almost 4 months, but we did come back. I am still giving them 3 stars, because we have had several great meals at Local Post. I'm just now sure how much confidence I have in them anymore. read more

This is yet another one of those quintessential spots that I've passed by countless times but never visited... Until today for lunch. Worth the stop? Absolutely! Especially since Tuesdays feature all burgers with fries for $6.99. How could a burger lover resist that temptation? The place itself is really cool too. Not huge but plenty of comfy seating, whether inside or outside on the back patio. Their menu features all sorts of goodies and not just burgers. They also have pizzas, salads, wings, bruschetta, and more. As for libations, they have a full bar, wine, and a very nice beer selection. I grabbed a spot at the bar and was greeted immediately. Of course I was thinking burger, and after a few minutes of perusing, I opted for the royale with cheese (American cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, and Posty sauce served on 16 Brix focaccia bread). The fries were seasoned just right and the burger was legit one of the best I've had in a while. I had to take a moment and text my lady that we should come here together next time. This is one stop I should have made sooner but am still glad I made. Chances are very high I'll be going again, hopefully with my lady next time. read more

I had heard good things, but the Groupon was the final push to get me to go out to the east side and check this spot out, and I am very very happy that I did. My partner and I enjoyed a really nice weekend lunch. She went for a dry rub set of wings, and a half salad. I had the grilled cheese add chicken and upgraded from the chips to a side salad. Her half salad was absolutely massive! It scares me to think about what a full salad would look like. My side salad was... Substantially smaller. Actually to the point that I was a little upset that it was $5 to upgrade to that or six and some change to get the ridiculous half salad she got. That being said my meal was plenty feeling as it is. Three or four different types of cheeses, a few ounces of chicken breast, and thick buttery bread made this a grilled cheese perfect for a cold day. I had an okay experience on my first visit here. I went with a good friend and we decided to share a few things. The bruschetta had way too much onion and garlic for my preference. We also split a grilled cheese sandwich- it was good but I wouldn't necessarily seek it out. My favorite thing that we tried were the house made BBQ chips- very flavorful and tasty. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. I would be willing to come back again but would probably experiment with different menu items. read more

Nice find wedged into the ever redeveloping Eastern Ave. neighborhood after Kirrikin was unexpectedly closed on a recent Sunday night. Great cocktails, tasty bar food with a Cincinnati flair, and nice, friendly service. If I still lived in the hood in nearby Tusculum, I'd probably come hang out here a lot. The dry rub wings look and sound amazing...they are good, but they were missing a little something, maybe salt, but kudos to them for not oversalting their food. Easy to park on surrounding streets and pop on in. My only complaint is we were (somewhat significantly) overcharged for our drinks (receipt didn't match advertised prices), which they remedied, but how does this happen? That annoys me, especially if we hadn't noticed. I will return again, but I'll keep a close accounting of my bill. read more

Great newish bar/restaurant in the east end of Cincy. Craft cocktails, wine and an extensive beer list with a lot of craft and local brews. But I gotta tell ya about the cheese curds appetizer. Little gently and lightly fried pillows of heaven! Comes with a sriracha aioli but they would gladly substitute another sauce if you preferred a less spicy one. Plenty of other appetizer selections. Burgers, sandwiches, pizza and wings with a selection of house made dry rubs, as well as interesting salads for the vegans or those of us who just have to have something green with our meal. This is not your cookie cutter kind of food. All is freshly made, including all sauces, rubs and salad dressings, with attention to detail. There is a lower level with cozy seating, bar and pool table. Weather permitting, they have a great back area with outdoor games, picnic style seating and music in the evening. I don't know that this usually happens, but, the waiter was hanging out with some friends at a table inside and at times felt like he was no where to be found. I was pleasantly surprised by our visit here last night. The atmosphere when you walk in is very relaxed, low lighting and background music make for a very comfortable weeknight dinner. I started with their fall cocktail special "Fireside chat" which was a perfect remedy for the chilly evening, garnished with a full cinnamon stick. We lucked out on it being Pizza Week and tried their specialty pizza they're offering this week only, it was delicious. Their pizza crust is close to perfect, not greasy at all, with a nice crispy crunch and soft dough combo, which is very hard to do. I decided to try their dry rub wings, the Mexicali, I could not stop eating these. They just might be my new favorite flavor for wings! The rub has brown sugar in it so it's a really perfect mixture of spicy and just a touch of sweet. My date had the standard burger which looked delicious, and the Saratoga chips on the side might just be the best I've ever had. They have a good selection of beers and wines and their list of specialty cocktails is sure to please a wide range of tastes. I have heard they get pretty crazy on the weekends, can't vouch for the service during the busy times but our server last night did an excellent job. Food okay. Horribly rude and entitled server. Came for lunch. Ordered 2 beers, 1 appetizer, 3 entrees. bill was $91. Did quick estimated 15% in my head for tip and gave $12. Bill, tax, tip came to to over $109. As we left for our car, server comes outside and walked quite a way to find us and ask "just checking to see if everything was okay" in snarky tone. Obviously getting her point across that she was upset with tip. First of all that was totally rude and entitled no matter the tip amount. Even if it had been much less. But a $12 tip was very adequate for a lunch bill of $91. Sad thing is that my daughter recently moved to the area. They are looking for restaurants to support locally and also a place to bring friends. But they won't be visiting this place again. we had a lovely time together and the food was good, but I left there with a very violated feeling. read more

I dropped off my car at a nearby mechanics and came here since it was so close. The day was beautiful and loved sitting at the bar with the windows fully opened. It was rather peaceful inside with not a lot of people but it was perfect. Michael was the only bartender and told me about the burger deal on Tuesdays. Got myself the east end burger at his recommendation. It was delicious!!! A classic American burger, that's both juicy and fulfilling. Even the fries were great. The only fries Ive ever ate that I didn't need ketchup with. Will def have to come back to try out more things on the menu. Especially on beautiful days like today. read more

Came here to eat for the first time today. I've been here before during a Columbia Tusculum bar crawl, but only drank, never ate. The local Burger Week specials brought me in here today. It was probably not the best day to come in terms of service because not only was it Burger Week ($5 burger specials) but also Trivia Night. So it was packed and seemed to be short staffed for the crowd. When we first got there they said the wait could be up to 2 hours. Luckily that wasn't the case and we got seated after 10-15 minutes, but there would be no way I would have been able to wait that long. They have a bar downstairs and we ended up ordering a drink down there that we brought up. We promptly placed our orders since we knew we wanted the burger specials. However, it took maybe 45min- 1 hour to get our food. The waitresses were also so overwhelmed they never came around to ask for drinks or to refill any water, etc.. You'd have to spot them and stop them to place an order. Luckily we decided to play trivia since we were already there and they had some great prizes to give out. It was a special trivia night (Battle of the Breweries) so they had local Rhinegeist and Madtree gear and gift baskets and gift cards to Local Lost. Trivia was fun and interesting. The trivia MC is fun and hosts it well. It takes about 2 hours since there are 6 rounds and bonuses throughout. When our food finally can out, I wasn't disappointed. The burger was well seasoned with garlic and other spices and I thought it was the perfect patty to bun and toppings ratio. The burger was the perfect size and everything inside. It stayed together well so you had everything in every bite. That's important to me because I hate having giant burgers that fall apart because they are lazy to cut onions small or break up the lettuce and they have buns that get soggy or broken for the size of the patty, etc...I got to enjoy every bite of the burger as it should be. I got the burger with the regular sides it comes with which was seasoned chips. It's like Saratoga chips but even better because they are a bit fluffy. The seasoning was making. I could order that every time I go as a snack while drinking. The burger is smaller than some places but it's what I'd expect for burger week and also was the perfect amount of food for dinner. I didn't feel like I overate, which I sometimes do with burgers. I'll definitely be back to have that burger again after burger week to let things chill down a bit. Was looking up good burger spots in the Cincy area and stumbled onto this place. The local post has a great vibe with a low key feeling and overall comfortable spot. The back patio area is awesome with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy sunshine along with a cornhole setup thats pretty epic. They have a great selection of on draft local brews which I indulged, and the burger itself did not disappoint. I ordered the 7718, and it was absolutely money. The posty sauce slaps. I definitely would suggest upgrading to the fries, they are super solid and definitely worth it. Overall the service was fast, super nice all around and a solid easy-going brewpub to catch a game read more

To quote my mom, "this is what I expect when I go out to eat... where everything is a notch above. Like there is no one thing that stands out and everything else is just okay. Everything on my plate is just excellent." She got the grilled cheese - which was definitely fantastic as were their fries and the tomato bisque was truly phenomenal. I had the wings - which the spices were really great and delicious. Unfortunately, the wings were kinda small and a tiiiiny bit over cooked (dry inside). Which if I have to pick between u der and overcooked - I'll take over any day. The blue cheese and ranch dip were also good but not wildly amazing. Overall, I can't wait to go back, they have ample seating and the staff is excellent. Next time I will try a burger or the pizza. I haven't ever heard anything "bad" about the food here. read more

Not 'took it off for a second for a break' but not mask is present on their person. Went on a sat afternoon around 330. The place was rather quiet so when we walked in, everybody noticed and looked at us. It was a little awkward at first, the music they were playing made it worse. But the food was great! Got the wings. Fried. The second dry rub, don't remember what's called, with brown sugar was fantastic. Highly recommend. My friend got a falafel burger and he said it was incredible. Finished the whole thing. Get the chips with it, they chips were awesome. It's like the better version of bar food. Decently priced too. It was a perfect night to sit outside on the patio. The patio is a nice area, however the hostess wanted to seat us (two couples) at a picnic table with a gas table top firepit right down the middle, that we would not have been able to have a conversation across :( We asked for a different table , and she obliged. Our server was very friendly and attentive, checked with us throughout our visit. Drinks came out promptly, the guys said that their beers were cold and fresh. The ladies cocktails were a bit weak. The Gouda Mac n Cheese bite appetizers, were ok. The pizza and burgers were meh. This was our first visit there and we're really looking forward to a good burger. For being on the pricier side for a burger, we were expecting much better! And the seasoned chips that came with them....they tasted like they had been sitting around for awhile, not warm, not fresh, not crisp. We ate just one or two , very disappointed. I am a regular here. But I just had one of the worst restaurant experiences on Friday night. Food was sloppy and soggy. The same food we just ordered Wednesday night. It was nothing like we had on Wednesday. Then apparently someone who worked there was pissed that a Madonna song came on and it shut off right in the middle of the song and they changed it to some miserably horrible metal rock song and blasted the volume up. We were disappointed to find the service declining over time and questioned whether we wanted to continue to eat here. We went there for dinner tonight. The service was fantastic, which was a nice and unexpected change. (Great job, Olivia.) However, they keep bumping up prices to the point where we just can't justify this place anymore. Including tip, our dinner tonight came to just under $70. That was for a burger, a sandwich, a side salad, fries, and one drink each. While they were out of pesto sauce for the pizza we subbed garlic oil and it was adequate. The focaccia chicken sandwich was just average as the flavor was lacking a bit and the focaccia was a little too much and overpowered the sandwich. I wish that I could give this place more stars!! I had a groupon for this place and chose it for my birthday. Best decision of the day! I had the 1788 burger and my husband had their Cali dry rub wings and we got the Gouda Mac and cheese bites to share! I wasn't going to get a drink but I decided since it was my birthday, I would. As soon as I told our waiter (Christopher) it was my birthday, he stopped me and said "let me make you something! It's on me!" It was the best mixed drink I've ever had! Our server had too many tables to serve and there were significant errors - the worst was that one of our party did not get his dinner until long after everyone else was finished. A very good gastropub serving some delicious classic pub fare with a touch of sophistication. In town for a visit with my daughter and it was a last minute pick. It's a small restaurant when the weather doesn't allow for the large patio to be used, so it was quite a wait for a table. Glad we waited because the food looked great. There was a party downstairs and well as you quickly discover it's home for Patriots fans who get there early and pretty much stay there all night, so few tables are turned over. I don't like the Patriots but you have to respect greatness. It does however seem turn off quite a few guests. We got the dry rub barbecue and Mexicali wings to start. These were some great wings with some unique spices in their dry rub. I would have been fine with just ordering a bunch of their wings and enjoying the great selection of canned craft beers. They do have bottles and more than a few craft beers on tap. The selection of wines and cocktails are typical. The pizza's and burgers are very good. The burgers were well seasoned and cooked perfectly and the pizza's crust was stellar. It doesn't get a 5 star because the staff while reasonably friendly performed their service in a perfunctory manner. There seemed to be more than enough staff to handle the guests given the restaurant is quite small, but service was slow and other than the initial service of drinks they didn't come back for refills. Gotta drop them a star after getting overcharged. My bill should have been $16.50, but arrived at $19.50. Yeah it was only $3, but that's an 18% increase. Got charged double for Ranch I didn't want and didn't order. Also charged $2 instead of $1(as menu said) for Onion Ring upgrade. I know this place is new, and it could be growing pains, but you have to sync your menu and your ordering system, unless it was intentional, and then you have bigger problems. I'm not writing them off, but I'm less enthusiastic than I was. And it's across the street from a brewery. read more
