He is so reliable, so fast, and comes wirh his team and fixes every home task I have had: moving furniture between first and second story, assembling a large heavy bed, moving stuff to my storage, you name it , he can do it! With all these 5-star reviews, I was completely disappointed. Just finished my moving trips with this company. Jorge/George is unfriendly & grouchy. He is mean & condescending to his employees (which were teenage boys) and doesn't listen to directions. I was telling him the best way to put MY THINGS into MY storage unit and he walks away saying "yeah, yeah, yeah. " At the end of the service, after he's paid, he attempts to give some half-baked apology saying "if 'they' were grumpy it's because 'they're' exhausted..." there was more but I walked away because his excuses were just BS. (Especially since the company is open 24/7)Jorge/George was stubborn & unfriendly to me as well as to the staff @ my moving storage space. Everyone else was nice and respectful and told me congratulations on my new place. The team came unprepared to lift a washing machine although they were told ahead of time. He kept complaining about how heavy the washing machine was which that frustration was taken out on my couch, trying to fit it into the storage unit. Also yelling at the boys but not communicating to them what it was that he wanted. He also showed up to move my apartment with improper footwear (CROCS). Just all around bad vibes. I've only given this company two stars because they were available last minute and gave us a flat rate of $700 including two stops. But I don't recommend them. read more

Wow! I never leave reviews, but had to with this company because of their top notch service. Jorge was so helpful from beginning to end, extremely nice and a genuine guy. Very professional. I called VERY last minute and we spent some time going back and forth on when he could fit me in, every other company I reached out to before just basically said- too short of notice and hung up on me, not Jorge, he was like, "Okay, don't worry- let's tackle a time that can get you moved." Showed up on time, went above and beyond in every aspect. He had help from Stuart and Jose- but really were on top of their game. I can't recommend these guys enough. I would recommend Local Man With A Van to anyone who needed to move in Brooklyn. Jorge was very easy to contact, extremely helpful, and had an organized team. They were all very kind, and did not cause any damage to any of my things, even if I managed to poorly pack some items. I was under the impression that it would take two trips to complete my move, but Jorge was determined, and found a way to safely fit everything in one. Later that night, I realized that I had left two items in the back of their truck. I reached out to Jorge, and he actually came back by midnight, in his personal car, and returned my items to me. I will definitely be reaching out to him again whenever I need help moving. The owner meant well but he arrived 1.5 hours late, he had to give way too much direction to his associates. He seemed to be doing all the work. The whole move took way too long. The items were going into a storage unit and by the time they were finished, the storage unit was an absolute mess. Nothing was organized and everything was just thrown on top of each other. Disassembled my big items packed/secured them from my third floor walk up, and then brought them to my new apartment and reassembled them for an unreal price! Nothing was damaged, he actually fixed my dresser and the back of my dresser that wasn't properly on! Jorge and his crew are, as most of the sane reviewers here note, incredibly efficient, reasonable, careful, and just generally great human beings--which makes moving anything easier. I had them move my beloved leather chair to my friend's apartment a mile away and when we were pulling up into a PRIME parking spot in front of her building, I said, "oh sh*t, I forgot the bag of cushions! Argh." They said no problem and despite my protests insisted on driving all the way back to my building to get the bag and then return with it in tow. They were great about measuring the staircase and wrapping the chair, carefully maneuvering it upstairs without banging anything. It was completely painless. Prior to the move itself Jorge was great at texting me quotes and timeframes, something that allowed both my friend and I to prepare for the delivery/move. Will definitely use this team again and highly recommend them vs. renting a van of your own and trying to move big pieces while subjecting your un-move-ready back to torture. read more

Moving is about as stressful a life event as you can have, and George and Niall made it so much easier for me. Despite being stuck in traffic on the BQE (he even sent me pictures to show the standstill!) and being late, they made up for it in "can do" attitude and fast, efficient work ethic (also thanks to my excellent, secure packing! haha).
