I sent him a message late at night through Yelp and after few minutes I received a reply telling me the quote of 300-350 dollars and giving me his phone number to further discussions. I phoned him and introduced myself the following day but he seems like he is not interested on the call because his tone became different and giving me lots of reasons - that he is so busy that moment, that there was a problem on the Yelp messaging and he never received any messages from me, that he will call me back (which he didnt), that ill send him the info thru text message (which I did but still no response from him up to this very moment). 3.5 years later, another move and another outstanding job from Andriy and his men. Andriy quoted us $100/hr from start to finish (3 men), plus 1hr of commute time. $100 insurance fee is optional, and it was requested by our new building management company (FML...). Moving from our 2br on a 3rd floor walk-up to a 5th floor elevator took 3.5 hours. Andriy arrived exactly at 10am, and we were done by 1:30pm. Andriy and 2 other men worked at a very fast pace. Moreover, they came equipped with a lot of blankets and cardboard pieces; they even re-wrapped some fragile items for us. Everything was moved swiftly and carefully; we didn't experience any damage during the move. Finally, Andriy is always prompt in answering emails, usually getting back within hours, if not minutes. Andriy's team was so great! They came right at noon (during this pandemic crisis, nonetheless) and moved my bedroom/living room from a fourth walkup downtown to a third floor walkup in Astoria. They were really efficient, even though I had a ton of stuff that they had to carry downstairs. They took special care to break down my bed, as well as wrapping my mattress and TV and mirrors, and put everything back together just perfectly in my new space. They were really considerate and asked where all furniture, etc should go in the new place before placing it down. Really helped me a lot not to have re-move heavy things! They also took the initiative to fix my broken dresser drawer that had been slanted/crooked for years now! It was really thoughtful and above and beyond. Their rate was one of the best I've found- $80 an hour for two men and a truck. My entire job took about six hours, but that's mostly because I had SO much stuff. We had used Andriy and his crew for a local move within Brooklyn a year and a half ago, and they had done an awesome job. So when it came time for us to move to Washington DC, we called Andriy first to see if he could do it. He does take long distance moves, and did so very professionally and efficiently. He even helped us out by scheduling a last minute extra move during the week before our weekend move to get some of our old furniture to my brother's new apartment in Sunnyside! I was hesitant to pick movers from the typical stories you hear. Andriy however was quite professional and calm. Arrived at my house to give me an estimate based on my furniture and box count. On the day off the move, he arrived and I had extra boxes that I planned to move myself...he insisted that he load those up as well which I felt was a very nice gesture.
