Okay, well I am writing this review while heated. Placed an order today for pi day, which was BOGO on square pie guys. I placed an order at 4:45pm with a 5:15pm pick up time. I come in at 5:35pm and it's still not ready. No biggie, there's a ton of people so I get it. 10min pass and I don't get any updates on my order. One of the workers realizes how backed up they are and proceeds to take all the names down of everyone inside to prioritize the pizza orders of those patiently waiting. Finally at 6pm I ask the status of my order. The worker couldn't find my ticket, she asked what my order was and I tell her. I assume she's expediting my order considering they're 45min past their confirmed pick up time. I hear her ask the cooks for a mushroom pizza, I assume it's to fulfill my order. Finally the mushroom pizza is done and nope, not my order. She proceeds to hand the pizza over to the guy next me (who literally walked in 10 min prior to reviewing his order.) She, of course, sees the look on my face and says "last time I checked your order is still being worked on." Which I find hard to believe considering you could t find my ticket, proceeded to ask what I ordered and notonce did I see you relay this to the kitchen to work on my "lost" order. I walked out. This is ridiculous. And as I write this review I finally get a text at 6:35pm that says my order is ready. ALMOST AN HOUR AND A HALF past the pickup time. It's not the fact that it took this long, it's the lack of communication. It's the frustration of seeing the workers pack up other pizzas and orders for other who aren't even in the lobby patiently waiting. What was the point of taking the names down in the lobby?! You have bags of orders ready sitting on your shelf For people who clearly aren't physically inside waiting. It's the frustration of seeing pizzas piled up in the back, clearly being held hostage for other orders instead of allocating the orders for the patrons waiting over an hour inside the establishment. It's common sense to be like "oh your pick up is at 5:15? It's 6pm now let me expedite it" Take the pizzas off the table that are just sitting there and pack my order up. You only serve like 5 different kinds of pizzas, I'm sure you can find a couple Of pizzas to fulfill my order. It's seriously just sitting in black tubs in the back while 20 people wait in the lobby. Then you can work on the orders of those who aren't even here yet! Like C'monnnn or staff your place appropriately when there's a BOGO deal. The takeaway is: DO NOT ORDER FROM LOCAL KITCHENS WHEN THERE IS A BOGO DEAL UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR. read more

Don't waste your $, rude service for a sub par food. Mainly lack of flavor. If you want authentic food try somewhere else.

We normally drive out to their brick & motor or food truck locations to get our Senor Sisig fix but decided to give this place a try. We got our usual the pork sisig nachos and pork senor burrito. The nachos were amazing and tasted exactly the same. The burrito however was sadly lacking both in portion size and pork filling. I had to take some pork from our nacho and stuff it in the burrito! There was just too much rice and cilantro sauce but overall the flavor was there... We like the concept that this is a one stop shop where you can order multiple things from different restaurants in case nobody wants the same thing so we will give it another try and see how it goes but will definitely be back for more nachos ;) read more

A great concept, everything ordered online. I was so pleased they opened in Lafayette location. I drove one or two times weekly from Danville. I loved them so much I recommended to my family in Roseville and ordered GrubHub for home delivery for them several times. Why did you stop offering Senior Sisig? The best burritos ever!! In my opinion , you can get less expensive chicken sandwich options elsewhere. Unsure of freshness or handling of fish in a "fast food" establishment. I ( and other colleagues) have not returned since they discontinued the burritos, mainly because of overall COST. Other food options With drink (even water), lunch daily is over $20. They are very effective at asking for a TIP. You get the food you ordered on your own phone. The meal is presented to you in a paper bag. The food is on the pricier side of average, but the quality is pretty good. Service is quick and responsive, and I appreciate how seriously they took me when I had a concern after eating there. We have had the fried chicken, sweet potato fries, curry, hanger steak, teriyaki salmon, Reuben sandwich, and Humphry Slocombe ice cream. Mr. Jenbert loves the Reubens and I'm a big fan of the fried chicken which tastes freshly made and stays crisp even the next day. I will admit, I'm not very fond of this whole online only system that seems to shun people who lean Amish like me and Mr. Jenbert and a few other demographics, but I will admit that I also need to join the 21st century. I also like that it's open late in Lamorinda, as the only other late night option in the area seems to be Nation's or Taco Bell. read more

Imagine getting all your favorite food trucks in one kitchen. That is exactly what Local Kitchens is. The Lafayette location consists of Proposition Chicken, Senor Sisig, Curry Up Now, Glaze Teriyaki and Humphry Slocombe. I no longer need to follow the food trucks social media or get an email subscription to find out where I can get their food. The best thing is I can order ahead here and not have to wait in a long line at the taco truck. I ordered from their website last week and the process was seamless. Once you arrive at the kitchen, there's a monitor off to the side that lets you know if your order is ready for pickup or it'll show you the wait time. I ordered me some delicious Curry Up Now and my order was waiting in the food warmer when I arrived for pickup. The staff acknowledged me right away and quickly handed me my order. I was in and out in a minute or less. The food was fresh and hot. Most importantly everything was flavorful. I highly recommend the Fried Ravioli with the tikka masala dip if you never tried it before. Also the Tikka Masala burrito had some weight to it. Both are great to share with someone because they do not skimp on the portion. If you're a big fan of food trucks then I'm sure you'll like Local Kitchen's concept. It's like a takeout only restaurant with 4-5 different cuisines under one roof. You'll no longer have to choose one cuisine when you're picking up food for someone. Very excited to have a chance to have some senor sigsig and not have to drive an hour. And this spot has many other choices also. It is an easy place to find with plenty parking. I did some research before going on the separate websites to see what the food offerings were. The decision was on two tacos from senor sigsig, buffalo chicken wings from proposition chicken, and brussel sprouts. The only issue I had was the chicken wings were not really cooked well. They had delicous flavor and weren't raw, but did taste better after a 30-60 second trip in the microwave. The buffalo chicken had a good amount of heat also. The food was packaged really well and secure. It lasted a small amount of time in my car as we visited another brewery that day. I recommend ordering there at the location. What a great idea and i secretly wish it is in Walnut Creek! All you do is order in their online menu and you can choose from a variety of SF restaurants/eateries and pick up at the same spot! No need to park multiple times and waste a bunch of time and get everything at ONCE! I got my Wise son's bagel with smears and their Rueben sandwich. It is pretty good; it is not as good as some of the bagels i have had from Manhattan but good enough to satisfy my cravings. Hope they add more options from SF because it is a trek to hike to the city now! read more

I love places like this - multiple of my favorite restaurants all in one location. Before corona virus, I was working in SF and had easy access to some of my favorite places (Mixt, Proposition Chicken, Senior Sisig). Ever since I started working remotely, it's required so much more planning to grab food and find friends that are having the same cravings as me so this place changes everything! I got the fried chicken salad from Proposition Chicken and the Honey Graham ice cream from Humphry Slocombe. Both were super yummy! Ordering on the site was also seamless and super easy to understand, and I love that we were able to set a later pickup time. Only thing I wish is that there were more options from each of the places (I think maybe only the most popular items were on the menu), but it makes sense since there are so many restaurants operating under one kitchen. In one word: BLAND. I often driven past this restaurant and decided to order in when I found out they give $10 off to new customers. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, fries, and pot stickers and weirdly, they all tasted the same. Overly bland. You'll see the pictures everything looks really yummy. But its misleading the tastes are not there. I ordered for pickup in advance, when I got there no one welcomed me or asked me what my name was for the order. Luckily they have a tv that shows the orders and ready-ness. I ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes after my designated pick-up time for my food. I was just told 'sorry for the wait' and given the food. When other people came in they got greeted and checked up on but for some reason the employees felt like I didn't need any help or guidance. The chicken sandwich was not happening. The bread wasn't toasted so it absorbed grease and got soggy. The chicken crumbled in my hands. It came with chips which where the absolute worst part of the entire meal. The chips didn't taste like they had any seasoning whatsoever. They left your fingers and tongue coated in grease. I hate one half of the chicken sandwich and threw the rest away. I ordered a side of fries which came with two dipping sauces. They were edible but I ate about 1/3 before I threw them away. Again, very bland and soggy. I also got some pot stickers which were definitely cooked incorrectly because they were super chewy. I ordered the chicken option and it tasted like they were filled with unseasoned chicken only. The entire place was a huge disappointment. I have read tons of great reviews so I am not sure if I just came at a bad time or if they are really that horrendous. They might have ran out of salt, I am not sure. I wouldn't go back or advise anyone else to. You are better off at the fast food places across the street. On a better note the coca-cola I ordered was nice and cold and parking was easy. read more

The concept is intriguing; a well staffed kitchen In a converted fast food restaurant serving food from several popular restaurants. But as intriguing as that may be, they have to deliver on what counts, taste. They have achieved this most important goal! We had the Cowboy Salad from the Mixt menu and Fried Chicken entree from the Proposition Chicken menu. All of the salad ingredients were fresh and tasty. The blue cheese dressing and chipotle honey drizzle were very good and made for a special salad. The fried chicken was incredible. As good as any restaurant fried chicken I've had. The crunch was spot on and the meat was moist. The entree came with a tomato cucumber salad (tasty) and buttermilk biscuit (also tasty). Ordering was simple allowing us to choose multiple restaurants for our meal. I was greeted when I entered the restaurant, my name appeared on the order screen and my meal was complete (5 minutes earlier than promised). This is a great find. I look forward to going back for ice cream and hope they will expand the number of restaurants they represent. read more

Absolutely love the idea of "cloud kitchens" for those of us that miss our favorite spots in the city but are too lazy/busy to drive in . This particular location has some great options - my favorite being Humphrey Slocombe ice cream of course - and so I was super excited to check it out! The online ordering process is super easy - has all the menus/fan favorites - and the actual food pick up probably took about thirty seconds. Everyone was very friendly, and the gentleman who grabbed my order for me was also kind enough to pack my ice cream in a freezer bag so that it wouldn't melt on the way home!! Absolutely love this concept and I really hope they expand out to other awesome places in SF and make them more accessible to us suburb-dwellers, all the while helping these businesses stay afloat amidst the pandemic. read more

Came back again to try more food, though my friend stuck with Curry Up Now because she's obsessed and had been craving it. I tried Senor Sisig for the first time, I got the Sisig burrito with tofu and it was so flavorful (you do have to pay extra for meat). Also got Glaze to eat for lunch the next day. Not my all time favorite teriyaki sauce, but I loved the carrot ginger salad dressing and everything was cooked well. There are ordering tablets inside or you can always order online through their site or other food app sites. I actually prefer their ordering site because it's super easy to navigate and order multiple things from the different restaurants in there. The food was ready on time and the staff is friendly. Just a reminder no seating inside, this is a bunch of restaurants sharing one spot. This place is ideal for a group of ppl who want to eat different things, but not have to do multiple online orders or drop by multiple places to pick up. Great place with tons of food options for take out! We tried the Senor Sisig burrito with chicken. It had wonderful flavor and texture! We love Indian food so we also got the Tikka Masala bowl which was amazing! Finally we finished with the Zesty bowl which also did not disappoint. The chicken strips are fish-battered, and while they arrived hot, they were literally flavorless. Dipping sauce required. The sage fries were also flavorless, not even salt on them. The veggies sticks were literally withered & brown on both ends! This kitchen does not provide napkins or utensils unless you ask. Was thrilled when this opened and have spread the word to others. It's a game changer in Lafayette to have access to some nice, reasonably priced quick food options. We have ordered weekly since then, but unfortunately, as they have become busier, the quality control has deteriorated. Fries show up with a half inch of oil in the bottom of the container (gross), chewy meat and lots of mistakes (wrong meat option or missing ingredients or side sauces). Has happened at least 10 times in the last year, which is too much. If they can fix these issues it would be a 5 star review. Customer service is always courteous (on text), but they really need someone to focus on these issues. read more

I was craving comfort food and nothing says comfort food more than matzo ball soup. I knew Local served food from Wise Sons in SF and when I had it in their SF location I loved it. So I popped in and ordered it. I also wanted latkes but they didn't have them yet for the day. The key is checking the app. If the item shows up in the app then it's available. Anyway. The soup was delicious and exactly what I needed. I also got a side of coleslaw. And- I got to experience the entertaining customer service of Stach; who apparently is locally famous for his mad karaoke skills. While I waited I got to enjoy his friendly personality. Made 20 minutes just fly by. Keep in mind this place is pricey. But is it worth it? Absolutely! read more

UPDATE: Unfortunately I contracted salmonella poisoning from here. With the work of the county health department, it has been pinpointed. Had been eating here consistently and it was the last meals I had before becoming ill. There are a few restaurants there. The last one I chose was "Orens Hummus." It was a supposed to be cold salad that arrived warm. I take fault for even eating it. I was sick and showing symptoms within 24 hours and tested positive at the hospital and it was the last thing I ate before becoming ill. I'm not trying to ruin this place. I still think it's a neat idea, but after what I've gone through, I'm sorry but I must update my review. Unfortunately we will not be returning. I know it's been very hot and it could have been a one time thing, but I don't want anyone to go through what I did. Please make sure your employees are following proper hand hygiene and temperature checks. I'm willing to speak with the owner to provide the information from the county, including my order history. read more

I am obsessed with Local Kitchens and I love the whole concept of it. It's amazing because you just stop at one place and have the option to order different meals and cuisines from multiple amazing restaurants. All of the restaurants are so good and popular throughout the Bay. They said they're going to try and add more restaurants as time goes on (which is so awesome!) Senor Sisig is the main reason why I go here. I used to live in Oakland and always went to their food truck. I've missed it so much since moving out here. I'm SO happy Senor Sisig is here. I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the restaurants though. They're all so popular and so delicious. It's one location - one kitchen with various restaurants. The chefs get trained at the actual restaurants so all the food tastes exactly like the original locations. The staff are all very friendly and provide excellent service! They greet you right away and are really nice. They've always been super helpful too. I've always had an amazing experience with the staff. Ordering is very easy. You can order online on their website and it's really nice seeing all the options in one area. The website is very easy to navigate and makes it very efficient. It's great because you can order from all the restaurants under one order. You can also select a time slot you want to pick up your food which is awesome. When you get there, you can see your name on the screen and if your order is ready. You can also order inside at the kiosk which is also very easy. The parking is a small parking lot. Every time I go there, there's been parking available. There's a few tables and benches outside that people can sit at or eat at which is really nice. There's also a bench inside if you need to wait indoors. There's a bathroom inside as well. The food- Senor Sisig: ALWAYS my favorite and the reason why I go here. I love their tofu California burritos. It's so delicious and tastes exactly like the truck (maybe even better - yes, I said it!) There was one time they ran out of tofu and I still got the California burrito (they just added more of the other ingredients) which I thought was nice... but it didn't taste as good. If they're out of meat/protein, I recommend skipping it. It just doesn't taste the same. I tried the tofu sisig fries... that was also really delicious. I've also had the tofu senor burrito and it's delicious as well. Oren's Hummus: we got the hummus eggplant and it was really good. It's a meal in itself. It's pretty big. The hummus was so good and so tasty. It was so smooth and creamy. I thought it was a great flavor and texture. The pita bread was very soft and tasty. We also got the pita beef kebab and really liked it. She said the pita was so fresh and so good. The pita was filled with flavors. She really liked the pita beef kebab. The falafel pita was just okay. But we had it pretty cold so the falafel balls were not crispy anymore. Glaze Terriyaki: we've tried the hanger steak teriyaki and didn't like it. She was not impressed with it. Maybe it lacked flavor? We also tried the cold soba noodle salad and it was tasty! It's a pretty big size for only $4. I recommend mixing it before eating as the flavors were a little spread out so mixing it helped make it more flavorful. It was good! Humphry Slocombe: very expensive ice cream, but also really delicious. I LOVE the matchadoodle ice cream. It's soooo good. I love green tea ice cream and I love the pieces of snickerdoodle in it. I definitely recommend it. We also tried the secret breakfast ice cream and it was alright. It was too sweet for us and I just wasn't a fan of it? I've also tried the blue bottle Vietnamese coffee ice cream at the Oakland location and it's really good. All the flavors are really good... expensive... but good. I can't resist them lol Proposition Chicken: I haven't tried the actual meals here, but I got the housemade magic bar and it was really good. It's a decent size and very flavorful. It's yummy! I probably wouldn't get it again though. Mixt: I love Mixt's salads. I know it'd be hard to do "build your own salad" here, but I wish they had some sort of option like this. I love Mixt's salads but I'm not a fan of the salad choices they have. I want to try other restaurants and other meals, but I'm just always hooked on Senor Sisig. I will try the other ones eventually! Clearly, I love Local Kitchen. I highly recommend going here. It's such an awesome concept & the food is so delicious. I recommend coming here multiple times and trying out all the restaurants. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. I've also had the curry up now ravioli here and, while its best eaten right after they give it to you, it's still really good when you get home.
