Blueberry lemon drop martini

All of their food were delicious, but if you're looking for more, I highly recommend the spicy little neck clams. The sauce was amazing! Service was also good, but I wish the wait time for the food did not take over 30 min.

Always so much better than the name would suggest. Don't know why we don't go here more often. Outdoor patio is awesome and food is top notch. Had ahi tuna special, wife had swordfish. Both were spectacular. Drinks and service great too.

Outside downtown Gloucester is a spot called Lobsta Land, a restaurant I finally visited after passing by it many times on my visits to the town. It's a nice and lively place with a beautiful marsh view at the deck area, a very pleasant area to sit in during summer. They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait for a bit if you want a table. The service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. I got a bountiful fish n' chips, enough for two people to split which was a nice surprise. The clam chowder and calamari were top notch as well, and everything tasted very fresh which isn't a surprise given the location. Nice big chunks of clams in there which I appreciate. The portions overall were great. I caught a glimpse of other dishes and they looked quite elaborate! If you're into tuna, there's a layered tuna lasagna looking thing that a lot of people seemed to get. The seared salmon also seemed great. Next time I might try lobster!

Absolutely delicious! I had the lobster mixed with other seafood very fresh and amazing. I sat at the bar. The customer service was great, super friendly. The only thing that was a little hard was the parking lot because there was so many people in there on a weekday.

Paella

Great tap at the outside patio bar, friendly service and very good food. The paella was outstanding with a spicy saffron rissotto holding it down for shrimp, lobster, mussels, scallops, clams, chorizo in a tomato base. Smoky, briny, spicy, taste of the ocean throughout. A crispy Sonoma chardonnay on this perfect summer day helped it along. Service was perfectly snarky and loveable barback attentiveness, smiles and good Gloucester vibes all around. Live acoustic tunes done adequately enough added some chill.

Visiting town and locals recommended this spot. It was super busy at dinner time, so we knew it must be good. Didn't like that a lot of dishes were fried, but the food was good, drinks were good and the service was great! The French onion crock was good. However the Tuna Tower was amazing! I'd order that again in a heartbeat. Lazyman's lobsta was awesome. This is a great little sports bar restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Causal atmosphere and lively!

Wow! Such a great place and right off the highway. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is fairly big with lots of seating. We were at a table with a view and loved it. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We ordered fish and chips and a lobster roll. Everything was perfect. The fish and chips portion was huge so obviously took a to-go box. The bartender went above and beyond to bring over the NA beer options and a chilled glass...plus he gave his feedback on them. It was excellent service and very unexpected. Our server did a fantastic job checking in on us and making sure we were all set. I recommend checking it out because it's worth it.

Everything about this place is great! The staff is welcoming and super efficient, food is fresh off the boat, atmosphere is fun and has great views. The haddock chowder is too good!

Ask the Community - Lobsta Land

For group, someone is vegetarian. Any good choice for him?

There are salads and maybe a pasta dish, but it is mostly seafood and meat.

When does lobsta land close for the season?

2 Sunday of December ! ☺️

Do they need reservations?

LobstaLand does take reservations though I think they might stop if they get to many. When we went, they had just stopped on reservations for the night but we were able to get in imediately anyway.

Are they wheel chair accessible?

It would appear so but would call the restaurant to make sure!!

Not even fifteen minutes later, the space filled up with people asking for window tables. Street parking right outside was easy since it was a weekday pre-lunch rush, but I wouldn't bet on it during busier times. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder to share, the fried haddock basket with a side of slaw, and the fish tacos with a side of fries. The one unfortunate thing was that our fries had a strand of hair embedded inside, but they were able to replace it for us. Otherwise a pretty decent meal to start off our day strolling around the neighborhood.

Great spicy remoulade on it and the fish was crispy and fresh. We also ordered the classic lil chippy and i really thought this was a great price for the quality you get. There are no trendy menus, no upscale atmosphere, and no attempts to reinvent fish and chips. Honestly, that's part of its charm. I've been coming here for years, and I have to admit that I am probably the least adventurous customer they have. Every time I visit, I order the same thing: fish and chips and a cup of white clam chowder. When something works, why mess with it? The fish is always crispy without being overly greasy, despite what some reviews might lead you to believe. The portions are generous, and the fries have always reminded me a little of the fries served at Wright's Farm. I'm not sure exactly why, but every time I eat them, that's the comparison that comes to mind. The clam chowder is also very good. As a lifelong Rhode Islander, I'm firmly in the white chowder camp, and theirs is done right. It's flavorful, satisfying, and pairs perfectly with the fish and chips. The setup is simple. You order at the counter when you walk in, they give you your number, and you grab a seat in the dining room while you wait for your food. It's efficient, straightforward, and keeps things moving. The staff has always been friendly, and I've never had an issue with service. Another plus is the value. The prices are very reasonable, especially these days when it feels like every restaurant meal costs twice what it did a few years ago. You get plenty of food for your money, and I've never walked away feeling disappointed. Parking is easy thanks to the large lot, which is a small thing that becomes a big thing when you're hungry and just want to get inside without circling the block looking for a spot. We usually stop in every few weeks, and that's probably the best endorsement I can give. If a restaurant keeps earning repeat visits year after year, they're doing something right. This isn't a destination for fine dining, and it isn't trying to be. It's a comfortable, reliable spot serving good fish and chips at fair prices with friendly people behind the counter. Sometimes that's exactly what you're looking for. Four stars.

I'd been coming here for at least 20 years, and in recent years it had been a favorite spot to eat outside when traveling with my dog. But now, we are not allowed to eat outside with a dog. Instead we had to order to-go and then walk down back to a 'dog area' which is a spot to the left of the building, below the parking area with one picnic table and some chairs in the woods. It was a beautiful sunny day, but we were getting eaten alive by no-seeums, which is not a nice experience when paying $100 for 1 meal with 6 scallops, 4 small pieces of fried fish, fries and slaw, an order of onion rings, a small clam chowder, and 2 beers. And $50 for a small lobster, an ear of corn, and an iced tea. I get that this is a tourist area, but $12 for a beer in a plastic cup and a $7.50 up charge for 6 scallops while being banished to a buggy spot that made eating very uncomfortable is a big no thank you for me. Crossing this place off my list, sadly. The upgrades and changes to this place are not a bonus at all. I'm sad that a place I always felt was friendly and welcoming is now overpriced and we all felt like we were being treated as second class citizens.

But it's been a while since I've been this disappointed in a restaurant. I'm not talking about the parking (it's small) or the decor of the place or even the service. I'm strictly talking about the food. The good thing about the food was that it was hot, and I mean so hot that I was afraid it was going to melt the take-out containers they packed it in. Also, the serving sizes are large, and in the case of the Seafood Marinara pasta dish, they give you two full large plastic containers for a single order. The fish chowder and clam chowder were definitely full of seafood, but they were underseasoned. I guess if you were to eat them concurrently with really salty food, then they'd be perfect. But I ate them before the rest of the meal, and by themselves, the chowders' taste is a bit lacking. But the real shock was the pasta. I ordered the two most expensive pasta dishes on the menu: Seafood Marinara and Shrimp Scampi. The amount of seafood on the plates was admirable, but a lot of it tasted generic. And the pasta definitely tasted like it was pre-made. The killer was the lack of seasoning in both dishes. I can understand if one of the dishes was underseasoned because mistakes happen. But when both pasta dishes were as bland as these two dishes were, well, you have to worry about the standards. Just to be sure, I waited a few hours until the dishes had cooled down, and I tried them again. It's easier for me to taste the seasoning when the food temp is lower at around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Both pasta dishes were pretty much tasteless. I even had a friend of mine who has an excellent palate try everything, and she literally asked me if I specifically ordered the food to be cooked without seasoning. I wouldn't have been so surprised if I had gone into a place that had average reviews, but The Causeway has a great reputation. I guess if I go back, I'll have to try their fried seafood (e.g. the Peters Platter). But the problem is do I really want to go in there and spend about $30 per dish after my experience with their pasta dishes? I hate writing a negative review about a family restaurant, but inflation being what it is, people are going to be choosier about where to spend their money, and restaurants have to make sure that their food is on point to justify the high prices.
