An absolute classic that has been reborn and we love it. The cocktails are among the best in the city. The service is great too. Dylan Thomas and Bob Dylan -- the two Dylans -- would be duly impressed.

I stopped in at 8:30PM on a Thursday evening. I've been meaning to come here for quite some time. The lobby bar (and really the entire hotel) was bustling. When I walked in, I approached the host stand. A very kind gentleman told me I could look for a bar seat and if I couldn't find one, he would assist me with getting a table. All of the bar seats were taken so I took him up on his offer of a table. Having just been rudely denied a table for 1 by the staff at The Ivory Peacock, I fully expected to not get a table at the Chelsea. Especially since this is a much more upscale and historical venue. However, there was no issue. The gentleman showed me to my table in the back room of the bar, which was beautifully decorated. The staff had no trouble seating a party of 1 and did not make me feel like gutter trash like the Ivory Peacock did. The drink menu is interesting and extensive. I ordered the Viva Superstar. The drink is pricey at $32, but it's really two drinks in one. You are served the cocktail but they also provide you a sidecar of white wine that fills the entire glass as well. I loved this cocktail! I like that they had good vegetarian options and I ordered the vegetable sandwich. It's so good! The bread was perfectly crisp and I love the dill cream cheese. There's also a cheese board I have my eye on for next time. The ambiance of the bar was low lights, and average noise. There's multiple rooms and the bar is pretty big. Wait service could have been a bit more attentive, but I think my server was working multiple rooms so at times he was not around for a while. The busboys walk around frequently filling up water and removing dirty plates however. The drinks and food prices are higher than average here but given the context of this venue, it's expected. Overall, I really loved this bar and the experience of the gracious staff. Will definitely be back.

We had an Amazing time with friends from Brazil here. We had the famous 1800 martini.

Stopped in for a quick drink with friends. The martinis were all delicious - my favorite was actually the 1884 martini. The dukes martini comes with tableside service and a vermouth sidecar with olives but it was a bit strong (why they limit guests to 2 of them). The 1884 I felt was more balanced and classic. The dirty martini was also very good but much like most martinis elsewhere. The cheese board was also very good. Friendly staff. Fun experience, especially walking though the holiday decorations in the lobby.

I love it here. The fries are yummy (the only food we have ever had here). The cocktails are always executed perfectly. They are fancy, craft cocktails, so yes they are expensive--but they match other NYC cocktail prices. The ambiance and aesthetics are supreme. Vintage couches/chairs, some comfier than others. Beautiful decor, artwork from people who had lived here. Pro tip: you can take your cocktails to the roof (11th floor) and bask in the elevated, breezy skyline of NY (you need a key after 7 pm I believe.) I always stayed at the Chelsea when i stay in NYC and I love sitting at the lobby bar for a drink (or two or three).

when i went it was quite busy but so beautiful and i had a very nice time the drinks weren't cheap but they were really tasty i got the espresso martini which wasn't on the menu but it was still so good they also have lite bites bar seating is iffy and the staff doesn't really clear the chairs so it gets a bit disorganized at times but there is a lounge type setting as well they just don't take reservations unless ur a hotel guest

Ambiance 100% and I recommend anyone who loves historic buildings or rock music. Come to the hotel Chelsea. If these walls could talk! We had a drink we were seated in the back and the bar is quite large very pretty. You should probably have a reservation. It's very difficult to get in the service isn't that great but the vibe is just amazing.

Great service and superb cocktails. With inflation and I guess just "the times" $25 cocktails are the norm in NYC ... some might've shocked other even appalled but I have to say THIS cocktail (the Oaxaca old fashioned) was worth every penny. The bartenders are friendly and skilled, so welcoming and not an ounce of pretentiousness in the air.

Omg feel like I I entered into the great gastby. The bartender or was it the server? Dresses w white suits. The bartender was pretentious. I ordered the famous Dukes Martini w gin served table side. A bit salty bc it has olives. But it's good. The cheese platter was good. So much history in this place. Located inside the Chelsea hotel where Andy Warhol used to frequent. Come try the martini.

Lobby Bar, located in the Chelsea Hotel, is a great quiet spot. The cocktails are amazing and highly recommended.

I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
