Good lumber to the land-fill? I ordered about $4,000 worth of flooring. It came in about 3 weeks. After it arrived, I got three phone calls asking me to pick it up. I explained that the installers could not get to it for a few weeks. Nonetheless, the staff at the store insisted that I pick it up before the end of the month which was about 10 days away. They said that they did not have room to store it in their small warehouse. I reluctantly picked up the flooring and paid the balance due. The boxes of flooring was stacked in my living room, bedroom, and dining room for a couple weeks. After the installation, when I wanted to return 4 boxes, they noted (as per their company policy) that they don't take returns after 30 days. I believe that they should not pressure customers to take delivery. This strategy allows the "clock to run out" so that they do not have to take returns. This local store might, indeed, have a small warehouse for the volume of business they do, but in that case the company should enlarge the facility. Unfortunately, this extra flooring is now headed for the land-fill unless I find somebody who needs it. read more

Avoid avoid avoid. Still waiting on wood ordered over 2 months ago. First it was a 2 week wait, then sorry, it'll take a month. Now it's being shipped up from South America. Maybe someday my floor will be finished. read more

Excellent experience with the staff at Albany location. Shawn was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely come back again for more flooring projects. I did about 900 sf of oak and 400 sf of bamboo. I installed myself, first timer, floors turned out great and I saved a ton of money. read more

Purchased a new home that is entire carpet. Hate carpet. Asked Lumber Liquidators for an estimate on hardwood floors for about 1100 sq ft of our home. A nice girl called and said they would sent out a contractor. Enter SW Contractor via Lumber Liquidators. Chris the contractor from SW Contractor called me and we set an appoint for Thurs 12-1pm verbally. Apparently he officially sets it for Fri 12-1pm. I wait on thurs, no contractor. Call them and find out the appt is Fri 12-1pm. On Friday, he shows up at 1:20 after I called him at 12:45 to ask if he was coming. Behavior during consultation was fine, but he was a little condescending. Sure, I look like I'm 21, but his attitude is a little bit irritating. Then he sends me an email with the incorrect sq ftage (2 days later). I ask him to correct and he sends me the correct sq ft on the following day. During this time, I've shopped around and found another contractor who was 1. on time, 2, courteous/kind, 3. correct with his estimates first time around. Chris calls me on Saturday, Feb 23 to ask if I wanted to install and I told him I hired someone else. Immediately, he becomes belligerent and asks why I didn't consult with him first, declares that I had wasted his precious time by having him come out. I told the other contractor is more cost friendly, to which he responded that he could have given me a discount. Srsly? Why wasn't the discount already included in the estimate? Finally, I told him his attitude was not appreciated and he hung up on me. It is highly likely that I would have gone with Lumber Liquidators if I had been sent a more professional contractor. read more

Shawn is the go to guy for getting things done. We had placed an order at the store in San Francisco, only to be told (after the fact) the floors we wanted weren't in stock, and we'd have to wait 4 weeks. Shawn did some research to find the wood we wanted, arranged a delivery, and then followed up to make sure everything was on track. He was professional, helpful, and easy to work with. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat! read more

Horrible experience a few years ago. The clerk sent me out to the dock to wait for our flooring but the stock never showed. I went back inside to ask about it and he yelled at me. I got a credit on the order and went somewhere else. I feared complaining about him because he might retaliate. The situation was that crazy. read more

I am compelled to write an interview after service from Landon Nelson Store manager at the lumber liquidators in Albany on east shore highway. He helped my husband and I picked out 750 ft.² of pewter maple engineered wood. Landon was extremely helpful knowledgeable kind and patient. There are other competitors in the neighborhood but we felt most comfortable with Landon. We will be back on our next job thank you Landon. read more

"Brazilian Teak- These guys will tell you all you need to know if you spend the time with them. I sent approx 4 hours at their store during three visits ( after I picked out the floor) just to make sure we did it right and would have no problems. I did this because of the mixed reviews I had read about them. Much to my disappointment even after doing everything they said, we still have flooring that is cracking ( no simple repair here) and after contacting them and sending some pictures ( that don't show much of anything " its tough in a picture") they did not even desire to come inspect. They simply send their standard computer generated letter stating " Once floor boards are inspected , approved by the end user and / or installer and installed, warranty coverage is no longer applicable because cracks and or splits may result from various external factors outside of the manufacturers control". I wonder how much product they would sell if this policy was printed in the store for the consumer to see? Essentially they desire to wash there hands of any and all claims stating that after install they are not responsible? what about the warranties they so proudly sell? Funny they also can state within there computer generated letter that there is a moisture problem ( even without coming out and looking or checking with a meter " now that's talent" ) we checked prior (with meter) and after and just yesterday and no moisture problems or issues and we did use MVP protection throughout as they recommended. In closing feel free to contact me at bsf4415@gmail.com for more information but I advise you to avoid dealing with them at all costs. I am not an Irate customer just a very upset off one and I will be spending considerable time letting those trusting buyers know there business practices." read more

I went to this Lumber Liquidators store after being disappointed with Home Depot's customer service and flooring selection. In less than 30 minutes I was out the door with 175 square feet of dark bamboo flooring, exactly what I had envisioned for a small sunroom in my bungalow home. I was very happy with the level of customer service, as I was promptly greeted by the store manager, invited to view various samples, and given options that fit my taste and budget. I will definitely purchase flooring from this company in the future: quality product, affordable pricing and good service! read more

Bought engineered flooring online and had it delivered to the Albany Ca. location specifically because of 3 different lumber liquidators i visited - this had staff that was the most helpful and friendly. The guy (and once a woman) answered my questions even if they seemed silly. Showed me different floor options etc. When I picked up the floor - they helped me load it into my truck and had all the supplies I needed to go with it. As a bonus both people that helped me had great sense of humors. I'd go the extra distance to this location over other ones. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! My Parent's had problem's within two weeks of the floor being put in. They spoke with the local store it has now gone to their HQ's and they claim it isn't a defect and they will not stand behind their product. My Parent's asked if it isn't a defect then what did they do to cause this problem? They would not give an answer. Then my Parents looked into contacting Bella Woods and they tell you to contact Lumber Liquidators. So $4500 worth of flooring looks like crap. What appears to be happening is that the finish is coming up. This is a Bella floor that should have a 100 year warranty, however it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Go with a local store pay the extra money it is worth it to get a company that will stand behind their product! read more

Stay clear of Lumber Liquidators. I had ordered flooring here a couple of years ago and was pleased. This time I ordered hardwood flooring and had to wait three weeks for it's arrival. While it was being installed by the contractor, it was discovered that the wood colors didn't even come close to matching and most of the boxes contained short (no longer than 18" ) pieces. This was discovered about half way through the job. I phoned LL's customer service. What a joke. The lady said, "have the installer pull out the floor and return it to the store". When I asked who would pay for this, she replied "how should I know". Wow. Long story short, I took a bunch of the small pieces back to the store. The manager of the Santa Rosa store was shocked. He totally agreed with me that the material was shabby and he didn't think the wood was actually oak, which I had ordered. I filled out a claim and was absolutely dragged through broken glass to get any help. After about a month of frustration, tons of photos and statements, they agreed to refund me $300 just to make me go away. This company is a total disaster. Remember: you get what you pay for.
