The best customer service you can ask for. We purchased flooring well over 6 years ago. Unfortunately we had water damage and had to replace flooring. I called lumber liquidators and Shaun the store manager totally remembered me and the flooring that I needed, 6years later! He and his staff were very helpful getting the replacement that I needed and made it a pain free process. I would recommend this store to anyone, great product, and an even better experience. read more

So glad I came here. Great quality and reasonable prices. Katherine was terrific. Very knowledgeable, responsive to emails and phone calls, and patient with my order changes. She called around to multiple store locations to help me get my hardwood delivered as soon as possible. She also spent time talking with my own installer even after I had already paid for everything and didn't need to win my business anymore. Lumber Liquidators definitely made a loyal customer out of me! read more

The Floor Store was open today and they were very polite and helpful there. I called Lumber Liquidators earlier today and they were open so I stopped by at 1:40 on Wednesday and walked in open door labeled "entrance." The guy working there barked at me that they were closed and he can't have me in there. I was wearing a mask and I was social distancing. Please don't leave your entrance door wide open if you are closed (in the middle of the day on a week day). Thanks read more

Like many other reviews, I agree that Shawn is the man! Very responsive via email and phone. Shawn helped me put my flooring hold and locked in the sale price for me without me even asking him to. He also made sure all the product was in store when I came in to pick up. He even helped us pack our cars! I called him the day before (during Black Friday) after a price drop since I reserved the flooring and he was able to honor the price. Overall, such a great guy and a joy to work with him. Professional and courteous at all times! read more

I bought a bunch of laminate flooring from them this week. I tried to install the flooring only to find that the pieces were faulty and would not stay together. The tabs also broke off extremely easily. I looked online and found that the manufacturer "dream home" had a history of terrible products with a worthless warrantee. On Amazon, there were 75% one star reviews. I tried to return the flooring but they said they would not take back any opened boxes and there'd be a 20% restocking fee for the unopened boxes. Now I'm stuck with worthless unusable, defective flooring. Do yourself a favor and find a different company in the Bay that stands behind the products they sell. And always read reviews before purchasing a product! Also, check out all the filtered reviews for this store at the bottom of the yelp page. Mostly one star reviews. read more

My go-to for flooring--not that I go to flooring outlets very often, which is why I was so pleased when they cut me an unbeatable deal on some underlayment I needed to finish a project. They hadn't seen me in months, more likely years, so it's not like I was anyone special, but they treated me like family. read more

I ended up with a great floor at a great price - thanks! I have to say that Katherine Castillo-Batres, at the front desk, was particularly helpful. There are a lot of moving pieces in a flooring job, and she was great at keeping them working together. Thank you! read more

Buyer beware!!! You need to be a savvy flooring person in dealing with these people. I went into the Albany location to look at flooring at the end of June. I got their installers information and contacted him via email. I didn't hear anything back in a week, so I made the call. Boyn from European Flooring came out the following day and gave me a shopping list with 2 different estimates. One was to include stairs. He said he wouldn't be back in town until after the 4th of July holiday. After speaking with him, I went on line to order the flooring. After a week or more, I called to see if the flooring came in. They said we have nothing here for you, and Boyn never followed up. At this point, I'm pissed cause I dunno why my requests weren't going through. I'd spent a lot of time picking out the flooring, shopping for other items to install it with, input my payment all to tell me they didn't have anything. Mind you this is now the end of July. Upset and disappointed, I realize I'm going to have to do this on my own. After researching, I found out click product was going to be the ideal flooring to do, no glue or nail needed. I went in and asked Jorge to "hook me up with everything I need" to do the floor myself. I asked him to show me what they had in stock? He shows me some stuff that's been discontinued and tells me it's non-refundable. I didn't think much of it cause I was sure he was going to give me the amount I was going to need. I asked about the under layment and picked up an installer kit. NOT once did he say I needed a moisture barrier which I learned about while watching a utube video. So I go back to the stupid store to get the moisture barrier. Now I'm really pissed cause I have to go back There was more issues with the moisture barrier but I'll spare you the sorted details. After the job was done, I had a box and a half left of remaining flooring - more than enough. I read the contract in regards to returning product and it doesn't say anything about not being able to return discontinued product. When I got back to the store, I challenged Jorge and he says, "you didn't give me the installers shopping list" like as if he didn't have sense enough to tell me himself! And I told you discontinued products were non-refunded. I asked him if he had some of the discontinued item still in stock, he said, "yes". I said, "that's great, then you should make me a happy customer and take it back." Mind you I'm a upbeat person who rolls with the punches. I easily give a great Yelp review when warranted but this experience was one horrible experience after another. read more

This review is mainly for the SW Contractors who handles the installation for the store. First of all they (Lumber Liquidators) charges $29 or $39 dollars for a quote at your home for an install. I have a simple 1.5 story stairway and smaller landing. Removing carpet and adding hardwood. They sent out SW Contractors and some lady came out, measured my floor and said I would hear back in about 2 days. I never heard back. I called the store to ask why I never received a verbal or written quote. The person at the store said SW decided the job was too "complex". Huh? A friggin' stairway? read more

I had no problem getting flooring here. The manager was really nice, respected our budget, and was able to get us all the flooring we needed by using inventory from his store and the one in Concord. Driving to Concord and hauling over a ton, literally 1,200 pounds, of flooring is not exactly fun, but hey, I do what I gotta do to DIY it on a budget. We got floating floor with attached pad, about 8" wide planks, for $1.29 per square foot. It looks very nice with the beveled edge and all. The only thing I would suggest is they give you a little demo on how to install it, because I think my husband almost wanted to go to marriage counseling over this installation that was supposed to be really easy. He spent an hour or so banging the living daylights out of the planks and they kept joining badly with weird gaps, and he finally screamed at me "I wanted carpet! You never let me get what I want! If we got carpet, we never would have had to deal with this f-ing garbage! And it would be cheaper!" etc, etc. You get the point. I was very sorry he had such a hard time with it. He is also not very patient sometimes. So I got on my knees and tried to install it myself. There is a certain lift and lower movement that needs to be done correctly, while tapping at the appropriate time, before the planks magically join with no problem. I figured this out and showed him, "see honey? This seems to work" and he promptly told me that I could just do the whole floor myself then, while he watched! Luckily he cooled down the next day and didn't make me do the entire floor, just half of it. The instructions do not specify how to join the planks just right, they just sort of tell you to click them together. We didn't ever hear any clicking, just my angry husband beating the crap out of the floor with the mallet, and swearing. So please, please, if you do this on your own, practice first! It's not rocket science, but it's enough to make you reconsider the $2+ per square foot installation fee instead of making your spouse angry at you and hanging it over your head for who knows how long. read more

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews. We were there yesteday and had a very helpful salesperson, Lisa, walk us through the whole engineered/hardwood/blah blah choices. We ended up buying the flooring from them, and the price was pretty competitive, compared to the other places we went to - and at those places we couldn't even get a sales person to acknowledge us, let alone talk to us. We don't even need the flooring for 5-6 weeks, so any lead time is fine for us. read more

I bought my bamboo floors at this store. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I just happen to stop by this location after shopping in SF. I really have to give s shout out to Jose at Lumber Liquidators in Albany. I e been working on a remodel for months now. Nearly every retailer has been a poor experience from customer service, to products, to the staff's knowledge of the products. Jose was on point in every one of these areas. I really appreciate the personal attention he gave me, the patience he showed as I made my selections, he was extremely helpful through your the entire process. An excellent level of customer service rarely seen anymore. Thanks again!!! read more

Horrible service but LOVELY LOVELY wood! I got my house done using their products and it was about $4000 for 1000 Sq. Ft.

I had a great experience here with Landon the assistant manager. I bought a bunch of bamboo that was beautiful but later realized it was made with an adhesive I was not excited about having in my home. I was past the window for returns, but Landon worked with me to find a Brazilian koa that was even more stunning and completely free of toxins that I can't wait to see in my home. I'm super happy with the selection of products, the flexibility and especially the service. I highly recommend this location. read more

I would rate them as zero stars if I given the opportunity. Not only do they not honor their warranty, they won't even call me back! The hardwood I purchased was defective and the service I received from them was poor. They no longer exist in Berkeley, therefore I called multiple other stores. Avoid like the plague. I've made 3 fairly large purchases here. Never again. One decent during a weekend sale when it was ok -didn't get exactly what they said they were giving me but it was cheap. Second time I was standing looking at the samples when the guy sitting at the desk suddenly barked " What the hell do you want?" Totally out of the blue, totally nuts. Third time I bought online and had it shipped here. Only problem was waiting 20 minutes while the guy swept the floor before getting on fork lift to retrieve my order. I purchased 3,000 sq. ft of flooring from this company and would like to let everyone know THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT!!! I need to wipe the floors every other day or everyday when my grandchildren are here for the summer. I called and they sent someone, who works for them, to check out the finish..every drop that is spilled and every footprint, from bare feet to sneekers to regular shoes leaves an imprint. Their response, "nothing is wrong with the finish, case closed!" I would give no stars, if this were possible. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This has been a nightmare! We ordered floor from them in March last year. After 2 months the floor started buckling ,it now has buckled in 5 places. I spent some time investigating flooring at the big box stores as well as other places in the East Bay. I never had a chance to have a good solid conversation with a knowledgeable flooring expert at any of these places it was just sort of catch as catch can. And then I walked into lumber liquidators on the recommendation of my contractor, and I encountered Danny, the store manager, at the Albany lumber liquidators. He was terrific, gave me the lowdown and skinny on everything I needed to know and now I have absolutely beautiful floors for a reasonable price. if you are trying to decide on how to purchase floors consider that you really need to talk to somebody who has knowledge and experience. But the thing about lumber liquidators is they are able to match prices of the big box stores. In fact I think I probably got a better deal with a lot less stress, and they honored offers that I found online. The website isn't great but even in these Covid times it's worth putting a mask on and going in and having a chat. They have good Covid policies, hand sanitizer, social distance. Really an overall great experience with the store. Everyone I dealt with was great, but I would single out the manager Danny. Top notch. read more

Our experience here was superb from start to end. We went to visit Landon and Shawn 3 times and each visit they demonstrated excellent customer service. They were thorough, informative, and very professional. We were looking to buy 800 sq ft. of engineered or bamboo. They walked us through the pros and cons of each option. Unfortunately, we went with another hardwood company but to no fault of theirs. If we shop again for hardwood we'll be back and will recommend everyone to this location for the excellent service and follow-through provided by Landon and Shawn. Thank you so much, guys! read more

Run pony run and don't look back. I bought maple there and had three huge problems- first the wood from one lot to another was not interchangeable- it would not fit together. I am a cabinet maker so I was able to save it my milling one whole row and keeping them separate in a straight line. Huge pain in the butt. The second problem is they shorted me almost 100 square feet of lumber, but I did not see the problem until a month later when I installed it- no recourse at that point. The third strike was some of the lumber warped after install. It was improperly dried and had differing moisture content. In short the wood was a very poor quality, they screwed me, ( and I did not get kissed) service was a problem too. They are cheap but you get less than you pay for, at least I did. Caveat emptor! read more

Buyer beware. All of the one-star reviews are no accident. When we ordered, delivery was promised in two weeks. When we called three weeks later, we were told the flooring was delayed. One month later, (again with no phone call from LL), are call was greeted with the news that the item was no longer stocked. When we tried to cancel, we were told that well, they could scarf some up. Three more weeks later, we were told the flooring had arrive (again, only after we called them). Then, when our installer showed up to pick up the wood, the materials were suddenly "lost'. When we tried to cancel, the materials were suddenly found. But, when our installers appeared with the wood, it was a cheap, cheap replacement for the quality wood we'd ordered. We sent it back and we are still fighting to get a refund. If you Please do not do business with these folks. read more

they don't stock anything so you have to be perfect in ordering which is near impossible.....and since they take so long for delivery ( they say they take 2 weeks for delivery, it's really 3 weeks) - it ends up costing more to use these guys because either you have to buy a safe extra amount or finish 80% of your floor then wait 3 weeks and do the other 20%. read more

I wish I had read the reviews here first before my purchase. I went to the San Leandro location which they moved to from Albany/Berkeley. I wanted to lay in a hardwood floor into a room that had a hardwood floor removed and a rug put in. I tried to match what was already in the house for color and I purchased brazilian teak. When they went into the warehouse to pull it, they found it was buried behind and under other product. They said they had two boxes of teak in front but one was opened but they assured me it was what I had paid for. They didn't want to have to move all the rest of the product with a forklift just to pull out two boxes for me. I told them right then that if this wood wasn't what they said it was I was going to be very unhappy with them. Needless to say, the guy that laid the floor in said that the opened box was mostly junk wood, scraps from other sources, including a plank that had mold underneath the stain. I've called the store but it continually goes to voice mail. I will file a complaint with the BBB and call my credit card company to see what other options I have. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

I recently purchased over $6000 worth of hardwood flooring and other materials from this store. The order was placed based on Lumber Liquidators' estimator who came out to our house and took measurements and provided a materials list (which we paid for this service as well). The contractor estimated that I would need over 1,000 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring. So, I purchased what was on the materials list. However, after I installed everything, I still had nearly 200 sq. ft. left (that's nearly $1000 worth of wood). I tried to return it to Lumber Liquidators, but they refused because it had been more than 30 days. In general, Lumber Liquidators customer service was fine. Shawn even helped me load 5 carloads of hardwood into my car throughout the course of a day. However, I was NOT happy with their management's unwillingness to accept unused/unopened materials back to their store. In the end, I was able to sell the extra wood for 50 cents on the dollar, so I took a loss of nearly $500...all because of an overly rigid/bureaucratic return policy of Lumber Liquidators, and a bit of my naivety in dealing with these guys.
