Similar to another poster, I was also told the flooring would arrive in time for our project (within 7-10 days). Each time I would call, the delivery date was delayed more and more. When I tried to speak with associates after purchasing flooring, they were often very dismissive and rude. Customer service is only good until you make the purchase. After that, it was awful. We canceled our order even though they have a huge restocking fee. Didn't feel like getting strung along with false promises. read more

WORST Store. One of the worst purchasing experiences I've had. I was promised a 7-10 day delivery timeline, but it's clear this store does not have real inventory and operates on completely unreliable timelines. I waited over 80 days and still did not receive the material. There was no proactive communication, no accountability, and no clear answers on when (or if) the order would be fulfilled. A big part of the issue was the sales rep, James, who repeatedly made commitments and failed to deliver on them. The experience felt misleading and highly unprofessional. If you value your time and money, I would strongly recommend avoiding this store or, at the very least, not relying on any delivery promises they make. read more

Brandon at this store is really the reason folks shop here. He's knowledgably and very customer oriented. Perhaps not the best on the computer but I also can't believe they don't have an admin. At the SF location (~5 years ago, sales people took my order and the materials were picked up in Burlingame). This Albany location is a "one stop for all" so I came by a few times to work on my estimates, selections etc. In addition to helping customers Brandon is also of loading trucks, loading cars (including ours when we decided on materials) so a bit much for one person to do. But he still always is friendly with a smile on his face. He organized installation with a local contractor as well, Brent I think his name was and all went according to plans. NOTE: this is now called Lumber Liquidators again I think, vs LL Flooring. Also I used them because they could match flooring I had gotten installed ~5 years ago in part of my house. read more

BEWARE!!! I purchased vinyl floor planks from Jim for a small job. I wanted 3 boxes, which I believed would be plenty. Jim wrote the order for 4 boxes claiming 3 wouldn't be enough. When I asked if he would refund the full amount if I didn't need the 4th box he said sure, bring it back and I'll take care of you. I brought 1 unopened box back 3 days later. James had me leave it with him and said Ken couldn't do the refund until the next morning. The refund that was done the next morning showed up with a 25% re-stocking fee. I called James and he said corporate would not let him make the full refund and I needed to call them. When I called corporate they refused to make the full refund. Lesson learned. I won't do business with LL Flooring in the future. They are dishonest. read more

Shawn is my new best friend at lumber liquidators! Of course staring at my crappy old carpet during Covid it was time for a change. I had used LL before so I started cruising the site for a hardwood that was similar to what I had in the front of house. I was ready to purchase the floor after grabbing a sample. Scheduled the measure got the number and was ready to roll. Delivery was easy and everyone who works for them seems to be crazy friendly and very knowledgeable about their product. I started the process of getting a quote several months prior to the actual installation but lumber liquidators was extremely patient while I waited for my HOA to give me final approval on the installation. Just tell them if this is holding up the process and they'll stop calling daily/weekly to check in. Mainly I want to give a huge shout out to Shawn. He was super helpful and gives his undivided attention when he's working with you. He even saved me about $200-300 because my flooring was on sale by the time my HPA grantees approval. I didn't have to ask for the sale price. Shawn is just an all around good person. He genuinely wants to see you get an upgrade on flooring. SW was generally really good from quote to actual installation. My 600sq foot condo took just less than two days for the install- two guys handled it all. And it looks great. They were accommodating to my requests to follow the many HOA protocols that are required in my building and kept me updated on how the install was going. All in all this was a positive experience except I had a few dings on my furniture- including curtain rods that were broken because they weren't handled with more care when installers were trying to get them out of the way while the flooring was being installed. It's fairly minor but knocks the experience down to 4 stars. Finally attached is a before and after - proof that new flooring (14mm laminate Nordic Fog Oak in my case) is well worth the investment. read more

I have been shopping around for a couple of years to replace my ceramic tiles in foyer, kitchen and half bath. I really did not want to tear up ceramic but was told it had to come up by several stores. This was going to cost! LL Flooring came by and said no we can put over the tiles? We do it all the time and never had complaints. I was hesitant so had others come out and give estimates some said they could but didn't recommend putting over tiles. We have been in our house for 14 years and the carpet that was installed during its build was definitely low grade and installed with minimal attention it seems. When I walked In, I was greeted in a prompt, friendly and professional manner. I really appreciated the way Roberto was able to answer my questions about planning this project. He was able to tell me almost exactly how much material I would need and when I had some leftover, Lumber Liquidators easily accepted the return and credited back my card. He was also super responsive with calling back when I would phone in with questions. I went with the Roman Marble vinyl tile and I love how it looks in my lower level apartment. I have done business with Lumber Liquidators in other states and have always been happy with their pricing and service. We went to this branch because the closer one in Emeryville burned down - that should have been a warning about what was about to happen. Although this was a small. straightforward DIY project to install laminate flooring, it turned into a long-running, sad joke. First they delivered a pallet of the wrong material (accidents happen, right?) they made good on that after several calls. The real problem was getting stair nosing and trim to finish the job. Nothing was in stock at the store and the initial order (which I paid extra to be shipped to the house) was "damaged in shipment" and never delivered. At this point, calls went unanswered and when I did manage to get through, they were busy with customers in the store and promised to call back. Seriously? Over the several months of this saga I never once got a promised call back from anyone not named Shawn. (He's the only guy working there that understands customer service - including the manager.) Eventually, they cobbled together what I needed from stores all over the state and I went and picked it up myself. Did I get my shipping cost back? Not really - they actually wanted to charge me more for the stuff i ordered and paid for over a month before. This is a keystone cops operation so unless you can get what you need at the store and head home, beware of doing business with this LL location unless you really don't care when your project gets finished. I will be using other flooring companies in the future. read more

Came into lumber liquidators today and was working with Rafael (?). He was very knowledgeable and gave great customer service. The reason for the review isn't about the product itself or installation, but the customer service I received, after our initial conversation and appointment set up for a quote. An older white male came into the store, very upset and being rude overall. At this point, my interaction with Rafael was pretty much over, except I was just looking at the flooring and getting samples. Once I had picked out a few flooring types, I waiting for Rafael but did interjected with a quick question. I was also happy to wait, as the man seemed very impatient. Rafael then turned and offered to get me the samples quickly. The man barked that he was there and was upset that he stoped to help me. Rafael stated that I was actually there first and he was going to grab my samples. Rafael had repeated a few times that I was there first. The white man was clearly upset and actually threatened Rafael in Spanish and repeated himself twice before repeating what he said in English. He stated that if he wasn't going to get help he would cancel his entire order and that "Rafael" was on a thin line by stopping and helping me. He also claimed he had called in first. Which apparently to him made him feel like he would be automatically helped first and above anyone else in the store. I'm honestly only pointing out his white male privilege because it's sick that he would threaten and use his money to try and display his authority over others. And clearly didn't care about anyone else except for himself. And Rafael started to help him immediately as soon as he walked into the store. Also the other sales rep was on break, so it was just Rafael on the floor too! I appreciate Rafael for sticking up for me. I'm actually more upset I didn't call this man out for being so rude. So THANK YOU for helping me. I'm really not sure what happened after I left, but I hope that man realizes what jerk he is. What a small little man. This review is specifically for Robert at Lumber Liquidators. I bought my floors on Saturday, and I was told they would be delivered on Monday. I have an extremely tight timeline, and I told them I would not purchase the floors if they would not be delivered that day (in hindsight that was an error). After purchasing the floors, I got a call a few hours later saying that the floors will would not be delivered until Tuesday morning, and that the delivery company would contact me on Sunday or Monday to give me the exact window. By 5:45 pm on Monday, I still had not received a call by the delivery company. At 5:45 pm - 15 minutes before closing - I pulled into Lumber Liquidators. There I was assisted by Robert. He made at least 5 phone calls, and stayed at least 30 minutes past closing to help me. Robert is the ONLY reason I did not cancel my transaction. He went so far above and beyond to be of service. I am incredibly grateful for all he did to assist and attempt to salvage my projects timeline. Customer service like what Robert provided simply doesn't exist anymore. Great customer service - my wife and I bought a butcher block that was on backorder. One of sales associates let me know that I could come back in one week and it would be waiting for me. We waited two weeks and went over from the North Bay to pick it up. Turns out it wasn't there. We had travelled a good amount of tome to go pick it up so we were bummed it wasn't there ! The assistant manger - Roberto - explained to us that their policy is to only call when the product was in - and that in the future - no call means it's not there - regardless of what the sales associates say. So we learned our lesson. Then as we were leaving - Roberto could tell we were not happy that we waisted time driving around the bay .... he immediately looked for whatever else they had in stock that he could try to substitute. He was able to find something and while it wasn't exactly what we wanted - it worked for us . It was refreshing that it this store cared about our time and went the extra mile to help us. Is it possible to give "0" stars? I'll I have to say is that you better pay with a credit card to be able to charge back when your stuff doesn't come. We ordered a wooden kitchen counter and put a deposit down on it ($200) and 8 weeks later the balance due was put on my card. Assuming it had come in I went to the store only to be told that I had already picked it up! They refused to listen to me and said all the billing and charging for orders was done at their headquarter (a lie). Long story short I charged it back. I was shocked how rude the manager (Dennis) was to me and my wife. I've had other contractor friends who have had simular experiences there. "Headquarters" would do well to get rid of this guy pronto. read more

I had such a positive experience with a purchase and a same day exchange of LVP. I bought some vinyl planks online and set it up for pick up in the Albany location. A few minutes after purchase I received a call that my items were ready for pick-up, got an explaination of the new Covid19 safety pick-up procedure on the phone and set up the time of my arrival. When I got there, I saw my items on a palate outside the building with some papers to sign and an associate from a safe distance confirming those items were in fact mine. When I was getting ready to leave, I took a peak in one of the boxes to confirm the color is correct. To my surprise, I had made a mistake and purchased a peel and stick vinyl plank, instead of a floating one. I wanted to exchange it for what I actually needed but worried they would give me a hard time. Instead, when I called the store (yes, I had to call them on my phone even when I was already there...part of the safety protocol) they didn't fuzz about it and was enthusiastic to help me search for what I actually needed. I'm super grateful for an excellent customer service, especially in times like this. -Great customer service. -Great prices. read more

On the positive side, this store has really decent prices. There are several of them around the bay area,, but this review is about the Albany store. We wanted a 12' and 8' walnut butcher block countertop and miraculously found the 12' in stock at the Concord store, which our contractor picked up within a few hours. The guy we dealt with told us said to order the 8' countertop quickly because there were 80 in stock at the national warehouse, and already 75 ordered. I instantly called the Albany store, near our house, told 'Kirstie' it was a rush situation, and then was subjected to a stream of BS and self-interruptions while she looked up the 8' Walnut countertops. Twenty minutes later she confirmed that there were by then 78 orders for the 80 pieces. But instead of ordering, she told me to let her doublecheck the prices and she would call me back. I hung up and waited half an hour, but she never called back. I finally called her, and she started in again with the verbal stream of consciousness, lots of annoying digressions, and all of it punctuated with random criticisms of me for 'not letting her think.' Finally she took the order and haltingly, while blabbing continuously to herself, got it in to the computer - at this point there was one 8' Walnut countertop left in the country. Not a pleasant cliffhanger. Later I realized the way to go is to stick with the national number to order and just specify the store you want it sent to. Try at all costs to avoid this person at the Albany store unless you have lots of time to waste. read more

I have purchased several items from this store, with the latest purchase being new hardwood flooring. When I made the purchase at the store, I indicated the number of square feet of flooring I wanted, but the manager encouraged me to purchase extra just in case I had a lot of bad boards. He indicated 'After all you can just return it with a 20% restocking fee, and you won't have to wait for us to get more if you didn't get enough'. What he DIDN'T tell me is you only have 30 days to process a return before they won't give you back a dime. Now, after leaving the hardwood in the room for two weeks to acclimatize, that means you only have two weeks to do your entire floor job before they won't take it back. All the other retailers around here have a 90 day return policy.. Thanks for nothing convincing me to buy more, and knowing that I likely wouldn't be able to return it. read more
