May 14, 2026 After several nightmarish remodels we were…read morereluctant to begin a new one. A friend referred KBU and the minute we met Kelly and Nancy, something felt right. We felt comfortable discussing our vision for our kitchen. They were very knowledgeable and listened to our needs. They were not pushy but made suggestions that made sense. After committing to using them, we started the process. It is time consuming, challenging, overwhelming and exciting but they put us at ease. We never felt rushed and they wanted to make sure we were happy with our final decisions. They visited us frequently. KBU does not start projects until all the materials are delivered, which is a huge pro. The work with a previous company, was very choppy as they began working as individual materials arrived, which extends the completion time and the mess. The day the project began, the crew, Rade and Jesus, came in and thoroughly covered up the areas that were not under construction. The demolition went smoothly and the crew cleaned up every night before ending their shift. They were very respectful and professional. It was a very pleasant experience. This was a great first impression and they didn't disappoint moving forward. Their work is perfect and they are very precise. We gutted our kitchen, opened it up to the living/dining room, and added an island. This was a complete remodel. The entire process was monitored by Nancy and Owen. They visited us frequently and were very patient in answering any concerns or questions we had. Of course, we had several change orders, but they were always open to the changes. Owen and Nancy were very patient in explaining the process and listening to our concerns. They are a great team and very committed to customer satisfaction. Our friends visited during renovations and were so impressed with our kitchen that they decided to work with KBU. Our kitchen turned out above and beyond beautiful. The crew work is precise. Any issues that came up were handled immediately and professionally. KBU does not take short cuts and stand by their work. We would recommend KBU to anyone considering a remodel. No more nightmares for us after working with a team of true professionals. We wish them all the best in the future of their business, lives, and family. They are hardworking, professional, competitively priced, and most importantly honest. They commit to their promises. Thank you to the entire team, including those behind the scenes that we may have never met. Sandy and Scott-Morton Grove

We were warned repeatedly: "A kitchen remodel will be a nightmare--don't live there while it's…read morehappening!" That, along with a few other cautions, set our expectations before starting our project with Kitchen & Baths Unlimited. For my wife and me, however, the experience turned out very differently. We cannot say enough great things about Nancy (design), Owen (project management) and the entire team that meticulously executed the remodel. While I work from home and my wife commutes downtown, we decided to move forward with gutting and remodeling the vintage kitchen in our 100-year-old farmhouse in Evanston--and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Yes, the demolition phase was a bit loud, as expected. But after that, the usual construction noise--hammering and drilling--was manageable. The team did an excellent job minimizing disruption: adjacent rooms were carefully sealed to contain dust, wood floors were protected with panels, and window treatments were wrapped in plastic. Design selections were also made easy thanks to Nancy, who guided us through choosing colors, cabinets, and countertops that matched our vision. The result is a beautiful transformation from a neglected, dingy farmhouse kitchen into a bright, modern farmhouse space. The Italian tile backsplash complements the quartz countertops with subtle veining. The lower cabinets are a soft gray, while the upper cabinets are white, creating a clean and balanced look. We also upgraded our appliances and fixtures, including LED ceiling lights, a Bosch microwave drawer, a professional KitchenAid range with a matching hood featuring an infrared sensor, and a modern stainless-steel farmhouse sink with a gentle bow. Despite an initial delay with the permit office due to a previously applied for permit that KBU helped us manage, the project stayed on schedule. We made a few minor upgrades along the way, but thanks to Owen and Nancy's guidance, we remained on time and within our overall budget. The KBU crew was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. Communication was seamless--especially since I was working from home--which helped address questions quickly and keep the project moving efficiently. In the end, we passed all inspections and received written approval from the village within a day. For us, this remodel was a great success. Thank you to Nancy, Owen, Patricia, Rade, and the entire team! You are the BEST!
