    Artistic Granite and Quartz Count

Desiring to update our kitchen with new quartz countertops, we found this source through Yelp. The…read morecrew that came out to do the work was punctual, pleasant and professional. They completed the job in approximately 5 1/2 hours including cleanup. Their craftsmanship was superb, and yes, we are very pleased with our new countertops. Not so our communication with Artistic's sales rep. She was outwardly friendly and polite, but it typically took her several days to respond to messages. Her confusion about some of our questions made us wonder whether she understood much about fabrication and installation. Also, we found her guidance to be misleading. She convinced us to replace our old overmount porcelain sink with a new stainless steel undermount sink. Which might have been okay, except my Missus made a point of saying that she wanted enough space between the sink and backsplash to accommodate two accessory trays. Not only did we end up with a smaller sink but also less counter space than before! In retrospect, a rectangular sink (though more costly) would have been a better choice than what was installed. Since we were past the point of no return, we asked if they would at least move the soap dispenser to provide more usable space. To make a long story short, nearly 4 months following our initial visit to their showroom, a worker finally came out to make the adjustment. He assured us he would return the next week to complete the job by filling in the original hole with a like material. We never heard from him again and there has been no response to our text messages.

I'd NEVER recommend this company. There were so many other companies in this location that we…read morecould have gone to... but fate or misfortune brought us here. We contracted to have Uba Tuba installed throughout our kitchen. They finally installed the countertops at the end of '23. As the installers were finishing up, a guy showed up to inspect their work. We engaged in conversation while the crew of (2) finished the work. I specifically asked him about the durability and care of the stone, to which he confidently replied that it was practically indestructible - no need for cutting board or trivet, you could probably hammer on it and its not going to harm it. .. Anyways, we spoke for a while. Seemed to be a nice guy, even stated if anything happens he'll come out right away... Well, just as soon as they left, we noticed a substantial mark on one of the counter segments. I looked like a grinder scrape, probably 6-8" long. It was initially hard to notice because they appear to use an oil-based solution to glam it up upon completion. We immediately contacted the guy who came at the end and he said he'd notify the installer to return to repair the damage. One of them returned within an hour and did what looked like an attempt to polish it out. After working on it for like an hour, apparently, he thought it looked finished, so he polished it up again with the oily stuff and told us to wait an hour or two. Unfortunately, after several hours, the area, which originally has these grinding scores, now had an even bigger damage from the attempted polishing, and the section had this hazy glaze about 2" wider than before. We contacted the same man to tell him about the issue and he said not to worry because they'd just come back another day and replace the whole piece, which is about 5'. He told my husband to set it up with Smytha, at the Artistic office. Weeks turned into months, as my husband kept leaving messages requesting a call back. and no one following up. Finally, March 9, 2024, I called the office and spoke directly to Smytha. She told me they'd schedule the replacement but were so busy, but she'd call me back the next week to get it on schedule. After not hearing from them by mid-week, I called again. They scheduled for 3/22/24 but had an issue with some machine and had to reschedule. They finally returned on 3/26/24. So, the foreman guy and one other installer show up. They replace the damaged slab and leave. After they are gone, I take a look at the piece they replaced and notice that the piece on this section is a noticeable difference from what was installed for the rest of the kitchen. The first had a majority of blacks and grey, the new section was black and BROWNS, with very little grey. I suppose out of frustration, we didn't call them. I feel foolish because we had no reason to feel like we shouldn't "bother" them with this. But really, they are the supposed experts. The guy we spoke to claimed like 20 yrs with is company. I'm sure they knew it wasn't a match, but just wanted to get us off their backs. I swear, I also noticed a chip on the edge of the island across from the area being serviced which I do not believe was there before they arrived. But again, I say nothing....Ok, so it's been not even a year. I'm still having trouble accepting that the pieces are a different design because they are such large sections and they are not placed far enough away from each other not to notice, so, yes, I am triggered about it when I think about it, especially anytime guest are over. And, that "durability" that we were assured that the counters had? Well, after only ONE time, I've learned this wasn't true either. I am really disappointed having chose this company.

Called the day prior to understand their process and if an appointment is needed, which was confirmed is not. We went to specifically select tile, but was open to view counter material in stock and if we liked something else from what we already picked somewhere else. Walking in, the woman at the front desk "greeting" you, doesn't look up or at you when speaking, rambles off where to find which kind of tile, while continue working on whatever engaged her more than potential customers. We came prepared with cabinet samples and ideas and started browsing around for nearly 15 minutes. Not once, did anyone come by to ask if we need help finding anything or if we have questions. I went to the front desk to inquire about a tile I liked on their website to see if they have it in-store to view. Again, the front desk representative, continued working on whatever was more important, without looking at me, and "explained" where I could find it. When I repeated the location back to her, she spoke over her shoulder without making eye contact, and said "It's somewhere between the 3rd and 4th rack; just look, you'll see it." We decided in that moment, that we'd prefer to NOT buy tile here. To the Management - the people you employ, represent you and your company. Either, training is lacking, or your employees do not value your customers in the same way you do. To the Front Desk employee - when you have a job, that is customer-facing, you need to be engaging and actually look them in the eye when speaking to them. If you do not feel comfortable doing so, you are in the wrong position, and need to apply for something that's at a desk, where you only interact with a computer.

We liked what we heard and the vision they gave. Jeff P was our project manager and Dove was our decorator. We love our kitchen and they were great to work with. In fact, we loved the kitchen so much that we hired them to gut our family room and redo that the following year. PERFECTION! Chris Hilgers was our Project Manager (great guy) and Dove was back with us on this project. So, now that those 2 rooms were new and amazing, the flooring in the living/dining room needed to be the same and the carpet on the stairs and upstairs landing needed to be replaced to match. So, a year later we started that project and we were fortunate to work with Tammy and Sean. Tammy got everything ordered and Sean (so personable) implemented everything to again-PERFECTION! The one thing that stands out with this place are the workers. Every single person we dealt with was great. From the kitchen remodel-Jeff P, Dove, Will, Chris G, Tommy etc, to the family room- Chris H, Dove, Tommy, Will, Chris G and then to our Living/Dining/Stairs-Sean, and Tammy they worked hard to please us. John, the owner, got us started on each project, which was a nice touch. I hope I didn't forget anyone! So, if you are thinking of remodeling, OHI should be on your list of consideration. You won't be disappointed. Thank you.
