Pork Chive Dumplings - we made them!
Ashley P.

Had the guys from Little Tiger Dumpling come to my house to teach us to make dumplings and provide food for a Lunar New Year party. They were so great - everyone had tons of fun and the food was so yummy! We can't wait to have them back for another party!!

Destiny E.

Came here for lunch with a colleague. It was fine. The dumplings weren't hyper flavorful, but they weren't bad. Because of the type of food haul this is, I don't expect too much from the service, but after sitting at the bar for a bit, someone did come by and ask if we would like water. Everything was ordered through the QR code. I think we paid 35 to 40 for two orders of dumplings and two special drinks. My colleague liked her tea/lemonade drink. I ordered a Thai milk tea and it was terrible. Literally tasted like orange water. Again, this is a food hall, so the vibe is sort of all over the place, but it's a more upscale food hall, so you don't feel like you're in a food court, and that's nice. I think in total we waited like 15 to 20 minutes for our food? Not bad.

Little Tiger Dumplings, the sister restaurant of the Tiger Dumplings at Clarendon, had a wonderful grand opening in the food court at Upside at the Moore. It is in the mall directly above Rosslyn metro station. They had a majestic lion dance to celebrate their opening as well as the lunar new year. Over here the menu is similar to that at Clarendon but they have Teibei pork chop noodle which is delicious. Dumplings are as tender as those at the Clarendon location. Also highly recommended is the scallion pancake: thin, flaky and crispy. Comes with a nice sauce and pink pickled radish. You scan the QR code on the table and they deliver food to the table. Very efficient. You can also eat at the counter and watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen.

Hot tea provided

A friend and I found a dumpling making class offered at the Arlington location and decided to give it a try. It was my first experience at Little Tiger Dumpling and I'll say it definitely won't be my last. The owner and director of this event was so kind, welcoming and helpful. The rest of his staff made it a point to engage with every guest during the class and keep the class moving at a fun pace. I had never had a dumpling before, nor had I made one, so I went in completely "blind." We were seated in a large circle around the room and the director spoke at a loud volume so all could hear. He made sure to rotate during demonstrations so all could see and even invited us to stand and move closer if we needed more time to learn. Although I was struggling to get the dough just right before adding the stuffing, I was able to have a good laugh while learning from a few different staff members. I successfully made four ugly dumplings and was proud. The company provided bubble tea, hot tea, water, candies and appetizers during the class per the class ticket, and all were delicious, especially the wontons. The staff took our dumplings, cooked them and brought them back to our tables for us to enjoy. The top ~9 dumpling makers received prizes for their performances and all guests received beautiful bookmarks and a personal thank you from the director for their participation. During the end of the session, we were asked if there were any classes we were interested in taking as he was accepting new ideas to add to his roster. I loved this!! He also offered a few discounts to everyone for returning to this location and their main Tiger Dumpling location. Overall this was a highly enjoyable girls night experience and we will be back again.

This time we had our baby and I wasn't impressed with the lack of sides or anything to get for her. We asked for two eggs scrambled with cheese but were told we'd have to buy an egg prosciutto sandwich for $11 and tell them we didn't want any of the items. Um, no. The tuna sandwich asked for lettuce and told can't add lettuce. My husband asked for something not on his lamb pita, same story. Oh well. No customization at all, no subs. Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. Not to my liking. $70 for three sandwiches, two coffees and two cookies.

Food is decent enough, especially the tasty shakshuka with lentils, but the omelet was quite dry. And maybe it's just me getting old, but the classical background music was way too loud for a Sunday. There's enough people chattering to keep the place lively. This space was empty for awhile, so I'm glad Yours Cafe is here, and I wish them success.

This location is an entire vibe. It's tucked down a painted alley that leads you to a side entrance, which I actually preferred over the front. Parking is what it is at the Wharf, but I recommend parking near the museum and walking over. Once inside, you're met with gorgeous decor and a thoughtfully designed space that feels like a Spanish-style bar set in nature. The tile, the color palette, and the food and drink options all come together beautifully. I ordered the Carrot Cake Con Leche, which came out to about $8 after tax. It was tasty and a great treat after my morning run. It did take about 15 to 20 minutes to receive my order, but given how busy it was, that felt understandable. I'm looking forward to returning and experiencing it at a calmer time.

Also learned that they offer classes there! Love that they have I house roasting that you can also see. Ordered the Banana Foster's Iced Latte - however, it wasn't over ice? It was lukewarm. I think if it was over ice it would have been better. We found that strange and that is what knocked it down to 4 stars.
