If you have friends and you need to catch up this is the place ! They have live singers and the restaurant is cozy and full of laughter and conversations .It is tucked away inside of the mall and they do have a B but...going inside it's clean and organized.We ended up getting lamb,beef and pork skewers with corn cheese and a clam vermicelli noodle dish everything was so tasty I could spend over an hour there.they do give you an iPad to order and and the service is very fast.
Visited this place for the first time and instantly fell in love. This hidden gem has live music playing and complimentary sunflower seeds at the front. You can order what you want on the ipad and the food is delicious. The skewers are tiny but they're worth the price and extremely flavorful. The malatang is seasoned well and is great for the winter time. This is an amazing spot to check out with a group of friends. The potato tornado was also our fav!
Little Skewer re-opened with a very nice interior and redesign. We got the lamb skewer, potato skewer, a soup, and durian pizza. The skewer, as expected, has a lot of sticks, but very little per bite. I think I'd rather get the meat skewers somewhere else. The potato one was VERY good and I was impressed. Slightly sweet, and very crunchy. We also had a tofu soup (slightly sweet, not pictured) that was we enjoyed. Durian pizza was very unique - very durian and cheesy. Not a great pizza, but an interesting bite to try once. Overall, would come back to try the other skewers as they have a lot of options I would want to try.
Totally hilarious! It was by recommendation I came here even though I have seen and passed by numerous of times! If you know what mini brands are, it is the same reaction when the skewers came out! It is way too funny because pics made it seem like shish kebab sizes, no- it is like tapas more so. Anyways the most comical part of all was the live singer using a tablet for karaoke. Sure it was professional and makes great entertainment but no one would ever expect all these types of additions for a restaurant that seem so unassuming! Absolutely 5++++ stars for the ambience, great service, live singer, free chips/sunflower seeds/dessert for the taking, tidy bathroom, and flavors. Above all--- their bingsu dessert, particularly matcha was very surprisingly mind blowing. They added toppings that were fresh and that famous popsicle on top. Their menu looks continuous with endless offerings. The soup with vermicelli and other add ons was ok spicy but the flavor was exploding - almost too good. The tea was whoppin' strong - my god- it was like a shot to the heart via your tastebuds. It is rare that I give 5++++ because it takes a lot of effort for a business to make 100 things all come together and converge for an ultimate experience. It was like all-around so manyyyy things going on and it was packeddddd on a Friday. I also saw a table next to me order a fresh smoothie pitcher. So many things on the menu That i seriously did not even notice, geez. Meanwhile- to all the negative reviews- it is true that this place has somewhat specialty dishes and is more ethnic and different than compared to normal asian cuisines. But it is what it is. I just want to appreciate all the little details this place created because it is not easy to mesh so many elements of what makes a good restaurant come to life they way it does. I plan to be back because there are too many items to try in one sitting. Hope any one who wants to give it a try has an open mind. The only thing that i actually cannot wrap myself around is that one of their skewer items have separate kernels individually poked through. Now that is excessive and not necessary- I give credit for detailed work but come on! The labor can be used for other bigger items! But to each their own!
Food here is solid for late night eating! Normally get the beef and squid skewers. Their skewers are quite small, so they tend to be on the dry side. I don't mind this, but it's not everyone's taste for sure. The skewers are well seasoned, and it's that typical cumin spice flavor. Probably coming back again because the vibes at night are chill after an entire night out.
The food here is good but portions are really small hence the name Little Skewer (its literally little skewers). My favorite thing here was actually the watermelon juice and pumpkin buns. Pros: - Modern restaurant - Decent size bathrooms with multiple stalls - Easy to make reservations - They're flexible if whole group isn't here Cons: - It's unclear to me why I couldn't make a reservation at 6pm. There were plenty of tables available at that time
I hosted my birthday party here and liked that the staff was very attentive and accommodating for my large group of 12. We had a semi-private room to ourselves and they kept checking in every so often to make sure our needs were met. The food and drinks were also really good but I especially liked trying the Osmanthus Wine and Lychee Wine because they came in such pretty pouring bottles. This is a good spot for large groups since the skewers are meant to be shared. There's also live music at night but we left before we got to see any musicians. I can't remember everything we ordered but for the ones I do remember: Osmanthus Wine 9/10 Lychee Wine 9/10 Lamb Spine Hot Pot 8/10 Pork Belly and Sauerkraut 9/10 Assorted Skewers 6/10 - A bit skinnier than I would've liked and the meat was tough. For a place that specializes in skewers, I expected more but it was all of their other dishes and drinks that impressed me.
little skewers is one of those spots where the food ranges from decent to good, but the conversations are even better. it is giving hidden gem since it is tucked away in the corner of the food hall. i mean, the motto is to eat, drink, and reminisce -- and that is exactly the atmosphere. i have been here multiple times with both friends and family, and the setting works well for both groups. my go to orders almost always include the grilled fish tofu, roasted cauliflower, clams with vermicelli, grilled oysters, beef belly skewers, homemade arctic surf clams, and more. i also always get the plum juice or watermelon juice -- always so refreshing when paired with yeet hei foods. needless to say, little skewers will always be an option when in flushing. also, the chinese name roughly translates to "a small bistro from the past" -- kind of poetic and nostalgic, so where does "little skewers" come from?
This place is tucked away inside the back of the building. It has a nice interior design that feels like you are in an ancient China village. You placed your order on an iPad. You will see some items mentioned discount for members. You do not need to buy the membership. All you need to do is add your phone number. You get a discount on some of the items. The skewer is teeny tiny, my favorite was the grilled beef brisket it's the only one that only comes in three. Other skewers come in ten or twenty. The cheese corn, chives, cucumber salad, and duck blood with cabbage pot were very tasty. It's a great place to hang out with friends.
Love the vibes of this place--historic and decorated beautifully. The food comes out pretty quickly as well and you can order off an iPad. The meat skewers themselves were flavorful, but portions were pretty small. I would say they're just alright. The vegetarian options were what sold me. I loved the enoki mushroomsm, chives, and the soft tofu. Another honorable mention were the scallops--those were delicious and came out piping hot. We also ordered some lychee wine and it came out in a cute little teapot and shot glasses. We ordered some non-alcoholic plum wine as well--interestingly enough this tasted like McDonald's barbecue sauce.

Fun experience, prompt service, tasty bites, and intimate date spot or small group. It really felt time as though time stood still while here. Able to order items off of an iPad at the table and it was delivered immediately. The skewers are delivered cooked and store on a little cooker to be kept warm. Definitely a unique dining experience that was very enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hidden gem in Flushing. Didn't need a reservation and no wait. read more

Affordable skewers to get in flushing! There are a lot of choices, but I recommend the pork intestines, beef aorta, fish tofu, lamb, and beef skewers! Other things I've tried are the squid and egg tofu hot plate, yogurt, and coconut milk. Those are great in case you cannot handle spicy! They have an iPad for you to place the order and it comes very quickly. The ambience is very cute and well decorated. This place is tucked at the back of the plaza! This place serves mini skewers which helps with portion control and can provide the illusion that you're getting more skewers than normal since these can go by pretty quickly. What really surprised me was the durian pizza and how good it was! This was the first time I've had this combo and it sounds weird, but durian with melted cheese is actually really good. They have live music at night which adds to a great atmosphere. read more
Two stars are purely for the service which was stellar. They changed our plates frequently and made sure to come to the table if we needed anything. Unfortunately the food was...not great. Smallllll portions and all very one note. The menu says 20 pieces for $9.99 for most things and it makes you think WOW but in reality each piece is so minuscule that when combined, it's the same as a normal $2 skewer on a street in flushing. Don't come here for the food unless you like overpaying for things you can find right outside on the corner of flushing. read more

Hubby and I have been wanting to try this place and finally made it this weekend. I love the decorations in here and service was quick as well. On the little skewers you can choose the level of spiciness. We tried Squid Legs, Australia Tiger Prawn, Pork Belly (so-so), Chicken Skin, Chicken Gristle, and small fish. They were all quite tasty and the squid and chicken gristle were my fav. Also tried the Grilled Oysters and it was pretty good. We finished with an order of the Golden Soup Ma La Tang Pot. Overall above average but not outstanding. I would come back again when in mood for some skewers and soup pot. read more
Great ambiance and excellent decor. It really sets the vibe right when you walk in. There was a live singer there today and if you wanted you could go up and sing as well. The food especially the clay pot dishes and hot plates were amazing! The enoki hot plate and the sour soup beef were my fave. The skewers were also good but I felt like they needed a bit more seasoning. (Maybe they can have some on the side) Service was quick and basically we didn't have to wait for anything. Great experience overall! Left feeling satisfied. Worth the visit for sure! read more

The ambiance was delightful, resembling a vintage Chinese tavern. The live music, combined with the decor, transported me to a different world. The service was commendable - attentive wait staff regularly cleared the table of debris and finished dishes. Accessing anything we needed, from ordering more items to checking out, was effortlessly done through a tablet. No need to wait or signal the staff. The food was superb, with the bread surpassing expectations--crisp and full of flavor. Opted for mild spice on the skewers, and they were quite flavorful. Each order provided 20 small bites. The sausage appetizer was smokey and sweet with a nice crisp. The only drawback was the egg crepe. It was filled with cilantro, which I'm not a fan of, but otherwise tasted good. I absolutely loved this place. The decor looks like a real old school Wuxia TV series. You feel like you're in ancient China, eating skewers and drinking rice wine. I loved the chicken skin and intestines skewers. They are super crispy and well seasoned. All 3 flavors of the drinks were good too. The service was impeccable. I can't wait to go back. read more

This is the second time coming back here and it's for a good reason. Drinks are affordable and paired with skewers makes this the perfect spot to catch up. The food portion are small, but priced well. The ambiance makes up for it because it's a very chilled place. The staffs are attentive and welcoming. read more

Love the ambiance. Service was good too. Mainly disappointed at the food, specifically skewers. All the dishes were good except for the skewers.. but as a skewer focused restaurant, most of the skewers came out room temperature, they were not even sizzling hot, especially the lamb skewers, they were hard and stuck on the sticks, so it seemed like they were all premade and just got heated up a bit. read more

Food-*** tasty skewers but note it's called "little skewers" for a reason-- you literally need to nibble off the skewers. Conclusion: You are nibbling/licking salt &fat off a stick. While tasty. Very little food. Thus, 10-20 sticks per "meat" order. Great concept and novel idea. Lol. Very pricey for what it is. But good for the experience. Atmosphere***** Decor is Simulated old China wine Pub. Cute for pictures. Liquor *** Cheap wine and beer. Flavored wine while very tasty is cheap low level alcohol left me w immediate hangover headache. Wait staff**** Friendly wait staff. Helpful and attentive. But got spotty when it got busy. Recommend? - yea for a good time and an interesting experience. While it seems cheap to start off. Adding skewers to fill up adds up $$$ quickly. read more

The food is pretty mid for the price, but the ambiance and service were 10/10. We got a diverse selection of skewers, which all tasted the same with the same sauce. The skewers were tiny, so they were all pretty dry. The highlight was the duck blood soup. read more

The atmosphere was casual and the establishment had interesting decor. The service was good and our server was patient enough to explain various items on the menu.
