I love this place! Taro bubble tea in Elgin!? YES! I've been there twice now and the people are so nice. The restaurant itself is super cute and clean. I've order their pork pad thai, crab rangoon, potstickers and spring rolls. ALL YUM!! Especially the potstickers... They're huge!! And they come with this to die-for sauce. I get crab rangoon whenever possible.. this is some good stuff. Their pad thai was surprisingly on the spicy side, but, really, I have no complaints what so ever with this place. Fantastic! Not only does this place have a great "Fro-Yo" decor to it, but the food and price is the best around. The lunch special is a good buy, and the two for $20 is a wonderful dinner option. First visit tonight. We ate in and did their 2 for $20 deal. We had wonton soup, veggie friend rice, sesame chicken, shrimp with broccoli and egg rolls. Plus a side of crab rangoon. Portions were generous - we had leftovers. The rice had lots of large pieces of veggies. Soup was delicious and hot. Food came to our table in courses. The dining area was clean. There was a steady stream of people coming in to pick up their orders. We will definitely go back. The food wasn't greasy or salty. We used to go to Gilberts (original owner) in Dundee. We ordered a delivery for two. We had the Kung Pao and really didn't like it, the taste was off. Can't explain it, but it didn't taste like regular Kung Pao, it was more sweet than the spicy kick I'm used to. The orange chicken tasted frozen and some of the pieces were cold. Never in my life have I see such incompetence. Beware of bait and switch, especially on deliveries. And if you think they'll fix your order, guess again. Keep your credit card issuer's number handy and be at the ready to place a dispute. I was a regular customer for several years, over the last year the service has declined. I've watched the dinning area decline from lack of maintenance (you know grunge-y in the corners and tables not kept in order). The addition of uninspired help. The packaging use to be nice but it was swapped out for something cheaper. My impressions are that this is a symptom of trying to cut more out in the margins (also known as greed. unless, it's a result of innovation) but you get what you pay for. I use to call and my order would be ready in 10 minutes.I totally understand things get busy but, my last several experiences, I was quoted 20 minutes on the phone and then had to wait 10 minutes when I got there. Today was my last visit - I asked for a refund after waiting for 20 minutes (40 total) the totally disinterested lackadaisical counter help couldn't even give me a real idea of how much longer I would have to wait when I had to ask, she just said '5 minutes, I think'. I hope they can find customers who don't value their own time - because they don't. When asking for a refund, I was also treated a like jerk (remember I'm a long time customer, they know me to a degree) - not one apology, concern or offer - just attitude and ire about how they were going to have to throw the food out. It literally took 2 HOURS to get our food. After 1 hour and 20 minutes passed, we called to make sure our order was still coming, which they told us it was. 20 minutes later, we got a call from the teenage driver apologizing that his car got "stuck in a muddy driveway" and that it'll be another 20 minutes. Our food was somehow still warm... yet not very good. My "Hot & Spicy Chicken" literally had ZERO spice. Zero. It went right into the garbage. My husband was nice enough to share his mediocre General Tso Chicken with me so I had something to eat after the long wait and big disappointment. The only redeeming quality of this entire experience was the Hot & Sour Soup. It was actually delicious and I'm not personally a fan of this type of soup in general. If the taste of the Chicken Mei Fun is anything to go by, I will be enjoying this place more often. We ordered delivery at work, so I can't speak to customer service or ambience at the restaurant, but the ingredients were fresh and well spiced. At many places the Chicken tastes like it's been in the fridge for a few days. This chicken tasted quite fresh. My only gripe? For 3 meals we were only given one packet of mustard. Easily fixed by asking for more - if you happen to think about it while ordering. One of the reviews said they have a Korean dish, so I'm looking forward to visiting them soon. read more

Have been home sick for the last few days, went to Immediate Care Center, then went to Pharm for my Rx's, then because I don't feel like cooking, came here and ordered 2 larges quarts of the Egg Drop Soup to go. I was planning on having one serving and then saving the wrest of it. I just finished my 1st quart and the Egg Drop Soup was great, not to salty and just the right amount of scallions and Egg. I am very picky when it comes to soups and salt, I could not even taste any salt in the soup, which is a good thing! read more

Love this place!! Now that being said, I usually order Dragon and Phoenix spicy, fried potstickers and occ crab Rangoon. All are really tasty and great! I order online and there are coupons. I haven't had anything bad here yet, although I do tend to order and add instructions like "less sweet" more "spicy" etc. we order pick up only too. Everything is hot, fresh and generously portioned. Great prices and good food, but it's not 4 or 5 because I got such a small amount of meat in my pepper steak entree. The pepper steak was delicious, I just wish I would have got more. Instead it was 90% onions, 5% green peppers and 5% pepper steak. So very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend the pepper steak to anyone because of that. read more

The atmosphere was a little strange, a little too open and kind of chilly(I went in December). That being said the food was delicious, and had large portions for a good price. I had the crab rangoons and they were the best I've ever tasted. If you order the lunch special you can substitute a generous portion of Lo Mein for 2 dollars extra. The general tso's chicken was perfect, and the lo Mein was good but a little salty. All in all a great meal for a great price. Take out would be a good option. read more

We had the Sweet and Sour Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Honey Chicken with Pineapple, Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls, Egg Drop Soup, and Chicken Fried Rice...yes, there was a big crowd! I had also ordered Beef Pepper Steak, but unfortunately, that didn't make it into the delivery box :( However, there was plenty of food for us to share, and it was all good, that I gladly forgave that little mistake. This is place has the worst service. I have ordered from them online THREE times and every time they have claimed to have no history of the order when I call. I receive confirmation emails from them saying my order will be delivered "ASAP" but they never show. They always apologize for the problem and say their website must be temporarily down, but the problem is never fixed. I have requested refunds for having to wait over 2 hours for my food and they claim they can't do anything to help me. I am not sure why we keep going back to such crappy service. Chose this place because I was starving and it was close to the beauty school that my mom was having her hair done at. The store was impressively well decorated and clean. I Ordered the Thai cashew chicken. For $6.50 the lunch special came with rice and a drink. The rice was good and had unexpected pieces of chicken in it. The Thai dish was super salty. I tried to explain my unhappiness with the cashier but there was a major language barrier. The phone rang in the middle of me trying to explain that my food was too salty for the 3rd time. I sat down and just decided to choke it down. You would think that once she got off the phone she would come over and resume the conversation and try to resolve my complaint. I think she assumed that since I continued eating it that all was well. I honestly think she just didn't care. read more
