Very nicely decorated! I was really impressed by the atmosphere. Usually these "homemade" Chinese food restaurants are pretty tacky, but this place is well lit and designed. The food was great, I had the orange chicken dinner special. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. It was a lot of food for around 8 bucks! The only downside is the amount of MSG. Yes, it is to be expected in Chinese food, but I was overwhelmed at how quickly it took over. I felt too full and heavy in a matter of minutes. I caught myself thinking "never again" and I really didn't eat that much. Not a good choice for anyone with a wheat allergy or gluten issue! Or if you're looking to live a healthier lifestyle. I love this place! My husband and I order delivery from Little Panda (almost) every other Friday and it never fails us. He always orders the orange chicken and loves it. This place is so clean. They're a little expensive but the food is fresh right out of the pan and their sesame chicken is so crispy but soft absolutely amazing. They have great almond cookies too and their service is good. If you look at the back of the menu there is coupons depending on how much money you spend. The bathrooms are very clean as well. This place is okay, the egg roll / spring rolls are small but cheap. Portions are good (I already ate some before taking photos). We were looking for good Chinese food for delivery at work. I have a gluten allergy which is next to impossible with Chinese food. Our office is apparently tricky to find because no matter how much we explain and give directions, people are typically late and lost. Today the food arrived from Little Panda earlier than quoted -- with no phone calls to ask for additional directions. (woo hoo) The food (including the egg drop soup) arrived piping hot. Actually very good for being fast Chinese (Asian) food. Our order (with special instructions) was ready in 15 minutes. It was much better than other places nearby that cost a lot more and do not have your order ready quickly, especially if substitutes are made. The staff were kind and caring. I was asked about details that are normally ignored by restaurants. Our order consisted of 3 appetizers, 2 Chef Specialties, noodles, and Sweet Biscuits (Chinese Donuts.) Everything was delicious and was under $40.00. The last 2 local Asian restaurants we tried cost almost twice as much for the same / similar order (Silver Lake was over $70.00 and was not half as good.) First time and the last. The fried rice tasted like a box of rice a roni I don't think it ever saw a wok just dry and bland. I don't know if it is really fair to write a review after eating only one item from a restaurant but I'm doing it because I am so impressed with the one item. The shrimp lo mein is delicious after you add some soy sauce. I have been here 3-4 times in the last two week just for the shrimp lo mein. I am very picky about eating chinese food and especially shrimp because in some chinese restaurants that have a real strange fishy smell and taste. The shrimp here is tasty and not fishy. I did have the egg roll so I guess that's two menu items that I've had. I am not really fond of the egg rolls. I'll stick with the shrimp lo mein for now. My last visit, the cashier was really nice and friendly. I do want to comment on portion size. They are a bit small. I usually order a large and can finish it off in one meal. read more

I've been going to Little Panda for lunch since they first opened and they are great. Being a vegetarian I really love their extensive non-meat menu. It claims to be a Chinese Asian Restaurant, but it also has cuisine from other parts of Asia, most notably Thailand. They also serve Ramune here, which is hard to find in many Asian restaurants. I also love that the food is served Asian style in taste instead of American Asian style. The Pad Thai I order is not warm and very spicy, just the way I had it when I was living in Southeast Asia! The staff are very friendly, the food is good and the dining area is clean and modern. Great place for carry out. Dinning would be great, but there are not many seats to accommodate large groups. If you are looking for good Asian food, Little Panda would be your bet. If you are looking for Americanized Asian food I'd try Panda Express or some other Asian knock off. read more

im honestly a snob for chinese restaurant here in Elgin coz Id rather drive to Chinatown, Schaumburg or Naperville if I really want to have good Chinese food. Little Panda is not bad at all. My work ordered some of LP food for lunch and I was very surprised. The price is a little higher than chinatown for sure but because the food was good, deducting one star wouldn't be fair. I love their shrimp with vegetables, it's very tasty and the sauce is delicious. I am not a fan of vegetables but this made me eat vegetables that day haha. I wish there was a lot of shrimps in it tho. There was only 6-8 pieces of shrimp in a large order. Not enough!!! But they were very generous with the vegetables LOL oh well. The vegetables were cooked right. I can tell when the vegetables are fresh and if it's cooked right (im that picky with veggies). Their orange chicken is probably the only orange chicken that I would eat. Ive had orange chicken from millions of chinese restaurant (not a fan of orange chicken either, but friends/family order them most of the time), LP has the best IMHO. Their mongolian beef was good but I guess I had better. Don't go there too early or on time when picking up your to-gos, they're always 5-20mins late in handing your take out orders. read more

Oh, Little Panda, we wanted to love you, but alas it was failure on first delivery. Our food came when expected, it smelled delicious; however, I asked for extra soy sauce, your order arrived with NONE. I ordered Mongolian beef, I had MAYBE six pieces of meat in my dish, the rest was mushrooms and onion, I was so incredibly disappointed that there wasn't more of what I actually wanted...and ordered. Little "pile of suck". We ordered for a large party, and went to pick it up. After waiting a half hour at the restaurant, after being told it would take 20 mins to be ready from our call in order,we FINALLY got our food. We went over it with the guy at the counter to make sure it all was there. We get back to the house and one dish was missing. Not so great after waiting so long for our pre-ordered food. We then asked for them to deliver the missing dish and they said it would be here "right away", which is apparently over an hour to this establishment. After asking for this to be delivered, they continually asked how we would be paying for this. We reiterated that it was their mistake. The Bangkok fried rice was SUPER salty, so much so that is was inedible. The pad Thai was far to spicy than any other I have had. I also found a hair in my food. I would go elsewhere unless you want bad service, and less than mediocre food. Never again. read more

I don't know what's with all the reviews here. This is one of the best Chinese places I've been to. The interior is gorgeous. The prices are reasonable and the menu is diverse. It's your typical Chinese menu, but there are also Thai and Japanese dishes, too. All the food just looks so bright and fresh. The veggies are bright and crispy, the meat has little to no fat and it's super tender, and everything just good. I've never had an issue with the food...ever. I eat in all the time, so I guess I don't know how it holds up over delivery or carry out, but it's always amazing when I eat in. When I eat Chinese food, I always get that sick-to-my-stomach feeling, like I just ate a huge bowl of grease. I don't get that feeling there. Everything is just so fresh and vibrant that I don't feel like I'm committing a dietary crime while eating there. I've had food of the fried variety and of the healthier variety, and I haven't been disappointed. It's too bad I don't live in the area, because I'd be eating here all the time. read more

By that time, it's too late in the evening so yes, we still wanted it. No other apology was offered or compensation provided. Styrofoam clamshell containers, like the kind your taco dinner comes in from a Mexican restaurant. Only Chinese food has a major sauce and liquid component to it that Mexican food does not. This of course meant that all the sauces from our dishes were providing something for the paper bag to drink instead of our steamed rice. 1 PINT of steamed rice for 2 large entrees. Yes, I said PINT, the small Chinese container and not the big one (a quart). Apparently the coupon for a free fried rice with certain level of purchase enables them to not provide you with the correct quantity of steamed rice you should receive with your order. Great food, and the service has improved greatly too. I posted a review back in August. Little Panda had just put out a mass mailer in our area, and frankly they were overwhelmed with the response. They have been great on all of our subsequent visits. I think we probably order 1-2 times a month, and the food is always very good. My wife especially likes the pot sticker sauce, and I am hooked on the Bulgogi... Yum! We usually pick up, since the location is convenient. The staff is friendly and accommodating. When the weather gets warmer again, I plan to visit during a not too busy time to explore some of the other menu options. I'd like to try some of the curry dishes, but since I have some strong likes and dislikes, I plan to ask about ingredients, and see if they will customize a bit if needed. I think this won't be a problem since I had them do Mongolian Beef, and they were happy to hold the mushrooms. Of all the local Asian places, this is our favorite. read more

This is just a review on the bubble (boba) tea. I have not yet tried the food. I was looking for a place close to home and decided to try this place after finding it on yelp. I specifically went for the boba tea so I had high expectations which unfortunately were not met. I got the mango tea and my daughter got the pineapple/coconut. Both were extremely watery and the boba was not cooked well enough so instead of having soft boba, I had hard chunks coming through my straw. Hubby and I have been looking for a new go-to Chinese food place and decided to stop in at this one. It reminded me of Panda Express in terms of the way you order, however, nothing is pre-made and sitting under heat lamps (positive). I ordered the bulgogi meal with an egg roll, fried rice, and crab Rangoon. The portion was deceptively generous (I admit - I complained at first when I unloaded my plastic to-go tray). Bulgogi is not a common dish (at least it seems I don't come across it often) and it's definitely not fair to compare it to something homemade. It was good, but not amazing. I would have it again, though. I thought the fried rice was just ok and the egg roll horrible. If anyone knows of where to get amazing egg rolls, please let me know! I'm still on the hunt! Crab Rangoon was tasty - 4 stars. In terms of service, I thought it was just ok. Having been our first time going there, we didn't really know how to order. The person taking our order was patient, but she didn't go out of her way to explain anything to us. At least there wasn't a line. Hubby would prefer not to go again, but they had such an array of choices that I'd like to try something else and maybe just not get the "meal deal" and order the entrees and a more "specialized" fried rice and sides. read more

Been here numerous times and I have to say I love it. They have a phenomenal Chicken Basil entree that is Fantastic! The portions will make 2 1/2 meals. +1 I have ordered the Cashew Chicken and the Kung Pao and surprisingly I was not impressed. The fried chicken just didn't seem right, maybe a little to much processing (spongy look inside) and bigger then bite size chunks overwhelming and made we wonder if this is real chicken. -1 We order bubble tea every time and I have noticed that they do not measure the tapioca. I used to LOVE this place when it first opened. It looks like they have fallen victim to complacency. The food was crispy and tasty when we first started ordering. Nowadays, the food is soggy and often bland. The menu seems to change the recipes some days and things I order that aren't spicy one time are so spicy the next I can't eat it.
