They try to take as much money from you as possible. I scheduled to bring my 11 month old son for his first cut (advertised as $16 in their site). I told them this when I scheduled the appointment. One day before the appointment, my mom trimmed my sons bangs a bit because they covered his eyes. At the appointment they asked if he ever had his hair cut before. I said no, just my mom trimmed the bangs a bit yesterday but I still need it trimmed more as well has his entire head. In the end, they charged my wife $25!! I immediately asked why isn't it $16 for first cuts as advertised? They said "You said your mom trimmed his bangs. So this isn't his first haircut." I mentioned she just cut it (took less than two minutes) to uncover his eyes, but they didn't care. They said it's still considered his first cut, so my total is still $25. They are just trying any way to weasel more money they can from us. My wife also said they repeatedly tried to upsell additional services at the counter which annoyed her. They also charged us for a higher tip than my wife agreed upon... we only found out afterwards because they refused to give us a receipt. Very shady. Even if they reply back with coupons and such, it won't matter because I am never taking my son there again because of their greedy attitude. They stole over 10 dollars from us for no reason, which I'm pretty sure is legally false advertising. read more

My son has been getting his haircut here for 7 years. I made an appointment for today about a week ago because we want him to look nice for his birthday party tomorrow. Got a call today saying that they would have to cancel. They said their stylist was out sick. I asked if anyone else has availability. I took my 2 year old here for her first haircut today and it was such a great experience! It was everything I could have wanted for this milestone. I made an appointment online and it was super easy. There was a parking lot behind the shop with 90 minutes free parking. The waiting area had an awesome selection of toys. The people were so kind and friendly. My sometimes crabby 2 year old was perfectly content sitting in the bunny chair and getting her hair cut. There wasn't a single tear. This place is truly a gem! The last place we took him to, the stylist made me hold him on my lap and worked quickly to buzz cut his hair. He screamed and cried so much, we had been avoiding taking him again. As soon as we got to Little Kuts, I let them know in advance how sorry I was that my son hated haircuts and would most likely scream. I suggested we just get it over quickly. However Anna was so extremely calm and patient with him. She didn't rush through, instead talking to him gently throughout the process, keeping him distracted with questions and toys. This is my go to spot to take my LO. Ive been coming here for over two years. My son used to be really sensitive and hated having his hair cut. The owner was able to keep him calm and make the haircut fun, and once he had a good experience, he started be much more comfortable with it. now he has no problem getting his hair cut here. My 2 year old HATES haircuts!! We've gone here 3 times and it gets better every time. The first time, he would throw his head, scream and cry hysterically. this last time, he cried for the first couple minutes, then started watching videos on our phone. My 3 year old came for his 2nd haircut since birth. First place I went to was just a man barbershop so he went ballistic and I didn't want a repeat of he process . I figured I try this out because they specialize in kids. Didn't make an appointment because my kid doesn't "do schedules" and try my luck. Well I was in and out within 20 minutes. Happy they had female hair stylist, she was very patient and my son was acting up of course and did not want to sit in the special kiddie seats they had or care that they had Minions movie playing, etc.. So another associate came to tag team him and distract him with toys. Thanks to the shop duo, he was nice and calm through the whole process. And sure, you probably could get cheaper, however in my opinion definitely worth the $21 just to get what we needed and not have him lose his shit in such a short time and not look like a hot mess mommie. my 2 yr old just came back from his hair cut, and boy! i said F***! when i saw his hair cut right in front of my kids. I was THAT shocked. I don't know where to start to express my anger, but i should have listened to other reviewers here. you have seen some of kid's pics with the real bad hair cut, but mine is even worse than those. my kid looks like a homeless kid in the street without any parents. there are 2 reasons i didn't go back to little cut and ask for the fix it. 1. i just gave a birth, and i am not mobile right now for some medical reason. 2. i don't think they can even fix this disaster. i might just shave his hair at a different real salon. sigh...... so, i am complaining like a coward here. his hair cut is uneven in everywhere. both side near his ears chopped up in very different lengths, and some are long and some are very short. some of the hair was not even completely cut, and some part of his hair is half cut and hanging around his ears. the top hair part is also very uneven, and his hair has now have two layers looks like they just put some small cup on top of his head and unevenly shaved it. if the cut is even, i might try to think it is some sort of a 'new trendy style'. my husband didn't get the name of the person who did this misery to my son, but i am pretty sure she didn't get a proper training as a hair stylist. plus, this is my 3rd time i got this unprofessional bad cut, and i am blaming myself to try to trust this place. i am not a fashion kind mom, and i usually ok with any cut with even hair line. is this too much to ask?!! This is in response the the owners comments: she's a liar. I called about a week after our initial appointment that we had to miss. The receptionist, Nina, gave me an appointment for my two sons. Seriously, not even 5 minutes later she called back and said the owner had said for us to take our business elsewhere. Let's be clear: THE OWNER didn't want to do business with me. If I didn't want to go back there why would I even call and schedule an appointment? Abagail is great so of course I would go back to her. I'm really glad that Little Kuts is back but this time at a new location. It's easy to find parking. I booked a haircut appointment for my child by calling the salon phone number. Leave a message and Anna Marie will return your phone call. She only allows one household inside her salon at a time which is nice for my child's first haircut. She's excellent with toddlers and kids. She knows how to detangle hair like a pro. I had her cut my child's hair short because I don't want to deal with hair knots anymore. Brought my 1 year old here for her first haircut EVER. The reason I decided to bring her here was because of the great reviews on yelp. Unfortunately our experience was not as great as the other reviewers. What I liked was that the lady that cut my daughter's hair was very nice, patient and quick. Their pricing of $18 didn't bother me I even gave her a $5 tip. But I can see why reviewers complained about it -I understand that it's probably based on economy of scale, and for the first haircut, why not? They also have a lot of toys, books, cute animals to sit on and a cute little play area in the back corner, so lots of entertainment for the kids. What turned me off to this place was that because she was so quick, at the end of the haircut, it felt like we were being rushed out even though we were the only people there. I told them them it was my daughter's first haircut, hoping to enjoy the moment (I was hinting to them not to rush us out) they slapped together a "child's first haircut" certificate. The cert misspelled my daughter's name, nothing on it was filled out (this makes scrap-booking kinda boring), and they grabbed her cut hair from the floor and stuffed it in a Ziploc baggy. we have been taking my son here since he was 6 months old. yes, he was born with tons of hair and it just grows and grows! he has had 5 cuts total, and just turned one! i was a bit weary when we first brought him here because he was so young. but sure enough, they made us feel really comfortable since they know their stuff! we sat him on my lap and Jennifer, being such a pro and having sons of her own, just whizzed through all my baby's locks. she has a quick hand and knows how to keep my son in good spirits and works with his random movements. cuts with her are always a breeze. i think my son feels at ease because she's relaxed and gives off a good vibe. for my son's first 4 cuts he sat on my lap, but on his 5th cut, he sat in the booth on his own (in a bumbo of course). they have tons of toys to distract him, and kid videos, including Pocoyo, on their screen. there is also a waiting room which is well stocked with toys for keeping your children occupied while they wait for their turn. on our last visit, i noticed that it's hard for parents to leave since the kids just want to stay!! haircuts are always fun and stress-free for us and the staff is quite timely, so we are in and out in no time. call ahead for an appointment, as weekends get very busy. oh and a few nice pluses: - if you check-in on Facebook and post a photo of your child's cut, you get a few dollars discount! - for your child's first cut, bring a camera, and you get a keepsake certificate! great for your baby's album! read more

Stephanie and the other stylists had their own way of grabbing the little one's attention-definitely patient, kind, and entertaining. $18 for a haircut- $9 for bangs... spray bottle, comb in hand and some scissors, it literally only took about 15 minutes. Parking behind the Colinade was easy. The latest appointment they take is 5:30pm. Fun and certainly an exciting experience for the little ones and I'm sure none of the complaints are from them. quick tip: busy on weekends, so make an appointment. and if your kid wants a balloon, they are not routinely given out like at some places... so just ask for one!! review: my daughter got a pretty good cut here. she has thick hair (like her mama) and she is pretty sensitive in the chair (read: never fails to cry dramatically at every haircut), so she's not the easiest little kiddo to deal with; but Anna Marie was very patient with her. The only reason I'm giving Little Kuts 2 stars is because my kids love coming here. And to be honest...that is the only reason why I've come the last couple of times...because I want to make them happy. But this last time that I went was my last time. It's been a while because I've kept forgetting to write this review...but I took my daughter for a simple bangs cut about a month ago or so. First of all, whoever sits at the front counter, is always in a bad mood. I've been to this salon approximately 5 or 6 times...I don't ever remember being greeted with a smile...or not even a smile...just give me a friendly hello...not even that. It's always a different person...but we (my husband and I) receive the same type of greeting. It's almost as if the qualifications for that position are that you have to be cold, unfriendly, bored, and angry to be working there. Anyway, getting back to why I will no longer go to this salon: The stylist starts to cut my daughter's bangs and 5 seconds later says, "ok finished." My daughter has thick hair...I understand that could be a challenge. But I look at her bangs and they are horrifically uneven. I'm not a picky person at all...and I'm not mean. So as nice as I can say it, I say..."oh is there any way you could even it out just a little bit?" I should have said, "Are you kidding me?? I could do better than that." But I didn't. She says ok and proceeds to cut my daughters bangs some more. Still uneven. I must have asked her like 3 times and the end result you can see in the picture. I apologize that it's sideways...couldn't fix. Also, I know it's grainy. But that is how her bangs looked after I asked her about 3 time to please fix it. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and I said, thank you very much. I paid the $11 or $12 that it was and walked out with my daughter looking like I had just cut her bangs...not a professional. AND I left her a tip. I shouldn't have, but I did. This place is very cute, but unfortunately, their costumer service is awful. Oh and one more thing...they have a lot of toys that kids could play with. My daughter loves that. Unfortunately, after we leave I have to douse her with antibacterial because the toys are filthy.
