first time taking my one yr. old son in & it was great ! i was a bit nervous at first since he would have to be sitting down in the chair but anna made him super comfortable & provided lots of toys to distract him from the noises of the machines . she did exactly what i wanted for him & it was spot on ! he did surprisingly good for his first time & she let him take home his very own comb & lollipop . needless to say i'm a happy mommy & my lil one was even happier ! definitely recommend for first timers & i will be booking again ! read more

My son had a meltdown during his haircut. They were very patient with him and myself. They spent the necessary amount of time so I was happy with his haircut. Anna Marie is especially great given her fundamental understanding of young kids. I would recommend this shop to everyone. I also grew going to this place to so it fun to see my son in the same chairs I was growing up. read more

They try to take as much money from you as possible. I scheduled to bring my 11 month old son for his first cut (advertised as $16 in their site). I told them this when I scheduled the appointment. One day before the appointment, my mom trimmed my sons bangs a bit because they covered his eyes. At the appointment they asked if he ever had his hair cut before. I said no, just my mom trimmed the bangs a bit yesterday but I still need it trimmed more as well has his entire head. In the end, they charged my wife $25!! I immediately asked why isn't it $16 for first cuts as advertised? They said "You said your mom trimmed his bangs. So this isn't his first haircut." I mentioned she just cut it (took less than two minutes) to uncover his eyes, but they didn't care. They said it's still considered his first cut, so my total is still $25. They are just trying any way to weasel more money they can from us. My wife also said they repeatedly tried to upsell additional services at the counter which annoyed her. They also charged us for a higher tip than my wife agreed upon... we only found out afterwards because they refused to give us a receipt. Very shady. Even if they reply back with coupons and such, it won't matter because I am never taking my son there again because of their greedy attitude. They stole over 10 dollars from us for no reason, which I'm pretty sure is legally false advertising. read more

My son has been getting his haircut here for 7 years. I made an appointment for today about a week ago because we want him to look nice for his birthday party tomorrow. Got a call today saying that they would have to cancel. They said their stylist was out sick. I asked if anyone else has availability. They said they have availability at 5pm with another stylist but that she is better and we would have to pay more. I said we would have to go somewhere else if you can't accommodate us for the same price. I was told by the receptionist "Fine, your welcome to go somewhere else ". Wow! You just lost a customer forever. read more

Great first haircut! Took our little guy (21 months) to get his first haircut this past Saturday. Super easy to book online and really appreciated the reminder call. Betsy took really good care of our guy even though he was screaming the whole time. She really knows what she's doing. Patient and lightening fast - a must with a screaming, squirming little one. He looks great and we'll definitely be back. read more

I took my 2 year old here for her first haircut today and it was such a great experience! It was everything I could have wanted for this milestone. I made an appointment online and it was super easy. There was a parking lot behind the shop with 90 minutes free parking. The waiting area had an awesome selection of toys. The people were so kind and friendly. My sometimes crabby 2 year old was perfectly content sitting in the bunny chair and getting her hair cut. There wasn't a single tear. In the end, I left with a certificate and we were invited to spend more time in the play area if we wanted (we did). Remember to bring cash or a check. Also baby's first cut is a decent price so remember to tip :) read more

This place is truly a gem! The last place we took him to, the stylist made me hold him on my lap and worked quickly to buzz cut his hair. He screamed and cried so much, we had been avoiding taking him again. As soon as we got to Little Kuts, I let them know in advance how sorry I was that my son hated haircuts and would most likely scream. I suggested we just get it over quickly. However Anna was so extremely calm and patient with him. She didn't rush through, instead talking to him gently throughout the process, keeping him distracted with questions and toys. Aside from the tears in the beginning, my little guy got through it so smoothly. She's truly so patient and amazing. I'm so happy I found this place. We'll be bringing my son for more frequent haircuts from now on. Thank you so much Anna! Note: they did say they would possibly be relocating in four months or so, so check in to make sure you're going to the right address. read more

This is my go to spot to take my LO. Ive been coming here for over two years. My son used to be really sensitive and hated having his hair cut. The owner was able to keep him calm and make the haircut fun, and once he had a good experience, he started be much more comfortable with it. now he has no problem getting his hair cut here. Furthermore they have a fun play room and awesome chairs that are shaped like animals for the kids to sit in. Great place for baby's first haircut. Anna Marie was so patient and quick. I was very nervous since our baby is scared of a lot of things, but Anna Marie made it such a wonderful experience for us all. There were no tears at all. Also, it's great that she cuts the little's hair in a separate quiet room. Overall a great experience and we'll be back again! Thank you Anna Marie!!! read more

Anna Marie gave our two year old a haircut and she was awesome! She definitely will make your child feel comfortable and welcomed. She did an amazing job interacting with my son and making sure he wasn't scared of the razor! 10/10 recommend this place! They also have so many toy options for kids to play with while they're getting their haircuts! She even played a cocomelon playlist for him. Thank you so much again! read more

This is the second time we've brought our toddler to Anna Marie, and we are just as happy as the first time! Not only did she do a great job on the haircut itself, but she was also so great at keeping our son entertained and calm during the process. We'll definitely be back! read more

My 2 year old HATES haircuts!! We've gone here 3 times and it gets better every time. The first time, he would throw his head, scream and cry hysterically. this last time, he cried for the first couple minutes, then started watching videos on our phone. Anna Marie is honestly the best and has so much patience. She shows my son what she will be using and it helps. It also helps taking him every 8ish weeks. Although I'm sure he'll still cry, I know it'll be less and less every time. You don't have to be afraid if your child cries or screams and here. They are seriously the Best! read more

We normally go through the front doors of the building but they were locked on the day of our last appointment. It takes a while to get the kids strapped into the car and drive all the way around to the back. We ended up being late so they turned us away. They didn't seem to care. We tried pleading with them and said we were only 10 minutes late. They said, "Actually, you were 12 minutes late." Really??? Was that answer really necessary?? I understand sticking to a tight schedule but come on! The front doors to your business were locked!! read more

Anna Marie is BACK! We tried giving our kids haircuts during the pandemic - got the clippers and the hair cutting shears, but I quickly developed a newfound appreciation for the skill that kids' haircuts require. Simply put, this is a task I am happy to leave to professional, and Anna Marie is a consummate one. We felt totally Covid-safe during our visit - she is vaccinated and we all wore masks. Even my kid said on the way home that if he needs a haircut in the future, Anna Marie is the only one he trusts. read more

My 3 year old came for his 2nd haircut since birth. First place I went to was just a man barbershop so he went ballistic and I didn't want a repeat of he process . I figured I try this out because they specialize in kids. Didn't make an appointment because my kid doesn't "do schedules" and try my luck. Well I was in and out within 20 minutes. Happy they had female hair stylist, she was very patient and my son was acting up of course and did not want to sit in the special kiddie seats they had or care that they had Minions movie playing, etc.. So another associate came to tag team him and distract him with toys. Thanks to the shop duo, he was nice and calm through the whole process. And sure, you probably could get cheaper, however in my opinion definitely worth the $21 just to get what we needed and not have him lose his shit in such a short time and not look like a hot mess mommie. I will definitely be back! read more

my 2 yr old just came back from his hair cut, and boy! i said F***! when i saw his hair cut right in front of my kids. I was THAT shocked. I don't know where to start to express my anger, but i should have listened to other reviewers here. you have seen some of kid's pics with the real bad hair cut, but mine is even worse than those. my kid looks like a homeless kid in the street without any parents. there are 2 reasons i didn't go back to little cut and ask for the fix it. 1. i just gave a birth, and i am not mobile right now for some medical reason. 2. i don't think they can even fix this disaster. i might just shave his hair at a different real salon. sigh...... so, i am complaining like a coward here. his hair cut is uneven in everywhere. both side near his ears chopped up in very different lengths, and some are long and some are very short. some of the hair was not even completely cut, and some part of his hair is half cut and hanging around his ears. the top hair part is also very uneven, and his hair has now have two layers looks like they just put some small cup on top of his head and unevenly shaved it. if the cut is even, i might try to think it is some sort of a 'new trendy style'. my husband didn't get the name of the person who did this misery to my son, but i am pretty sure she didn't get a proper training as a hair stylist. plus, this is my 3rd time i got this unprofessional bad cut, and i am blaming myself to try to trust this place. i am not a fashion kind mom, and i usually ok with any cut with even hair line. is this too much to ask?!! Ok, i started to sound like a crazy mom. i will stop here. even my husband who is not a fashion ppl at all was shocked with his hair cut. I think this place is for people who can really say something to the stylists right away when something goes wrong, and do some quality control over the cut at the spot. not for the naive parents who just believe they know what they are doing. well, to be honest, i never knew i will feel 'anger' over the kid's hair cut. stupid, right? i even didn't get angry when my cleaner lost my wedding item. what an experience. at any rate, I definitely won't recommend this place to any mom friends. read more

*Avoid this place* They are so rude and the vibe is negative. They really do not appreciate the business or the fact that we have choices and chose them. Felt rushed and unappreciated. In todays economy the fact that anyone is spending 15 bucks for a 2 year olds haircut is a blessing and any business that has good customers should feel blessed, therefore appreciate the patronage. read more

Brought my 1 year old here for her first haircut EVER. The reason I decided to bring her here was because of the great reviews on yelp. Unfortunately our experience was not as great as the other reviewers. What I liked was that the lady that cut my daughter's hair was very nice, patient and quick. Their pricing of $18 didn't bother me I even gave her a $5 tip. But I can see why reviewers complained about it -I understand that it's probably based on economy of scale, and for the first haircut, why not? They also have a lot of toys, books, cute animals to sit on and a cute little play area in the back corner, so lots of entertainment for the kids. What turned me off to this place was that because she was so quick, at the end of the haircut, it felt like we were being rushed out even though we were the only people there. I told them them it was my daughter's first haircut, hoping to enjoy the moment (I was hinting to them not to rush us out) they slapped together a "child's first haircut" certificate. The cert misspelled my daughter's name, nothing on it was filled out (this makes scrap-booking kinda boring), and they grabbed her cut hair from the floor and stuffed it in a Ziploc baggy. Needless to say this was very anticlimactic and I am very disappointed:( read more

Brought my 1 1/2 year old son here for a hair cut. He wiggled, screamed, and cried the entire time and we still came out with an amazing cut!! I didn't get the lady's name who cut his hair but she was AMAZING! I also love the fact that they have a play place that is toddler friendly. He loved playing there before the cut and the toys calmed him down after the cut. Definitely coming back when he needs another haircut! read more

we have been taking my son here since he was 6 months old. yes, he was born with tons of hair and it just grows and grows! he has had 5 cuts total, and just turned one! i was a bit weary when we first brought him here because he was so young. but sure enough, they made us feel really comfortable since they know their stuff! we sat him on my lap and Jennifer, being such a pro and having sons of her own, just whizzed through all my baby's locks. she has a quick hand and knows how to keep my son in good spirits and works with his random movements. cuts with her are always a breeze. i think my son feels at ease because she's relaxed and gives off a good vibe. for my son's first 4 cuts he sat on my lap, but on his 5th cut, he sat in the booth on his own (in a bumbo of course). they have tons of toys to distract him, and kid videos, including Pocoyo, on their screen. there is also a waiting room which is well stocked with toys for keeping your children occupied while they wait for their turn. on our last visit, i noticed that it's hard for parents to leave since the kids just want to stay!! haircuts are always fun and stress-free for us and the staff is quite timely, so we are in and out in no time. call ahead for an appointment, as weekends get very busy. oh and a few nice pluses: - if you check-in on Facebook and post a photo of your child's cut, you get a few dollars discount! - for your child's first cut, bring a camera, and you get a keepsake certificate! great for your baby's album! read more

When you walk in, you're immediately welcomed by the chaos of 6 different cutting stations (kiddies sit on those circus animals you usually find in front of a CVS or Stater Bros) with the splash of every paint color imaginable in your face. A huge wall of headbands and hair clips, bookcase, and back waiting area for more play time... all confined in a nicely put together and organized small amount of space. Stephanie and the other stylists had their own way of grabbing the little one's attention-definitely patient, kind, and entertaining. $18 for a haircut- $9 for bangs... spray bottle, comb in hand and some scissors, it literally only took about 15 minutes. Parking behind the Colinade was easy. The latest appointment they take is 5:30pm. Fun and certainly an exciting experience for the little ones and I'm sure none of the complaints are from them. I'd recommend making an appointment with Stephanie, she did a great job! read more

This is in response the the owners comments: she's a liar. I called about a week after our initial appointment that we had to miss. The receptionist, Nina, gave me an appointment for my two sons. Seriously, not even 5 minutes later she called back and said the owner had said for us to take our business elsewhere. Let's be clear: THE OWNER didn't want to do business with me. If I didn't want to go back there why would I even call and schedule an appointment? Abagail is great so of course I would go back to her. But now the owner is just showing all you Yelpers about their terrible business practices and they are liars. Oh and let me not forget to mention how rude they were also to me on FB when I wrote about this issue. They had the audacity to say I was a "habitual offender" when it was only 1 time that I had to cancel at the last minute after having been a loyal customer for 4 years!!!!! I would suggest for you to go see for yourself but they deleted their comments. My review is still there. Along with others complaining about their terrible customer service. Do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people. read more

quick tip: busy on weekends, so make an appointment. and if your kid wants a balloon, they are not routinely given out like at some places... so just ask for one!! review: my daughter got a pretty good cut here. she has thick hair (like her mama) and she is pretty sensitive in the chair (read: never fails to cry dramatically at every haircut), so she's not the easiest little kiddo to deal with; but Anna Marie was very patient with her. She got her bangs nice and wispy (a very difficult feat with my daughter) and maintained her bob well... i call it the "suri cruise" -- very cute on toddler girls. i loved the little play area and different types of seats available for different age groups. i would definitely return here again when in town. compared to nyc (where kiddie cuts are $30 average), the price here ($18) is awesome!! read more

The only reason I'm giving Little Kuts 2 stars is because my kids love coming here. And to be honest...that is the only reason why I've come the last couple of times...because I want to make them happy. But this last time that I went was my last time. It's been a while because I've kept forgetting to write this review...but I took my daughter for a simple bangs cut about a month ago or so. First of all, whoever sits at the front counter, is always in a bad mood. I've been to this salon approximately 5 or 6 times...I don't ever remember being greeted with a smile...or not even a smile...just give me a friendly hello...not even that. It's always a different person...but we (my husband and I) receive the same type of greeting. It's almost as if the qualifications for that position are that you have to be cold, unfriendly, bored, and angry to be working there. Anyway, getting back to why I will no longer go to this salon: The stylist starts to cut my daughter's bangs and 5 seconds later says, "ok finished." My daughter has thick hair...I understand that could be a challenge. But I look at her bangs and they are horrifically uneven. I'm not a picky person at all...and I'm not mean. So as nice as I can say it, I say..."oh is there any way you could even it out just a little bit?" I should have said, "Are you kidding me?? I could do better than that." But I didn't. She says ok and proceeds to cut my daughters bangs some more. Still uneven. I must have asked her like 3 times and the end result you can see in the picture. I apologize that it's sideways...couldn't fix. Also, I know it's grainy. But that is how her bangs looked after I asked her about 3 time to please fix it. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and I said, thank you very much. I paid the $11 or $12 that it was and walked out with my daughter looking like I had just cut her bangs...not a professional. AND I left her a tip. I shouldn't have, but I did. This place is very cute, but unfortunately, their costumer service is awful. Oh and one more thing...they have a lot of toys that kids could play with. My daughter loves that. Unfortunately, after we leave I have to douse her with antibacterial because the toys are filthy. I don't know how often they clean them, but the last time I went...it looked like the toys had never been cleaned. read more

I don't know what is with all the complaint are with this place? Brought my 2 little rugrats here and the bottom line is, they got the job done without them giving me hell. $30 well spent if you ask me. Actually while I was there, I didn't see any kids cry at all. My only gripe was that after close inspection when I came home, the hair cut was a tad uneven. Probably my fault for not looking closer over there as they did accommodate my wishes for fixing the haircut when I wanted while I was there. I got an appointment an hour after I called. The staff was great to the kids. The atmosphere was perfect to settle down any of Satan's children! People are looking for Super Cuts prices in Old Town Pasadena! I've brought my son here a few times. He's not the easiest kid to handle, but this place has successfully calmed and assured him every time in order to give him a haircut. Granted not every haircut comes out the same (even though technically they're supposed to be the same), but it's a kids haircut, so that's not a big deal. Between the TVs, age-appropriate chairs, play area, etc., kids definitely seem comfortable here. Definitely make an appointment, though, as it does get crowded on weekends. read more

This place is soooo cute! perfect for the kids. I hesitated on the $19 for a kids hair cut. but it was well worth it. I took my 3yr old to get her first hair cut, and they did great. she has curly hair and a strip of streight hair. weird! but they did great on making it even, Then we took our 5 yr old who wanted to keep her long hair just like rapunzel, and they did a great job making her feel confterable on cutting her hair. no major change was noticed, but they got the old hair out. This place is great for the kids. read more

I take my son to see Karen, but a few times he has also gone to Andrea. Both ladies are AWESOME, and will do exactly what you ask for with your child's hair. THey have a great little play area in the back, to occupy the kids while waiting (and sometimes the kids dont want to leave!), and your child gets a balloon after the hair cut (a MAJOR plus for my balloon-obsessed 3yr old). There is also free parking (2 hours) in the back lot. Definitely a great place to take the kids for a hair cut, and not too pricey, either. Note: they also do adult hair cuts! YAY! read more

I can't say enough of how much I appreciate the care that was given to my little boy on his first haircut. At only 7 months old, Anna Marie did a fantastic job keeping him entertained and calm. He actually liked getting his hair cut. I loved how she talked to him and explained what she was doing and how she was going to cut his hair. We both know he didn't understand a word she said but I think it was more for the nervous parent hovering around, taking pictures, and telling her how I wanted his haircut which made me feel comfortable. Getting your babies first hair cut is a big deal to a mom! Your staff is polite and courteous and your prices are are well priced for the care and patience you provide. Have gone back more than a few times to get my sons haircut since it grows like a weed! And all times have been pleasant and the staff being professional and accommodating when they can. I've been late a few times and if it's not busy they will assist you. However, if they are busy and have a full schedule they will have you reschedule to be fair to the parent who has the next appointment, which is a plus especially if that child is a little on the cranky side. As I read the negative comments especially about those who are complaining about being late. I can't help but think that if my son was getting close to his nap time or hungry or tired or something else bothering him, I wouldn't want to wait any longer than I had too because of someone who can't make it to their appointment on time being accommodated and than make a scene in front of my child if they are not, which has happened before. I also would not want the hairdresser who would be cutting my son's hair be in a hurry because they didn't have much time because you were late and you cut into my time. Bottom line, get there on time. Heck get there early. My son has a great time playing with all the great toys there before and after! Great job Little Kuts! read more
