Update: Their parking lot is DANGEROUS!!! Please be warned!!!!! We noticed the gate was opened ajar when we drove in but it didn't register completely when we walked to the salon. My toddler ran to the gate, which looked closed, only to my HORROR exit and run toward the street! He ran straight into the road and cars had to stop. It was the biggest nightmare of my entire life. Thank God the cars stopped. When we got into Little Kuts, I was justifiably shaken up... I told Anna Marie about what happened and that the gate needed to be fixed asap. She shrugged it off and said, "oh sometimes it closes, sometimes it doesn't... Managment knows but I'll let them know again." I then responded, "That NEEDS to be fixed, especially when your business is has little kids here," and she just nodded. And that was that... While I understand she doesn't necessarily have the power to fix the gate, I am disappointed by how nonchalant she was. I got home and sobbed uncontrollably about what could've happened and was so grateful he was ok. With that experience, we will never be going back. Anna Marie is a great hair cutter for our kids, but for her to not have any empathy whatsoever was beyond me. I am not going to a place where the person doesn't seem to care about the safety of their customers. My son is deathly afraid of hair cuts because of the clipper sounds so I've taken on the responsibilities of either cutting his hair myself or letting it grow forever. This time I let it grow from my previous hair cut which I butchered so I decided to go to somewhat professionals. Little Kuts first of all always had a lot of availability. l called at 9 am and made a reservation for 11 am, very easy. This was my third time and I've never had a problem especially this being a Saturday with getting a quick reservation. They had plenty of chairs open. They have a nice play area for kids to wait in full of toys and they barbers, especially the one I had was very friendly and full of patience. My son cried but it wasn't a melt down and it seems he is progressing. Downside is it's a bit expensive for a kid's haircut but I think kind of worth it for seeing as my son doesn't like hair cuts in general. He is 3. It takes a lot to get me to review on Yelp, so here it goes: We've been to Little Kuts before, and had an ok experience. Our 17 month old needed a haircut and they got the job done. What took us by surprise the first time was that we had to wait about 20 minutes despite making an appointment. If you're not familiar with their appointment system, it's insisted upon and they even take down your credit card information. Which brings me to our most recent experience this weekend. We made an appointment, we confirmed said appointment through their automated text, and showed up to Little Kuts on time. When we arrived the woman behind the receptionist's desk told us they were "behind" and we would have to wait. When asked "How behind?" She said two others were ahead of us. Two other appointments?!?!? Why make appointments then? Why send out a confirmation text instead of notifying us about the delay? We wouldn't make a big fuss about it, but it just bothers us so much because they make a big deal about making an appointment in the first place. We didn't stay - the place was packed and without any estimate of when they would be ready for us, it made more sense for us to leave. Don't waste your time making an appointment, it's unlikely they'll honor it. read more

My daughter (who is almost 3) just got her haircut by Abigail. Abigail knew how to cater to her. She was patient, gave my daughter options, and made her feel special and comfortable. She trimmed her bangs (nice natural wispy cut) and was able to cut the rest of her hair just fine. Looks great. She even added on a beautiful braid, pink bow (that my daughter was able to pick out from a nice selection), 2 stickers, and added a nice finishing touch of glitter sparkle (from a spray) to her hair. Anna Marie is currently personally seeing clients; the salon reviewed by some people here had to close because of Covid. I was very nervous for my 21 month old son's first professional haircut. The few times I tried to trim his hair at home there was a lot of screaming and head shaking. Anna Marie was amazing. She answered my phone call promptly with a text and fit me in right away. When we got there, she spoke to my son and I with respect and kindness, answering my questions and agreeing to do a haircut I showed her a picture of. We tried cutting our baby's hair at 5 months and my husband who cut hair for many during his time in the army and during the pandemic gave up after trying to trim our squirmy and crying baby. It's definitely worth it to pay someone else to do it! Anna was able to see him within a week of calling and he got a wonderful haircut in under 10 minutes after several position changes and no meltdowns! Even after a month, his hair still looks great and we'll see Anna again when baby needs another haircut! We found free street parking on Union. Anna Marie started cutting my daughters hair at 2 yrs old and she is about to turn 5 now. Every time we visit she pulls out these tricks that she has up her sleeve to entertain and and position the child into the position she needs. My daughter has always felt comfortable and asks when she can go back to get another hair cut. The first time I brought in an image of a cut I wanted and she nailed it, this last time she just trimmed it and taught me how to do a twist hairdo that is now our favorite new do. I came across Anna Marie's page and read the reviews and sW that other parents were having issues with their little ones getting a hair cut as well. From what I read, I could see that she has patience and that was enough for me to pick up the call and make an appt! There were still tears that were shed but she was able to give him a very nice haircut with just scissors! Then he had so much fun playing with all the toys she had available. The last time I took my son there will definitely be his last. I always ask for the same haircut. Keep it long on top and clean up around the sides. I would say that only 1 out of every 3 times, they get it right. The only reason I continue to take my son there is because there are not very many kids salons in the area. The only other one I can think of is the shaggy monkey but they are always booked. The last time we were there, the woman who cut my sons hair wrapped the cape around him to protect him from falling hair. The way she snapped on the button on the cape was rather than hold it between her fingers, she pushed it against the back of his neck to close it and the edges of the button cut and bruised him. He was sitting on my lap and started crying but I just thought it was because he was tired and didn't want his haircut. (Although he's not one to ever fight it.) Ever since his first haircut, he would just sit with no problems. When she removed the cape I saw the welt on the back and pointed it out to the woman. She said "oh. It must be an allergic reaction the the metal." I knew it was BS but didnt argue because I'm not a very argumentative person. I took him there one more time after this, I asked for the same thing (with a different stylist) and I noticed that she was cutting it way too short. I didn't say anything because what could I do by now? It's already cut. Then she combed it sideways with a lot of water and I thought nothing of it. It wasn't until an hour or so later while my son and I were out did I notice how badly cut his hair was. By now it has dried and not only was it short, it was completely crooked. It was a lopsided bowl haircut and even that wasnt straight. It was longer on one side than the other. His hair cut looked worse than Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. I will never take him here again. I'll just take him to a regular salon where they will probably charge me double but it doesn't matter at this point. Went in today for my little one's 1st haircut and I was pleasantly surprised. They were accommodating and polite. Not over the top special but I like that they give you a 1st cut certificate. Called to make a day of appointment and the gentlemen said to come in around 5:30 and if I can't make it to please call back and cancel. Around 5:15 I called as baby was being a bit fussy so knew it wouldn't be a good day for a haircut. I explained to him the situation and all he said was well now you are on a walk in basis only. 15 minute limit per cut. And they watch that clock closely. If you ask for a fix, you get 30 more seconds. The good is that some children require a quick cut because they're frightened or hyper. The bad is that the haircuts go wrong too often. And I understand stylist can have off days but it occurs more frequently lately. The cut is no longer important to the salon - moving kids in and out every 15 minutes is their top priority. We are not returning. Too many consecutively bad haircuts. read more
