This is an adorable restaurant. I wanted to try one of Stephanie Izard's restaurants, and I am glad I tried this one! I came early on a Saturday without a reservation. The host said it would be a wait. There were several open tables, so we asked about it. The host told us if we were quick, we could get seated because all those tables were reserved for an hour from now. We agreed and were seated. It is a pretty small place, but it is very cozy like a retro dinner. Our server was polite and attentive. They have a blue plate menu for more affordable items. That's what we ended up getting-the bacon kimchi biscuit and the breakfast burger. Wow, both were absolutely amazing! The burger was savory and delicious. The kimchi biscuit had a little kick but not spicy, thank goodness. The biscuit itself was probably the best biscuit I've ever had! It was flaky and reminded me of a bready puff pastry. I think I found my go-to Chicago brunch restaurant! I will make sure to get a reservation next time. They also have a little window for to-go orders. This place is so tasty, and the service is great. Since we last went, I think they've actually expanded the menu and I think things were added that were previously at the original location. I got the okonomiyaki which was tasty, the brussels and loaded fries were good. My wife's reuben was good but perhaps a tad fatty. The food is all really good, super consistent, it's just such a hefty price tag. Everything starts at like $15. And doesn't come with fries. Burger and fries therefore runs you just shy of $30 which is way too much. read more

They weren't able to seat us all together in one table, but I was assured that our tables would be next to each other and they were. Half of the girls sat in an alcove booth, and the other half was at a table with pull out chairs. The restaurant was funky... in a good way. The decor was a not to the 70s. Service was fine. Our waitress was really friendly, and she acknowledged that they were behind on the coffee drinks since they only had one barista. I ordered the Little Goat Latte. I didn't love it nor hate it. Acquired taste if you ask me because of the pungent goat milk and masala spice. Food came out in a timely manner, and it was OK. We ordered the chicken and kimchi dip to share, and it was fantastic. Favorite thing I ate at The Little Goat Diner. I got the okonomiyaki without bacon as my entree, which was not what I expected. The okonomiyaki was fluffy like an American pancake and didn't have the cabbage mix like I'm used to. I'd been to the 'old' Little Goat when it was still in the West Loop, but hadn't yet made it to the new location. It's a lot smaller, which also makes it loud, and that's the one big downside. They do have a good amount of outdoor seating, which helps, though we stat inside this visit. I had the okonomiyaki, which was delicious! The flavors were excellent, it was a good portion, and a decent price (especially for what you get). My friend and I also split a carafe of the strawberry mimosas, which were good (there was a hint of sumac in the juice, which added some nice depth). The service was good-the food came out quick and our server checked on us a few times. My friend and I hung around for a while, and service dropped off after our plates were cleared (which didn't much bother me, as it was clear we were just chatting and finishing up our mimosas). They were able to split our check, which is always super appreciated. It gets busy on the weekend for brunch, though it did clear out around 1:15ish (which also helped the noise level). We pulled up here, without a reservation, 90 minutes before a Sunday afternoon Cubs game. The place was popping, but we somehow snuck in and even nabbed the LOVELY booth with neon lights right up front! Score! The dining room is tight, but super cute, and the staff were all working hard and very friendly! Our waitress offered many GREAT recommendations, which we all mostly used! We ordered many different things - some breakfast-y, some lunch-y, some sweet, some savory! ALL of the above were absolutely fantastic! This was one of those places where everything on the menu just seems to be a little different, a little special. There's an ingredient combination giving it a boost, or a little extra TLC making it EXTRA special and tasty! Visited Little Goat Diner on a Sunday mid-morning without a reservation. The inside is smaller with a couple of tables and booths as well as a counter to sit at. During the summer, they have a ton of tables outside along the street; this at least doubles their seating capacity. The crowd really picked up around 10:30-11; but before that, you would be okay to walk in. For drinks, I got the hot Little Goat Latte. The flavor was buttery from the goats milk, spiced and not overly coffee forward. I really enjoyed the taste and it was unlike any other latte I've had. My group also got a Chai Tea and Umami Mami Latte. Both had great flavor. For food, we started by sharing the Ooey Gooey Cinna-Biscuit. It was so good but sweet so happy I didn't have this all to myself. I ordered the This Little Piggy Sandwich and my group got the Parathas Burrito and Okonomiyaki. All these dishes were ones our server recommended and happy she did. The flavors were so unique and each dish was so different. I absolutely loved my biscuit sandwich. The little goat diner is a must hit restaurant for me everytime I visit Chicago from California. I've been coming back for ~10 years now and I love how each time the menu is slightly different so there's always something new to try. This is my first time coming to this location though since they used to be in the west loop. But happy to report the food and the ambience really did feel the same. My favorite dish is the chickpea salad because the kale with the homemade tzatziki is delicious. It hits everytime! The new items to try this time were the fish tostada and the This little piggy. The fish tostada had a lot of tang and pickled onions, cabbage and jalapeños that had a bit of an Asian twist to it. The marinade on the fish was delicious as well. The little miss piggy was interesting to try but a little too dense for us. Parking is street parking and the bathrooms were great! I love to describe Chef Izard's menus as putting things together you never thought were supposed to go together and then all of a sudden it's a delicious experience in your mouth. My youngest used to love LG when she was young and it was located in the west loop. She hadn't been in many yrs and asked if we could go to the newer one in Southport for nostalgia's sake. There were 4 of us and half the table loved the disco fries. Myself included. The other 2 did not. While the shrimp and grits were a bit unique (on brand with Stephanie Izard's restaurants), I really loved mine. My single only complaint is that I wish it came with more grits. I also had a cocktail. -- The Goat From Ipanema. I enjoyed the coconut and pineapple even though it felt pretty tropical on a freezing cold night. My kid liked her avocado toast, but it was buried under a mountainous salad. She regretted not asking to hold that, but loved the avocado toast I asked him if he liked his omelet and he quickly responded "This is SO good". So yeah, he liked it. We ended the meal by sharing the Cheez-It Sundae and I loved it as much as the first time I had it. The chicken that comes with the french toast is yummy but the ratio is off aka there's really not as much chicken as I would want. The outside sign and interior decor are perfect. Exactly what you'd expect. I sat at the bar instead of the booths but they had a great cozy feel to them. I ordered the Breakfast Burger and it was really good. This was a unique fusion of flavors going on and I was impressed. There was a lot of interesting dishes coming through the window and I'd be interested to try more items on future visits. My only complaint was the coffee wasn't very good. 06/20/25 - Finally made it to one of the Goat Diners. The restaurant moved up north on Southport from their previous location in the Fulton Market area. This is the 1 of 3 restaurants that chef Stefanie Izzard owns in Chicago. Initially, we were not happy with the place but AYIN saved the day! The food was amazing. I would highly recommend it. Our server delayed our service for a while, and we were not happy but Ayin came to our table sad comped our coffee and and asked if there was anything else that could be done for our. Little Goat Diner NEW YEAR's EVE Balldrop countdown celebration for kids! --- I wish they also did this in San Diego. I couldn't find a restaurant that does a NYE Balldrop that allows kids, most places I called are 21+ so we ended up going here. It was a really cool experience for kids but my son was the biggest kid at the party, haha! Although it was a fun party, the place was tiny. The tables were close together. We were the very first to arrive. As soon as we walked in, everything was already set up. They have a special NEW YEAR's EVE menu. We ordered the mushroom melt burger, disco fries, miso braised beef, ginger bread not chocolate, and we also got the midnight magic sundae. I really enjoyed the disco fries, that was so good but I was a little disappointed with the miso braised beef. It was floating in too much soup with very little meat, and it wasn't seasoned well, for $25 I expected it to be better. The rest was delicious tho. The dinner comes with a free cider for the kids to toast and a $12 champagne for adults. It also comes with a free cookie/muffin. Each kid gets a paper crown to decorate and every guests gets to keep a Polaroid photo. The Balloon drop was at 7:30pm. All kids are called to come to the front where the balloons are so everyone gets to catch the balloons as soon they drop it. It was really fun! Our server was also very friendly, nice, and attentive. The atmosphere was great! One thing that I found weird was, I called them on the phone to inquire about their NYE party and the person who picked up my call said, they were already sold out but when I checked at open table I found their event still available. There was a $10 charge per person, so for two I paid $20 plus service fee and the cost was not deducted from the bill and I forgot to asked them either. So that was odd. read more

I've been to the other "Goat" restaurants so My expectations were high but this meal missed the mark. The Reuben was incredibly dry. The patty melt was also so dry and the burger patty was tasteless. In fact, the only taste that came through was from the grilled onions. The chili cheese fries were great and the blueberry lemonade was addictive.
