Popped in here today for a late lunch with a friend and we really enjoyed our experience! The patio is so pleasant and was very breezy today which was lovely. We shared a few items, including the BLT salad which was super delicious. We also really enjoyed the curly fries and the broccolini. Service was solid, attentive but not overbearing. The space is very cute and I'd love to try their cocktail menu sometime in the future (the NA drink I had was fine, nothing notable). The food was really good. The mussels and branzino were delicious. The bartender was kind, and capable and unfairly busy given their coworkers availability/seeming refusal or recognition they could help. The service here is tough. I watched the bartender get absolutely swamped with dining room tickets while the barback lingered around, heavily avoiding any real responsibility or engaging in much hospitality. He panicked when he thought he served two guests THC beers without telling them they had THC, (you cannot mix THC and alcohol for sale in the US. That would never be a thing, there was no THC in the beer keg he just tapped, he just made two guys nervous they were gonna be high soon. The guys had to ask AI if they were cooked.) He found a cozy corner by the red wine to fuck with his phone and make sure he didn't literally just drug two people while the bartender finished making the first turn's worth of drinks. Barback promptly broke a red wine glass on the rack above the dishwasher and did not wash the neighboring glasses. That's fucked up. The man with shoulder length hair that looked like he might be in charge(?) putzed around at the host stand and let some beers die in the service well and eventually tried to figure out where to run some food. Idk if they have table numbers or just guess. At least, when he wasn't chatting with the host and servers at the host stand. Or looking like he was doing really hard math equations in his head at the service well. Or fucking with his hair, literally scratching his scalp and tucking his hair behind his ears or crossing his arms or pulling his pants up a bunch. May have been my proximity to the bar but it struck me that the bartender might have been the only capable service worker in this building. "Wait did you guys get your food" after plates were cleared from a table, "wait is this a sparkling or a red," and "wait did you ask me for the bill" are quotes of the evening. read more

I Recently celebrated a friend's birthday here with a party of six. I would definitely recommend celebrating a special occasion here. The ambience is beautiful. And the staff went out of their way to be attentive and make our celebration special. They refrigerated the cake for us and offered candles. The server was very attentive, and we appreciated that when the rest of the diners left the first floor we were not rushed to leave the restaurant. They were also willing to split the check on two cards plus cash. The food was hit or miss. The calamari with giardinier sauce was fantastic. The consensus about the burgers on the other hand was they were only OK, and we had higher expectations for them. I had the wolf and Company burger and while it was OK, it did not match the cost. Went here for 7pm dinner on a Tuesday night. Made reservations just in case but probably didn't need it. It's a little difficult to find street parking but after driving around a bit, I eventually found one a few blocks down. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building. Space is big and there's seating on the outside balcony. We sat inside. There seemed to be only one waiter for all the patrons so as much as he tried to stop by at each table, there were times we had to wait for him. Someone brings us our drinks and then we waited over 10 min for our waiter to come by to take our food order. The drink I had was called PATIO PLEASER was really. I could easily drink a few of those but at $16 each, I sipped one. For dinner I ordered a COMPANY BURGER and substituted my fries for Mac and cheese. So glad I did because the Mac & Cheese was delicious! The burger was good as well. My friends ordered the CHICKEN FAT MASH - yum. My friends told the waiter I was celebrating my birthday. Came for breakfast options, which aren't many but the quiches were delicious for someone who isn't too fond of quiches (it's more so on the thick, side). Egg sandwich was average but the standout was the orange cardamom latte - highly recommend! Would definitely come back to try the dinner options, which it seems to be more well-known for. We went here for our monthly dinner club pick for March and shared multiple orders of the following items, along with a variety of drinks: -Double Company Burger & Fries -Mozzarella sticks -Buffalo wings -Mac n Cheese -Brussel Sprouts -Broccolini -Noctis Pizza -Caesar salad -Basque cheesecake -Corn tres leches I really enjoyed the pineapple cider I ordered to pair with the meal. My standouts were the mozzarella sticks, wings, and burger. Wish the burger had come with more pickles -- they were SO good! Wasn't wowed by the mac n cheese, likely because I'm not a fan of bacon. Both desserts were nothing to write home about, but loved the sesame flavor addition to the unique take on tres leches. All the food presentation was well done, even for some of the more "bar food" things like wings. Everyone enjoyed the beers and cocktails they ordered. The service was a bit on the slower side likely due to it being a busier Friday night, but as a friend group who was there to yap, didn't matter to us! It looked good online and wanted to take my wife somewhere nice for a date. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were a huge disappointment. My wife returned her drink, and I couldn't even drink her drink and I love alcohol. It tasted like straight liquid smoke. The pizza was basically a pool of grease, and the wings were dry, flavorless, and weren't even tossed in sauce. We took one bite and left the food behind. We ended up paying $72 just to not eat the food. As veterans, I take pride in taking my wife out and I took responsibility for picking the restaurant, so I paid and we moved on. We even ordered food to pick up from another restaurant before leaving because we were still hungry. I will say the waitress was super nice, and I do not blame her at all. Yet another hidden gem in Logan Square! Wolf & Company has some awesome burgers, pizzas, and pastas. Their company burger was sooo good and came with loads of fries. Their cheese pizza was thin and crispy. Their Torchio Fungi pasta was the best pasta I've ever tried and I think the noodles are made in house. Chicken Parm Tenders - this is a must order. They were so delicious. I could honestly eat these as a main lol. 10/10. Our friend ordered the pasta and it looked very good as well but didn't snap a pic or taste it. Additionally other friends ordered steaks which looked solid but wouldn't be my first pick here. But depends on what you have an appetite for. Service was fine. The space is pretty cool. They have a moody dimly lit dining area and extensive bar. Completely surprised by the experience at Wolf. I had no idea it was tucked away on Western. Everything out of the kitchen is sourced fresh and local, there is a butcher and deli, a small market, a second floor patio and bar setting, AND there is a cafe. Industrial chic rustic setting, the most eclectic piece is the "library" of alcohol and spirits if you will, and the rolling ladders to boot. The food was fantastic. I went here for some coffee and was blown away by how big this spot is. There's a deli, grocery store, restaurant, and cafe all in one. When we finally found the coffee shop, I ended up greeting the employee who looked uninterested which was off putting. I was hoping to try the banana dream latte, but unfortunately was told I couldn't get nonfat milk instead of the oat milk. I got the 12 oz iced latte with nonfat milk and sugar free vanilla, which tasted slightly burnt. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his cherry blossom honey latte. The balcony that faces the 606 is really cool and would be a perfect vibe with nicer weather. TL;DR: man, this place is pretty. And that's about it. A friend and I stopped by the upstairs of Wofl & Company, which is right off the 606 trail! It looks pretty impressive from the trail, with a beautiful outdoor patio, and the indoor areas were very pretty as well. That's about it for the pros Simply put, the service just wasn't good. Despite the bar/restaurant area having exactly one table, the bartender wasn't prepared for guests. He had to clean menus to give us some, so we had to wait for menus. After ordering food and even when it arrived we never got napkins. He also wasn't able to answer simple questions about the menu: what kind of bread is this sandwich on? He didn't know. The food wasn't good either. The mortadella sandwich left much to be desired flavor wise, and it didn't match the menu. There was no truffle flavor in the dijionaise and also no pistachio ingredient at all. The cheese was not stracciatella either. It was a more dry/crumbly cheese. On top of that, the bread was REALLY tough to bite through. I ate half the sandwich knowing it was a waste of money and I could've made a better one at home. Also once the sandwiches arrived on half empty plates the bartender said "people don't know the sandwiches come à la carte so do you want to add fries or something?" Lol read more

It's now been a week since my visit to Wolf & Company, and I'm still struggling to find a landing place for my rating. On the one hand, the burger was pretty good. Although I was initially confused by my choices for order--three single, slider-style burgers, two patties on one burger, or one burger with three patties???--we landed on the two-patty system (not unlike the two-party system) and split that burger between the two of us. Tasty, a bit too salty, but a handsome choice for most sensible burger-loving adults. (I've been to this restaurant's sibling outlets--Gretel and Little Bad Wolf--but don't remember those other burgers well enough to compare the three.) On the other hand, the Bucktown Pizza was a bit overloaded; its aim was spicy, but I'm not sure it ever really got there. There were too many toppings on this pie, so it didn't do a great job of bearing its own weight. We took half of it home, and when we did this pizza on the reheat, it didn't hold up very well, which sometimes happens with the thinner pizzas I try the second time around. The cocktails were fine. The fries with that burger were tasty, but they were stumpy fellows, so those bent on eating "full-size" fries might feel the same level of disappointment I did when faced with the large pile of well-seasoned potatoes. The table we got was tucked into the back off the restaurant and killed off the vibe of, you know, eating with other people, since we could only see one table from our vantage at the restaurant as well as the din of traffic flowing south on Western Avenue through the window. I'm honestly shocked that this table was even an option for a group at the restaurant; there was nothing, and no one, to see from our table. I could see myself returning to Wolf & Co. if it was close to home. As a destination, it's not something I could really recommend, but I have a feeling a couple friends who live close will invite me to join them for future meals. Now that I've been, I'll be able to manage expectations just a bit. read more

Review for the cafe / market only: Came by off the 606 with my husband and our pup Saturday AM around 7:30 to grab some coffees. The entrance is very conveniently located on the path and appreciate them being open at 7...sadly it's hard to find cafes open before 8:30/9 these days. They have some outdoor couches and high top bar seating right outside the cafe entrance. We noticed several families with dogs enjoying their Saturday mornings as well. The cafe / market space is fairly small inside, n roughly 6 2 top tables, but welcoming! Lots of resale beverages and snacks in the fridge (cold pressed juices, juice shots, waters etc). They serve Big Shoulders coffee, which is fine... not our favorite. The baristas were very friendly and let my husband sample the two drip options before deciding. Love that their pastries are made in house! I tried the almond croissant ($5) and can definitely say it's in line with some of my favorites in the city! The brownie croissant also looks fantastic and I will be trying that in the future. I ordered their banana dream latte (~$6) with decaf espresso and it was really good!! My wife and I took our dog to enjoy their patio as we came in from the 606 Trail. Depending where you sit the view can be pleasant. Food was good, atmosphere is similar to their other locations. Dim, intimate and modern. I just wish the service was a bit faster. We came in on a weekday dinner time. The patio is on the 2nd floor which connects directly to the trail. We were greeted by a hostess that appeared to be having an off day because she appeared to be irritated when I asked for a table. Our server was kind and I believe tending to majority of the tables on the patio. She appeared to be swamped so hopefully in the future they'll will get more help. Some issue arised when our drinks failed to show despite us finished with the appetizer and halfway into our entrees. They kindly took the drinks off of our bill as an apology. While looking for the restroom, which is located on the first floor past the bar, I did get a chance to check out their cute market. The Store: So cute! There are so many great little trinkets and giftable items for birthdays or christmas. From story books, plant gifts, self-care gifts, and all the cocktail gifts you can think of. There are few grocery items here as well that are a bit more specialty. The Deli Area: Was not up and runnning yet since they recently opened; I cannot wait to come back and try the deli! The Food: We sat at the bar to grab some drinks and food. The burger was delicious! The patties were thin like a smash burger, the cheese was great, and the sauce that came with the fries was so so good. We ended up using the suace on our burger and it's the same suace that comes with the crab cakes. We also got the She Crab soup which I have never seen outside of Savannah, GA - and oh man it was fantastic. The ceasar salad was presented in such a unique way where wach head was grilled and dressed - loved loved it. The Drinks: I am not a dirty martini girl at all - I do not enjoy olives - but their dirty martini inspired cocktail was insanely refreshing and wasn't overpowered by the olive flavor. My husband really enjoyed their take on a black manhattan. The Service: Keegan and Trey were so nice! They had great recommendations for food and drinks. Just about the cafe experience: Arrived around 8-ish am and since it's just opening week, seems like they still are getting 'set up'. Someone was kind enough to point myself and another lost person that the cafe is upstairs. I ordered the banana milk matcha latte and so disappointed. There was no banana flavoring and definitely no matcha. I was so thrilled to be so close to wolf & company but left with a bitter taste. Seems like they're using both Hexe and Big Shoulders beans. Service at the cafe was friendly and fast. This concept is from the folks who do Little Bad Wolf and Gretel and includes a coffee shop / cafe, specialty grocery, and a full bar and restaurant, all with a patio overlooking the 606. Grocery area on the main floor has a Foxtrot feel--small and curated dry goods, alcohol, and even flowers. A few baskets of fresh produce. But you walk around the corner and also have a full butcher counter situation, which is impressive. Sadly, the wifi signal, which works inside, is not usable on the patio. I'm a digital cowork cafe person, and guessing this won't be most folks, but for me, I'd be probably be a regular if I can get some daytime work done from here. Wolf and Company is right off of the 606 trail and features a cafe, bar and restaurant, and a little market downstairs. We got some coffee here and some pastries. On a weekend this place is very popular as it is convientaly located right off the trail. You will find families and young adults here. The coffee is delicious and pastries were savory. We're big fans of Gretel, so we've been looking forward to trying Wolf & Company - it's much closer to home! Walking in from Western Ave we were surprised how big it is, a grocery store and large bar/restaurant at ground level and a bar/restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating upstairs. We had a reservation at 3pm on Friday; there was no check-in on ground level which felt awkward, so we wandered upstairs and found the check-in desk. We asked to be seated outside facing the 606 (as we had requested on the reservation app) and we were taken to a high top/side by side bar table attached to a wall with no view, while only 1of the 6-7 tables facing the 606 were occupied. I asked the hostess if we could sit at one of the real tables with a view of the 606 and she begrudgingly said ok "but if we suddenly get busy with 4 tops, you'll have to move". When I asked her where the bathroom was 30 mins later I got similar vibes, it seemed apparent that the hostess did not enjoy being in the service business.
