Came with a friend for dinner around 6:30 pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. We got a table next to the windows that opened up and it was cool to see the trains passing by as we ate. We ordered the potato skins ($10) and nadene tavern style pizza ($30) to share. The potato skins were more like baby potatoes with a little bit hollowed out and filled with pulled pork, bacon, cheddar, sour cream, green onion, and tomato with a honey mustard dipping sauce. The flavor was really good and the honey mustard complimented it nicely but it only came with 6 small potatoes which wasn't worth the $10 to us. The pizza had cured pepperoni, hot honey, ricotta, basil, mozzarella, and marinara and was fantastic. I would come back just for this pizza. They cut it up into squares which I honestly preferred over the traditional triangles. The crust was the perfect texture and the toppings worked so well together. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!
We were brought to Homeslice after a long day at a local conference! It was the perfect relief and hang out spot! Very large space with different areas to kickback and chill, both indoor and outdoor spaces available. I particularly loved the Airstream conversion and couch area! Perfect for small to large groups! Staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our stay! Classic takes on bar food favorites dominate the menu! Nachos, pizza, Caesar salad wrap, club sandwich, and burgers were all on our shared menu! Everything was pretty tasty and paired well with the creative cocktails and draft beer we ordered! Nothing to blow your socks out of the water, but great options for this social setting!
Overall a solid place with a very cute and fun atmosphere. Service was okay. The pizza was overall good!
Have had Homeslice pizza many times so thought I'd switch it up this time and get a selection of their apps. I headed to the bar to test these offerings. They were great! I started with the Italian Snack which I have to say was very fun and unique. Its base is salt and vinegar chips and topped with Parmesan cheese, cupped pepperoni and hot peppercinis. It was a tasty mix and the truffle dipping sauce was a perfect add. I also sampled the charcuterie board which had a fine selection of salamis, blue cheese, Brie and a mix of dipping options. Perfect for two people. Service and ambiance was exceptional. The bartenders were super attentive and friendly, even on a busy afternoon. The vibe is always fun at Homeslice and they have a great patio for nice weather days.
The pizza here is really good, and I'm a big fan of the home slice/happy camper/paradise park restaurants. We sat outside but it's very close to the L so it can get quite loud every 5 minutes, so indoor might be better for ambiance. Our server was nice but we did have an issue where our bill would not show up on the QR code and once we were able to get their attention it took about 30 minutes for them to bring us an actual bill before we could leave which has never happened to me before and was a bit inconvenient
Having a great Homeslice experience is all about managing expectations. If you're looking for the best pizza/apps/drinks ever, this is not the place you'll find them. The Michelin inspectors do not have Homeslice on their list, and you know something, that's okay. What the slice does do spectacularly well is their vibes. It's very much a laid back, beachy, sunny, summery, tropical, pineapple in almost all drinks sort of deal. Even the mojito was made with a splash of pineapple, because 'why not'? If Spongebob can make his home out of one, then I can have it in a cocktail without complaining. That said, unless you order straight whiskey or draught beer, the drinks are going to run on the sweeter side. In terms of the food, I was able to try the Nadene personal pizza, Burrata, and the Jalapeno homies. Everything across the board was fresh and rock solid. The Nadene pizza had wonderful heat, savoriness, and herbiness as well as a little sweetness from the hot honey (note to self= ask for extra next time). Jalapeno homies were perfect for those who like some heat in their lives, with cream cheese and veggies to take the edge off. The burrata was a great appetizer, but is better for groups, that one doesn't fill up on bread. While a little tomato would have been nice, I come back to this not being a fancy Italian restaurant. Something that really sets Homeslice apart is the service. Everyone from the host stand to the bar servers is very welcoming, friendly, and chill. Food comes out reasonably fast, too. Finally, when it comes to value, at Homeslice it is pretty average: not a steal, but by no means a ripoff, either. Final verdict: There are some places that are better experienced with a group of homies, and Homeslice is one such place. While the food is designed more for groups, the vibe will invite you in all the same, and whisk you away to some tropical place, a welcome escape, especially during a brutal Chicago winter.
This pizza tastes better than Lou Malnati's and Giordano's. Although it's not a deep dish pizza, the flavor and crust was great and honestly as a tourist, I prefer to eat this than any of the basic Chicago pizza chains. The tomato soup was alright, a bit too much Italian seasoning in it. This place has a bar feel and it's a chill place to dine, hang out, and grab a drink with family/friends.
I came here on a Friday at 6pm with my family (3 of us). We made a reservation before arriving, which I recommend because at 6:30 it was very full of families. This place is kid / parent friendly for sure. It's almost all people with kids. They do not have a kids menu or kids cups but it isn't a barrier because they are a pizza place with small pizzas. We got the hummus plate to start which comes with a red pepper hummus, Kalamata olives all over the place. There were cucumber slices, sliced carrots, and pita bread. It was good. But I wish that the hummus was served in a bowl with the dippers around the bowl as opposed to everything on one plate. Then I got the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, as a wrap with tater tots. On the menu they specify that you can do this. When I ordered it the waitress asked me several times if I still wanted the sun dried tomatoes, I said yes and she was appearing confused. It was good, not very CCSW flavored but not because of the sun dried tomato's. I think it didn't have enough Parmesan cheese or dressing but it was good. Just not a traditional one. My partner got the double patty smash burger which the waitress said was her favorite. He liked it, said it was nothing special, the bun looked thick. It also came with tater tots (they were coin like tots). My child got the small pepperoni pizza, they liked it, it's a 4 slides pizza, great size for kids, they have lots of size options. For drinks my child got a pink lemonade, I got the Aperol spritz, and my partner got the passion fruit frozen margarita. It was very sweet. Over great kid-based dinner experience!
Such a fun place to hang out with friends. Service was good even though they were busy. They have really good quality pizzas and they have such a fun environment.
Wow, for a pizza place that opens so late, this might be one of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had! The looks may be deceiving, but the pizza was so thin yet I had enough texture for that slight chew and crunch. The cheese was on point. The smell of the pizza itself was already amazing, it was so delicious! Good service and very convenient. I highly recommend it would come back.
Homeslice is my favorite to visit when visiting the Chicago/Lincoln Park area. They are consistently awesome. I love the vibe, the decor, the food, the cocktails! Homeslice hits a home run every time. Last night we got our order of Whipped feta and the Nadine pizza to-go. They got it correct, even accommodating a special request. We arrived a a little early, so we snagged two seats at the bar and sipped Polar Espresso Martinis (recommend!!) while we waited. Then they offered a free festive shot in a cute little ornament! Spreading holiday cheer! Our food came out in the exact expected time window and when we got home 1/2 hour later, our food still tasted amazing.
I've picked up from Homeslice on multiple occasions and am continually impressed by their breadth of options and high quality flavors on each entree! Alo-Hot Tavern--beautiful blend of spice and sweetness that's balanced by the BBQ sauce. Awesome special. Tavern style good around edges Ahi tuna poke bowl--love the combo of textures and flavors. Fish was a good quality. Generous portion too! Caesar salad wrap--such a fun option to make any salad a wrap! Highly recommend doing it and adding blackened chicken. Caesar dressing was delicious and didn't overtake the wrap. Croutons gave it a nice crunch.
The ambiance was pretty cute, but when I booked the reservation, I was NOT aware that it was right by the train and it would be crazy loud every 5 minutes... so that's the main reason it is not getting 5 stars... Other than that, the service was great and our waiter kept checking up on us. The pizza was really good as well.

I've come here so many times, so I cannot emphasize enough that everyone should come here!! I ONLY come during happy hour. Not that it's unpleasant outside of that time, but why miss out on a great opportunity to get fairly priced drinks and food? The service is always great, the staff are so kind, and both the inside and outside seating are comfortable and welcoming. I love the inside specifically, for the cabin setting is so warm and inviting. I usually get the Seattle Hard Cider and the Hummus Platter for the table. The hummus and vegetables are refreshing, tasty, and well portioned. For $8, it is such a great deal!! Please please PLEASE make the trip. No further comment! (Side note, any pictures featured are either from my most recent trip this past week or from previous occasions!) read more

Nadene pizza and Cali salad were perfect for splitting for 2 but could have easily fed 3! I went home will a FULL pizza box of leftovers! The food was so flavorful and wasn't too heavy/or made me feel unhealthy after (but I'm sure the calories say otherwise...) I digress - would definitely come back here again! Service was great too. Filled water and checked in without being nosey. Train is loud when it passes, but the vibe here is still a good, casual hand! Seems perfect for larger groups too. read more

Yum!!! Such fun options on their menu which was cool to pick from. We got 2 tavern pizzas for 4 people (2 girls and 2 guys) and finished them....most people may have a slice or two to go LOL but honestly no regrets because it was SO fresh and yum. Staff was super kind and attentive. Had plenty of seating options inside but I'm glad we made a reservation because it was packed! read more

Loved the vibes and decor. Pizza was decent, but nothing mind blowing. Only thing that put me off was when the windows are open, the train going by is so noisy and it gets annoying after a little bit. read more
Overall: Satisfied with the fun, unique atmosphere and the delicious pizza. Note that the wait staff here is free to dress however they'd like, so the fashion may be eclectic or include crop tops/pieces that make some uncomfy. - Would I return?: Yes, I love sitting in the heated indoor/outdoor section in back with the turf and fun decor. My Food ---------- * Ordered- "Big Teve" Pizza and free birthday "Cookie Dough Bites" * Flavor & Taste- I love the pizza here because the crust is perfectly toasted and the pizza is thin but doesn't slide off. The Big Teve is my favorite with a mix of roasted vegetables and multiple kinds of cheese. The cookie dough bites were also very tasty and a light desert. * Order again?- Yes! * Portion Size vs. Price- $30 for a large pizza is not that different from other pizza places, and this pizza tastes more fresh. * Menu Variety- Great variety of pizzas, can also build your own The Place -------------- * Atmosphere- Fun, exciting, unique. The indoor section is like a fun and loud bar with booths, sports games on the tv, and neon signs. The section in the back is an indoor, clear heated tent that is made to look like a patio/backyard and has picnic tables, grass decor, and a camper theme. There's also some board games and you can see the train pass by above. * Service- Wait staff is always friendly and helpful. * Crowd Levels- During game days, you may need to make a reservation. Though I've never had issues getting a table in the back section. * Cleanliness- Very clean, well taken care of * Location- On a side street near DePaul University, excellent neighborhood * Parking- Free street parking read more
Four stars instead of five because prices are quite high and there wasn't much parking but the food more than made up for it. The Getting Figgy With It pizza was like a charcuterie board in a pizza - amazing. We loved our mocktail too (ginger and cucumber for $11). The elote dip lacked spice or flavor (didn't taste bad but wasn't special) but everything else we loved. Loved the set up but for us (old) the music was about 30% too loud. Service was great. Seems like they had a lot of vegetarian options. Place was super clean. read more
A great do-it-all spot! A little pricy for the quality, but very kid and pet friendly, and tons of space! We ordered the Webster salad and Special K pizza. The salad is definitely more of a pasta salad, but was really tasty and great texture regardless!! Special K pizza was good, but overall just appreciated the variety of pizzas they have! Service staff is really busy, but no doubt doing their best and so kind!! read more
This is a very fun place to go for dinner or drinks. It's currently decorated for Christmas and is soo cute. It can get a bit loud/ rowdy and it's also right under the L so you can constantly hear it going by. We started with the Happy Hour Charcuterie which was huge and an amazing deal for $10!! We also each got a pizza- classic tavern cheese and Chicken Pesto. They were both just okay, nothing amazing. Service was great and prompt. I probably would go back again for happy hour drinks and snacks, but maybe skip their pizzas. read more

Two years later and I'm still giving Homeslice a 5/5! I truly love this place. The food is consistently good, the menu is extensive, the service is great, the place is cute with its decor, and they have tonssssss of seating outside and inside. The cocktails here are so good too. My favorite items here are their elote dip, Gettin Figgy With It pizza, hummus plate, and jalapeño homies. They have too many pizzas to choose from I love them all! Definitely recommend this place for a fun summer vibe and drinks/food with friends. read more
It's always a good time when we make it here. I'm a big fan of the goat stix. This time I tried an espresso martini and was surprised and delighted to learn that the foam is not dairy, but somehow chickpeas. Don't knock it till you try it. It's pretty good. I also enjoyed the Cali salad. They understand what an entrée salad should be and totally nail it without having to add on anything. Service was excellent. Sat and sort of an indoor outdoor space that was really great. The only downside is it's so so so loud when the train goes by you get used to it and just kind of naturally but it's something to keep in mind. Free, easy street parking! read more

This spot is perfect for large groups, I always recommend others to try this spot with large parties! We got seated right away on a Wednesday evening for our party of 9. There are plenty of TVs if you ever are looking for a view of a game. The server was prompt and attentive, always checking in on us throughout our dinner. Our friends and I all ordered drinks before their happy hour ends at 6pm. I always recommend the whipped feta app and chicken wings. My friends always love the Nadene Pizza. I opted for the chicken pesto sandwich which was really good. I loved that they use focaccia bread! Our bill was not bad at all for a large party. I highly recommend coming to visit especially during nicer weather with their outdoor patio! read more
