Lardon is one of our all-time favorite brunch and lunch spots. We've had takeout from here many times, but I finally made the trip to go in person and the space and service definitely reflect the same quality of their amazing food. My favorite is the Ruben sandwich, and their Italiano sandwich is also amazing- it won a Michelin star in 2025. All around lovely, very charming, and rustic. Lots of natural wood, original brick and tile, and thoughtful touches like vintage water glasses and cross-stitched napkins. It feels like stepping into a prairie inn- so fun. Definitely will be coming back here for a long time! read more

Snagged a sandwich and an insanely yummy iced chai for lunch on a Monday afternoon during the heat wave. (There was construction going on right outside the front door, so beware if there's any mobility concerns!) Inside, it was delightfully cool and the host and cashier were super friendly and provided sandwich recs. I went with the chicken Caesar sandwich--the flame decal is meant to indicate warm sandwiches on the menu, which I found to be slightly misleading as it's normally used for spice! Ordered takeout and had to wait 20 minutes for the sandwich to come out. It was moderately busy inside, but still seemed a little excessive for a sandwich. Didn't blow me away, but the pickle was a fun touch! read more

A friend chose this spot as our June dinner club. We ordered two chef boards for the table and then we ordered some additional meats and cheeses! Everything was tasty just a bit on the pricier side. They hand make (and I believe hand slice the meats) for the boards so it does take a little bit between each board. All in all a good experience! read more

Really nice spot for a glass of wine & small bites! Would be a great date spot. If you're going with a larger group, definitely make a reservation and pre-order your boards ahead of time if possible. The wine is served in non-traditional wine glasses, which was the only thing that threw me off. Everyone in my group loved the charcuterie boards. Lots of options, so you can be adventurous if your heart desires! read more

Cute neighborhood spot for a charcuterie board and a glass of wine . They also have other food items ( eg sandwiches , steak frites ) but we specifically came here for the charcuterie. Enjoyed most of what we had - wished the bread was different ( a less crispy , less buttery bread would have been better ) . Overall solidly good . Service was efficient and friendly . read more

My number one advice is to come here for their hot sandwich!! The wait was long and they stop serving hot sandwiches at 3pm so get here earlier if that's what you're looking for. I was blown away by the tasty sandwich and their housemade chips- so much flavor yet light and satisfying. So glad I got to try them! read more

Went to Lardon while I had an appointment nearby and was impressed. It's a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot with a lively, European café vibe and even in the middle of the workday it was bustling. I grabbed the Italiano to go and it was excellent, easily one of the better Italian sandwiches I've had in the city. Definitely feels like a place you need to visit more than once, next time I want to sit down and try the dinner prix fixe. Great experience overall and worth checking out for a sandwich or sit down meal read more

Our dinner experience at Lardon was very nice! We decided to eat here on a whim and luckily we sat at the only two spots left at the bar. The ambiance was cozy + intimate and our food came out pretty quickly. - Pan Seared Sea Bass: The sauce used to pair with the fish was so flavorful! I liked that it balanced out the more mild flavors of the tender fish The seared skin was my favorite part & I would order this again - Caesar Salad: It was good! I took my time eating this because the cabbage leaves were quite big. The dressing was delicious - Burger: Really juicy!! You can tell just from looking at the photo :) - Sticky Date Cake: This was my second favorite thing from tonight Overall, we liked this little neighborhood spot read more

Another positive experience at Lardon. My wife and I had a lovely dinner last night. We didn't try anything from the "restaurant week" menu, which looked tempting, we ate charcuterie and cheese and it was lovely. I highly recommend Lardon, whether it be for lunch outside on a sunny day or dinner inside on a cold winters night. read more

My fiance and I came here on a weekend for an elevated lunch experience (it's a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant that makes its own cured meats). Make a reservation because there are only a handful of tables. We started with a delicious charcuterie board composed of meats (we both liked the speck the best), cheeses, honey, almonds, grapes, plum jam, ciabatta bread and toast rounds, and some awesome pickled vegetables that I could not stop eating (loved the carrots!). Even though we had both ordered sandwiches as well, we wanted to eat every bite on this tray! As to the sandwiches, he got the seasonal chef's choice of hot honey ham and I got the capicola and burrata with pesto sauce. Both were good but we probably could have split one sandwich after eating the starter of the charcuterie board. Our waitress made helpful suggestions and kept an eye on us. Definitely would recommend for Chicago foodies! read more

Had an awesome lunch at Lardon -- this place absolutely lives up to the hype. The Italiano (Michelin Top 7 sandwiches in North America) is next-level. The combo of soppressata, capicola, 'nduja, and provolone hits perfectly, and the house giardiniera gives it that spicy, tangy kick that just brings everything together. Also tried the Charred Broccolini Melt -- and honestly, this might steal the show for some people. The melted provolone, pickled fresno peppers, and herb aioli on ciabatta create a ridiculously good flavor profile. Smoky, creamy, and just the right amount of bite. And let's not ignore the details -- fresh-cut chips, great bread, and that casual Logan Square vibe that makes you want to hang out longer than planned. If you're a sandwich person, this is a must-stop. read more

Short and simple: This is the reuben to end all reubens. Immaculate patio. Immaculate vibes. Immaculate space. Immaculate reuben. Tangy, salty, juicy. I love a good reuben and this is now the gold standard. A few things set this bad boy apart. First, it is not over stuffed. It fits in your hands and doesnt get too messy. A perfect amount of crunch from the kraut and pickles. Plus, they add wonderful acidity. The rye is amazing. Toasted to perfection while still being fluffy. Oh, and they have amazing pickles. Eat the pickles on the side. The service was great. I dined in solo mid afternoon outside and the service was awesome. Lardon is way more than a few speciality meats. This is home to craftsmanship in the forms of sandwiches and charcuterie read more

I just recently learned of Lardon, which is why i Love Chicago, just when you think you know all the spots , another gem appears , i popped in a month ago and tried their pastrami, and it was delicious with a butter squash soup , but after reading a recent review i learned that they have a Michelin Guide rated sandwich , THE ITALIANO , rated one of the best 7 sandwiches in North America, Chicago has plenty of great sandwich's , so with a bold rating like that, i had to get it , The Italiano is basically a sub sandwich which has ( soppressata, capicola, 'nauja, provolone, shredded iceberg, tomato, onion, house giardinera, on a amorosa roll ) the meat and cheese , visibly cured in house , makes this one a step above any sub ive had, it was so fresh and flavorful, the sandwich comes with homemade chips and homeade pickles , i also got the GRILLED BROCCOLINI SALAD with marinated red peppers, oregano vinaigrette, parmesan, pistachio, and washed it down with a happy hour negroni , simply amazing, the spot is charming and inviting with a old-world vibe, service was prompt and friendly and the place is keot immaculate , outdoor dining is available and they also offer a prix fixx dinner on Wed and Sat , alcohol is available , as well as coffees , to finish up, my meal was so good i didnt want it to end , Ill be Back !!! read more

Wow- what an incredible gem! We noticed Lardons patio months ago and kept intending to swing and finally made it in last weekend. They have a happy hour that extends to Saturday which is about unheard of and everything is SO good. We shared the meatball sandwich (plenty for lunch for us anyway) and every component was perfection- the bread was crusty but fluffy, meatballs were juicy and delicious, the pesto drizzle was killer... just an absolute home run. Service was friendly and quick, vibes were immaculate and the patio looks so cute for warmer weather. Can't wait to be back! read more

Terrible service. TL;DR: completely unfair on which patrons to serve and which not to? Seemed racial, or due to other bias. We arrived at 3:28 on Sunday, and they told us 'the kitchen closes in 2 mins, sorry but we can't serve you'. And as we were leaving, we saw a white couple coming in. I initially thought they were going to be turned away as well, but when we came to the car they still hadn't left, so I decided to go back and see what happened. When I went back, to my surprise, the white couple was seated down and being served? Then after politely asking if we could get a sandwich to go, as I had come from out of town, they quickly said 'I guess the first four that aren't hot sandwiches'. We ordered the Italian. By the time our Italian was done being made, the other white couple had their food being served to them table side, and lo and behold they had a hot sandwich? So, for whatever reason, they initially refused us food even though the kitchen was technically still open when we arrived. Then, gave seats and service to a different group that came after. Lastly, gave a hot sandwich to them, even though they said to us that hot sandwiches can't be made anymore. Nice! read more

I love going here on Monday! The wine is half priced and they have good selections too. The charcuterie and cheese here are outstanding. Been here twice now and highly recommend it! They have hot and cold sandwiches as well as charcuterie options. Lardon is built inside a 110 year old building in Logan square, equipped with an actual charcuterie cave where the meats are cured and the cheese is aged (one thing about me is i LOVE a historic space). The sandwiches are mainly offered in the afternoon during their 'salumeria' hours but you can also come by in the morning for espresso and pastries or at night to dine in their bistro. I will be back. Reuben: 9/10; pastrami, midnight moon gouda, fancy sauce, house kraut, pickles, griddled marble rye. This sandwich reignited my love for reuben's (it's a phase thing) The Frenchie: 8/10; house-cured ham, country pork pate, brie, dijon mustard, cornichon mayo, rustic baguette. The Palmer: 7/10; two year aged cheddar, egg, sun-dried tomato, garlic aioli, red onion, lemon drop hot sauce, brioche. Chicago is a bfast sandwich mecca and this one just felt like it was missing something. Egg was cooked beautifully though read more

Very disappointed, not greeted , no acknowledgment, no hello, I just wanted a cup of coffee 9:18 am on 4/20 , the employee was having a conversation about a pet turtle and a turtles video game. My partner and I came here for a casual date night bc we're both suckers for a good charcuterie & cheese board with our vino. Their charcuterie & salumi selection is amazing--although I was super bummed that they were out of their Truffled Lonza ("white truffle, sea salt, bay leaf" just sounds amazing!). We ordered 7 from the charcuterie list and 3 from the cheese list and we. ate. EVERYTHING. #NoRegrets Gotta say, my favorite was the Fromage des Tete (which is not cheese), and the Bresaola which had a lovely rosemary & bayleaf combo flavor. The Rogue Smokey Blue was my favorite cheese. It was a nice savory blue that packs a lot of smoke. Usually I like my fruity/floral blues but this was nothing like I've had before, and it paired nicely with their smoked onion jam! After we ate everything on the massive board of yums, we (I saw we, but it was 'I') ordered the Trotter Cake which was a beautiful braised pork trotter and shank cake fried and served with green garlic aioli & pickled cauliflower. The trotter cake could've used a touch more salt (although buds could've just been exhausted from all the charcuterie) but the garlic aioli saved the day. Don't snooze on their pickled cauliflower either, it's really refreshing! My dirty martini was definitely dirty and it was excellent. My partner described it as "like drinking right out of an olive jar" but he doesn't understand martinis or dirty martinis. His Negroni (on draft) was very well balanced and lovely as well. Lastly, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped us narrow down our charcuterie selection. We'll definitely be back for more! read more

This was my first time trying a Charcuterie Board. We arrived without a reservation and was able get seated right away, despite them being somewhat full. It'll we had asked if we could sit outside in their patio, but our request was denied because of there being rain in the forecast. It's understandable. No big deal. Then 15 minutes later another couple gets seated outside... Overall I would say the service was inconsistent. Our server wasn't very welcoming. He was nice but didn't explain anything at the beginning. He took our initial order which was a Rueben sandwich, and once that was ready and put in our table he never asked if we needed anything else. Which we did. We also had to ask for napkins and silverware. I other servers were more welcoming, had smiles and did a lot better job at explaining how everything works. The Rueben sandwich came with pastrami, midnight moon Gouda, house kraut, deli pickles, a dandy sauce all in between a "marbled" rye. Didn't really look like a marbled rye. It was good though. One of the best Rueben's I've had in a while. I also ordered my own custom charcuterie board. With three different meats and cheeses. Despite my servers inconsistencies, I do applaud him for explaining our board and offering suggestions on what to pair with what. He seemed excited when explaining and said one of his favorites was Truffled Lardo with the honey. He was absolutely right. That pairing was perfect. We also ordered their Soppressata Originale, a soft, semi soft, and firm cheese. Overall, a pretty decent meal. I did enjoy myself here, and will definitely be back. read more

I went for a tasting at the restaurant. So you probably won't see these items on the menu. However, they were REALLY good. Their chef is really knowledgeable and friendly. He is happy to share his favorite places to buy ingredients. I didn't love the rabbit, but I think that's because rabbit might not be for me and no fault of the chef. Finally got a chance to try this place. We got the steak frites and then a charcuterie board made up of 4 meats and 4 cheeses. The steak was good. The meats and cheeses were also good. They came with an array of accompaniments. Drinks were good. Our server was very kind and even chatted with us a bit. The ambiance was casual, with a few tables of friends and others having date nights. Overall, I would give it a 6/7 out of 10. I adore charcuterie boards, they are like a food group for me, with brunch being at the top of the food pyramid. I am always making them at home, so imagine my surprise to discover a restaurant that specializes in charcuterie boards. Score! My BFF No.2 and I went here before heading to the Regal Theater for a movie. My BFF No.2 cannot stop talking about this place and I thought they did an excellent job on the presentation. The space itself is space and they do take reservations, so I would strongly recommend getting one. Because it it was our first time here, we decided to go with the chef's board and that was not a bad choice. The meat and cheese was fresh and the blending of the flavors was spot on. There is also a separate menu for meats and cheeses that allows you to build your own board. Based on the initial selections we got, we ended up getting additional meats and cheese. My favorites were the Fromage des Tete, Pork Terrina, and the Sofia, Capriole Farms Goat cheese. Absolutely lovely. What I would say is that the prices can add up if you go crazy, but for me that is not an issue. I want what I want and will pay for it. Another win for me was that the had a nice prosecco by the bottle at a decent price. There was dessert but we didn't have time to do it as we were trying to get to the movie on time. The staff was lovely and fully versed on the meats and cheeses. And it was nice to see the meat hanging in the window. The fact that they cure their own meat is huge for me, so amazing and you can taste the difference. This should have been a five star adventure, but I knocked a star off as we went in August 2022 and it was hot as heck in the restaurant, which we thought would be cooler than sitting outside since it was really hot. If there was an air conditioner, I couldn't really tell. I have no problem with meat sweats, but I don't want any help beyond me eating the meat itself. That said, we will be back here for the boards. There is plenty of street parking, or at least it was the Saturday we went, so that is a plus as well. So if you want to get your charcuterie, get thee to Lardon my friends. read more

The service here is terrible! Our server was acting like we were inconveniencing them by dining for lunch. When we finally got our food, the bread was stale and I think it was day old at least. I pointed this out to the server and all he could do was shrug and say "yea, we only get bread every couple of days". For a sandwich shop, I think the bread would be a top priority. I won't be back, there are many far better lunch spots in the neighborhood. read more

Lardon, the decor could use an upgrade, I get the rustic. The water was served warm, Michigan straight, pricing for refreshments are well over priced. The Italiano is excellent, the Frenchie needs work and the Hotel California is very good, potato chips are homemade and very good. The service is friendly, but they could use a different form of organization for waiting patrons. The Rueben looked really good, however, we did not have it. I expected more from a 'Michelin rated' sandwich environment. Take it to go, save on drinks, service charge and tip. Nice people! read more

Our favorite sandwich place in Logan Square! All of the cured meats are fantastic. For lunch they offer salads and a few carefully crafted, delicious sandwiches. Our faves: the Hotel California (smoked turkey, pepper bacon) and the Italiano (sopressata, salami). Don't forget to take a peek at their specials - we have missed out on trying the pizza sandwich! In the evening they offer their popular charcuterie boards (rotating selection) and a plethora of wine and spirits. This is a great spot for a grab and go lunch or if you want to slow things down a bit and have a fun date night or gathering with friends - who doesn't love a good cheese and meat board with some paired wine. If you're in the mood for wine and charcuterie, you need to check out Lardon! They also have nice outdoor seating, which is great for summer. The Chef's Board was great - it came with 3 meats, 3 cheeses, some bread and accoutrements. This board was super delicious and fun, and I loved how it was arranged beautifully!! The accoutrements were a nice touch and really tasty - I especially loved the blueberry jam and the pickled vegetables. We also got an additional side of bread and we were surprised with house made focaccia! This tasted super fresh and delicious. I also had a glass of wine and it paired great with the charcuterie.
