rows of bottles of wine on shelves

This place has a huge selection of wine as well as a bar for an instant glass! The bottles were organized very well by where they were made and ranged drastically in prices, so this place will fit just about any budget! They also offered pick up options and wine tasting. There were also snacks to pair your wine with to buy including olives and gluten-free crackers. I stopped by around 3pm and it was empty, but based off the stacks of to-go orders they had, it looks popular! Customers are also able to book them for events such as holiday parties and private dinners.

This is the third location in the states and the first one here. There's one in San Fran and the original in New York. This is mostly a wine market, bar and restaurant. They carry wines from around the world and some spirits also. For the restaurant their are only two meal kits; one, duck for $45 and two, veggie for $40.

Loved the pancakes, Grandmas biscuits and burger! Everything high quality, tasted amazing and well presented. The drinks and wine were also on point.

My bestie and I came here just on a whim, this is a cool establishment, complimentary tasting on Sunday. We had champagne and Chianti.

An unforgettable cooking class--pure joy from start to finish!…read more I cannot rave enough about this cooking class. Four friends and I signed up on a whim, and it turned into one of the most memorable evenings we've had together in ages. The highlight was learning how to make fresh fettuccine from scratch--yes, from scratch--and somehow the instructor Jason made the whole process feel both totally doable and ridiculously fun. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and buzzing with good energy. Jason was patient, hilarious, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through every step without ever making it feel intimidating. Before long, we were kneading dough, rolling it out like pros, and cheering each other on as our pasta strands got longer and more impressive. And the best part? Sitting down together at the end to enjoy the meal we created. The pasta was unbelievably fresh--silky, tender, and honestly better than many restaurant dishes I've had. Unfortunately, we ate so fast. We forgot to take a picture! Sharing that meal with friends made it even more special. After we ate, we were entertained by the fabulous Yuiza Beach! A local entertainer from Rogers Park. She was funny and charismatic, and kept us in stitches the whole time! Her performance was as fabulous as she was If you're looking for a unique, hands-on experience that blends learning, laughter, and seriously delicious food, this class is a must. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommended!

Of course I got distracted and browsed the store. There was souvenirs in this store as well, which I was not expecting. I wound up picking up winter gloves because I forgot mine at home. I then discovered a clearance cart that had a variety of boozes in there. I was super excited to find Malort! I found a unique cocktail recipe years ago that had Malort in it but was never able to find it in FL. Little did I know, it is very well known in Chicago! Obviously I purchased a little 6 pack. I browsed the aisles somewhat but did not find anything that caught my eye. I also did not want to purchase a bunch of bottles to walk with a couple of blocks. As I was waiting for the person in front of me to finish, the employee asked the customer to please step ahead so I could put my items down. He was already done and taking his time doing something else so I felt that was thoughtful of him to do for me. They were very polite and quick. The process seemed reasonable for the most part but the souvenirs were overpriced. The store was clean and tidy as well.

I thought it was just me reading her wrong when my husband said why should we buy something here when they're so rude. I agreed and walked right out.

My sister Nancy set this up, and it so happens that she is also a sake authority (author of the book "Exploring the World of Japanese Craft Sake"), so it was perfect all around. The ambiance is bright, cheerful and friendly, with a long table where customers can sit down and enjoy a beverage and snack that they purchase. The owners happened to be out of town, but the owner's brother Eric was so helpful and friendly. They have an exceptional selection of whiskey, sake, shochu, gin, beer, canned cocktails and soft drinks. We tried the Wakaze France sake, which was so delightful and refreshing. They also have a great selection of Japanese snacks--- we had rice crackers and dried squid. I also got a Botan Rice Candy--- these are all so nostalgic and take me back to my childhood! The Botan Rice Candy has an edible inner wrapper that melts in your mouth. I somehow remember it being called Tomoe Ame. (True! "Another brand of the same candy is Tomoe Ame"). They also have a Sake of the Month Club, where you can unlock a wider selection of sake online. There's also a Wine of the Month Club. Highly recommended! Will be sure to visit again the next time I visit Chicago.

I LOVE, love this place!…read more As a whole, the space is a quick one stop for all the possible sake, speciality wines, and Asian spirits you can find. You just grab what you'd like from the fridges and pay up at the register. They even sell snacks. If you choose to hang out and stay, there's a corkage fee to enjoy the drink you just bought and you can hang out to play games with your friends. The whole space is built very long and so chill. Tip: They have these amazing sake and Japanese Whiskey flight tastings that are so worth trying. The owner of the place is so knowledgeable when it comes to all the different things listed in the flight tasting. I was able to learn a lot about what I was drinking and enjoy a nice afternoon here! You can just see the passion and love with all the knowledge on Asian spirits. Highly recommend stopping in for a tasting one day. My husband and I love this space so much that we usually try and make a stop here when our friends from out of town come visit!
