Truly enjoy their new space, the bottle shop, always have had solid draft beers, the mostly delicious food in the kitchen (especially the burger!), the service is generally above average, the outdoor space is excellent, they have a cafe with solid breakfast options and the bathrooms are stocked and clean! I strongly recommend going there and enjoying it for all that it is! Why not a 5-star review?! Well... The one star ding is due to not being presented with the total bill with details at checkout, just being presented with the Toast handheld with the gratuity page displaying, so you really do not know what 18%, 20%, 22% etc., is based on or if you want to do something custom. Turns out it's based on the total bill, including tax. Which, I'm sorry, I do not tip on tax, just as I would not be tipping on any fees added to any bill from any business. I firmly believe that tips should be based on total bill BEFORE taxes and fees. I understand that there are those who are on the opposite side of the coin. That's fine, you do you, I do me. Go and have a great time; but, be aware!

I asked the old white man with gray hair and beard why the final total was so high and he said that it was because Chicago sales tax is 12.5%!!! WHAT??? That was a bold face lie!!! Of course, mostly they keep it at - what you like is perfect for what you like. And they help you find something to appeal to that. They have a larger natural wine section with a lot of clarity on the different versions of 'natural' called out. Street parking, if you walk 20 yards on Elston, there is non-Private Equity Parking, and a Divvy stand nearby.

While we love wine, we'd never had this wine before and knew very little about the varietal. We were told the wine was hard to find and Perman was our best bet, so we gave it a shot. We were the only people in the store and Craig was very nice and informative. The shop did indeed have the wine and Craig told us the cost on it was great, so we took his word on it and bought 3 bottles. Later that day, we were walking past a Binny's and popped in to find a locally made liquor. While there, we happened to walk down the wine aisles and found the wine we'd had just bought for $10 dollars/bottle less! We literally could have bought 4 bottles for the same price as the 3 bottles we bought at Perman. In our area, wine prices really don't vary considerably, so we didn't even think to "shop around". A dollar or two, sure, but felt this was pretty considerable. Of note, on searching their website, Perman apparently does not do returns and does no price adjustments. Shame on us for not doing more research, but i guess we'll know for next time.
