Had a good time sitting outside for dinner and drinks on Friday night. Had the Manhattan which was a very generous pour. The sangria was strong and not sweet at all. Everything on the charcuterie board was delicious. There are a ton of options with various cheeses and meats. The scallops with pasta was good overall. They were both fresh and well made,, but the sauce could have used more flavor. I would come back on a nice day where I could sit outside. read more

Had dinner at Lush last week and it was absolutely delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and fresh. I also had the steak, which was tender and full of flavor. My partner had the lamb burger and said it was excellent. The cocktails were a highlight as well. They even customized one for me and made it fresh without an ingredient I am allergic to, which I really appreciated. Great food, great drinks, and thoughtful service. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Big selection of wine and rare bottles of spirits inside. I had no idea we had a gem like this in the area. They even have some good bottles of Japanese whiskey. Can't comment on the food but the sandwiches did look appetizing. According to their menu it's 1 dollar oysters Monday to Thursday all day until they run out. So I'm definitely going over during those days. The staff were kind and accommodating to my dog on the patio. Select glasses of wine can start around 10 dollars. There are some happy hour deals centered around drinks from glasses, wine flights, and sangria pitchers. As well as a taco Tuesday special. Paid street parking, on the first floor so handicap accessible, excited to come back during dollar oysters. read more

I went to Lush on December 18, 2024, to get my wife a bottle of wine as a Christmas present. As I walked in, the only person working at the time, Eric, was on his way out the door with someone else, I don't know why and I don't care. This was around 2:30 p.m. on a Wednesday, so it was nowhere near the place's 10 p.m. closing time. Also, it was obviously a week before Christmas, so it was a pretty strange move to leave the place completely unattended. Eric said to me, "Can I help you?!" sounding supremely annoyed at me for coming in the store. He actually sounded like Snagglepuss from the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons. From his tone, it really seemed like he viewed me as some sort of lower-class vagrant coming in his store when he needed to leave. I was wearing an L.L. Bean jacket, a polo shirt, new jeans from Dearborn Denim and clean, white Vans slip-ons, I was clean shaven and I'd just gotten a haircut that month at Sine Qua Non Salon in Lakeview, so I did not look like a homeless person. But yes please excuse me Eric for not wearing my ascot and smoking jacket to your store, which you were so intent on leaving in the middle of the day during the holidays. I browsed the store and after a while Eric returned, his business out on the street having apparently concluded. Against my better judgment, I opted to buy a bottle of wine not of my own selection but something they were displaying at point of sale, a Gassmann Pinot Gris Brandhurst 2010. As I was paying, I asked Eric if he could gift wrap the bottle, which is something they'd definitely done for me before at Lush. Eric just gruffly said, "No." No apology, no offer of a gift bag, nothing. Just no, I'm going to charge your card $36 and now get out of here and don't ever come in here and bother me again. The bottle of wine was disgusting. After opening it and tasting it, we just threw it out. I used to spend about $100 per visit at this place pretty frequently. I haven't been back since. I guess I'll never see Eric aka Snagglepuss again. read more

I've been to Lush a couple of different times for wine with friends and we always have a good time. They have a bar on one half of the space where the store is and then a restaurant set up on the other side of the space. The staff is always very kind. read more

What better way to enjoy the first real day of spring than with a lovely glass of wine and delicious savory snack at Lush in Roscoe Village? Lush has always been known for its great wine selection, approachable and affordable options for beginners and connoisseurs alike. Prices per glass are quite reasonable, especially considering the unique options you're unlikely to find anywhere else in the city. I was perhaps even more impressed with the togarashi hummus, an excellent blend of balanced spices that were folded into perhaps the best hummus I've had in Chicago. When their patio is open (which it unfortunately was not today), you've got great sunlight and a very relaxed atmosphere. Inside, it's just okay, a somewhat cramped bar on one side (along with the shop) or a somewhat sparse dining room. Prices are certainly on the higher side (hummus + bread was nearly $20), and I agree with many reviewers that depending on who is working behind the bar service can be painfully slow and occasionally not the friendliest. But, if you're lucky enough to have Jeanne, you'll be in great hands - super friendly in knowledgeable, able to steer you towards a great experience. read more

Very cute and intimate. Nice selection of vino and very nice cocktails. Smart, attentive staff also. Definitely coming back soon.

Lush is wonderful! They have a great selection of wines, liquors, and beer to take out. Additionally, they are great for dine in service. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I'm not a huge wine person, but always grab one of their cocktails. Everyone I've tried has always been delicious! Their food is absolutely delicious as well. Everything I've tried has been great. Service is also very friendly as well. I think Lush is an outstanding spot in Roscoe Village! read more

Lush Wine & Spirits - a bar with a chandelier - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Gave this place a second chance after a sub-par experience last summer. Drinks are decent. Pass on the food. The waiter started out telling us they had a very limited menu due to a poor delivery. $16 French onion soup where Lipton tastes better is an insult. $19 mediocre burger and $29 lamb burger which don't come with undercooked fries for an extra $9 per serving. read more

I have been to Lush multiple times and always have a great experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the ambiance is very warm, and (most importantly) the wine selection is fabulous. When it's nice out, the outdoor patio is super lovely. I've sampled appetizers here before which were good, but last night was the first time I had a full dinner here, and it did not disappoint. My friend and I shared the baked goat cheese appetizer, which was huge and fabulous. I had the steak au poivre for my entree, which was freaking fantastic. The peppercorn sauce was out of this world. My only regret is that I didn't get the parmesan mashed potatoes to try as well. I also purchased a bottle of wine to take home. The value was amazing considering the quality and quantity of what I had. Love me some Lush anytime!! read more

We visited the first time during COVID-19 (June 2020). Limited menu, but was able to find an open table outside. The spicy duck fat popcorn was super tasty! We also really enjoyed the wine and fact that you can score a deal if you buy some wine to go. Ask them about it. :) Also, we chatted a bit with the owner who is a lovely man. They're offering some grocery items to supplement not being back to 100% yet. Everyone was really sweet. Free parking on the street out front, too. We'll be back! read more

The dude with the stubbly beard today is a total dick. Walked in with my wife to ask if seating out front was first come first serve or if you needed to check in. Immediate rude responses that didnt get better when we ordered. Made my wife uncomfortable. And here I am writing a review. Will never be back. That dude is a rude ass punk read more

Great service and wonderful employees! They have a vast knowledge of all the wines and have great recommendations.

I can not believe it took us two years to come here. My husband and I live a mile or two away and I drive by this storefront pretty regularly. We finally went last night and I loved it! On one side you have the store that sells wine, beer, some spirits. But you also have the room next door that has bar seating and tables that could probably seat about 40ish people. They have a small menu but what I LOVED was that you can go and pick out a bottle of wine in the store and drink it in the dining room. No corkage fee! We asked for a wine recommendation and ended up choosing a Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. It was delicious. I wish I knew they served food before we got there, we ate dinner at home earlier in the evening. But as we were sitting there all of the aromas from the cook were wafting over and it all smelled amazing. It was a Friday night at around 9/10 and it wasn't packed. I will definitely be back! read more

Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways... $10 bottle wine sections... Free wine tasting on Sundays (2p - 5p)... Wine glass chandelier... Knowledgeable staff... Fish net carrier... The huge LUSH sign with blinking lights in the window always call out my name when I pass by. They also sell wine related trinkets and other gift-able items. Two thumbs up on the chocolates they carry. Street parking isn't too difficult. read more

Slow service and pretty high prices. Food was meh and cheese board was very small and sad. Vibes were good but I don't think I'll be coming back here read more

This is a really cool spot. I've been here a couple times now. The first time was precovid. The owner was SO helpful and knowledgeable about all the different types of wines they have. You tell him what you like and he'll give you many great options along with a ton of info about them. You can pick a bottle and take the rest home if you don't finish the bottle, which is super convenient! The owner was also just as helpful the 2nd time. But there was a dude who worked there who was def not as friendly and helpful as the owner that 2nd time we were there. Nevertheless, I'd def go back to support this cute wine bar. read more

I had been looking forward to going here for a long time. Unfortunately the service was not up to par. We asked basic questions about some of the flavor profiles of the red wine. Our server couldn't answer other than to tell me the wine was fresh. I'm not a wine snob. But some basic tasting notes like dry, fruity, etc should not be out of the norm for a waiter at a wine bar. Anyway my husband's wine stunk. Our waiter told us it was "our fault" and we "needed to unlearning what we know about wine." He didn't offer anything else or a way to make it right, whether we paid or not. That's BS and annoying to try to make it our fault for being 'too ignorant' to pick out a wine. If your server can't give a description other than "fresh" and your menu gives no guidance you've gotta work with your clients better than that. So disappointed. Will not be back. read more

I live about a mile away from Roscoe village and have been wanting to go to Lush for awhile for recommendations from some girlfriend. This is definitely a place I will return to with other friends as my first experience was great! A huge selection of wine from various areas of the world and the menu although not very big has a lot of variety and is well prepared, not to mention delicious. Lush Wine & Spirits - a bar with wine barrels - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

It used to be a very nice wine place with honest pricing. Now that the prices have gone up (especially the food... $30+tax+tip for 5 micro-pieces of cheese!!! and $15 of corkage fee per bottle !!!) it's not really so worth it. On top of that, the food quality is going down seriously (one of the cheese was totally dried up, on top of being microscopic, the octopus was gummy, the crackers served with cheese are bland and dry/old - no, for $30, you won't even get fresh bread!). On the plus side, the staff is great, and there's always ssomeone ready to talk wines. So now, it's good for wine (with standard pricing - no more a good deal), but the food eperience was awful. The reason why it gets one star, because that, combined with price increase, is simply inacceptable. read more

Came here on a Wednesday night at 8pm. I acknowledge that Wednesday nights are usually slow, but tonight it was busy and there were two staff members. We waited 30 minutes for an order of fries. I tried to order a dessert and they didn't have the ingredients to make it. The food we did have was really good and I would recommend/come back, this review is regarding the unfortunate staff shortage. read more

Beautiful place, amazing service, but $10 fee service with wine bottle is outrageous. Won't go back read more

A cute shop with a very interesting collection of wines and spirits. Pleasant staff. You can get a table and have your wine there. Why only three stars? The new, undisclosed credit card processing fee. At a retail business, especially one where people are dropping lots and lots of money at once, this feels like straight up theft. If I had been told about the fee, I would have paid cash. Didn't see it until I got my receipt. If you can't make your margins, raise your prices, folks. Don't pick my pocket on my way out the door. read more

I love this place. They have an amazing selection. I would LOVE to come sit on the porch and enjoy a glass of wine- however... The OBNOXIOUS SIGN HAS TO GO! Seriously, come on guys!! Who wants to hang out and relax underneath porno neon?? I've tried twice and each time I just had to abandon my plan to sit, buy and drink and visit with friends due to flashing horrible lights!! BEWARE they are now charging at $10 corking fee on every bottle of wine you buy from them when you dine in. I asked when this started and the manger said it's an extra charge because of Covid. He tried to justify it by saying they sell all their wine at retail. This is not true. We paid $18 for a bottle you can buy for $10 online. The menu and food quality has also changed. read more

From one lush to another: Lush is the spot to indulge all your lushing, from beer to wine to spirits. And, with their free Sunday tastings, you can get ever-so-slightly lushed on the premises. I expected to find such a well-curated, intimate collection of craft beer (I did my research) but I wasn't expecting the shop to be so sleek and beautiful - gawd, you're gorg. And with staffers who know more than just enough to be dangerous, I was quickly smitten. I asked about the Boulevard Tank 7 Saison and mentioned how much I'd love drinking a cold pint from the tap. Right away, Mr. Know-It-All (in the best of ways) mentioned that Owen & Engine serves it on draft. Beer from this Kansas City brewery is notoriously hard to locate here in Chicago, and the mister nailed its mysterious whereabouts. Besides a fantastic selection of beer, Lush Wine delivers on their very name. Of course they serve vino justice! And not just the high-end stuff, either: There's a bottle in everyone's price range at Lush. Thanks for keeping me in my best (lushful) form. You'll certainly see this face again... and often. read more

Very nice service! The staff were welcoming and their selection is incredible. The place was clean and well-managed.

Fantastic selection of wines for reasonable prices! I needed a bottle of Prosecco for a friend's 30th birthday party celebration that would fit my budget and the knowledgable sales associate who helped me recommended the perfect bottle. Not only did the bottle she recommed fit my budget but I got to sample it before I bought and she even gift wrapped it for me as well. Total score! I can't wait to go back some Sunday and try their free wine tastings and pick up a few more goodies for myself. I gladly raise my glass to Lush Wine and Spirits! read more

So you know the 3/50 project? Where you find 3 local businesses and spend $50 a month supporting them (as opposed to a big box business or a chain that will survive without you)? All three of my local business last month were wine stores. My lips are permanently red. My eyes brilliant evermore with a champagne glimmer. Can't get enough of this place. Interesting selection, friendly help and the least-embarrassing $10 bottle of wine purchase ever - there are at least 40 such bottles to chose from in the center of the store - saving you the embarrassing "how much were you planning on spending?" conversation. They track your purchases and can make suggestions based on what you liked in the past and help you remember the name of the bottle you loved last July. Free tastings most Sundays 2-5. Check it out! read more

While not from this area, whenever I am up visiting I try to make it in here to find something solid. Vast selection of good wines, spirits, and a fair cooler of 22s. I come in for the whiskey... whenever I've had questions or a requested recommendation the staff has never fell short. While they had run out of Whistle Pig Boss Hog when I was here last, the gentleman recommended I try Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea. He explained the difference in procedure, aging, and it sounded worth while. When I got back to the place I was staying and tried it.... he wasn't wrong. It easily ranks top 5 on best whiskey / bourbon I've had in my life. Any questions while there? Just ask! The staff really knows their shit. read more
