Came on a Thursday for a mini bday dinner and we got the Prix-fixe menu. So worth it. Very small restaurant (maybe 20 seats max) so make a res beforehand. The courses were well-timed out and we didnt feel rushed even after the final course was served. Prix-fixe items listed below: 1. Scallop toast - wow. Scallops were like butter and the toast was seeded with a kick from some chili oil 2. Snapper and octopus ceviche - after finishing the solid components we drank this up like soup 3. Grilled prawn - look at the way the light hits it 4. Big eye tuna crudo - sleeper hit. The shiso vinaigrette is what dreams are made of 5. Blackened grouper - amazing cook on this 6. Grilled branzino - tasted Asian in a way 7. Red plum cake with vanilla bean ice cream and candied ginger - cute and tiny *also pictured: starter bread with furikake butter

Caviar Chawamushi- freaking amazing balance salt, cream, exquisite velvety texture

On the corner of 6th and Fitzwater is a little gem of Philly cuisine. The cozy atmosphere with that perfect neighborhood vibe brings together the warmth of the people, and excellence of the food! Hands down my favorite restaurant in Philly. The combination of flavors that are created, layers of complexity with each dish that really highlight the seafood. The scallop toast is perfect- the crunchiness of the toast with the meatiness and slightly salty scallop, which is beautifully enhanced by the chili oil. Erin and the servers are always so hospitable, and provide outstanding service without feeling stuffy/pretentious. This restaurant absolutely deserves recognition by the Michelin guide, and the fact it wasn't recognized with their inaugural guide is a crime.

Tasting menu black cod - SO good!

Absolutely incredible meal in an adorable spot! We had the tasting menu on a weekday for $90/pp, and it was one of the best meals I've had in Philly. Each bite was unique, fresh, and delicious, and the portions were large enough to be satisfying without getting bored along the way. It was also the perfect amount of food - we were stuffed by the end but not to an uncomfortable level. My personal favorites were the scallop toast and the black cod. Both were incredibly buttery and fresh but not overwhelmingly rich. Additionally, the dessert - a buckwheat cake with rhubarb sauce and sakura whipped cream - was insanely good. I'm not usually a cake person, especially not grain-y cakes like buckwheat, but I could've eaten an entire cake worth of that dessert.

Little Fish. Little overrated TBH. Little portions. Little flavor. But there was an overuse of umami flavors and it seemed to overpower a lot of the dishes. I'd recommend ordering a la carte rather than the prix fixe menu, if you do try this place. For the price I'd pay here, I'd rather go to Vernick Fish.

This was a nice birthday dinner but price fix is wildly expensive with the additional little add ons. Definitely needed an (extra) bread and butter dish as yes we were still kind of hungry. There was one fish dishes my partner does not like so he was disappointed he couldn't sub that one out. Unfortunately that night there must have been friends of chef coming in as they were getting one after the other dishes coming out not on the menu price fix or ala carte that I wish I could have tasted too. And heir dishes started coming out while we were waiting longer

Finally checked out Little Fish after living in Philly all these years. I've heard great things, but after eating here last Wednesday for the first time, Little Fish has solidified its high-ranking on my list of best restaurants in Philly. Going in, you already know to expect lots of fish for dinner, and it was exactly that. My husband and I decided on the $90 pre-fixe menu, but I have to say the specials (available to order a la carte) sounded enticing. Too bad the restaurant does not allow substitutions on the pre-fixe menu. Everything from the pre-fixe menu was delicious: 1. Big eye tuna crudo - two BIIIIG bites of thickly cut fresh tuna, dressed with shiso vinaigrette, red onion, furikake, it was a delicious palette cleanser, and great way to kick off a 6-course dinner. This place knows how to deliver on a crudo. WOW. 2. Scallop Toast - sliced raw scallops dressed in chili oil, served on top of toast, sprinkled with chives. Nice creamy texture from the scallops, and was enjoyable (scallops are my fave), however, the chili oil was a bit overpowering and prevented me from fully savoring the scallopiness of the scallops. (For us, these first 2 courses came out pretty quickly, almost simultaneously, and got us worried that this was going to be a quick 6-course dinner, but thankfully, that was not the case.) 3. Shrimp and Scallop - good segway into the heavier courses. Shrimp and scallop were perfectly cooked. Served on top of fragrant coconut rice. So good. 4. Grilled Black Cod - beautifully smoked and super tender. You don't even need to dip the cod in the miso-corn soubise. It was already great on its own. My husband and I were super blown away by this course. 5. Fish of the Day - we had the option to choose between the Butter Roasted Halibut and Pan Seared Red Drum, and both my husband and I went with the halibut. The Chinese broccoli and snow pea leaves that came with this dish were the perfect doneness -- nice and crunchy. The portion of the halibut was fairly large as well. At this point, I am super impressed. I could care less about the dessert. After everything we ate tonight, I am officially a fan of Little Fish. Dessert turned out to be a no frills tres leche cake, topped with cream and diced mango compote on the side. Not great, but not bad either. I think back to a certain restaurant in Center City with a $90 tasting menu and compare it to the $90 pre-fixe menu I just ate at Little Fish. There is no comparison. Little Fish wins. You get higher quality (sea)food here, portions are good (you will walk out of here full), the execution is flawless, and they're BYOB. There is a reason why it's almost impossible to get a reservation here. After almost 30 years, this place is going strong! Definitely secure your reservations as early as you can! FYI, they're closed on Sundays.

The food was amazing and the service was even better. My 1st time trying their food and it was delicious. It even has this spicy kick that hits right at the end ! I never thought fried onions would be good on my fries so they introduced my taste buds to something now. I highly recommend and will stop by there every time I'm down that area. A+A+A+A+

Little Fish has granted me new perspective that I've given out far too many five star ratings to other restaurants. Granted, this is my second time of visiting this restaurant my expectations have been exceeded for the second time in a row. Environment The environment is intimate(open kitchen), yet bright and the service is about two steps ahead of any presumptive request. Food Hands down this is my favorite seafood restaurant in the city. The menu varies but after two visits and trying half the menu on each occasion I can comfortably say chance will lead you to something delicious no matter what you select. It's easy to walk past the tiny restaurant but inside is a culinary adventure worth the cost. I'd recommend Little Fish for a date night or a quick sneak away to pamper yourself. Happy eats!

tiny little byob restaurant with an open kitchen concept! overall, a solid spot for seafood. my friend and i ordered the tasting menu which was 90$ pp on a weekday (Mon-Thu). our favorite bites were the steelhead trout crudo and the hiramasa tataki. i was very disappointed by the scallop toast, i was very excited to try it, but it was quite overrated and subpar. the raw scallops did not taste fresh, and the flavor was overpowered by saltiness from the chili oil and soy sauce. the grilled spanish mackerel, while tasty, still had some stray scales, which were unpleasant. for the price, i would assumed that the fish would be properly descaled. as a whole, i still enjoyed the tasting menu, and i was pleasantly surprised by the apple crumble dessert. the miso in the apple crumbled added a bit of umami which was unique and delicious. our waitress was friendly and attentive, the service was very prompt. not a cheap meal, but makes sense for seafood. their menu items do get updated regularly, but the scallop toast is their signature and always stays. i'd skip the scallop toast though, a la carte it goes for $24 for two relatively small pieces, and it was the most disappointing bite of the night.

Un. Be. Lieve. Able. This place is LIFECHANGING. The interior is this cute little limited seating area, you def need a reservation. Open kitchen style so you can see the chefs working. The staff are so fun and friendly. It's BYOB, which was really fun. The food is just exceptional. Beyond exceptional. Every dish hit. Favorites were the scallop toast, the pasta, and the fish!! They have add ons you can pick for your meal, and we added on the pasta and the oysters, which were sooo worth it. The pasta was just incredible, nicely al dente with fantastic flavors. Dessert was a delicious tres leches cake!

Booked a reservation here for my girlfriend's birthday and I enjoyed the food more than I thought I would. Parking wasn't too hard to find but we were there at 9PM. The place is small so definitely book a reservation. It's cozy inside with little tables so it would be hard to book for a large party, if that's even possible. It's also pretty cool to be able to see the chefs work in the open kitchen. The staff is extremely nice and the vibes are great. The scallop toast was the perfect appetizer and set the tone for the rest of the night. It had all of us in a chokehold to the point that we'd come back just for that. The fish dishes were also so damn good that I'm disappointed that I know I won't be able to make it myself. We ate every part that was edible and each of the sauces complemented the fish so well. It never tasted like they were the same, each had its own distinct taste which kept things refreshing. As for the spaghetti, you'd think it's just spaghetti but that pesto sauce is something else. It's as if you took pesto sauce and just elevated it. If you told me that's all I could eat for the next month, I wouldn't complain. The seared scallops were also really good and that rich vichyssoise was heartwarming. The dessert of the day... I don't even know what it was but it put a perfect end to the night. It was sweet but refreshing because of the added fruits. I could go on and on but you're better off coming here yourself. Props to the wait staff and especially the kitchen for easily making Little Fish one of my top favorites. 10/10 would come back again and recommend it to everyone.

Amazing food and service! The restaurant is so small and intimate. Every dish is creative and you can tell the passion the whole team has. If you love fish, try to secure a reservation here! Bonus the tasting menu is less expensive during the week!

Philadelphia has an abundance of great restaurants and this long running establishment topped our list of food experiences. The interior exudes a warm and cozy atmosphere with an open kitchen, and the food and service were at the highest level. We thoroughly enjoyed the prix fixe seafood menu, and will return whenever we are in town in Philadelphia again. Thank you again to the staff for everything!

The oyster liquor makes it so the oyster remains fresh btw as well which is obviously uber important. We had oysters from Maine, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and all of the ones we chose you could taste the unique differences from one to the next. Crab cakes were on point; the vegetables were next level with the side of asparagus coming with roe on top of it. New England soup was actually light and not heavy like most creamy NE soups which I appreciated as it made me have room for the rest of the meal. We also indulged in some Butterscotch Pudding which in my view had three distinct flavors. The very top tasted similar to sweet creme Brule, the actual pudding was creamy and delish and there was a garnish of whipped cream I believe on top. All items surpassed my expectations and we will definitely be repeat customers. Highly Recommend. As always people SYOY!!!!

But, on…read morethe multi-festival Saturday, second of May in the year 2026, I can definitively say that I've now tried the little seafood spot on one of our favorite corners, that we're almost always just passing by to get to Time. First, the friendly, informative service: in an oyster bar with a rotating fresh selection, that's an underrated must. We were seated outside, given a rundown of the menu and "as it's ready" flow of the kitchen. We got a pair of cocktails, the Melonata and a Tequila Julep. I think the Melonata might be my new summer favorite. It looks like Ecto Cooler but doesn't give a distinct feeling of growing diabetes while drinking it. In grown up terms, it was well balanced, not too sour, not too sweet, and deeply herbal, fruity, and refreshing at the same time. The Tequila Julep was a Mint Julep with tequila instead of bourbon. It was good, though it's hard to mess that set of ingredients up. We got a selection of oysters and a shooter. Every oyster was distinct and different. Felt like there were no "different on the menu but same in flavor profile" that you can sometimes run into. This implies it's well curated. I have no idea, because I'm not an expert fishmonger, nor do I know whether that term specifically applies here - case in point. Anyway, I got 2 from Washington State, and another from Cape May. The first WA was large, buttery, and had the satisfying chew of young coconut flesh. Semi sweet. The second was smaller, sharper, and briny as hell - tasted of the ocean. And finally, the Cape May was mild and fresh, a good balance between the two others. It was a perfect little tasting menu that I'd created by just ordering the first three guys off the list. Not sure what selection came with the shooter, but the concoction in the shot glass shooter was bright green and pickly. Glad I got it as a contrast to the classics with what I assumed was red wine vinegar. Besides that, we snacked on salmon avocado toast with the Calabrian Chili Oil. It was also very, very good. Sometimes things are better than the sum of their parts. This is true here, but it's also worth noting that the individual parts - the bread, the smoked salmon, the chili oil, the avocado, the shaved onions - were excellent in their own right. We will be back for sure.

But no. Raw bar came after sandwiches and wings so that threw off the ambiance. I still hadn't received my drink as more food was being delivered around me; and while I was watching one bar staff crouching under the bar on their phone, after a while I was like...do you know if my drink is on the way? It was her. She forgot. Literally It's first seating at the bar. Anyways wings were fine. oysters and clams great. Shrimp toastie & fish Sandwich fine. But when it came to the Al Pastor Octopus that I generally love here, this one was both chewy and slimy. Like the whole sleeve of the octopus had a slime layer- , was it the tentacles part? I had to keep spitting out. Not a nice chargrilled taste but each slice chewy with slime layer. Bleh. So disappointed. Threw the $20 into the trash. Didn't even get an "oh no" from the staff. Like why did we not want it when asked and I made the face. each bite was slime We settled up and immediately went next door to eat at double knot and that, per usual, WAS 5 star amazing.

I also added Sausage, which was $1 extra. I was very happy with the Snow Crab, because the legs were nice and thick. I used the cracker tool to get the meat out and it worked pretty well. The crab meat was delightfully tender, flaky, and was full of flavor made even tastier in the buttery garlic sauce. The shrimp had to be peeled, but was quite juicy and succulent. The veggies were fresh, soft, and cooked perfectly. The sausage was wonderfully well seasoned. I also got to try Coconut Shrimp, Hush Puppies, and Sweet Potato Fries. The Coconut Shrimp was lightly breaded, amazingly crispy, with the great taste of coconut. The Hush Puppies were also decent, and satisfyingly crunchy. Sweet potato fries were yummy and addicting.
