Shrimps, L5. 1/2 lb. Black Mussels, and oysters.

I love this place... always quiet and peaceful. A great place to bring your family and enjoy the seafood, which I did. The choice of seasonings is yummy. The shrimps are my favorite then add the black mussels... yum!

Went here the other day and had a good experience! There were some lunch deals on seafood boil that are worth it. Everything tasted good and I loved that the spice levels are actually spicy. The staff were very friendly and quick. This spot is perfect for a casual meal. Only wish there was music playing to fill the silence!

    Plastic fried crab stick

Ordered from Uber eats and my crab stick was fried in the plastic it came in. SMH it's funny because they always advertise this for the buy one get one. I normally order the seafood boil but the portions are pretty small. Anyway this was my last time

6 Pieces Takoyak only a slice of octopus in it. It's a disappointment
    Retna S.

The review is for order through Grubhub. First of all the delivery fee is expensive $6.99 and it took a long time to get the food. Takoyaki was a disappointment. There's only one tiny bit of octopus and the rest is batter. Sauce isn't the regular takoyaki instead I got cocktail sauce and no bonito flakes Catfish needs to be fried longer. Sweet potato fries is soggy.

Menu item price (pick up vs delivery)

PRICING: To pick up? Yes! To order delivery through app? NO! $5 bump (13%) on one item on delivery (Yelp) vs pickup price. That's before other fees. Do I think restaurants deserve to make money? Yes. But this is too much "recovery" of delivery service costs.

Cajun seafood is always a slight splurge for me because I can never feel full from seafood - especially at the price point for 1 lb of snow crabs on its own! Shaking Seafood is my go-to for seafood boil in Philly when I'm up for it! What's best about this establishment is the variety of combos there are! You can get a decent $25-40 combo of different seafood mixes in a bag! This is great because it's a little less expensive than ordering individual seafood boil items a la carte and also gives us the ability to find what we like in each combo! The Cajun sauce is amazing. Super flavorful and always the right amount of spice! I like my seafood boil to have a hefty amount of seasoning and sauce. Shaking Seafood does it right. I also tried the lemon pepper wings which are a new favorite! I can't go without them when I order from head. The flavor is spot on. My only complaint is that each combo I've ordered has only ever come with 1 small piece of corn, sparse bits of sausage, and 2 of the smallest potato chunks on the side. This is lacking as opposed to other seafood boil restaurants in the city, but the flavor makes up for it overlaps

    Fried shrimp platter
    Ade B.

Was craving fried shrimp and wanted to try someplace new. Shaking seafood isn't too far from me so I ordered a fried shrimp platter and had it delivered. The shrimp were a nice size, perfectly seasoned & fried. They hit the spot and satisfied my craving! The only downside was not enough cocktail sauce. The platter was still warm when it arrived so the fries were crisp and tasty as well. Fries usually arrive cold soggy and inedible when they are delivered. The next time I'm craving fried shrimp during this pandemic I will definitely order from Shaking Seafood again.

The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the slaw and sauce were fresh and tangy, and the bread was perfectly crispy and soft at the same time. The sweet tea was amazingly refreshing and light, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The service was great and the person at the counter was incredibly friendly. But walking in is a very clean family owned restaurant. They using a Louisiana theme. The menu is Louisiana style food. The bread was good but come out cold. If it was warm. I think that would be voted best bread. Devil crab was slightly salty and not much lumps of crab as the menu said. The fried shrimp/hush puppies was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were huge. The greens were tasty and had a little Louisiana kick to them. The mash potatoes came out on the cool side. There's light music in the air while eating. Seems family owned and operated I can see this place being busy. Locals, businesses, people like me looking for something different. They seat large parties as well. And single party of 1. Can't say I'll be back. But it was worth a Yelp try.

I loved the fact the restaurant had parking and upon entering the establishment, there was plenty of seating in the dining room. Thus, we were started promptly and given menus. We decided to go with the chargrilled oysters and hush puppies for our appetizers. For entrees we had the catfish, which came with greens, grits and crawfish gravy + the shrimp etouffee. Our appetizers were a great way to start the dining experience. The oysters were large and fresh from the grill. We enjoyed the hint of lemon, cheese and butter used to flavor the oysters. The hush puppies were delicious too. They were not too sweet or salty. We enjoyed the balance of the cornmeal with the other ingredients. Next up, our entrees. My catfish was very fresh. It was pipping hot, which I love. The greens were a combination of collard, turnips and mustard greens. I loved the flavor, but wish they were warmer. My grits were not good at all. I opted to have my crawfish gravy on the side bc I love grits enough to eat them solo. Well, these grits were very lumpy and cold. I imagine the chef was relying on the gravy to be used for "loosen" or even heat up the grits. While I loved my fish and the flavor of the greens, both of my sides were room temperature in comparison to my fish. I was a little sad that happened. My partner liked his shrimp etouffee. He said it was pipping hot and full of fantastic flavors. The portion sizes for entrees were generous. I had leftovers for the next day. We liked this place and may return if we are in the area again.

There is duck bowling, which means they're small balls and pins, but they're only four lanes, so if you don't make a reservation, you won't be able to bowl. The families that were playing were enjoying themselves. I would come here to bowl and have specific, easy-to-make drinks. We grabbed seats at the bar because the restaurant seemed full, and sports were on the TVs. The bar seats were comfy, with backs on them, and there was a bar to rest your foot. It took a minute to get service, as it seems the bartender is the only one for the whole place. Maybe they need another bartender when the bowling alley and restaurant are both complete. I had an espresso martini, which was too sweet for me. My husband had a mule and thought it was good. My second drink was a tall Titos vodka soda. The bartender informed us that the menu changes on Tuesday, so they have no more crab, which is what I wanted. I was going to order the crab dip and the seafood mac & cheese. We pivoted to fried green tomatoes that were a little too breaded and cooked for me, but the sauce was good. We did get the seafood mac & cheese, but it did not have much shrimp on it. The shells were overcooked and combined, so you had to separate them and cover them in sauce, or the bite didn't have enough flavor. Also, the cheese sauce was a little soupy.

So the bowling balls are also smaller. There's just a glitch with the pins where once in a while they may get tangled in each other but the attendants fixes it promptly. Staff was friendly and on point from beginning to end. They do take the dress code seriously, I saw people get turned away for athletic wear. It's clear on their website and not asking too much for an upscale night out. Prices weren't ridiculous, especially since portions were plentiful. A lot of people were leaving with leftovers. The specialty drinks are a bit pricey tho. The cornbread and Mac n cheese are a must order the moment you sit down to start things off. Both served in a small skillet, perfect to share. The cornbread bread was flavorful and the butter that comes on top you def want to let that melt right in! The Mac n cheese noodles were a little softer than I would of preferred but the blend of cheeses and the crisp crust on top made me not worry about the doneness of the noodles, it was top notch! We went classic with the entrees - catfish with gulf shrimp. The catfish was cooked perfect super tender and flaky. I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp, for "gulf shrimp" as they listed in the menu they were a lot Smaller than I expected and a little tough. The sauce they came in was nice. I would have liked some kind of sauce on the side for the catfish. The collard green rice was delicious and the broccoli that came with it was prob the most delicious broccoli I've ever had, just cooked well in lots of butter! The other entree we got was the fried chicken. Really delicious and tender. It came with a sweet potato side that was yummy and a classic collard greens Even tho we were stuffed we had to try the bread pudding, it was served with a Side of delicious ice cream.
