Reggae Reggae Vibes offers delicious Caribbean food that is full of bold flavor and well seasoned. The jerk dishes are tender and packed with authentic taste, and the sides complement the meals perfectly. Everything tastes fresh and satisfying, with that comforting homemade quality you expect from good Caribbean cooking. The flavors are rich without being overwhelming, and the food is prepared with care. If you enjoy Jamaican style cuisine such as jerk chicken, jerk chicken cheesesteaks, or flavorful sides, this is definitely a spot worth trying. Great option for takeout when you want something filling and full of flavor. read more

We decided on Jamaican and Reggaex2 Vibes seemed like a good option since it's near our house. The beef short ribs platter is reasonably priced for the portion size. The two chosen sides were mach and cheese and collard greens. The short ribs were incredibly tender and had a nice flavor. They were a little salty for my taste, but not by much. The greens and macaroni and cheese were good sides. The star of the order was the candied yams. OMG!!! Those get 10 stars! I also ordered garlic string beans and jerk chicken. The jerk chicken presentation was not pleasant and they were a bit dry. The sauce helped. I look forward to going back and trying oxtails and goat. I will definitely get the yams as a side. read more

I had to review this place right away because my tummy was super happy after indulging in my jerk chicken (fully spicy), with rice and peas, cabbage, and a side of plantain. While waiting the owner gave us a brownie and a pineapple ginger drink to try. He was very nice and told me how his mother makes the food. This establishment only allows window ordering but it was very popular as I saw many uber eats pick ups and folks recommending everything to me lol! For the price the amount of food is great as well! read more

Reggae Reggae Vibes is my go to for Jamaican food on the go. The flavors hit every time, and it always seems to satisfy my Caribbean food cravings. I make sure to always stop here whenever I'm in Philly to take home. Just a heads up - this place isn't very quick, and there is usually always a wait. read more

This place has been on my to-try list for a while. As I was walking down the street, I stopped to look at the menu. I didn't realize I'd stopped in front of the ordering window. When a man opened the door, I took that as my sign that I needed to try it TODAY. I ordered a curry chicken platter with kale and collards and with rice and peas. The greens were my favorite; I ate them all right away. They used smoked turkey instead of pork to flavor them, which I prefer. I had enough chicken and rice/peas left for a second meal. The chicken was tender and falling off the bone. Rice and peas were good. I look forward to trying more from the menu - especially the weekend specials. read more

I order from this place alot. I get the Friday special BBQ beef short rib platter, and have called it my usual. I now have a new usual. The Oxtail cheesesteak is so good, if I was going to curse in joy about how good something is, it would be on here. You get a lot of meat and no bones on the cheesesteak, its so delicious. Now the price on their menu is $18, but be careful cause on Uber Eats it's charging $24. On their Online ordering website its $20. Just call and go pick it up for the least expensive way. And if you don't eat beef, their fall off the bone chicken cheesesteak is so good too. It's $13 on their menu, $15 on Uber Eats, and $13 on their Online Ordering. So it's a really good less expensive alternative if you want chicken rather than beef. Also for the picture, the roll is a bit soggy cause of the oxtail and cause I opened it after a half hour car ride so keep that in mind, and I had only lightly toasted my roll. read more

Some of the best Jamaican food I've had in Pennsylvania. Even ordering right before closing their food did not disappoint. Aside from the patties and the jerk chicken being awesome, the yams were phenomenal. Not too sweet, with just enough spices. Be sure to try the lemon poundcake also, didn't get a picture, but it was delicious. read more

I had to update my review. Firstly, I've given them many chances prior to updating my review. I always order Ubereats. But the more I order from them, the more it seems to be not as great as the first 3 others. They always miss my order notes or some of the items. One time, I ordered jerk chicken with mac n cheese, sweet plantains, beef patty, and potato salad. They never send my potato salad or the beef patty. I called them and they said they gonna tell Ubereats. That was a lie. Then another order, they missed my sweet plantains. In another order, they missed 2 sodas and potato salad. Last night was the last straw. They sold me BBQ sauce when I requested spicy jerk sauce and the mac n cheese was super sweet and not cheesy. The chicken was so dried I couldn't eat it. read more

I recently got Uber eats from this restaurant. I ordered jerk chicken, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese. I also ordered the vegetarian platter which had rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. The food was just OK. I like the jerk chicken and there was plenty of it in the platter. The mac & cheese was OK, but they didn't quite have a lot of flavor. The other sides, the plantains, cabbage, rice and peas were all a little lackluster, but they weren't bad. for some reason, I could not get past the flavor of the sweet potatoes. I'm sure that it was something they seasoned the sweet potatoes with, and I could not figure out what the flavor was. It reminded me of an after taste of dish soap. Initially, I thought it was something that was just on a bit of the food, but it went through the entire serving of sweet potatoes. And later, while eating the jerk chicken, I taste the flavor again. I'm not sure what that seasoning is and maybe it's an acquired taste but I really didn't find it appealing to have in sweet potatoes. The serving was a good serving and the value was good. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I'm a vegetarian and am always ordering their callaloo wrap with sides. My favs are their Mac and cheese (which is to die for), yams and string beans. Their house drinks are phenomenal as well! If you follow them on IG @reggaereggaevibes they post stories of their secret pop up items like jerk pizza, jerk nachos and jerk quesadillas. I actually bought some of their spicy jerk sauce and use it on seitan at home. Highly recommend! read more

I've tried this place at least 6 times over the past 3 years, so a review is overdue! Bomb food with friendly service. They are take out only but there's a couple tables on the curb. I've had their jerk chicken before and it was good. I personally don't prefer chicken. Oxtail is my go-to! Price has increased significantly, but I think it's still worth it to treat myself once in a while. Montego Bay Oxtails Stew with candied yams and Mac n cheese, along with a side of Steam Cabbage was 5/5. Don't walk, run to reggae reggae! Another fave was their jerk cheese fries (not pictured). OMGGGG. Whoever thought of jerk sauce on cheese fries, give that person a raise! Love that they packed the fries, jerk sauce, and cheese individually. I was able to airfry the fries to heat & crisp up before tossing in jerk sauce then pour cheese over. YUMMMM. Lastly, we tried their RRV Full House Hamburger and it was dry. We needed to add condiments at home. I would skip this. Overall, I rec!! Oxtail + jerk cheese fries yasss read more

Was craving Jamaican food while on my work trip in Philadelphia. Ordered this place off GrubHub and was not disappointed. I wish I would've known of it sooner!! The chicken was so good and the side of jerk sauce slapped! It was so spicy and garlicky. I absolutely loved it!!! It's nice to order from a place that doesn't automatically do rice as a side - I got the collards and plantains. The greens were the perfect texture and seasoning; not hard or over cooked at all. The plantains were sweet and were really good in the jerk sauce. I may order from here again before I leave next week. read more

a pretty significant update- i think when I first reviewed, it was delivery and I was more unimpressed with the food via delivery apps. I've learned my lesson and started walking to pickup since this place is within a few blocks of a friends house. Delicious! While ordering over the phone in the evening can sometimes involve a medium length hood (since they cater to other delivery services first) it is well worth it! The short ribs on friday and saturday are my favorite, but in a close second, the curried goat always knocks my socks off in tenderness and quantity. Jerk chicken is always awesome too, even walking to the corner you get hyped by the smells emanating from the kitchen down the block. Cabbage, string beans and callalo are great sides. I've maintained low-ish carb eating with Reggae Reggae Vibes as my comfort food without going too much over. read more

Ordered delivery last night for dinner - Uber Eats had a promo so I took advantage to try something new. I was skeptical b/c of the horrific Jamaican food Philly is usually out here serving me. But baybeee!! This was delicious!! They are trying To right everything wrong the other trash Jamaican restaurants are committing. LOL! It arrived hot, fresh, & ahead of schedule. I ordered a beef and a chicken patty to start as an appetizer. Delicious. I need more of that in my immediate future. It may be today!! Lol. We're having leftovers for dinner, and I might have to go over there to get more patties. (Also note the portions are so big, we have leftovers!) Because I can only judge Jamaican food by the very traditional staple standards, I ordered curry chicken and jerk chicken. I cannot spend $25 on oxtails when I don't know what you're doing over there. I've had to throw expensive $&& oxtail platters in the trash because I got "got" in the past with fraudulent Jamaican food. The entrées did not disappoint, while we are sucking on bones, we're literally saying how we're going to order oxtails next time. It's both of our preference but like I said, we had to test them out 1st. :) I cooked white rice at home to not waste it as a side dish, again, I want to taste as many things as I can to appropriately judge them, LOL. So I ordered callaloo, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, and a collard/kale mix. The stars- Mac & cheese (shocker for Jamaican place, I really gambled with my life here) & callaloo. Definitely will reorder. The other veggies were fine, just nothing particularly spectacular unlike the other things we had. Also had jerk fries- the sauce was yummy & fries were as well. I suggest they poke a holes in the Styrofoam container so the steam can escape & doesn't basically turn the fries into soft mushy things. I had to pop them in the toaster oven to crisp, but they tasted delicious. We are new devotees, I am soooo happy I have a place to get good Jamaican food. Finally!!! read more

Reggae Reggae Vibes is my favorite Jamaican spot in Philly. I've been here countless times and typically order the weekend sampler, fried whiting, jerk chicken, mac, and candied yams. The only time I've ever had a "bad" experience here was when I tried a jerk cheesesteak, and the meat was full of fat. I however tried it again, and it was great. I recently used reggae reggae for catering at a birthday party. They're transparent with their catering prices on their website, and the process of ordering, paying, and picking up was seamless. I will definitely use them for future events and be sure to take photos. read more

Got a few takeout platters today for dinner. Nice spot. Jerk chicken was tender but we didn't have any sauce to make it taste like jerk. Sad b/c it had a lot of potential. Oxtails we're great. The go to item for me is the jerk chicken cheesesteak. It's always good and is a perfect combo of cheesy, sweet and spicy. Ask for some jerk sauce on the side for extra kick. Not pictured is the jerk chicken. The flavor was on point and I love the bites where you get char and the spice. I would definitely recommend trying it. Their side items I wasn't too impressed with. The Mac and cheese didn't have any flavor and was dry. Honestly tasted like plain macaroni with some cheddar melted on it. The beef patty tasted like the frozen brands you get from the store. read more

Staff here was very friendly and gave off that family feel. Their welcome felt warm and inviting . I smelled the delicious bbq smoke a block away. So this is becoming my favorite quick weekend take out place. The food is cooked per order. They have an open kitchen, so you can see your food cook. The kitchen seems reasonably clean for a take out place. They have a small seating area. You place your order, grab your seat and eat. Chilled Caribbean music playing in the background. The place does get very busy during the peak hours. Also, it is BYOB..yeah... Now for the food. The food is delicious. The seasoning adds flavor to the food. I see that they will be selling their jerk sauces soon. Have tried their goat curry, chicken curry, and jerk chicken entrees, and have enjoyed all. Never been disappointed. Recommend this place if you have not already tried it. read more

I ordered the jerk chicken and a beef patty. I haven't had much Jamaican food, but the jerk chicken had a nice charred crust and was juicy and tender. However, it was definitely lacking in seasoning and spice. Spiced it up with some of my own BBQ sauce, but not great when I have to use my own. The sauce that came with it had a unique flavor, but it wasn't working for me. I wouldn't have minded too much - however, the cost ($10) was a tad expensive for the portion size. As for the patty - the ground beef inside was delicious. The crust was a bit dry, but the well-seasoned curry flavor made up for it. Overall, an okay place. Wanted to support a black-owned business and also feeling lazy so I did takeout. read more

The jerk chicken was good, pretty dry though. The Mac and cheese was very very dry and not cheesy at all. The rice and peas was also dry. But it was decent rice. Not sure what the raving reviews are about. The food isn't really that good. And it was cold by time I got it. read more

So, I kind of fell off this place cuz the portions got small & prices got bigger. Like for instance, I love their oxtail but their is no shortage of oxtail..so why raise the price more than chicken bruh! Ridiculous!!! And the portion is smaller for $20.00. Come on. R u in the oil industry now! However, today I gave them another chance on that jerk chicken cheesesteak, mild, peppers, onion, toast the roll....BABY! 9.2 outta 10! Bruh! Off day maybe? With such great reviews I'm very surprised my food just wasn't up to par. The curry shrimp had almost no flavor, when I added seasoning it was ok to eat. I have been on a hunt to find a good Jamaican spot ever since my brothers in laws cooked us some authentic Jamaican food for Christmas (it was amazinggg) anyways, I figured I try this place. I thought it was okay. I ordered the oxtails w/ fried plantain and rice & peas. The oxtail was disappointing, the rice and peas were okay and I can't really judge the plantains since we ordered on ubereats (the plantains were soggy) Not worth what you pay and I didn't even finish it. BUT We also ordered Boston jerk chicken w/ Mac and cheese & candied yams, it was good! We ended up sharing that. Maybe before the pandemic this place was decent because I see good ratings. I understand the challenges that restaurants are facing so I would try it again. Just not soon. read more

Stopped by today and ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and fried plantain. Had to wait about 30 minutes but I think it's because it was being freshly made, however the oxtail was nothing more than fat with very little meat and was too salty. The plantain was cooked too hard and the rice and peas were a bit dry. Price for the platter was 21.50......they could have provided more meat but instead chose to load you up on rice and peas in the hope you'd be full and not notice the lack of meat. Crunchy but soft moist skin, meat falling off the bone. Cooked through but still moist. Delicious. Great oxtail. Proper oxtail stew. The juices over the peas and rice put it over the top. I've been on a take-out kick of trying new-to-me restaurants and I'm glad I took a chance on Reggae Reggae Vibes. Jamaican food is known to be very spicy, but I found their food to be on the milder side. Still great smoke-y, grilled flavor! Also you get a lot of food for what it's worth. I wasn't able to finish all my food and had enough leftovers for a second meal. + FOOD/DRINK: -Boston Jerk Chicken (Large): I think a large is definitely big enough to feed two people. I loved how you can taste the char on the meat. Like it's been either grilled or smoked. I liked that the meat isn't overly sauced and it was actually very juicy. Kinda of disappointed that the meat, though savory, didn't get that expected spicy kick. Not enough scotch bonnets? The spice level on this chicken is mild at best. -Steamed Callaloo: Great to pair with the chicken. Not overly watery. Nicely seasoned. I would say get this side to cut down on the heaviness of the chicken. -Fried Plantain: Very sweet. Sweeter than I expected plantains to be. If the slices weren't so large, I would have mistook these for fried banana. -Jamaican Patties (Beef): I loved this so much! A little more dough than beef filling, but a steal at only $3. The outside is crispy, dough is thick so not sogginess. Just a little oily, but the filling is well seasoned. -Tropical Punch: Very interesting mix of guava and pineapple? Refreshing and a great way to wash down all this food. Orders come in a standard 16oz size. +PRICE: Well worth the price in my opinion. A lot more food than I was anticipating. With everything, I paid about $20 and had enough food for another meal. Overall: If you want to try dipping your toes in Jamaican food, I recommend trying out Reggae Reggae vibes. The food is bomb and I was very satisfied with my order. read more

Once I found this place about 2 years ago and now its my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Philly. Today, I called ahead for an order of snapper and not until I arrived did I find out it was sold out. Thankfully the staff was accommodating and allowed me to get something else to make up for it. I never had their curry shrimp before so although I didn't have the snapper, I will say the curry shrimp and jerk chicken was delicious. They are usually busy at any time of day so I suggest calling ahead for them to start your food before you pick it up. Regardless, good authentic food. read more
