Best shoe repair in the country, and believe me, I know shoe repair! Thanks Bob Kuyper for running such an outstanding business! A problem with wearing good boots or shoes is getting them resoled or repaired when needed. It is getting harder and harder to find a quality repair shop, when you do find one you keep giving them business. My father, who now lives in Utah, sent me his boots to have them repaired at Kuyper's. I just picked up a pair of Danskos that needed a new heel cap. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. The quality of work is better than I have experienced at Longmont and Boulder shoe repair shops, the cost is 30% less than Longmont and Boulder, and Kuyper's puts a buff on your shoes before they return them to you. This last part, putting a shine on your shoes before they are returned to you is actually a very big deal. It really reflects a craftsman who is proud of his work and wants to go the extra mile and present his work to you in the best possible way. Shops which hand you back your shoes as dirty and scuffed up as you brought them in, or want to charge you an arm and a leg just to run the shoes over a buffer, are just an embarrassment. Go to Kuyper's, you will speak directly to the man who will be repairing your shoes, you will get a higher quality result, you will pay less money, and you will be patronizing a shop which is proud of it's work.

I couldn't find any clear resources on how to fix this myself, and local tailors said they couldn't handle luggage repair, but recommended asking a cobbler. I found Mr Shine on Google and called ahead to see if they repair luggage, and then dropped off the next day. I was informed that they could try to replace the slider & pull, but that it may not be possible given some damage to the zipper, and they would keep me updated. Because they were unsure of the possible repair, I didn't have to pay anything at drop off (I really appreciated their transparency!). I got a call a few days later that the suitcase was fixed, and they were able to do the cheaper option after all. At pickup, the zipper teeth were straight, there was a leather reinforcement added to the end of the track, and the slider and pull were new and moved around smoothly. Their team is clearly skilled at what they do, especially for a repair that seemingly no other business wants to touch! They have beautiful handmade shoes on display in the store as well. The staff were kind and helpful both in person and over the phone. Definitely recommend for shoe, luggage, handbag repair & more!

A 4th customer had walked in while she was helping us, so she also began helping him. The lady was very knowledgeable, very customer service based and did an outstanding job during her afternoon rush. I found a really great family owned place that had been in Boulder for two generations and I used them for years. When rents in Boulder got too high, they moved to Nederland. I recently heard that they finally closed forever about a year ago which left me in a quandary about where to get my husband's favorite belt repaired. It is nearly 20 years old and the leather quality sound but the stitching that holds the buckle and loop on had completely torn away. We went in on Friday to see if the staff here could fix it. They said they could and it would be ready on Monday. We paid in advance about what the belt originally cost but hand labor is not cheap these days. Amazingly, they called today to tell us it was ready. We went over to the shop and indeed it looked very good. At least now we can put off the search for a new perfect belt, hopefully for another decade. Note: the place is still a mess inside and there are still dissatisfied customers in the line ahead and behind you. Hopefully your project will turn out as well as ours did.

Is this a particularly busy season for shoe repair (Fall, 2026)? When I call the store to inquire, they say "we will give you a call when it's ready". Drive 20min to Longmont's redwing or anywhere else within a 20mi radius if you have questions before you spend hundreds on boots. To be clear you are much better off ordering any Redwing products online and researching it yourself. The store is staffed with young associates that can't help much and the system has "been down" so transactions are on paper and with carbon copies. Hope you don't have to order or return anything that is on back order.

When I retrieved my boots, one of the shoe laces had been cut and was tied back together... Not only that, but there were other parts of the shoe lace which looked purposely worn down. The leather and an eyelet had been cut into as well; I suspect there was a slip of a tool which cut the shoelace and the shoe leather. The other shoe was fine. I told the man who was there, whom I assume to be the owner, that the shoelaces were never broken and were not worn out when I brought them in. I tried to use logic and compare the worn shoelace to the unworn shoelace on the other boot. He argued with me, claiming that I must have taken them hiking and broke the shoe lace. When I told him that I do not take these boots hiking, he then told me I must have tripped off of a sidewalk to ruin the laces. He then tried to sell me laces from the store. When I wore the shoes, I noticed the insides to be warped. After a week of wearing the "repaired" shoes, the heels started to come apart again. I understand mistakes happen, but this was a poorly done job and I was lied to. Please save your loved shoes by going elsewhere.

A week and a half later I still hadn't heard anything so I called to inquire and I got a rude response for not having my ticket on hand for the store owner to retrieve the boots.
