I wanna give a very special shout-out to Devo Mireles (Baseball/Softball Manager - 117898). Our daughters both just started competitive travel ball/club teams as opposed to just rec fastpitch softball. We went in looking for a bat that we could afford and that would be durable, and the perfect fit for each of our girl's swing styles. He introduced us to all the bats in stock and let us know that they do have a demo bat program to help with our budget for all the other gear we need! Competive level softball gear adds up quick! Devo took his time and made my girls feel confident in each bat they selected in a doable budget for us. Based on my description of needs, he helped me pick out two handfuls of bats for each girl to go try in the batting cage. He was so patient, and kind! He didn't just sell us bats, he gave my girls very valuable feedback on their batting stances, aim, and body mechanics while swinging. Because of Devo the girls were not nervous to keep trying the bats and didn't get bored with the process. He helped them each find different bats in the perfect sizes and weights for each of them! They also left with some free pointers that will be very helpful this season and educated us parent's, as well. Thank you Devo, you're the man to lead that department for sure.! But this afternoon I arrived at Whiteside's at 3pm (on a Saturday!) and they repaired the heels on my dress shoes, lickety-split, while I waited. My shoes look brand new. A lady was working in the section beside where I was looking she had a careful of clothing to hang. As I was looking at some pants she shoved the pants where I was at all the way to and smashed my hand on there. It was so rude. She didn't even say excuse me or anything she just shoved them. So I just ended up leaving. She could have easily kept working where she was but decided that she needed me out of the way first so I left and gave her all the room she needed.

I can only describe it as Anthropologie-lite (sorry Yvonne C!) - I walked out of there with a sweet winter wool coat for $37 on sale. Seriously? I could have bought 5 for the price of my last big coat investment. Granted, it probably won't last me as long, but it's just what I was looking for. This particular location is not super large - they are a family owned chain of about 100+ stores - but features fashionable, reasonably priced clothes (Meghan got 2 great dresses for $60), lots of jewelry and handbags, picture frames, and some odds and ends gifty items. Really, I love it. Right now they are having a 30% sale on almost everything in the store. That makes me happy.

This place is like an Anthropologie meets Forever 21, with cute doodads up front, nice jewelry and really cute dresses that are not too expensive. Their adorable dresses range from $30-50 and are pretty unique designs. I found one that I've grown very fond of and found it a steal at $20 but when I was rung up it was an additional 50% off... I ended up getting more items. I told the girls (who were absolutely wonderful) working there that I was from CA and she told me that Francesca's is actually based there. But mainly in SoCal. Darn.. but at least I don't have to fly all the way out to the Ft. Collins area to see this place again.

Wow, I am super impressed with Mr Shine Shoe Repair! During travel, the zipper pull and slider…read moretotally fell off of one of the compartments on my samsonite suitcase. I couldn't find any clear resources on how to fix this myself, and local tailors said they couldn't handle luggage repair, but recommended asking a cobbler. I found Mr Shine on Google and called ahead to see if they repair luggage, and then dropped off the next day. I was informed that they could try to replace the slider & pull, but that it may not be possible given some damage to the zipper, and they would keep me updated. Because they were unsure of the possible repair, I didn't have to pay anything at drop off (I really appreciated their transparency!). I got a call a few days later that the suitcase was fixed, and they were able to do the cheaper option after all. At pickup, the zipper teeth were straight, there was a leather reinforcement added to the end of the track, and the slider and pull were new and moved around smoothly. Their team is clearly skilled at what they do, especially for a repair that seemingly no other business wants to touch! They have beautiful handmade shoes on display in the store as well. The staff were kind and helpful both in person and over the phone. Definitely recommend for shoe, luggage, handbag repair & more!
