I took my slightly worn Softstar shoes to Fernando at Little Boot and asked for a tough, nonslip heel to be added into each of the 1/8" soles. He said they would be only a bit higher once he put them in. When I picked up the shoes he had instead added entire resoles to both shoes, saying there was a "bump" that prevented just doing the heel on one shoe. No extra charge but now my thin, minimal shoes had 1/4" soles. Right away I took a weeklong trip and on the second day, the entire sewing around one shoe Popped open, with all the threads snapped off short. The other shoe had started to snap off, too. A shoe repair shop said the Little Boot repair had sanded the threads during the resoling and they should redo them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I returned, Fernando and I respectfully disagreed about whether he had caused the separation, but he generously agreed to resew them at no charge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I picked them up today, and he still did not charge me. He is still assertively claiming he did not cause the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am not persuaded either way. However, my soft, flexible shoes are not minimal any more. I had used their service for years, & recommended them too, but sadly now I will not return. The last repair they did for me didn't hold (a tall boot zipper) -- ok, that can happen -- but the woman at the front, (apparently, according to her own statement, the owner) was appallingly rude. It took me months to go back, admittedly -- (life/work are busy!) -- but as the zipper hadn't held from practically day one, I had kept the receipt and finally did go back. She was abusive and hostile about it. It seemed to enrage her that I hadn't come back in so long. Consequently, I told her I would post a review about her attitude -- not about the work, which is generally fine, but her nastiness. The two stars are for the cobbler's work, which is efficient generally-speaking. However, why should one need to put up with open hostility at their reception? I've lived all over the world, & generally in CO people aren't rude to their customers, as can happen other places. A pity, as the man in back/the cobbler, seems to know his "craft", and is friendly/courteous enough. However, she's lost them my business. I searched wide and far to find a Colorado specialist that could build-up a running shoe for me. I dropped the shoe off, they told me what date the work was scheduled for, and the day after that date I heard from them that they had some questions and felt they wouldn't be able to do what I'd asked. We talked it over and I agreed to pay for what they could do, once I'd seen it we could discuss what changes would be needed. A couple of days later I got a call the shoe was ready, I collected them and was shown pictures on how they'd achieved the build-up. The shoe is fantastic, and seems to be holding up well. I walked in asking if they could polish my boots quickly. The "lady" does a claim ticket and says they will he ready tomorrow. I tell her I was hoping they would be done today. She then proceeds to argue with me and asks why I didnt say that in the first place. I tell her I will go somewhere else due to her attitude. She goes "go ahead and don't come back." She is a miserable little troll. I hope she knows that I work for a place where people wear a lot of boots. Our favorite cobblers (Perry's) moved to the mountains and the process for working with them became extremely inconvenient...so, we were (initially) very excited to learn of the Little Boot which is on our regular weekend route in Longmont. In hindsight, our first visit to the shop should have been a clue - yikes what a mess the place was - boxes overflowing with shoes, boots, etc. all of the place - even obstructing the entryway into the shop. But, sadly, we took the chance to have them put new heels on my favorite Birkenstocks. They guy who greeted us was friendly enough...but, what he stated he would do...and what was actually done are two worlds apart. The shop was still a mess when we returned a week later (nothing has changed)...and the workmanship on my favorite Birkies was sloppy with gaps between where the heel was applied and the rest of the sole of the shoe with white glue marks everywhere. Edges on the heel were jagged and not trimmed properly. Cost over $40...and am now not even sure if or how long the new heels with last. We will never use Little Boot of Longmont, CO again!! read more

Its not possible in my opinion to have such amazing reviews and yet have someone working for you or worse- someone who owns the business- to care so little about it. To me, customer service is critical part of a "great" business warranting a 5-star review. Called here to ask a question and the lady didn't have any answers and could care less. Really lame. I hate this guy. He had his shop previously in laffeyete. I dropped off my very expensive shoes for them to be fixed, he said they would be done by Friday. So I went to that shop within their hours on Friday and nobody was there. Called on Monday and went after nobody picked up and nobody was there next day same thing and did that everyday for a week, spamming their phone with calls. My mom went today and saw somebody inside and pounded the door down and the people said that he had scammed them and ran off with their equipment and customers shoes. He then went to this shop. I picked up the shoes and he proceeds to asks me wheres my ticket after I threw it away because I thought I had lost the shoes and was scammed. The shoes I needed repaired were a pair of yeezys, he sewed through the bottom of the sole and glued them and burnt the shoe practically ruining the shoes. Please please please do not give this guy any business and I can't wait till this shop gets closed down and this guy is on the street. read more

They did an awesome job resoling my great grandfathers cowboy boots. The leather soles had worn completely through and I had resorted to glueing them back together. I wasn't certain that the boots were salvageable but held on to the hope of preserving the boots and the memories. I really can'y understand all the 5 star ratings here, sure they seem like nice people and maybe they have friends write reviews. I have used many shoe repair places over the years and this one ranks last. I've used them twice and both times I couldn't see the difference in our shoes from when I dropped them off and when I picked them up. Still dull and hazy looking. Only the second time I brought 7 pairs of my wife's shoes and only picked up 6. And this was 2 weeks after they promised them and to this day I never got a call back with them saying they found the missing pair!!! (3 months now). There used to be a nice place a couple miles north of them that two ladies ran, it was awesome but they are no longer there. That's how a ended up at this mess of a shop. Looks like I'll have to find another shop, one that doesn't do a mediocre shine and repair and loose shoes! I hate giving bad reviews but I am beside myself with this shop and had to counter all the odd 5 star reviews. read more

While I have experienced some ridiculous situations at businesses, this will be the first that I have felt has warranted a Yelp review. For years my mother and I have been using Little Boot, probably upwards of 20 pairs of our shoes have been repaired at the store. Other than a few minor quality differences, the craftsmanship and skill shown here is great. However, their sporadic, inconsistent hours has lead to an absurd lack of communication. Last Friday afternoon, probably about 30 minutes to close my mother called to check if she could come and pick up a pair of boots, as she was not sure she would make it in time. The owner then said she could come whenever the following week (not "how quick would you be able to make it today?"), as she was going out of town. The boot pickup was then delegated to me, who has now only been informed of a pair of boots that need to be picked up. But as I go to make the ~20 minute drive, I notice the ticket says they won't be ready until the upcoming Friday. Wanting to double check and not waste either their or my own time, I was received with an annoyance and a complete lack of communication from the woman who answered the phone. After calmly clarifying multiple times that it wasn't myself who had called last week, I was only looking to confirm if the boots were ready. After cutting me off and not answering my question multiple times, I got quite frustrated and, of course, more forcefully asked again if she could just confirm. At which point she hung up. So I make the drive, regretting calling in the first place knowing that this woman has shown this rude behavior prior. Once arriving at the store, the boots just so happened to be right at the front of the counter! So I, maybe a little sarcastically, asked why she couldn't have just confirmed on the phone. At this point, the owner comes to....diffuse? He mostly just shrugged as I explained my frustrations with both the process and his employee, as I felt it was a very simple request from the business that has now escalated far beyond what I had hoped. The woman keeps being rude and cutting me off, seriously causing a scene that is inappropriate both for a business and for being in public. Perhaps I may be of unpopular opinion here, but I felt that it was a part of their job and the service they provided, and that I have paid A LOT of money for over the years, to simply confirm before I made the drive. After feeling like I had concluded why I was a little frustrated with the situation and am walking out the door, the woman makes yet another rude comment to me. This ended up being the cherry on top that has driven me to write this review as I sit in my car and stare at the pair of heels I now need to find a new shoe cobbler for. read more

He came up with a simple and elegant solution. Told me they would be finished next week. I called today on a lark, just to see, and they were done! I was very disappointed in this shop. I brought in a leather coat which needed (1) of the belt loops stitched. I went to pick it up about (10) days after the date on my pick up slip. When I went in and gave them my receipt they could not find it and asked if I could come back. They had piles and piles of shoes and boots and a few coats laying in the front room and asked me if I saw the coat. I did not. Another employee came in and was able to locate the coat but the belt loop had not been sewn. They asked me if I wanted to wait and I said "yes". The employee stitched the loop, I paid for the work and left. I will not use this place again. Hard to believe a service that took less than (5) minutes wasn't completed in over (2) weeks.
