Drove from foco to come look at their shoe selection as it was referred to us by some local climbers. They have a cute little shop with a fairly good selection. The staff was friendly and spent a lot of time with us as we went to make a selection on shoes. Prices are that to what you would see online. They did answer all of our questions. I am not sure if I would drive again from foco to Boulder but if I lived in the area i would definitely shop there again in future. read more

I dropped off a pair of approach shoes for a resole and sewing work on the lining May 4. They gave me an estimate pickup date of 5 weeks. I called at the end of June to see how the progress was going- I understand work can get backed up so I just wanted to check in. They told me they would be done in ten days and they would call me. By the end of July I didn't hear from them so I called again and was told the shoes were done and ready for pickup. I live in Estes Park so had to drive down to get them and when I did they were not done. The resole was done but not the sewing of the lining. Since it had taken so long and I wasn't getting correct information about the status of the shoes I just took them with me am still looking for someone else to complete the work. The staff was nice but I'm really disappointed in my experience here. read more

My most recent experience was so bad I'd be a fool to to back: I sent my Miuras in at the first hint of resole needed, waited the requisite 8 weeks for them to take a look and they said "can't resole - too many resoles". Huh? They'd been resoled just once (by RnR). Ok I said, send them back and I'll use them as gym shoes: "we put them threw the grinder - they aren't climbable any more". Um so I waited 8 weeks for these guys to trash my shoes? Wtf. I wrote a note back with my story, thinking they'd want to improve things in the future. No response. This company is completely unreliable. Sometimes they take three weeks to repair your shoes and sometimes they take months. In addition they do not honor their hours. I drove from Denver in order to drop off shoes and I was here within their open hours and called the phone number and someone answered and even though I could see them inside said that they were closed for the night and they would not of them. The hours on their door said they were closing in one hour and five minutes, but he claimed that their winter hours of the clones an hour earlier. When I pointed out that that still is closing early, he Unapologetically said well, we are closed" If anyone is willing to open up a competitive show up in the Denver area I would be thrilled to be an investor read more

So I had my solutions resoled with R&R once, and they did a great job! I climbed in them for a few months and then was in need of another resole, making sure that I didn't climb on the sole until it was too thin. They were resoled again and shipped back to me, easy! So why the 1 star review? I climbed in these shoes about 10 times since receiving them back, when I noticed a small patch of fabric through my rand. It was then that I realized just how thin my rand was. I climb three times a week and this happened beginning of October after receiving the shoes at the very end of August, so this was not from me climbing in them since the resole. I looked at my soles, and they were nowhere close to be worn thin... R&R says that they will replace the rands when they need it, unless you request not to. I didn't ask either way, expecting them to use their expertise. However, they failed to do so and now I have two shoes with almost no rand but great soles. Thinking that their customer service would help me figure this out, I reached out to them. It took about a week to get a reply, to which they just asked for photos. I sent them photos back...no reply. I sent another email, then they replied saying my shoes needed a resole and that they would not charge me for ONE of the rands. Unbelievable. They are trying to get me to pay shipping twice again ($20), resole both shoes ($40), and replace the rand on one shoe ($15) all because of their mistake. I emailed them back trying to get them to see this problem from my perspective 5 days ago, and since have received no response whatsoever. I am very disappointed and really hope that someone at R&R can make this right. read more

Honestly after many years of sending my shoes into Rock N Rosole... I'm over it. Don't bring it here any more. The quality of workmanship has gone down. Also trying to always upsell you by always adding toecaps even when you don't really need it. I had my last and final resole here not too long ago and only after 3 days of climbing, my sole started to peel. I tried contacting them but they ignored me. If you want to pay over 65$ for a resole, go ahead. Otherwise I recommend going somewhere else or buying a new pair of shoes. read more

Solid people running an honest business. I had already paid the $55 deposit and mailed my shoes. They called and told me there are indications that my shoes may have leather rot and that I can still choose to resole them but they may be trashed if there is rot. I told them just to send them back and I'll climb them until I can't, but please still fix the pull strap. They refunded my $55, charged me a few bucks to restitch the strap and sent them back to me. I'm impressed because many businesses would have kept the $55 not caring about the outcome of the rot after I received them. They lost money to prioritize honesty. Worst customer service ever! For a repair they said it will be ready in month. After a month I called up to hear if it's ready or not. The lady at the reception in an assertive tone said they have gave me from 4 to 5 weeks and it's still ok if they would give me the shoes next week. Nest day I had a text the shoes are ready. Wen got there to pick up, they said I have to pay another $24 for repairing the toes, which was completely unnecessary cause the tips were not worn and only the right sole sole was barely worn near the toe. They actually asked me at the beginning if I wanted to repair toes as well and I said no need! To my kind request to contact me know before they do an extra service which was not agreed the lady was again attacking in a an assertive manner. read more

I don't have time to write reviews, as I am a very rich business man. I look forward to climbing after a long day making serious cash. I bike to my local mountain (I'm in Florida, so that's road ramp foundations, trees and gym walls, and office building facades). I really like the shoes I have. La Sportiva Blah blah blahs. It took me 10 climbs or so until they wore in. After like 5 million climbs, they wore out at the rand and sole. I am very rich, as I stated earlier, and could have just bought like 45 pairs, as I have dumb amounts of disposable cash, but those fit REALLY sexy perfect! So I sent them away to R&R. I never received an email that they even received them (made me bite my man manicures, covered in $275.00 of protein collagen strengthener or something)(You dudes should have sent out an email like "Buddy, we got them". 2 seconds it would have took). I was very worried by the 13th day, and was more worried they have no way to get email. WTH? On the 14th day after I sent them, I received them after coming home from a long day of making money, there she was, The USPS box outside my door! When I'm not making tons of ridiculous amount of dollars trading currencies, I'm cycling and climbing in South Florida. I've since put 10 or so climbs on these puppies and I'm very impressed. What impressed me was the craft and workmanship, and the fact that they did in fact feel EXACTELY like they did before. Hence, this review. PS, at first I was going to see how they resoled my shoes, then copy that the next time. I was actually going to resole them myself next time. Like a commoner. Dropped a pair of Katana's in here for repair. I had waited far too long to have them resoled and had since blown through both toe boxes and done some damage to the leather. Luckily Rock and Resole exists! After the obligatory lecture from the folks here about not trashing my shoes, they told me they could most likely repair them for a smidge more than they normally charge. Which was still reasonable amount! A week later picked them up and was impressed with the workmanship. The rubber soles were repaired well, the toes were also fixed good as new. The quality of the seam between the old rubber and new was high quality as well. After climbing on them for two full sessions now, I can say I think they will hold up well and the rubber they used was top notch, smears well and climbs great. read more

I have used the Rubber Room for years to resole my shoes. But their turn-around time is 5 weeks and I couldn't wait that long. Other resolers had limited rubber options. Rock and Resole had the options I wanted. I contacted them via email. They responded immediately and were extremely cooperative. I sent my shoes and then emailed them when tracking showed the shoes had arrived at the shop. They pulled my shoes out of the pile and had them resoled and back in the mail in 2 days. I wore them today, about a week from when I sent them. The soles are great and climb better than the originals (Katanas). I will recommend Rock and Resole to everyone. read more

To: Rock and Resole What sort of business does not have contact info on their website. They must be scared of their feedback. Because the do a sub par job. We just had 5 pairs of shoes resoled by Rock and Resole. Great turn around time, Just under two weeks. And they stock La Sportiva XS Edge. Thanks. You came very highly recommended. Here is the issue. I asked for down turn on all shoes. This was not done. I don't want non down turned shoes. They do me no good where I climb. So now I have some shoes with brand new rubber that are useless. If you couldn't down turn them call me. I'll get another company that I have had great experience with to do it. Second. The rands you put on are a hack job. You really cut just the tip of the rand and glue on a little patch. That is NOT top of the line industry standard for rand replacement. I could see if it was a discount job but it was not. Ill be pissed if I they peel off or I find that the leather is cut under the rand too. Three. The edge of the sole does not match up nice and square with side of the shoe. This is a major issue. If I cant edge REALLY well than the shoe becomes useless. Four. This is not my first time having my shoes resoled. The company before did a nice job on the sole and left a nice crisp seam where the front sole was replaced. Instead of using that seam to replace the sole your resole tech decided to use one inch less rubber. Now I have two seams. The new one being one inch closer to where rubber meets rock. it just does not make sense. now there is a one inch strip in the ball of my foot. I'm thinking its going to delaminate. I'm lucky enough to live right down the street - walking distance, but I'm lazy so I ride my bike. Unfortunately, unlike the millionaire Big M here, I don't climb every day (you should read that review!), but finally did wear my edges down without wearing through parts I shouldn't. Had a pair of Katanas and TC Pros resoled, C4 and Onyx were my choices for new rubber. I haven't climbed in them yet, especially since we are in the middle of a biblical rainstorm and the city is half underwater. I was pretty happy with how the workmanship looked and was especially happy that the loose flaps of rubber on my TCs were glued back down as part of the repair. Turnaround was 2-days and they were ready when they said they would be. For those of you mailing things in - they always have piles of boxes on the counter there when I go in. They aren't slacking off, drinking coffee/beer and flirting with the cute climber girls dropping off their shoes (ok, maybe they are, I hope they are). Anyways, they are really busy there, but focused on getting shoes done. They minimally greet me as I walk in the door - they clearly want to be getting work done, not writing order tickets and chatting with me - I'm ok with that, I didn't have anything that interesting to say, except a curiosity about whether they'd apprentice me for a month. ;) My advice, give them a try! Side note - the sign in the door (or was it the website?) says that they are no longer resoling hiking books - it's clear that they have enough climbing shoe business! read more

Second time I walked in under the current ownership and walk out upset. Service is unfriendly if not to say non-existing. Don't like the attitude of the young owner who tries to make you feel bad that he "has to resole my shoes while I am climbing". Don't like the 4 week turnaround time which is double what it used to be. Don't like that you now have to pay a "deposit" - why not call it what it is, ie pay in advance. I am done with this business. I'll plan to go to Komito in Estes Park for my next resole. They have long enough hours that you can drop the shoes off after a day at Lumpy or you mail them in. read more

Pros: fast, cheap Cons: the adhesive they used created a tar-like secretion that occurred every time I began to sweat in the shoes, I didn't receive the services for which I paid, upon requesting that the job be finished I was greeted by a combative attitude from the employees. I can't speak much on the service of having my shoe's resoled. I was called 5 weeks after dropping off my shoes to be told they couldn't be resoled. My issue is less with the decision to not resole them (shit happens) but rather the experience. When I dropped them off, I was told it would be no problem, and then over a month later, I was told it wasn't possible, leaving me without my primary shoe for way more time than desired, only to have to buy brand new ones. I wish they had told me faster, perhaps within a week or so. read more

so you get into rock climbing buy yourself some $130 or so rock shoes and climb your little heart out. one day you see some wear on those ohh so expensive slippers! you keep an eye on it and of course it gets worse and worse. i mean your standing on dime edges, scuffing and cussing your way up some ridiculous climb when you could be at home in bed. theres a damn hole starting to get bigger and bigger. you cant climb w your big toe sticking out of the damn thing and you dont want to buy another pair-they were 130 frickin dollars! plus you need them what the hell else are you going to climb in? rock and resole is your little shoe savior. they are one of the few authorized resolers in the country. this means they will replace the rubber on your tired old stankass shoe w the same rubber it came w brand new. they can even switch the rubber cuz you have la sportivas and you like 5.10 better. theres also a two day turnaround. drop em off and get em back in two days! hell you can even ship them they'll resole them and send them back in under a week.they put a new toe cap and new rubber on my shoes for 45 bucks. the shop is a cool little place tucked into a warehouse in boulder the service is great. it has an old world feel to it kinda like gepetto working on pinocchio. rubber shavings on the floor, aprons, and two cute ass little daschunds running around. if you dont rock climb then your not up shit creek rock and resole can resole your hiking shoes and boots too. if your dogs is barkin give em a try! read more

Recently, I screwed up by dropping off two right shoes from separate pairs (my resole pair and current pair). A couple days later I realized my mistake and was pretty annoyed with myself. New resole of La Sportiva Muira at R&R... Climbing 3 days/week, gym only. They lasted 2 month! At $40 per resole, in 6 months, I could've bought a brand new pair that would've lasted more than 2 months. Unless R&R are willing to do a better job, I'm not going back. read more

I sent in 2 pairs of mythos and received them back in less than 9 days (although the box looked like someone had played soccer with it). One pair of shoes had been resoled once and so when they took off the rubber, it was clear that the leather was done for. So, they didn't fix those and added a note explaining the problem (although it was just a post-it and I didn't see it at first). The second pair they repaired to a state that feels good as new. Edges are sharp, the shape is in tact, the rands nicely repaired and the joints nicely blended with the old rubber. Very high quality work compared to the other resole jobs from other vendors that I'd had in the past were someone had deformed the shoe from its original shape. read more

Rock & Resole is great! My husband and I have been sending our La Sportiva Mythos for resoling for a few years now. After half-resoling the shoes generally last about as long as the initial rubber, though I usually start to run into other problems after one resoling so I don't do it more than once (the leather wears out, etc., or the shoes just get too gross). Considering the price differential between resoling (even if they do require new rands) and buying new shoes, this is definitely a no-brainer. read more

Two month update, as promised: As I mentioned in my previous post, my Rock and Resole-repaired shoes didn't last me two months after just climbing. I sent my shoes to Evolv (Yosemite Bum) instead and got a new resole job. I swore that if in 2 months, I was down to the rands again I'd remove my negative post about R&R. Guess what: I'm not taking down this post. The Evolv-resole has survived not only the 2 month gym climbing litmus test, but have also been used extensively outdoors. No rands in sight. Great resole job on my la sportiva futuras. I'm knocking off a star because of the month it took to get my shoes back. I sent the shoes beginning of April and got them back approximately a month later. They did the no edge resole which cost a bit more but they feel like brand new again. I'd definitely use their service again in a heartbeat. Just make sure you have other shoes in your rotation because it does take quite a bit of time. read more
