One of my favorite restaurants when I come to visit! I love the stuffed sopapillas with beef and red.

We ordered to go, I got put on hold for 13 min to find out the girl forgot about me. The young man who took over read my order which stated onion Allergy. Food was picked up and brought to me... full of onions(what I'm allergic to). Called to complain and got put in hold for 10 min had to keep calling back. Hopefully I can get a refund. read more

The red and green chile were awesome. The green had a little bit of bite which I like. The beans and rice were on point as usual. The shredded beef was perfect. The sopapilla not so much very small. But that's all I needed LOL. The service was excellent as always! The staff constantly checks on you and ask you if you need anything. And they always have a smile and very friendly which is very rare nowadays., it was a Friday at lunch time so they do get pretty busy. I will definitely go back. Best huevos rancheros in town. Other dishes are pretty good as well. Be warned--they are no longer open on Sundays.

Wasn't that good was expecting a lot more than then it should be also the other restaurants of this place are way better than a lot more nicer. Comes to customer service I think honestly did not give no tip. Food was all right not the greatest. I had better. I understand. It's a smaller location on understand it's only open certain times, but I shouldn't be giving certain people a certain menu and also could've been way way. Better service usually, I'm not like this but today I am because you know, I spent $22 for one and a green chili enchilada that was really cold. Yesterday was a family get together breakfast at Little Anita's. Six of us had no problem getting a table at this restaurant, actually we had the entire back room to ourselves. The restaurant was clean and we received a warm welcome. The drink orders were quickly taken (5 waters 1 coffee)! Minutes later our friendly and attentive waiter (1 star) was taking our orders. The order was not difficult, 5 huevos rancheros (the breakfast special) at $8.95. Then it was my time to order. So, besides the only one to order coffee, my food was not "the special." I do not eat Eggs, eew gross! If I can see or taste them, it's over!! Anyway, I ordered crispy hash browns, crispy bacon, toast & a side of green chile. First, each and every dish of huevos was gobbled down with enthusiasm, not a drop left anywhere! Deserving 2 more stars!! Sorry, I cannot say the same for my dish. Rather than crispy hash browns on the outside and soft fluffy potatoes inside, for the first time in many many years of ordering this item, the chef took a handful of shredded potatoes and put them in a deep fryer. Inedible with a fork without breaking into dusty crumbs, it was hilarious, and the other family members chimed in saying "you got what you ordered." Enough said! read more

As we have been here quite a few times we always love the food, service and the ambiance. It is always busy which can be a pain sometimes as we can't wait to get a table to eat their fabulous food. The people that work at this location are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We have been to other locations that are just as good. read more

Little Anita's makes great green chili chicken enchiladas. The sopapillias are very good too! We had a quick-stop in Albuquerque for breakfast, and I wanted to go to Little Anitas after years away - SO glad we did! The staff was very fun and helpful, and the Grande Breakfast Burrito smothered in fresh green chile was to die for!! Definitely a great choice during our road trip. read more

What Happened to Little Anita's??? We ordered 2 dozen taquitos (1 Beef, 1Chicken) To go after our soccer games yesterday and when we got home we had Potato Taquitos with a little bit of Beef or Chicken and Red Water for Salsa!! We were Sssoooo disappointed, Little Anita's has always been a Go-To if you wanted a taste of Mexico on the go but not any more, at least not at the Los Ranchos location! Perfect place for breakfast!! Their breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros are to die for! And, of course, you can get red and green chili on everything. Nice little place! Peaceful and chill on weekday mornings. Much more happening crowd on Saturday mornings! The wait staff are always wonderful! They have take out tacos on Tuesday evenings for only .99 each! Stopped in on a busy Wednesday morning for a sit down breakfast. Ordered a breakfast Ranchero skillet and enjoyed the tasty chips and salsa while we waited. Food was out lightning fast. I was visiting from California and wanted to try the sapapillas at this place. The food was good but what really bothered me was the rude ass servers here. From the moment we got there, we were not greeted with a smile; which I think it's very important for any business. Anyway, we got our drinks with no straws and then it felt like I was bothering them when I asked for freaking straws. They don't even look at you when you're talking to them; my waiter was looking and cleaning other tables when I was asking him question. The list goes on but it's too much to write it all. If zero stars were an option, I would use it for this review. We ordered 4 breakfast burritos through DoorDash. Two of them were supposed to be smothered. It costs us $50 and none of the burritos were smothered. When we called Little Anita's to try to rectify the order, Jennifer made it clear they did not care and she didn't care what we told her manager. Went to lunch today 3/10 THE GOOD: Busy, but seated quickly. Drinks and menus came fast. The chips and salsa are complimentary, and both are excellent. The queso is to die for and may be the best in ABQ. The serving size is very generous, and the heat and flavor profile are great! One person loved the eggs and chorizo, another was very happy with a salad with chicken. Both servings were generous. Drinks were never empty. That's where the good ends. THE BAD: One plate was cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans, with green chile on the side. The chile tasted like nothing alt all, just wet. Evidently the enchiladas (rolled) had been microwaved to the point that they were literally glued to the plate. It took a knife and fork to pry them loose, and they were so tough they were almost impossible to eat. The beans would have been OK, but they were stone cold. The rice was inedible as half of the grains showed no sign of cooking at all. It was impossible to eat. I'm sure they would have made it right, but our time was too short to consider sending it back. One other downside are the many really unfriendly signs in the entry area. The really offensive one is their refusal to refuse service to anyone notification. Will we go back? Probably, because we have enjoyed it here before, but we won't hurry to return. read more

Carry out isn't worth it at this location (any location except 4th street, really). They always "forget" to put items in or they completely mess up the order. Today, I ordered a vegetarian enchilada, a taco plate, and a bean/cheese burrito. I got a small mushroom enchilada--with very few mushrooms and a little bit of cheese and a whole lot of red chile, a very small bean/burrito plate, and no taco plate. When I called to let them know I was missing the taco plate, they gave some excuse about me not ordering one, but the dollar amount on my credit card receipt (the only receipt they gave me) prices otherwise. I drove back to get my taco plate, I was given a dozen over-fries (burned!) taquitos. Instead of trying to correct the mistake, I accepted the fact that customer service wasn't on the menu at this location. read more

Hubby and I have eaten here several times recently, and it has jumped to the top of our list for Mexican/New Mexican food. I wish I could say the same for the service, but more on that later. Every time we walk in, the host/server lets us choose our own table, immediately brings chips and salsa, and takes our drink and dinner orders. We can usually count on NOT being able to finish the chips before dinner arrives--they are definitely quick in their kitchen. I've not had any occasion to complain about the food, except the tamales. It seems that there are a lot of tamale makers around who like to make the things with a 1/2" layer of masa and about 1/2" or less of filling. Tamales, to me, should be mostly filling and less masa--just enough masa to hold the filling together! I told our waiter one time that the tamales were too heavy with masa---I haven't tried them again to see if my opinion mattered. The sopapillas are always hot when we get them (they are obviously prepared fresh for each patron or party); the beans are the best I have tasted recently; the chicken burrito is TO. DIE. FOR. My only gripe is that the salsa seems to be prepared to suit the palate of someone with an asbestos tongue. I really really wish that restaurateurs wouldn't try to burn the taste buds off our tongues with their fiery hot salsas and chiles--the taste of the food is more important than the hotness. As far as the service is concerned, all of the male servers in the place are just dandy--quick to come back to ask about the food and see if there is anything we need--take dirty dishes away promptly--bring "go" cups when asked. Unfortunately, they have a young lady at this location who doesn't seem to want to do her job. I waited nearly 10 minutes one day for a "go" cup and, finally, had to go to the cashier's desk and get a cup from the man who waited on us. She moves like she is about 83 years old--and she can't be more than 25, at the most. The prices here are about half-a-dollar less than the same items at the Menaul location--I don't know why and I don't care. For the difference in the quality of the food and the distance from my house, I'll stick with this location. They are even better than the quickie place in Rio Rancho which is housed in a former Sonic. I'll be back. My main gripe is that the place seems somewhat dated, although I do love the chairs. read more

I remember when this place was actually "little!" Now they are popping up everywhere and rightfully so. Good red chile, arguably some of the best in the city. The Ranchero Skillet is my old reliable with papitas instead of hash browns - red and green chile, with chorizo. If you have never been to Little Anita's or Albuquerque for that matter, none of that made a lick of sense, but if you go, trust me and order it. I just wish I could hear you try to pronounce it. This location has a take-out side which is convenient if you are ordering a burrito on the run. Otherwise, wait times can be lengthy on weekends. Go during the week when it is more low-key. The service here was AWFUL for the longest time... Truly bottom of the barrel, but enough people must have complained because it seems to be getting a little better. Imagine this: we got there once at 12:00, waited 40 minutes for a table, another 10 minutes for our server and then tried to order breakfast but were told they don't serve breakfast after 1. (You can do the math, it was 12:50 and we were told their computers clock is 10 minutes fast... WTF?!?) As I mentioned, though, service seems to be getting better. Their old town location is historic and has a little bar so margarita's are an option. Big plus. Consistently good, but if you have a choice, go to Monroe's instead. read more
