Been to Litchfield's many times. Food is so-so. However, they cannot accommodate a couple families staying at the resort. Staying at resort and have to leave for dinner because they want to do a limit menu and premium pricing to accommodate more than 10 people. Yet, the restaurant is always dead. What a great, grand, and wonderful place! Not long ago it was ok to showcase Indian (Native American) culture. Not only did the native people themselves not mind it, but nobody else did either. Indians were part of America's history, even though much of it was less than kind. In any case, it filled locations in Arizona- and much of the West- with a rich and undeniable heritage. The Wigwam Resort was one of those places. Beginning in the very early 1900's, the Wigwam became a cowboy oasis in The Valley of the Sun. It was a throwback to the old west, cowboys, Saguaros, and obviously, Indian culture. It's very name is based on native dwellings. So that brings us to the restaurant itself. Because the Wigwam has over a hundred years of history, the restaurant- and the entire resort- is filled with amazing and palpable history. Think of the people who walked those grand halls that lead to Litchfield's Restaurant. The presidents, movie stars, military men, actresses, dignitaries, and regular ol' folks. The walls are lined with the photographs from an era of opulence and desert grandeur. The restaurant has an open-fire grill, wood-fire oven, and fireplace that date to the 20's. The ceilings are decorated with open-beam lodge poles and there are cow hides and Remington statues. It smells of mesquite and steaks and wine. The entire restaurant is a testament to great dining, history, and the legacy of 100 years in the Sonoran desert. Besides the atmosphere, the food is spectacular. The steaks are all to die for. Aged to perfection, marbled just enough, cooked over a 100 year old wood fire grill, and topped with the perfect spices and sauces. The dishes are hearty but delicate and sophisticated. Beet salad with mild, perfectly-cooked beets and topped with a beautiful dressing and interesting ingredients. A carbonara made with a mix of spaghetti squash and pasta, and adorned with tiny cubes of crisp apple. A ribeye that melts in your mouth. Bacon-wrapped dates that are sweet and savory. The entire menu changes seasonally, and every dish is a tasty, perfect combination of flavor and sophistication. Litchfield's is elegant but not fancy. It's a cowboy restaurant, albeit with white linens and scrumptious menu items. It's an old west dining hall with New York charm. Perfect for a date or a business meeting. And when you're done, walk the hallways and take in that cowboys-and Indian legacy. Drink it in and imagine what this resort was like in 1950 when Mickey Rooney and Ronald Reagan went for a swim and brought their dames to Litchfield's for the best steak around. Walk the lush grounds and smell the citrus blossoms in the spring time, then take in that dry, Sonoran sun as you sip a Roy Roger's on the patio and savor some of this restaurant's amazing appetizers. It's not cheap but not ridiculous either. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the West Valley. A really nice experience with great food and service in a historic old-west atmosphere. read more

First time at Litchfield's! Decided to surprise dad for his birthday and heard this was a great option for a more upscale restaurant in the West valley area (there aren't many options on this side of the 101). Located at the Wigwam resort, it was very easy to find and parking was ample. The space was a little confusing to get to (there was a private party in one spot and staff had to escort us to the actual dining area from the entrance to the restaurant). Seating was okay, but considering the menu and price point I expected at least a tablecloth. We were sat in one of the booths (seemed out of place, more like something you'd see in a diner), and sadly they weren't the most comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. The menu had great options and all of the food was excellent. The food definitely made up for the ambience/seating. If they updated the space, I'd definitely give them another try. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Litchfields. The server was genuine and efficient. At the end, he boxed all leftovers, even small amounts so we didn't waste. Highlights were the goose (reminscent of ham and poultry), lamb shank (generous portion with yummy butter beans), and moist salmon with searred walnuts. Side of large shrimp was also delicious. Cocktails were great but we didn't try many of the fancy ones. For dessert, we had a holiday sticky pudding that had great flavor but was on the small side. The delicious chocolate tiramisu was large enough to share and the apple pastry with ice cream was an appropriate size. There were many people on the outdoor patios with overhead heating lamps. Ambiance was very nice and we could watch the chefs at work because much of the kitchen is open to the restaurant. read more

Food was great, the prime rib was tender and juicy the salmon was good as well. Ambiance was nice. I read a lot of reviews saying the place has stunning views and a romantic feel. I think when it's darker at night we'll be back. Which brings us to the service. The hostess was friendly and so was our waitress. But the young man that served our drinks had no idea about the stunning views. He didn't know what to say. Could be his head was in the clouds or training issues. Our server Justin was amazing. So attentive and professional. Gorgeous atmosphere, inside and out. The butter flight was AWESOME (3 flavored butters and various breads.). Most in our family do not eat a lot of bread and ppl were fighting over this appetizer. My in laws loved the pork chop, my husbands filet was perfectly cooked and my salad was A+. My family and I dined at Litchfield's to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is really nice and we enjoyed the ambiance. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The issue was the food. Unfortunately, the food didn't taste good and was not up to par for a steakhouse. We were all very disappointed, especially since it's pricey. The ribeye was thin and had a lot of fat. My daughter's halibut wasn't very good and the lobster tails were okay. The best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes and the bread basket with the different flavors of butter. Walking through the resort to the restaurant was amazing. Beautiful grounds and we sat outside next to the outdoor fire place and the ambiance was just perfect. The butter fly bread appetizer was delicious. I had the pork chop and it was the most tender and juicy pork chop I've ever had! The sides were chose were mashed potatoes, cream corn and asparagus and everyone loved it all! The prime rib my husband had was phenomenal! Best steak ever! This was one of the worst "high end" meals we have ever eaten! It was very pricey! Higher than Ruth Chris prices. The 8oz Buffalo fillet was $65. My husband ordered his med rare. It came rare. It was not even warm and his $9 butter topping was not even melted. It was my bro in laws BD so his wife decided to go somewhere different. He also ordered the "raw" Buffalo filet. Neither could eat it. The kind waitress (best part of the evening) took them back to show the chef and had the steaks remade. The new ones came out the same, still really undercooked! The side, mac n cheese, that were supposedly enough to share with the whole table was very small. (Litterally like a cup size) wasn't good so didn't even finish it anyways! Absolutely the best place!! We love fine dining and seafood and have tried nearly all the places in the East valley, but just moved to Goodyear! Litchfields is one the best we've had anywhere!! We decided to come to this restaurant for my birthday. We've come before as a staycation at the resort which we've stayed at several times throughout the year. Both during winter and summer times as well as in the spring and the fall we always stay here because it's so close to home and we are able to have a great staycation at the resort. During which we visit the restaurant. But this was the first time we came to the restaurant without having to stay at the resort for the first time. It was actually really nice. Location was gorgeous and they even offer valet parking which is nice! The inside is very clean and charming. The only issue with the inside is it is next to a small bar area and people watching sports were a bit loud! The food was good they definitely try and use high end ingredients and spices. I do think they are alittle overpriced but I also understand who their target audience is and most of them don't care about price. The servers were all exceptional and I really liked the lamb chili, I also ordered the tomahawk for my bestfriend and a couple appetizers and they were all pretty good! The pork belly was amazing to bad it was just one small piece! Ultimately they get a 4 star because I do feel for what you get the price is just to high and they lose the ability for a lot of other people to enjoy their food. Our bill was over 400$ for 3 people and it wasn't like we ate a ton of food. But it was for a bday and I did like that they brought out a free desert for him. read more

The location and ambiance is nice and plays off of the elegance that is the Wigwam and the service is welcoming. The food and drink selection is simple but plentiful. The food is good but for the price you are paying you would expect to be amazed. My ribeye was cooked as orders but it was only inch thin at best and for $60+dollars you expect a thick cut steak. The gouda Mac was missing flavor and the noodles were hard but the butter cake was really good. This food is good but If you are looking for a high end meal that will amaze you I would suggest finding somewhere else to eat read more

Back another year later on a Friday night. We sat at the bar and around 5pm asked the hostess(es) for a table in the nearly-empty dining room. They seemed surprised and confused by the question. No, we had no reservation but it's early and there's tables everywhere. I asked them to sort it out and get us at the bar when they found one. They never showed up. 30 minutes later, with the restaurant still wide open we decided to eat at the bar. Good choice-we had a great time with the bartender, Jessica. Friendly! Her filet mignon with hericot verts over Gouda mac'n cheese was perfect, though more than six or seven noodles would better fit the idea of a serving. Roasted Brussels sprouts were just a bit overdone and overly salty. My ribeye over new potatoes was thin, too salty and disappointing. As was the dessert called "cheesecake". It looked great, but it was not. And not cheesecake either. Prices are ridiculous for the value received, but we like the place and will return. read more

Hmmmm, have to say so-so......for one thing, terrible signage, parked but had to ask several times for directions....through this building, past that bar....etc! I had lamb which was excellent, no mint jelly to be had, was told " we don't serve that any more, pretty old fashioned "....everything was extra, and very pricey! This place is a hidden west valley gem! We celebrated my father's bday and wanted to try something different than going to Scottsdale. We came across Litchfield's and it was hands down the best food I've had at a steakhouse in a while. We started with the bread basket and crab cake- both were phenomenal! We all ordered different entrees but what stood out to me was the steak. They grill it over pecan wood. Absolutely the best. Honorable mention goes to the crusted salmon. For sides we orders Mac and cheese, asparagus and creamed corn A+. The decor is very comforting but it does get a little loud in there due to the low ceiling. The only reason I rated a 4 star is because of server was just ok. She started off great but it all went downhill from there. She was very condescending and often times it felt like we were an annoyance to her. All in all I'll definitely be returning! read more

This restaurant is on the property of the Wigwam Resort which makes it very convenient. Although the bar and grill looked good, farm to table real good sounded like a better option It is pretty with a chill but upscale vibe. The service was very good. Tiana was our server and she was fantastic! I love that we didn't feel rushed. The food did not disappoint. The beet salad was the star. So fresh. The filed greens with cheese and pecans was also delicious and tasted as if it was just picked from the garden. The chicken with carrot mole melted in my mouth. The lemon meringue tart dessert was the cherry on top. It was beautiful- and tasty. I love that the chefs are in the main dining room. You can sit inside or outside. We had a wonderful dinner at Litchfield's! The atmosphere is lovely- fine dining and comfort, we felt at home with our children. Our hosts and servers were all really good. They greeted us, checked on us and were very accommodating which is critical when you are dining with children. Our kids colored, eat dinner and got ice cream for dessert. They loved Litchfield's. My husband and I enjoyed our entrees. We ordered the Salmon with a light cream sauce. And the Halibut which was delicious too. The resort is fabulous so if you get the opportunity just to walk through the resort and dine here, I highly recommend it the food is delicious, the servers are delightful, and the live music was wonderful, The ambience is high-end so make sure you're dressed up and ready for a romantic dinner! this restaurant was also catering to a couple festive groups that were celebrating the holiday, and the barkeepers were keeping up with the walk up traffic, as well as our local traffic sitting at the Barr! While staying with friends in Goodyear, we came here for dinner, as it seems to be popular with the locals. We were greeted immediately and by several we encountered as we walked to the hostess stand and everyone seemed friendly and sincere. Since we were the first to arrive when they opened, we could sit anywhere we wanted and chose an indoor table near their open kitchen, as we liked the view and smell of the wood grill there. Our server was friendly and helpful. They poured Aqua Panna water as their basic table water, which was awesome! Their prices are very reasonable and they have a nice menu, filled with many appetizing options. Their wine list is abundant and very nicely done as well, but I did notice some items on the Wig Wam Bar wine list were not on this wine list and our server explained that they don't crossover their wine selection from the bar to this restaurant. The ceviche was incredible! It was actually whole shrimp slice in half lengthwise and then marinated in the citrus and it came out perfectly prepared and tasted amazing with the accoutrement! Their table bread was nice and warm and came with a butter that was mixed with herbs and something that appeared to be like a goat cheese and it really tasted great together! The Little Gem Salad was outstanding! Very fresh and the combo of the blue cheese dressing under the salad with the Meyer Lemon olive oil drizzled on top really came together very nicely and tasted great! Their filet was large at 9oz and was prepared PERFECTLY! The flame kiss on it was outstanding! The green beans that came with it were very nicely seasoned with bacon and the mac & cheese that was underneath the filet was just as outstanding! The only food issues were the pumpkin risotto, which was slightly too sweet and the brussel sprouts (side dish) we ordered came out cold. We advised our server and they made a new, warm batch for us. We also asked (prior to ordering) is the shrimp "addition" for the entrée was grilled on that flame and she advised it was. But it clearly wasn't when we got it, it appeared to be pan sautéed (I also noticed as we walked out that they were sautéing other shrimp), which was disappointing, as we were looking forward to some flame kissed shrimp. The service was out of this world. Colleen was knowledgeable and attentive, definitely top tier in terms of service and friendliness. The pear margarita is a must try! We had the pork belly for an app: so tender and paired nicely with the sliced apples. We were so excited to visit Litchfield's based on the reviews and us staying at the wigmam. The hostess greeted us warmly and found us a table even though we did not have a reservation. The food service was slow, but acceptable and gave us time to talk and catch up. My daughter discovered a long black hair (not hers) in her entree and couldn't flag the waitress to let her know. That is what I mean by slow food service. Ultimately, it turned everyone off as we were concerned with more hairs in our food. We had the busboy take the food way. When we told the server, she simply shrugged and said "sorry". We asked for the bill and 10 minutes later were presented with the check. I noticed that in addition to charging us for the hairy entree, they also charged us an additional $78 for a bottle of wine that we never ordered. We had to wait another 10 minutes to flag the waitress to get this taken off the bill. We let the hostess know at the end and she offered only her apologies. No one cared. At a minimum, we should not have had to pay for the hairy meal. It's cheaper, better service AND better food to leave the resort, even by Uber (round trip) that to put up with the poor service, lack of professionalism, and empathy than to eat at Litchfield's. What a wonderful restaurant at The Wigwam! The resort itself is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Goodyear and the greater Phoenix area. The restaurant is hidden beyond the reception area and past Wigwam Bar. It took us awhile to find it, but the resort's staff kindly helped us locate the restaurant. We made a reservation and were promptly seated by the manager. The restaurant itself has a rustic yet upscale feel. There is an open kitchen, so you can see the chefs at work and smell delicious flavors, such as pecan wood. We ordered the following: - Cauliflower Steak: The cauliflower was more soft than charred or crispy, but it had a light smokey flavor. The red pepper coulis and smoked almonds were outstanding. The quinoa salad was also very fresh. - Salmon: The salmon was cooked a bit rare, but it was well seasoned. It was also served with a "meat crisp" on top of the fish. The beluga lentils were cooked well- even non-bean-eaters will enjoy them. - Chicken: The chicken was cooked well- juicy with slightly crispy skin. The carrot mole had the perfect combination of sweetness and smoke. - Grilled Asparagus: You can really taste the smoke and a nice lemon flavor. The asparagus were cooked perfectly and were one of our favorite items that we tried. We were celebrating a birthday, so we received a complimentary dessert and a hand-written card. We chose the raspberry sorbet, which came with fresh berries, mint, and crispy honeycomb. It was delicious! Overall, we were very impressed with Litchfield's and would return. read more
