A long time ago, I used to love their pizza's, nice thin crust (and I'm from Chicago). But once I tried their Italian Sub II, I haven't been able to order anything else. The 6 inch is pretty large, and the bread is amazing! Crunchy exterior, nice chewy interior, perfectly seasoned oil & vinegar dressing with prosciutto, ham & Genoa with provolone. I mean...what can I say. We ordered about 10 pizzas for the office, along with breadsticks and some a cheese/meat plate. The first thing I tried was the breadstick...tasted like actual play-doh. Salad was wrong, careful order, read back, still wrong. Carbonara was unbelievable, few strips of bacon, on tasteless noodles (lots of tasteless noodles). Couldn't eat it. I've lived in McLean my whole life, never moved, and I think I've eaten here about ten times. The food is okay, the Italian Deli two doors down is MUCH better though. The food here is bland with not much flavor and the pizza actually resembles rubber. The french fries are amazing though. But the main reason why I give Listrani's such a low rating is the SERVICE. Mainly the girl who works the cashier, she is AWFUL. She has treated me with some of the worst customer service i've ever experienced. And if I had done something wrong to piss her off first then I wouldn't be writing this. For example, one time I ordered delivery from there and she took my order over the phone. All 3 dishes came completely wrong, and I called her and asked her to send the right order and she began screaming at me over the phone and told me "to get my facts straight and stop trying to get free food". She was so awful that I actually told her not to correct the order because i was afraid she would do something awful to my food. Pizza was delivered over an hour late, and was cold. It was also sloppily prepared, with some slices having meat on them and others not. The only positive thing I can say for them is that they offer some interesting choices of pizza. Maybe if they had been hot and delivered on time they would have been good. Listrani's has unbelievable customer service!!. I called them in a panic today because my caterer (don't EVER use Panera) dropped the ball and never delivered a big order I placed a week ago. I called Listrani's and they were like, "please don't worry, we'll take care of this for you" they helped me pull together a really great spread, added all the side fixin's and had the order delivered in 30 mins! I couldn't believe it. My starving team was thrilled and Listrani's did a magnificent job on the food, the delivery and most of all, their exemplary customer service. Called, received a half ass apology and no offer to comp even though it'd be another 20 minutes. We asked to just cancel the order but they refused and said they can't refund our money because we ordered through grub hub . I use grub hub at least once a week and I have had restaurants proactively refund money through grub hub and was notified immediately. We order pretty regularly from Listrani's. They have the best pizza and subs in town. It's true though their consistency could stand a little beefing up, but when I look at the other miserable options for Italian take out around here there doesn't need to be much discussion.. I've ordered and enjoyed the pesto, garlic,chicken, artichoke and sun-dried tomato pizza. (There's a name for that), also like the smokehouse pizza, but pretty salty. The Italian Sub number 1 is so good I can't order another type of sub. The dinners are good too, favs being fettucine carbonara, lemon chicken penna (loaded with great veggies and very lemony though less oil would make me happy), I also like the veal piccata. Fries are steakhouse style, onion rings are pretty good. Got calamari recently which arrived as tiny, burned greasy rings. Tried the fillet mignon caesar. The meat was ok, not the best but complaint was using the outer leaves only of the romaine and there didn't seem to be any anchovy paste in the dressing nor were there any fillets. Not a caesar to me. I can also say I can't recall them forgetting an item or bringing me the wrong thing which is impressive for a carryout run by immigrants taking orders over the phone. read more

What a great deli in McLean! We order from Listrani's at least once a week. Delivery is always fast and pleasant. The owners are a dream to deal with if you need to. We usually order an array of food, pop some items in the frig. and munch on it for a few days after. My favorites are the California Cobb salad (I throw in a little crisp bacon) and the Italian deli salad. For sandwiches, we usually order the Italian sub no. 2 or no 3. My daughter likes the no. 3 because it does not have prosciutto on it (I, however, love prosciutto). I order the subs with extra oil and banana peppers. Pizza, when we order it/ is thin crust with pepperoni, sausage, and feta cheese. The pasta dishes are also xlnt. We order the turkey tetrazzini, pesto specialty pasta, penne with baked cheese on top. My husband likes the cheesesteak with all the trimmings. Their famous lasagna is also wonderful. We haven't used Listrani's for catering yet but will. The owners are also very nice. Last week I was focusing on a sick child and called the restaurant to say that the sandwiches weren't right - they had hot red peppers on them - and my sick daughter couldn't eat them. Even though the order was my fault because I guess I had not written down "banana" peppers, Listrani's immediately took responsibility and sent out two new long sub with the right peppers. OMG VOMIT EVERYWHERE. This place is absolutely REVOLTING and (to add insult to injury) OVERPRICED. The pasta dishes are simply boiled with no flavor/seasoning added. The chicken in the "Chicken Piccata al limone" was some rib meat, purdue on acid BS... Calling it "FLAVORLESS" would be an understatement. The jarred capers were the best part of the dish. The jalapeno poppers can assuredly be purchased in your local Giant freezer... they were obviously made with old peppers and Cheez Whiz. Everyone who gave this place 4-5 stars obviously (a) works there and wants to keep their job, (b) is high or (c) has never eaten good food in their entire life. I'm gonna go smoke a cigarette to get out the nasty taste Listrani's just left in my mouth. I went to Listrani's yesterday in the early evening. I ordered a 12 inch cheesesteak. I am somewhat of a picky eater but the toppings were all correct and it had plenty of meat. I got it to-go (it was ready quicker than originally quoted too!) and was ready to leave...except my car wouldn't start. A friendly contractor there helped me figure out what I feared--dead battery. He then spoke to either the manager or the owner who said his employees likely had jumper cables in the delivery truck. I moved out of the way due to my lack of car knowledge and once they were clamped, I started my car. Immediate success. I thanked them all greatly and knowing they went out of their way I offered them some money for their effort and kindness. Of course like true gentleman they wouldn't accept so I figured the next best thing I could do was download the yelp app and let the masses know. BTW I had to go get the new car battery and didn't sit down to eat until 30-45 min later and the cheesesteak was still very tasty! Still warm wrapped in the aluminum foil and the roll was not soggy. Definitely coming back soon and again appreciate everything gents yesterday was pretty awful and it's nice to know people go the extra mile for their customers/fellow man--or in my case allow me to go the extra miles! read more
