    Meatballs & Spaghetti

I stopped into Pie-tanza for dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty. I had a hard time deciding what to order so I just opted for one of the wood fire pizzas and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs to go. The pizza did not take long to come out at all. The pizza was good. I would have preferred a little more sweeter sauce where this sauce is more tangy. The pepperoni is more of the deli style then the pepperoni cups. The spaghetti and meatballs did not have a ton of sauce. The meatballs were a decent size and where flavorful. If I was in the area again, I would check it out.

Always, always delicious food. Always remarkably generous portions. Always friendly servers and staff. Always shocked by how reasonable the prices are. They deserve six stars, not just five!

Pretty average as far as pizza goes. The sausage seemed a bit bland to me, pie ingredients chaos garnished (meat all on one side). Crust slightly too thin and crispy for my liking. It tasted okay, but nothing to scream home about. Portion is perfect for one person, provided that is your only order. The cheese appetizers are good, I mean how can you go wrong with deep fried cheese? The goat cheese balls do come on an insane bed of lettuce though, so it could in and of itself be an entree. The side (app) salads are huge and would probably work as a whole meal. Delicious, but I can't imagine how big the full size one is! Nice ambiance. Fair amount of kids and crowded on a weeknight. Big shout to our server Chloe who is the model for wonderful and friendly service. If I ever come back, I'd ask for her section.

Good family-friendly restaurant with wood-fired NY style pizza, but NOT Neapolitan. The ginormous charred pizza pies have a nice crunchy crust. The creamy White Sauce pizza with onion and thyme was more flavorful than the Cheese pizza. The pizza shake with oregano and fontina cheese overpowered the Cheese pizza. The cheese congealed pretty quickly and the pizza became tepid after 5 minutes. It was a bit disappointing to be served a can of Lambrusco instead of from a fresh bottle in a glass. There was a large assortment of flavored sangria and non-alcoholic bubbly sodas. The service was great and very accommodating towards my rambunctious family with a toddler and a baby throwing food from a high chair (we left a generous tip!). If you enjoy NY style pizza, you'll enjoy Pie-tanza. It was nice to support the small family business, but I prefer Neapolitan pizza at Modo Mia right across the street from the shopping plaza.

A true Arlington staple. I've been getting the margherita for over ten years-- it is one of my comfort foods. The sauce and crust are amazing.

A friend recommended this place to me and I'm glad she did. First off...the food. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza and the pizza I ordered had a nice charred crispy to it and the rich tomato sauce was pleasant. I'm also a sucker for apples and cinnamon, so I decided to try their warm apple caramel pie, which was served a la mode with vanilla bean ice cream. Was a little disappointed by this dessert because I thought it was rather bland. Nevertheless, it wasn't the terrible, so I ate most of it. Secondly, the service was attentive and not overbearing. My server was friendly and greeted me right away when she noticed me standing by the host stand without a host/hostess in sight. Last but not least, the ambiance was cozy, casual, and comfortable. I like the fact that they had chalk boards with menu items. Nice touch to add to the welcoming atmosphere. Pizza: 9/10 Warm caramel apple pie: 6/10

Love the pizza here I've been going here for 9+ years now. But today was the first time I got a PIZZA MAKING KIT!! cutest date night I had with my fiancée got the 3 pizza pie kit (comes with 4 doughs) and got pepperoni and sausage toppings! Completely recommend so fun! I put the pizzas in the oven at 425 degrees F, for about 10min. Also we super appreciate the 4th dough, that's how we found out the exact time we needed to take out the pizza perfect amount of cheese, toppings and sauce!!

The worst service I have ever experienced in Arlington or anywhere for that matter. The food is mediocre mall food court quality.

First things first, parking. The stores have a parking garage that requires you to pay within 15-20 minutes I believe. I met a friend at another restaurant that validated but even if they didn't. Prices were pretty reasonable. When I first entered, the place was bright, clean, pretty immaculate. Everyone was either working or conversing with friends at various tables. In line with a cafe vibe. It was my first time there so I wasn't aware that you can simply order at the kiosks by the entrance. But the server was very friendly and was happy to provide input on the menu. But since I wanted to peruse the menu a bit more, I figured the kiosk was the best way to check out other items on the menu besides the sandwich that I knew I wanted. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the bulgogi egg sandwich to go. The sandwich was flavorful, the eggs were fluffy, the bread was soft and the sauce brought everything together. I could see why it was one of their best selling items. The hibiscus lemonade was delicious as well, though I'm interested in trying other drinks on the menu such as their smoothies. All in all I would definitely return and probably end up getting the same sandwich.

THE ROYAL PALM - 12 The salmon lox is my go-to bagel order, and this is their version of it. Instead of an everything bagel, I swapped it with a cheddar bagel. Unfortunately, the bagel was a bit stale and hard to chew, which was disappointing. On the bright side, there was a good amount of smoked salmon. The onions weren't very pungent but added a nice crisp texture. I requested light cream cheese, but it wasn't spread evenly -- a lot of it was just stuck in the hole of the bagel. All in all, I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the bagel today. If I return, I really should encourage myself to try a different bagel other than the salmon lox to see what's out there. They also have a few melts on the menu that looked interesting.

It only took a quick 10 minutes to receive our entire order, which was 3 burgers, a crispy fried chicken sandwich, loaded fries, and 2 milkshakes! I was very happy with how efficient the service was and the most important part, how delicious every bite was! The smashburgers are made with 100% halal beef and they come out HOT with perfectly crispy edges on the patties and a juicy center. We ordered 3 burgers and each of them stood out in their own way. You can get a single, double, or triple patty burger and add whatever toppings to it too. The jalapeño burger was the star of the show, it had a such a nice and spicy kick to it. I wasn't expecting much but this burger had HEAT! Another favorite was the Juicy Lucy. It was packed with grilled onions and the patty was stuffed with cheddar cheese. A super messy and cheesy option that was definitely worth every bite! I liked that Jon's Joint offered other options too such as loaded fries and fried chicken sandwiches. What I found unique is that for the loaded fries, you can get it with falafel and make it spicy! This time, they had run out of the falafel so I am excited to try it next time. Growing up Italian stateside, I never knew about this light, wavy pasta dish. So pappardelle pasta is like some rare delicacy and I love it. This pasta dish is not easy to find unless it has been popularized in the Italian dining scene, recently. How can I explain this pasta? Papardelle are not thick like butter noodles, but instead they are thin yet wide. And at Dal Grano's, they must be experienced to be savoured. Do call ahead, because they might just have them made. Dal Grano's is a neighborhood place. We love how when you are dining, they actually talk to you and are friendly. There are a few other places around Mclean proper which I wish were more overtly warm and hospitable, in this way. All of Dal Grano's pasta is homemade and delicious. It's definitely great for carryout pasta or a diner-style environment with a homemade pasta lunch or dinner. I don't think they deliver or work with any of the delivery services. You just call and pickup. The butternut squash ravioli is tender and flavorful. We have probably have gotten different versions of their ravioli every time. Outside of the papardelle, I'm all in for their rich squid ink pasta when it's made. I don't go there enough to know if it's always available. They have over 50 homemade pasta combinations to choose from and a big freezer case of food to take home. My biggest issue with Dal Grano's is when I see all of the pastas in the serving bowls presented to order and cook, I want to buy them all at once. I know it sounds tacky, but they make me yearn for a pasta buffet there just so that I can taste all of the variations. Alas, if we were in town more we'd just need to go more often to taste all of their selection. There's only one other restaurant that does Italian this well and it's around 15 minutes away in Falls Church. But even that fabulous Italian restaurant does not compare with the amount and selection of homemade pastas at Dal Grano's.
