I went to this location today and my cashier rang up my 2 items, I had put my card in the reader and she said my total as 58.00, I then asked, "wait, 58? Why?" She said, "oh sorry there was someone else who was in line before you and they got a captain Morgan and then changed their mind and I forgot to clear the register. I will refund you the 30 difference. " I replied," ok, thanks" I put my card back in, she pushed buttons then said, "ok, it was refunded." She handed me a new receipt. I had a gut feeling she wasn't right. I got to my car checked my receipts and checked my bamk account. Sure enough she charged me a second time 30 for another bottle of Morgan's that I didn't get. So I went back in and told her she didn't refund me she charged me now $60. She solid, "oh my goodness I'm so sorry. I must have been flustered. Let me fix that." This 3rd time she finally fixed it. But I believe she knew what she was doing and was trying to take advantage of shoppers being occupied and in a hurry. I ordered seasonal cider for my Wife from Liquor Barn (liquorbarnca.com). I just realized they charged us tax for California even though we live in Oregon and had it shipped to Oregon (tax-free). Well, we will NEVER order from them again. I called and they replied that everyone gets charged the tax?! Where does the $7.94 worth of tax unfairly collected from us go? So I went in this place about 3 or 4 months ago, I was looking for a certain beer that they usually have. So some young Buck said oh yeah we can order it for you. I'm like oh great so he took down what I wanted, took my name, and phone number and said we will call you when it's in. I said perfect, 4 months later and I'm still waiting for the call. They added a tip for themselves on my invoice. When I called to get it back they said I had to come in. However, we are from out of town so that can't happen. I was having trouble with an online order because it did not match what they really had in the store inventory. A guy helped me process the transaction. We were on a road trip to southern CA, and had to stop for gas. So, we also decided to stop here just to see if they had a certain flavor of Ciroc they we didn't have out yet in WA. My cousin had been to this place years ago, and kept talking about it having good deals. I was expecting a Total Wine or BevMo kind of place, so I was surprised to see how it looked on the outside. Would've never expected it to be a big liquor store. Huge parking lot, and there was only one other car parked there. Walked in, and there was a lot to look at, but was kind of in a rush, so went straight to the Vodka, and they did have the Ciroc flavor I was looking for. I have only been in 3 liquor stores my entire life. This has to be the coolest. There was all kinds of stuff in there. We met some people at the river that had some interesting beverages and decided to go take a look. I am not a drinker so it's very rare for me but I saw a selection of my favorite Belgian krieks and framboise. The staff was friendly as well. read more

It is a little hard to find and tucked away behind the bowling alley, but it is worth the trip. It is a large cavernous warehouse that is a little dark. But they make up for that with a huge selection of spirits and beers, and an okay selection on wines. They have all of the major brands and even some hard to find labels and very good prices. Just stopped in to get a bottle of wine. I wasn't in there for long but they have a huge selection. When I walked in, no one was at the front, so I wasn't greeted, but I don't mind that. I worked retail for years and I know that people sometimes get uncomfortable with that "Can I help you?" pressure. Wine was fairly priced to me. I didn't look at the liquor. When I went to checkout, still no one was at the register. The whole place remained a ghost town (oops, perhaps no one drinks on Sunday in Redding?). A minute later, a staff member emerged. No, she was not wearing a mask, which slightly bothers me because I come from the Bay where cases are high. Luckily, there is a large plastic barrier between the checker and the checkoutee. The next part is weird. She rang me up, and while she inserted my card, she went for a handful of gummy worms next to her. I don't know if she felt comfortable because I was young like her, or because she works in an alcohol warehouse so F it, but I just thought that was weird. Like, I would never just blatantly eat gummy worms in front of a paying customer, especially while handling their card, but OK. I noticed she rubbed her nose while I was checking out, too. Ugh. I mean, I can sanitize my stuff, so whatever. But this place needs to look out for the old and vulnerable. Touchless pay options would be great. Just because we're buying alcohol doesn't mean we completely don't care about our health, right? Lol. Regardless, I give four stars because you can find everything you need in here and stay relatively safe while doing it. read more

Driving back home to Portland from Los Angeles, we always swing through a couple liquor stops to load up on liquor which is consistently far cheaper down here than in the People's Republic of Oregon. Having run the gamut of stores in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, and knowing pretty well what booze sells for up and down the state, I decided to hop into Liquor Barn to round out a few holes in my collection. Liquor Barn has some ups and downs. The good: Selection. This place is huge; easily the size of the average BevMo or maybe even bigger. Everything I was looking for here I found in pretty short order. The decent: Pricing. Comparing Liquor Barn to other big-box-style stores resulted in finding some pretty good deals, and finding other items more expensive. In general, I found their Whiskey section to be slightly high on the pricing--Bottles I just found for $19.99 were $22-24 here. Single Malt Scotches were a bit high here ($3-10 a bottle higher than elsewhere). However, their Liqueur prices were quite good. Came home with a bottle of Galliano (Herbal), some Domaine de Canton (Ginger), and Tuaca (Vanilla/Orange) at some of the best prices I've found--easily 10-20% cheaper than elsewhere. In all, great place to stop and buy liquor, but as always, it pays to be an informed buyer and know what sells for what. We'll be back next time we're passing through. read more

If you happen to be in Redding, this local liquor shop has a wide variety of craft beer and spirits. I saw a lot of things I had not seen at any other shop. They had many different ciders, tons of craft beer and spirits as well that aren't available at a lot of other places. It's wall to wall alcohol and other related items like bottle openers, flasks, glasses, etc. Prices seem reasonable and the staff are knowledgable about what they carry. This is my favorite place to get booze but I will not be supporting them in until after the pandemic because they do not have any protection measures in place. No staff members are wearing masks and there is no effort to ensure customers are masked. There are "sneeze guards" in place but you have to walk around them to get your stuff once it's bagged or boxed. Disappointing. read more

The cashiers are gruff, disinterested, and robotic...and usually gabbing with each other about something while the customer waits. When I came here, I really did not know what to expect. My buddy and I have been driving all around town looking for some good Japanese Whiskey, as he has never had any. We went to several other places. Big name places but they didn't have it. Of all places, Liquor Barn not only had what I was looking for but they had several other good brands. We picked up 3 different kinds of whiskey and beer. I was very impressed with the selection that they carry, as other big stores did not have the variety Liquor Barn has. This place is huge, and has a huge variety of everything. If you cannot find it here, you are not going to find it anywhere else local. For now on, this will be the first place I stop when I'm looking for any kind of alcohol in the area. Must go if you are looking for hard to find liquor or just looking for liquor in general. Fraud. You order wine and it shows you the pictures of the exact bottle you google and says add a case to the cart. Then it shows up with different Vineyard, same brand name, and 8 years different from what you ordered. They say in the fine print under the bottle subject to change and the picture of the bottle on the screen you thought you were ordering, never happens read more
