We recently needed a large order for our son's wedding. The manager was really helpful, even drove to Chico to get more of the specific sparkling wine we needed, and they also had the Pinot Noir and white wines from the exact vineyard in the Anderson Valley we wanted- in stock! And a special bottled water I had expected to probably need to order from somewhere online- they had in stock! When our order arrived they were so helpful to load it in my vehicle (really heavy). Their prices were very reasonable! We really appreciate this store, Jessica and the whole team, and glad we chose this store to order our beverages for our special event. Shopping at BevMo is like being a kid in a candy store! Anything you enjoy of the liquid variety can be found here. This place is well organized and fully stocked with almost every brand, and version of drinks imaginable from pop, wine, beer, alcohol and liqueurs. There is a huge selection of wines from all over the state and even other parts of the world. All described by vintage, color, location of the winery and even what awards they may have won. I found soft drinks I enjoyed as a child, but forgot about later in life that were actually on the shelves, bringing back fun memories of the olden days. But even better, are all the fine liquors they carry priced within budget up to the extremely rare and expensive! Sometimes I just like looking at all the fun gift items, bar ware, unique snacks and gourmet cheeses. While, BevMo is no longer the "Liquor Barn" of the 70's where you could get bargains singly or in bulk, sometimes their sales are worth a look see. Went to BevMo to buy a 6 pack of beer. Left my wallet in the car and the clerk insisted he needed one see my ID. I'm 81 years old so apparently he is blind or there no such thing as common sense. I walked to the parking lot shaking my head and retrieved my Driver's license. When I presented it to the clerk he could see my date of birth but told me he had to scan my license. I refused to allow him to do that because it contains my personal information that I wasn't willing to share and am not required to share. Who knows where this information goes? My license clearly shows my age and my physical appearance confirms that I'm old enough to purchase alcohol. I promptly walked out of the store thinking what ever happened to common sense. I understand the law and nowhere does it say a merchant has the duty or right to scan ID cards. BevMo's only duty is to not sell alcohol to minors. BevMo also has no legal right to scan ID cards. Apparently this is BeMo''s idiotic policy so I won't be going there any longer. read more

I purchased six 1.75 liter bottles of Bailey's Irish Cream as they were on sale. When I got home, I saw that they had overcharged me $25.74. I took the ad into the store and showed it to them. The manager agreed that it was their ad but stated that the cashier rang me up correctly. I showed them the simple math to demonstrate to them that they had overcharged me. I don't think that they knew anything other than what the register told them to charge. They finally referred me to customer service who have not returned my phone calls or online messages. My bank refunded the difference to me but told me that they couldn't get the money back from the bank due to their working agreement. After shopping there for years, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I've tried to call and ask some questions to save me a trip and either get told they have customers in store they need to deal with or place me on hold where I wait and end up just hanging up. I referred some friends to Redding BevMo for roughly $600 in booze for a wedding reception. As they spent an hour searching out their preferred brands and wines with lots of help from staff, they were asked for IDs. There were 3 people and one (a 30 year old) didn't have his. My friends offered to have him go outside and the store employee told them no. They could no longer purchase the alcohol. What a waste of time. Why not have employees ask right away or place a sign in the main entrance that states they require all entering customers to have ID. Instead - they went to World Market and saved a fortune. read more

After living in Utah for a few years, walking into a BevMo! feels like a surreal experience. It's akin to walking into a toy store when you were a kid and you immediately see about 500 things you want to take home with you. I hope that someday Utah will be able to have the amazing place that is BevMo! Then I won't get depressed when they send awesome coupons and other items to my email. I'm a sucker for service and this place has won me over! I have been a patron of BevMo! in the bay area and always enjoyed the experience, so I was excited to see that one recently opened in Redding. I went in to purchase a particular alcohol for baking and didn't want to spend too much money for this task, so I thought I would give BevMo a try. When I entered the store and began perusing the isles, I was pleased that the staff noticed me and directed me to the proper area, as well as inquire after my needs. I was making a rum cake and was so excited to see that I could purchase a full size bottle of Bacardi for $9.99! (come on that is pretty awesome). I then asked the staff if they carried long toothpicks. ( Here comes the great service part): he asked me what I was using them for and it turns out I need them to poke holes in the cake and regular toothpicks won't work. The guy then says "What about shish kabob skewers?" Yes, I say, wonderful, oh but they don't sell them. "Wait a minute," the man says. He then returns with a few skewers for me to have! O.k. I'm sold on the place. Needless to say I'm sold on the place. However, here are a few other perks. The place is clean and organized, not dark and creepy feeling. Also the staff who work there are great resources - they know the products and they will educate you well if you just ask. Lastly, the staff actually physically guide you to places around the store, rather than just saying "oh its over there." Good experience, good price. read more

The only reason they get the two stars I gave them is because of their selection of beers and cigars. The cigars were reasonably priced and they had a surprising selection for a liquor store. The problem was, I stood by the cigar counter for 15 minutes waiting for service. Both employees looked right at me multiple times and made no attempt to help me. They just continued to stock. I finally just had to leave without getting my cigars. Stocking their beer and getting home faster must have been more important than serving a customer. VERY disappointed. I am a long time customer of BevMo, and as a PAYING customer, I am very frustrated. I visited the store this evening, and upon entering the aisle where the Cointreau was located I immediately noticed a couple who blatantly appeared to be scoping out the aisle for something to take without paying. They saw me and darted to the next aisle so, hoping to prevent a theft, I followed them to the next aisle {vodka}. They again averted me and pretended to walk around looking - but I saw the guy repeatedly adjusting his very baggy shirt and pants scoping out aisle after aisle. At this point, it was time for me to go so I decided to bring this observation to the attention of the sale's associate who was checking out my order. As I was reiterating how imperative it was that the store to be sure to keep their eyes on these two, and she even agreeing with me, there they go walking out the door without paying for a thing. I said, "that's exactly who I was referring to". She went and peeked out the door and that was it. No Manager was called and nothing was done. I didn't expect her to chase them {it was pouring and it's probably policy, not to}, but prior to them just walking out the door I spent several minutes explaining why the store needed to watch these two. As a loyal and paying customer seeing this happen and nothing being done to stop it before they walked out the door is very frustrating to me. Had an employee just shadowed them pretending to put things away on the shelf that would have stopped the theft I have absolutely no doubt that occurred. read more

went to bev mo for the first time and had a bad time I will never go to another one again if you go better make sure everyone in your group has there id even if your 55 and are the one buying wine and ect. for a wedding reception they would not sell 600.00 worth of wine and ect. to me because my new wife daughter and son n law was there and my son n law did not have his id with him offerd to have him go to the car or come back later they said no come back tommarow I drove 2 hours and said I cant this is after we were there for 20 minutes and had been helped with 4 cases of wine and on to liqure why did they not say something when we first got there my first time there and my last I will pay a little more somewhere else then to go back to bev mo and be treated like a piece of shit never again oh yes ive told about 6 people so far and all 6 said they will never try a bev mo great selection to bad I had a bad time for the first time there read more
