She said, "oh sorry there was someone else who was in line before you and they got a captain Morgan and then changed their mind and I forgot to clear the register. I will refund you the 30 difference. " I replied," ok, thanks" I put my card back in, she pushed buttons then said, "ok, it was refunded." She handed me a new receipt. I had a gut feeling she wasn't right. I got to my car checked my receipts and checked my bamk account. Sure enough she charged me a second time 30 for another bottle of Morgan's that I didn't get. So I went back in and told her she didn't refund me she charged me now $60. She solid, "oh my goodness I'm so sorry. I must have been flustered. Let me fix that." This 3rd time she finally fixed it. But I believe she knew what she was doing and was trying to take advantage of shoppers being occupied and in a hurry. Pay attention at the checkout, make sure your purchase price is correct.

I got here instead of Walmart and target in some of the bigger department stores just because it is a little smaller and much easier to find the things that you need. This place is very clean as well. I hate when I go into a store and everything is super dirty. This location does not have that problem at all. The staff is very helpful and they will assist you with everything that you need. All in all this location definitely gets four stars for me. I would give it five stars but the only issue we did have is the parking. There are always so many cars in the parking lot sometimes it makes it a little bit difficult to park. The new site next to the Cascade Theater is convenient and the inside is charming - cozy, clean and sets the right atmosphere with old-style architecture and wine-related decor. Each time I have visited, I discovered wines that I had not heard of but that impressed me enough to buy some bottles for my already overstocked wine cabinet. It's fun to hear the stories of the wineries as you sip their wines. And the staff does a great job of finding wines that may not be on the current tasting list if they see that the customer's palate matches something they have stashed in their cellar. I've not tried the food that is offered, but the limited menu was inviting and appropriate to a wine & tapas kind of experience. Having sampled wine all over the U.S. and in many different countries, I am very happy that Redding now has a fun and interesting venue for both experienced aficionados and those who are new to the enjoyment of wine. As I walked in the door, a woman was standing outside calling her unleashed French Bulldog to come to her. At that same time another woman walked out of the store with her two dogs in a utility wagon. These are PETS, NOT service animals. Bringing pets into an establishment that prepares or serves food that are not designated service animals is ILLEGAL in CA in addition to being disgusting! The first dog was running around inside the entry way unleashed and clearly a pet, this should NOT be allowed and YES the store should stop this. I have zero issue when a patron comes inside with a designated service animal, but pets should NOT be allowed.

But it's one of those liquor stores where the emphasis is on huge bottles of cheap, hard liquor and 24-can cases of cheap, warm beer. The spirits section is a good three times larger than the wine section. At 7:00 in the evening, the other customers were already shitty-drunk and there to reload, except for the guy in the Turkey Trot sweatshirt who was there to purchase a pack of Camel 99s. I was there to grab a couple of bottles of vino, and as for the wine selection.......let's put it this way: There was a decent bottle of Argentinean malbec shelved just two bottles to the left of the Boone's Farm Fuzzy Navel (which looks like fortified Gatorade). On the plus side, the wines carried by my local supermarket were a good couple of dollars cheaper at Liquor King, but that's not going to make me forget that they're also a couple of dollars cheaper at Trader Joe's, where the selection is better. This struck me as slightly surreal: The Pakistani-looking gent behind the counter complimented me on the wise choice of the malbec. "That's a good bottle."

We have a couple of go-to items every visit: Ruffino wine that we originally had in Italy, and Rittersport chocolate that we originally found in Germany. This is hands down the most perfect place to put together a gift for someone. They have a beautiful collection of cards and stationery, even cards that contain flower seeds and are actually plantable!
