Here I am again. I guess I can be my own best critic. I read my post from a year ago and I assume I told it the way I felt at the time. Since then we have been back I think three times. That in itself should suggest something. The last time we were there was in April '25; all three of us were very satisfied with the food, presentation and flavor. Last night on our way into town we were looking forward to going to Lin's but it was too close to closing time so we went tonight. As with April the food was as good as any Chinese restaurant I've been to and I've been to Chinese restaurants from Hong Kong to D.C., both directions. If it's been awhile since you've been to Lin's try them, I'm sure you will be pleased. As I stated previously the decor is simple but well lit and impeccably clean. read more

My husband and I frequented Lins Restaurant when we lived in Moses Lake before moving to Leavenworth for 8 years. We are now happily moved back to Moses Lake and had our fingers crossed that Lin's would be just as good as it was when we lived here before. Lin's did not disappoint! We were thrilled to find the quality and deliciousness was just as fantastic as before. I'm obsessed with their chicken chop suey! The food comes out fast and no corners are cut with regards to the taste of their food. I highly recommend Lin's Restaurant ! Trust me-you will not be disappointed. This food is terrible. I came in hoping for msg free Chinese above standard food and found that while the host was helpful in making sure I didn't order any MSG( addictive brain stimulating, wheat derivative spice), I was not prepared for what I paid $20.00. I took the food home and found the broccoli was overcooked, mushy, and the skimpy chicken was limited in taste. The white rice looked ok, but I don't eat plain white rice, I asked for brown rice, but I was told that rice had MSG added to it. I am very disappointed and way too much money for food that I threw away. I learned my lesson, and I will wait till my husband, who is a chef, comes home and fixes me fantastic stir fries with Organic Brown Rice. Absolutely no MSG anywhere! read more

I've lived on the west side of Washington all my life until a year ago. This is the best Chinese restaurant in Moses lake! The front of the restaurant is not very inviting, but once you open that door it's very clean, nice and open. The service was fast and friendly, answered my questions and had great timing when I needed a box. The Bbq pork fried rice had the biggest chunks of pork I've ever seen in fried rice. I like that it wasn't jam packed with peas and carrots, flavor was on point. Almond chicken was my pick for the night, just how I like it! The chicken with garlic sauce had veggies, the sauce complimented the veggies very nicely. Can't wait to go back. read more

Just awful. Reading the reviews, I set the bar pretty low for this one, and still...so disappointing. My order was pretty basic: Mongolian Beef; Egg Rolls and some steamed rice. Mongolian Beef: see the photos. Whatever they gave me sure as heck wasn't Mongolian Beef by any standard. But setting that aside, it wasn't even edible. It was a mix of over-cooked, nearly liquified vegetables, Flavorless tough beef, and a sauce flavored like vinegary dishwater. Just awful. Egg Rolls: see photos Filling was pretty good, but not very well rolled and pretty greasy. Rice: Decent....but, I mean, it's steamed rice. Typically, when the ambiance is lacking that means the emphasis is in the food. Maybe? Thoughts on entrees were mixed, the spicy chicken was average, the sweet and sour chicken was worse than a Lean Cuisine. The fried rice was super plain and hardly met the description. When you are served a 20 oz. plastic bottle of soda with the cap still on, while paying $18 for an entree, something doesn't feel right. We went on a Friday night and had very different expectations then what were realized. The kitchen needs to reinvigorate their zest for the culinary arts. They should have known what was put out to the table was suspect. And when the server sees a full plate of untouched food, instead of asking how everything is, perhaps being more inquisitive and drilling down to why I'm having a hard time stomaching my dinner. I awarded Lin's 1 star because there was no option to select 0 stars. First off, I normally rate restaurants solely based on the food alone, unless the service is offensive. I am in Moses Lake for work. Thankfully this is my last night. I was in the mood for General Tso's Chicken. I ordered it, along with rice for take-out. Got back to my hotel and open the containers... the chicken is bright red and tastes exactly like sweet and sour chicken. I immediately call because they mixed up my order. I called and a woman (who yelled at someone else in Mandarin) asked the chef about the order. Apparently, the food I got was correct. I don't usually like or eat American Chinese food (since I'm Chinese), but every now and again I do get a craving for it. I ended up going back to the strip mall, but this time to the Safeway, to get what I wanted. The only thing good about Lin's was there was NO wait (no one was in the restaurant), and the quality of the steamed rice was good- it was definitely fresh. I would not go back. read more

The last time i was in this restaurant, Yelp didnt exist. The decor hasent changed since then. Pretty sure the food hasent either. Was in for lunch and got one the specials. Was surprised at how small the portions were considering the price. I wanted to upgrade my chicken chow mein from crunchy to pan fried noodles and it was an extra 3$!! Not worth it AT ALL! The noodles were greasy and hardly had any chicken. Gave this place 3 stars because the service was great and the egg rolls were some of the best ice had. read more

Absolutely awful. Save your money. I ordered sweet and sour prawns with bbq pork and chicken chow main. Only came with 3 shrimp that were over breaded. In my humble opinion, I think this is the Best Chinese food restaurant in Moses Lake. This is a Northern China style of cooking. So you will fine some Siechuan and Shanghaiese favorites there. Just moved to Moses Lake since this is where my wife was from. We were taking her mom out of a lunch and ended up here. My kids and I always wash our hands before sitting down so we use the restroom while the mother in law and my wife sit down to place drink orders. We come back and even though it was about 5 minutes we still did not have even a waitress come to the table. When she does come did not even bring us glasses of water like she did for the table that came AFTER us but she went to before us. My son and I order the General Tso chicken and we get sweet and sour chicken instead. When we tell the waitress this is wrong she tells me that is how they make it that is all they will do. So if you want mislabeled food and piss poor service head here for dinner. read more

Had a craving for Chinese food, and I was in the Safeway parking lot of Moses Lake. My favorite "close" Chinese place to eat is in Othello, about 40 minutes away. Lin's Restaurant was 30 steps away. I ordered a combination dinner with chicken chow mein; egg fu yung; almond chicken; and BBQ Pork. I also ordered a separate order of General Tso's, but told them to make it to go. Here's the lowdown. The chow mein was almost all celery, very little chicken. Sauce was okay, but thin, and almost no chow mein noodles. The few I got were soggy and bloated. Next, the egg fu yung was thick, but over cooked (not burnt, just as if it had been sitting for a long while) with an old-tasting sauce (again, as if it had been sitting under a hot lamp for a long time). I like egg fu yung a lot, and was excited to see it... but it was *very* disappointing. The Almond Chicken was overcooked. WAY overcooked. Like LEATHER overcooked. (Did I mention that it was overcooked? Because it was. Overcooked, that is.) The sauce on the Almond Chicken tasted exactly like the sauce for the egg fu yung... and I'm pretty sure that it was supposed to have some kind of almond flavor it it. Which it didn't. The BBQ Pork was, by comparison, nice. It was a bit more overdone than I personally like, but not offensive at all. Mild taste, and a little plate of hot mustard/bbq sauce/sesame seeds. I ate it first, and it was pretty good. My wife's to-go order of General Tso's chicken was in a small take-out box. It would have barely covered a plate... and they charged me TWELVE DOLLARS for it. We won't be back. There's better Chinese food at the deli counter at Safeway at half the price. read more

Update: they raised their prices...not worthy anymore. I like Lin's for lunch. I haven't been here for dinner yet, and am only reviewing their M-F lunch specials here. Prices are reasonable, the veggies are fresh and house-cut, everything is served steaming and piping-hot. You don't get that 'old-cooking oil' flavor in any dish and their portions are most ample. Chinese food is one of my favorite cuisines. Normally, I sway towards the Szechuan region. That being said, I still like Lin's, in all it's glorious, American-ized blandness; Lin's does Chinese-American food quite well. Do's: Order one of the lunch combos which run @ $11. Make sure you get Fried Shrimp (Lin's serves the fluffiest, batter-dipped, crispy, best-you-ever-had Chinese-American Shrimp with Catsup and Hot Mustard. Order the Chicken Chow Mein (it's not mushy veges at all, subtle sauce and served with American Deep-Fried Chinese Noodles...irreplaceable flavor combo). I'd do the spareribs again even with the strange sauce. Their Sweet and Sour Pork is worthy (pass on the S&S chicken). Passes: Egg Rolls (kind of soggy because of all the Bean Sprouts). Very good dipping sauce. Pu Pu Platter/Appetizer Plate for two: not worth the $$ Inconsistant results, might as well go to Safeway for the BBQ Pork. Large Lunch Combos: These are served with Egg Drop Soup, Fried Rice and two Main choices. I'm not impressed with their soup at all...it needs the Saltines they're served with! Their Fried Rice will need lots of Soy Sauce...better to just order White Rice and doll-it-up yourself. $10 bowls of soup? Not even close to being worthy. Don'ts: Don't order any food here extra spicy here...they don't know how to do it, nor do they have hot peppers in house. On top of that, they will charge you for extra spicy, and it won't even ring a half an alarm on the fire scale. Don't order the General Tso's Chicken here, unless you like Sweet and Sour Chicken with a deep, dark, ultra-sweet red sauce, with no hot peppers and no ginger. It's not bad Sweet and Sour Chicken and is richer than their menu version, but it's not General Tso's, by even a slight thread of faith. Don't order their BBQ Pork. It clearly comes in to them pre-prepared, and they merely slice it. It's not even warmed up. Don't order BBQ Pork on anything stir fried. It will come on top of the dish: julienned and cold (lame). read more

Greasy, and the chow mein we got had an odd and burnt taste to it. The BBQ pork was yummy, but exactly the same as every other Chinese restaurant I've been to. My Family and I went here after hearing a rave review from a friend. it was mid afternoon and the place was empty. That was good as my two year old was acting up. The waitress was very friendly. The service was ok. There was no drink menu, so we had no idea what they had besides water. I ordered the spicy beef, it had very good flavor, but not enough spice for my liking. I like it hot. My 5 year old loved her sweet and sour pork. The chow mein however, was very disappointing. It looked liked sliced chicken over cooked cabbage with those crunchy deep fried chow mein noodles that are more salad toppings than actual food. I prefer the long softer noodles. Overall the service was ok, but the food was average. Not much of a choice for kids, but there the meals are large enough for my little ones to split. read more

I have enjoyed eating at Lin's for years. As a longtime fan of Elmer's Chinese Restaurant, this is a great way to reminisce for us old timers. Be ready to stand and wait. Food is good, service is SLOW! When I entered the restaurant there was only one customer waiting for an order. No employees in sight. About two minutes later a Chinese lady brings the mans order. While hes is paying, the phone rings. She answers it and ask the person on the other end to hold. When the customer in the restaurant left the Chinese lady directed her attention to the person on the phone. The customer on the phone was asking multiple questions about the menu items. This took about 5 minutes. After she was done with that customer I thought that I would be placing my order. WRONG! The Chinese lady takes the phone order back to the kitchen. Why she couldn't take mine at the same time is beyond me. She spends time rearranging a few things. Then she finally headed back to the front of the restaurant. But I was not there. The time lapsed between when I entered the restaurant and when I got tired of waiting and left was almost 15 minutes.While I was sitting in my car, a couple entered the restaurant. Been here twice in the last 2 months. I'll never consciously go back. The first time my family and I went we waited for our food for over an hour. Second time our kids got their meals 40 minutes before we got ours. The staff is cold and makes excuses for their poor service f$ck this place. Never again. I ran a timer after we were seated. It took 15 minutes for them to bring us drinks and take our orders. 15 minutes later the kids food showed up. 45 minutes later I asked the lady running the place where our food and soup was. Within 3 minutes it was out. She tried to say the food we ordered was special and that's why it took so long. I guess the soup takes forever too because other were served before us. 1st time in a long time I didn't tip. Had real fun trying to entertain my little kids while waiting for our food. Lin's has been around for FOREVER. That's what all the local's have told us but my husband and I are fairly new to town and have gone here 3 times now. Here's our assessment... Atmosphere - Very quiet. Older place. Cleanliness - Excellent. Waiter (We had the same guy all three times) - You can tell he loves his job. Very friendly, quick and easy to understand. Wait for food - Excellent. Usually between 10 - 15 min. Egg rolls - Best in town!! Big, crispy, and flavorful! Price - We think it's a little overpriced for what you get - $11 combination meals. Combination meals - A little bit of everything. Management - They're very flexible and will let you trade whatever you want for something else when putting together a combination meal.
