Orange Chicken (mild)
Kailah M.

If I could give zero stars I would. I've never been more ashamed of customer service in my life ( and I've worked customer service. ) My family & I came here for a late lunch early dinner we were greeted in a friendly manner and seated quickly. We all agreed on the family meal #A. & the orange chicken we were informed about the spice levels and ordered mild. We received 2 of the egg drop which we had no issue with since only 2 people wanted. I took one bite of the soup and a few minutes later had a reaction ( no gallbladder) which I had to run to the ladies room. Once I was back at the table the food had arrived to which I noticed the orange chicken was red not orange which I knew wouldn't be what I would consider mild. My aunt proceeded to inform the waitress that Noone (other that our teenager which didn'tlike it ) of at the table could eat the orange chicken due to the spice level. The waitress told us that this was the wild orange chicken & that once we had a bite of the food we couldn't exchange it for anything else. She even called her supervisor over which told us its what the chef made and didn't even offer to resolve the issue. Im very disappointed that we had to pay for an item we couldn't eat. Upon letting another waitress informed us that there was a no spice option which we were not given at the time of ordering

Beef chow mein

Moved here missing Chinese food, I ordered the veggie deluxe and beef chow mein. It was good and the portions are the greatest.

Where to start: first of all, if you're looking for Chinese food that's so authentic that you can't even read the menu unless you know Mandarin, that's not this place. However - If you like "Chinese-American" fusion, this is a wonderful nosh spot in Othello, WA. First of all, it's pretty economical - the lunch specials range from about 5 and a half to somewhere in the 7 dollar range... and you get a LOT of food. Seriously, do yourself a favor, and just ask for a to-go box right up front, and then when you get your overflowing platter, just load half of it into the box straight up. Once that's done, you'll be left with (in my wife's case) a platter that's still full of crispy sweet-and-sour chicken, where the chicken pieces audibly crunch from across the table, and the red sauce is pretty standard. My mother-in-law had the almond chicken special, and the almond sauce was a rich deep brown. I've had it before; a good flavor and a very generous portion. I had the curry beef lunch special; (a picture is here at http://imgur.com/daEO3.jpg) it was $6.95 if I remember correctly. I asked for it to be very hot; when it came, it was exactly that: piping hot. It had obviously come *right* out of the wok, and it was very hot. NOT spicy, mind you - that's what I had been hoping for - but hot. The beef was very tender, the curry sauce quite mild... but the waitress brought me some chili sauce on the side to kick it up a few notches. I've taken one of my kids here on a previous occasion, and it was a hit with the younger set as well. Dinner service was a bit slow on the evening I went, but lunch service was very fast, with our soup getting to the table within 2 minutes of placing our order. If you like Chinese-American, and you're in Othello, give these guys a try.

Pork "chow mein", sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice and "egg rolls" on my plate. Got the #5

It is cheap, that's for sure. I think this business believes in quantity over quality. The sauce for my sweet and sour chicken has so much red dye 5, it looks like jello, it is just jiggly as well. My expectations were not too high, but maybe skip this place.

Chicken with hot garlic sauce is my favorite! My son loves the orange chicken. They let you pick the spice level too!

For a small town the food here is pretty good. The atmosphere is casual and if you want to get full for a good price this is your spot.

Delicious and large portions. Low prices=great value. Service can be slow and inaccurate, but we keep going back for the food.

Order take out instead of eating inside. The food is great but very low maintenance and unorganized with their service.

Rare is the review from me for a take-out experience, but these folks are still stuck in scamdemic…read moremode, like it's 2020. Their choice, so I'll just shake my head and press on. Regardless, their Chin-Amer fare is absolutely fantastic, and we were RVing close by, so this was the (her) choice. One look at their fried proteins will tell the tale. Those were hand-made on the spot, Cochise. Yang Tze Pork had great char sui flavor, and sides were robust and delicious. We ordered from their 'family style' menu, and for $17 per, it was a heckuva lot of food. Wifey kept trying to order some other items, and I had to tell her we were already gonna get pounded with the amount of food we had comin'. The leftovers in my fridge will testify to that little factoid. This small town in the middle of nowhere is quite fortunate to have this family to order from...

Without a doubt the best Teriyaki chicken I've ever eaten, made in the original Chinese tradition…read more How odd to find this in Connell WA, a small agricultural town (pop. 5,400) that's easily 25 miles from anywhere else, in Eastern Washington. It was Saturday and the lunch buffet was $10.95. The buffet had only six items, which made me snicker. But I'm eating Keto style, so only took 3 items... teriyaki chicken, mixed vegetables, and deep fried chicken meatballs. Oh my God, was I surprised with the flavor of this pairing. We've all had Chicken Teriyaki, right? (...char-grilled chicken strips on steamed rice with sauce-outa-the-squirt-bottle. Right?). Well forget that! This was chicken sauteed in a mild-sweet-soy (full of meat drippings, like gravy! It was fabulous! Man, I'm going home to re-engineer that recipe! I love it when you discover some new food-approach that no-one's doing anywhere. This was that moment. And with the medley of steamed vegetables and iced tea...wow, just wow! To the guy from "Nordakota" er "Sowdakota", what are you thinkin?!?! The food at Mei-Ling is delicious, and apparently everyone in town thinks so too! Look at the pictures!
